Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/3/2018

Hundreds of police and special forces stormed an asylum home in Germany where a mob had driven away the police the day before, when the latter attempted to deport one of the migrants. Three policemen were wounded in today’s action, and an undetermined number of migrants were injured when they attempted to escape the facility by jumping out the windows.

In other news, a woman in Connecticut who had been held captive by her estranged husband escaped and managed to notify police. A SWAT team arrived at the husband’s house, and then explosives previously stored in a barn suddenly blew up, destroying the building and injuring ten police officers. A charred corpse, believed to be that of the husband, was found in the ruins.

Homeowners in Conn. Explosion Identified, Were Divorcing

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. — The North Haven couple living in the home that was the site of a fiery explosion amid a police standoff Wednesday were going through a divorce filed just two weeks ago, records obtained by The Hartford Courant show.

Deborah Sayre filed for divorce from her husband of more than 40 years, John, on April 18, court records show. Although officials have not identified the person killed in the explosion or a woman who had been held hostage, records show the Sayres lived at the Quinnipiac Avenue home where the standoff took place.

Sources said the woman escaped, and contacted North Haven police about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, bringing a SWAT team to the Quinnipiac Avenue home. Officers spent several hours trying to get the woman’s estranged husband out, but as the standoff progressed, a barn on the property exploded, touching off a massive fire.

Authorities made a gruesome discovery early Thursday when they found human remains in one of the structures that burned. Authorities did not identify the remains and said an autopsy needed to be performed by the office of the chief state medical examiner.

Officials believe the man was inside the barn when it exploded. Members of a regional SWAT broke a window on the barn and, as they did, they heard a man yell something loudly before the explosion, sources said. It was full of potentially flammable materials such as chlorine containers for the pool.

They do not yet know the cause of the fire. The state police, New Haven and FBI bomb squads were combing through the rubble Thursday looking for clues.

Police are not sure how the wife managed to escape from the house and run to the home of a neighbor, who called 911. Sources said that the man had held her inside the house for several days, possibly since Saturday…

Houston Mother Stabbed 15 Times at Metro Bus Stop While Fighting Off Killer Identified by Police

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Sources say investigators are questioning a person of interest in a brutal murder. Houston police say a woman who was stabbed upwards of 15 times fought back against her attacker.

The woman has been identified as Debra Ann Flowers.

Sources say a bloody t-shirt was recovered nearby and investigators will see if the DNA matches the victim.

Homicide investigators were called to the 8400 block of Broadway near Bellfort early Thursday morning.

The woman’s body was found lying beside a concrete bench at the bus stop. She had been stabbed to death, but since her purse was right beside her, police say they don’t believe robbery was the motive.

“That lady don’t bother nobody,” said neighbor Charmaine Brown. “Nobody bothers nobody around here. That’s selfish. That’s wrong. You don’t take nobody’s life like that.”

Nine Officers Hurt When North Haven Building Explodes During Standoff; Remains Found Inside

Authorities made a gruesome discovery early Thursday when they found remains in a structure burned following an explosion that capped an hours-long attempt by officers to coax a barricaded man from the North Haven property.

A woman, who sources say was held hostage for several days but had escaped, contacted North Haven police about 2:30 p.m., bringing authorities to her Quinnipiac Avenue home. Officers spent several hours trying to get the woman’s estranged husband out, but as the standoff progressed, a barn on the property exploded, touching off a massive fire.

Officials believe the man was inside the barn at the time. They said remains were found in the structure, but they have not identified the individual as they await an autopsy by the office of the chief medical examiner.

The SWAT team members broke a window and as they did they heard the man yelled something loudly before the explosion, sources said. The garage was full of potentially flammable materials such as chlorine containers for the pool

They do not yet know the cause of the fire. The state police, New Haven and FBI bomb squads are combing the rubble this morning looking for clues.

Police are not sure how the wife managed to escape from the house on Wednesday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m., but she ran to a neighbors and they called 911. Sources said that the man had held her inside the house for several days, possibly going back to Saturday.

By the time the barn exploded, six hours after the woman contacted authorities, North Haven police had been joined by a regional SWAT team. Police officials said Thursday morning that five East Haven officers, three North Haven officers and an officer from Branford — all members of the SWAT Team — were hospitalized…

Students From 300 Schools Pledge to Walk Out of Class in ‘Stand for the Second’ Event

Students from 300 schools have pledged to walk out of class May 2 in support of a pro-gun “Stand for the Second” event.

“Stand for the Second” was organized by Will Riley, who is a senior in New Mexico’s Carlsbad High School.

Riley is not a gun owner, but he is dedicated to ideals and freedoms central to America’s founding. He penned a Washington Examiner op-ed in mid-April to explain:

For the past month, Americans have been subjected to wall-to-wall cable news coverage of a well-orchestrated campaign to dismantle the Second Amendment. This campaign, organized and funded by national gun control groups, has exploited a handful of grieving teens from the Parkland, Fla., high school shooting tragedy.

As a high school senior in Carlsbad, N.M., who supports gun rights, I am disgusted by how these students and their adult handlers are trying to define my generation. My generation is not anti-Second Amendment. My generation does not agree with retired Justice John Paul Stevens that the Second Amendment should be repealed.

In fact, millennials are more pro-gun than our parents are. It’s time the media starts hearing from the millions of young Americans who respect the Constitution and recognize that the Second Amendment is fundamental to our protection and safety, as both individuals, and as a nation.

The “Stand for the Second” website is emblazoned with these words from Thomas Jefferson: “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”

Trump Has Quietly Saved Millions From ObamaCare’s Individual Mandate

Thanks to a little-known change made in April by the Trump administration to the exemptions provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), millions of Americans will have the opportunity to escape having to pay the ObamaCare penalty imposed on those who are not enrolled in a “qualifying” health insurance plan.

In December 2017, the Republican-led Congress passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and in the legislation, they included a provision effectively eliminating the ObamaCare penalty. However, the fine won’t be eliminated until 2019, which means those Americans who currently aren’t enrolled in a health insurance plan will be forced to pay the penalty when they file their 2018 taxes in 2019.

France: Police in Paris Allow Antifa to Destroy Buildings and Set Cars on Fire to ‘Avoid Casualties’

For normal human beings, capable of feeling and experiencing love, May Day is a day for flowers, and celebrating the coming of spring. For Anarcho-Communists and Antifa, It is workers day, aka a day for throwing bricks, smashing windows and causing chaos. This isn’t surprising after all, as May Day has communist roots going as far back as 1881 during a series of labor day protests in Chicago’s Haymarket Square, that started on May 1, and ended when a bomb exploded, killing 7 policemen. The police then opened fire on the crowd wounding 200 people and killing several people as well. This was known as the The Haymarket tragedy, and in commemoration of this affair, The International Socialist Conference declared that May 1 would be known as a ‘holiday for workers.’

UK: Man Arrested for Possessing a Potato Peeler

While violent crime soars and rape gangs roam the streets

While violent crime in the UK continues to soar and grooming gangs roam the streets, a man in Scotland was imprisoned and charged for the crime of possessing a potato peeler in public.

No, this isn’t the Onion.

“A man ended up behind bars after being found in a Dunfermline street with an offensive weapon, a potato peeler,” reports the Dunfermline Press.

The man, who has “significant learning difficulties,” subsequently appeared in court and was charged with “possession of an object that which had a blade or was sharply pointed.”

39-year-old Scott Walker will return to court on May 16th for sentencing.

And this story once again illustrates why policing in the UK is a complete joke.

Putin’s Collapsing Credibility

by Srdja Trifkovic

Tens of thousands of Armenians converged on the capital Yerevan on Wednesday morning, blocking roads and government buildings in protest over the ruling party’s reluctance to transfer power in the country to opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan. Protesters said they would stay on the streets for as long as it takes to oust the ruling Republican Party and install Pashinyan as prime minister. Apparently it worked: by the end of the day Pashinyan announced that all parties would support his bid for power, and called for an end to protests. “The issue has practically been solved,” he told the cheering crowd at a rally in Yerevan. “All [parliamentary] factions say they will support my candidacy.”

The regime-change operation in Armenia has been a textbook color revolution every step of the way, tried and tested in Belgrade (2000), Tbilisi (2003), and most notably Kiev (2004, repeated 2014). There is a significant difference, however. Unlike Serbia, Georgia or Ukraine, Armenia is a formal ally of the Russian Federation, a member of the Moscow-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC)—two pillars of President Vladimir Putin’s presumed geopolitical strategy. Significantly, Armenia also hosts a major Russian military base in Gyumri, leased until 2044, which the current government’s defense minister Vigen Sargasyan described last year as “a vital component of our country’s national security system.”

Armenia is déjà vu all over again. “Envision people from all walks of life—students, teachers, workers, artists, journalists, clergy, soldiers—smiling, laughing, and hugging one another,” a friendly observer gushed. “A sea of flags . . . fills the square, and taxi drivers are honking their horns and popping champagne. The atmosphere is stirring and electric! These are ordinary people who stood up for transparent and accountable government. They mobilized to fight for a cause from a grassroots level, and they eventually won against almost impossible odds.”

Unsurprisingly, the “ordinary people” interviewed for major Western networks just happened to be young, well-groomed, fluent English-speakers. Initially they demanded the resignation of recently appointed prime minister Serzh Sargasyan, who had been Armenia’s president for a decade before arranging—contrary to earlier promises—the sideways move to the new post, which would let him keep old power. In the early days of protests Sargsyan appears to have expected support and advice from Moscow, and—failing to get it—resigned on April 23 with a strangely worded statement: “The street movement is against my tenure. I am fulfilling your demand.” But his admission of defeat no longer satisfied the protesters, however, who shifted their demand to an outright regime change, i.e. immediate transfer of power to Pashinyan…

Shares in a Buffett-Backed Chinese Car Company Are Getting Crushed

The rout in BYD Co. shares is nearing $9 billion as investors desert what was the world’s top stock only months ago.

Its recommendation consensus — a gauge of analyst confidence in a stock on a scale of 1 to 5 — stands at 3.7, the lowest in almost three years.

Investors and analysts alike are losing faith in BYD’s ability to thrive with fewer government subsidies and growing competition, with the company last week predicting first-half profit may tumble as much as 83 percent.

Swedish Mother of Toddler Gang Raped by Three “Child” Refugees — They Even Took Photos

A woman from Kalmar was gang raped by three Afghans after a dinner party, Fria Tider reports. The refugees violently assaulted the woman during a walk. They made fun of her, raped her and took very disturbing pictures of her during the attack.

In September 2017 the woman, a mother of a toddler, had a dinner party at her and her husband’s residence in Kalmar. In the evening she took a walk and when she began to feel unwell, she rang her husband. Just after the refugee “minors” appeared and began following her.

Having followed her a little while, they attacked her and forced her down a small road. “They laughed at me like it was fun. They pulled down my trousers and panties”, the victim said during the trial.

Trudeau Wants to Let Anyone With a Driver’s Licence Vote — Like Those 50,000 Syrian Migrants

Justin Trudeau has introduced an extremely long and complicated new bill, called Bill C-76, to change our elections laws.

Here’s one key passage. Voters will require:

“…one piece of identification issued by a Canadian government, whether federal, provincial or local, or an agency of that government, that contains a photograph of the elector and his or her name and address.”

Do you notice what’s missing there?

Being a citizen.

Have you ever had a cab driver who wasn’t a citizen? Well, he has a driver’s licence. Under these Liberal rules, he can vote. You can also get a health care card without being a citizen.

  1. The assailant attacked a policeman, shouted to Allah Akbar, had earlier tried to join IS, but at the same time … HE WAS NOT A TERRORIST!
    https://www.kavkazr.com/a/29206423.html

As reported by the local news agency “Pobeda26” with reference to his sources in law enforcement agencies, the attacker shouted “Allah Akbar” at the entrance, he had a backpack with him, from which during the attack on the policeman there was a clap. In addition, it was noted that earlier the attacker was convicted of attempting to join the “Islamic State” (IS) extremist organization.
In turn, the IG on May 2 took responsibility for the attack on the police.

    What miracles!

    • That is good news indeed.

On the other hand, I just heard that in Germany, the mere mention of the n word, as in nazism, can lead to having your phone conversation immediately cut off.

And a Hungarian is telling me Orban is heavily corrupt, building an expensive stadium in his village, and you can’t get anything done unless you have his party backing. Any Hungarians wanting to comment?

      • »lead to having your phone conversation immediately cut off.«

Huh? These days it’s not unusual that we have to talk about “Neger” in Germany and this never caused my phone connection to stop.

      • Who ” just told you” this paranoic [material I deprecate]?
Should ” they” survey 55 million phones?
Ever been to Roswell NM? To the studios where the moonlanding was produced?

Here’s the stupidity of Swedish socialists right out in the open. So Annika thinks having a seminar for Afghan migrants telling them “when a woman says no, it means no” is going to change the attitudes and actions of these barbarians? She will be disappointed. The key issue is not “strange view of sex and togetherness” it’s the strange and unacceptable view of people who are not muslims. You have to deal first with a cultural and religious dogma what treats non muslims as inferior beings unworthy of respect. Drive that from their thinking and you might see Swedish women being given some respect. But it’s a lost cause as only by rejecting Islam will change result. Chance of success Annika? Not high. Hopefully the voters will toss out these fools before they do further damage.

    • Muslims already have a guide for dealing with unbelieving women – this is the Koran.
Annika dared to encroach on the sacred. Throw her in jail for intolerance.
