The Euro’s Battle for Survival

Entering the Red Zone

In this paper, Bob Lyddon explores the various caveats and consequences of the Eurozone’s survival and continuation, and discusses the UK’s role in or alongside the Eurosystem post-Brexit. As an expert in international banking, Lyddon works through his own consultancy company, Lyddon Consulting Services, and has written for the Bruges Group on several occasions in the past. His areas of expertise include banking regulation, the sovereign debt crisis, and international money transfer and electronic banking.

Lyddon argues that, contrary to the indications of UK Remainers, there has been no Eurozone economic recovery, and that the attempts to prop it up will have disastrous effects if followed through.T

Court Forces Harvard to Publish Confidential Admissions Documents in Asian-Discrimination Lawsuit

Harvard’s “recipe” is going to be made public.

Some of it, at least: A federal judge ordered Harvard to publish a subset of admissions documents at issue in the Asian-discrimination lawsuit filed against the university, The Harvard Crimson reports.

The school will work with the plaintiffs, represented by Students for Fair Admissions, within the next two months to agree on redactions to the previously confidential documents. They will also file an unredacted set under seal with the court.

Judge Allison Burroughs warned both parties not to redact the documents so much they become “incomprehensible” to the public.

The plaintiffs told Burroughs earlier that these documents, which they have seen in full, objectively show that Harvard discriminated against Asian-American applicants for decades.

IPT Exclusive: Brooklyn Imam Advocates Violence Against Israel in Anti-Semitic Sermon

An extremist imam used his Friday prayer last week to call on Muslims and Palestinians to disavow non-violent protest against Israel. But the imam was not preaching from the West Bank or Gaza Strip. This imam was yet another spiritual leader espousing radical views from the United States, joining a long list of other U.S.-based Muslim leaders who have promoted anti-Semitism and incited violence against Jews and Israelis.

Mohamed Elbar — an imam at the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge (a.k.a. Masjid Musab) — delivered a sermon in Brooklyn April 13 that amounted to violent incitement.

ISO Blocks NSA’s Latest IoT Encryption Systems Amid Murky Tales of Backdoors and Bullying

Two new encryption algorithms developed by the NSA have been rejected by an international standards body amid accusations of threatening behavior.

The “Simon” and “Speck” cryptographic tools were designed for secure data to and from the next generation of internet-of-things gizmos and sensors, and were intended to become a global standard.

But the pair of techniques were formally rejected earlier this week by the International Organization of Standards (ISO) amid concerns that they contained a backdoor that would allow US spies to break the encryption. The process was also marred by complaints from encryption experts of threatening behavior from American snoops.

The ISO’s meetings are confidential and held behind closed doors, but a number of encryption experts have broken their silence now that the NSA’s three-year effort to push has effectively been ended.

NY Judge Rules That Bars, Restaurants Can Refuse to Serve Trump Supporters

A judge in Manhattan ruled Wednesday that it is not a violation of the law to refuse service to a supporter of the sitting President, and that they can be asked to leave the premises on those grounds, without recourse.

The case came about when Philadelphia resident Greg Piatek claimed he was refused service and told to leave a bar in New York in January 2017 because he was wearing a Trump “Make American Great Again” hat.

Piatek says The Happiest Hour bar told him that “Anyone who supports Trump — or believes in what you believe — is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!”

In his lawsuit Piatek said that the incident “offended his sense of being an American,” while the bar claimed it is a “publicity stunt.”

The New York Post reports that Justice David Cohen ruled in favor of the bar because the political discrimination is not against the law, only religious discrimination.

[Comment: Great idea. Restaurants should proudly post “We Hate Trump Supporters” signs and watch their customer base dwindle. This is better and safer for Trump supporters, afer all who knows what such rabid leftists would put in the food given to Trump supporters.]]

UC Berkeley Must Face Lawsuit Alleging Bias Against Conservative Speakers

(Reuters) — A federal judge rejected the University of California at Berkeley’s bid to dismiss a lawsuit claiming it discriminated against conservative speakers like Ann Coulter by imposing unreasonable restrictions and fees on their appearances.

Visualizing the Multi-Billion Dollar Industry That Makes Its Living From Your Data

In the ocean ecosystem, plankton is the raw material that fuels an entire food chain. These tiny organisms on their own aren’t that remarkable, but en masse, they have a huge impact on the world.

Here on dry land, Visual Capitalist’s Nick Routley notes that the massive volume of content and meta data we produce fuels a marketing research industry that is worth nearly $50 billion.

Every instant message, page click, and step you take now produces a data point that can be used to build a detailed profile of who you are.

The coarse-grained demographics and contact information of yesteryear seems quaint compared to today’s sophisticated data collection battleground. In the past, marketers would make judgement calls on your likely income and family structure based on where you lived, and you’d receive “targeted” mail and calls from telemarketers. Loyalty programs and the emergence of web analytics pushed things a little further.

Today, the steady march of technological advancement has created a vast data collection empire that measures every aspect of your digital life and, increasingly, your offline life as well. Facebook alone uses nearly one hundred data points to target ads to you — everything from your marital status to whether you’ve been on vacation lately or not. Telecoms have access to extremely detailed information on your location. Apple has biometric data.

Also watching your every move are web trackers. “Cookie-syncing” is one of the sneaky ways advertisers can follow you around the internet. Basically, cookie-syncing allows third parties to share browsing information at such a large scale that even the NSA “piggybacks” off them for surveillance purposes.

Montreal Robberies: Man Accused of Feeding Victims Drug-Laced Chocolate

Crime Rate Skyrockets in Culturally Enriched Britain, London Murder Rate Jumps 44%

Crime rates are skyrocketing across the board in multicultural Britain.

From The Daily Mail:

A knife crime epidemic in London and England’s big cities has seen the number of offences involving blades soar by more than a fifth in the last year.

Police in England and Wales recorded 39,598 offences involving blades in the year ending December 2017, a 22% increase compared with the previous year.

London saw a 44% increase in the number of killings, with more than 150 victims, while the number knife offences in the capital rose by more than 20 per cent to 14,680, separate stats showed.

The stats were released amid growing concern at the spiralling number of deadly attacks on the capital’s streets, with more than 60 people killed since the start of 2018.

I think we can all agree, as Labour MP Naz Shah retweeted last year, all these crime victims need to “shut their mouths for the good of diversity!”

Italy: MPS’s Profumo and Viola Indicted for Derivatives

Also Salvadori, trial to start July 17

(ANSA) — Milan, April 27 — Former Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) chiefs Alessandro Profumo, now Leonardo CEO, and Fabrizio Viola, as well as former college of auditors chief Paolo Salvadori, were indicted in a derivatives case on Friday.

The MPS bank was also indicted as such.

The trial will start July 17.

Prosecutors had asked the judge to acquit all four.

The charges are share-rigging (except for Salvadori), and accountancy fraud in accounts for the Santorini and Alexandria derivatives.

Profumo said “I am surprised but my conscience is clear”.

“We will prove that what we did was correct, and I have total faith in the magistrature,” he said.

In December a Florence appeals court acquitted three former MPS chiefs, Giuseppe Mussari, Antonio Vigni and Gianluca Baldassarri, of charges related to the restructuring of the Alexandria derivative.

The three had been convicted and handed jail terms of three years, six months in the first-instance trial.

MPS has seen a welter of probes and woes in recent years and has gone through an expensive turnaround.

Italy: 2 North Africans Nabbed for Milan Stabbing Spree

Killed Bangladeshi man, injured British woman student

(ANSA) — Milan, April 27 — Two North African men were arrested Friday in connection with a spree of violence in Milan Thursday night. The other two episodes Carabinieri suspected the pair of committing are wounding a 31-year-old Italian with two stab wounds to the abdomen and chest to get his wallet at Cinisello Balsamo on the Milan outskirts, and an attack on a 36-year-old Peruvian, beaten up and injured to rob him of two cellphones at Cinisello.

Italy: Mussolini Clashes With Macerata Mayor Over Duce Pinata

FI MEP says first citizen shd apologise

(ANSA) — Macerata, April 27 — Centre-right Forza Italia MEP and granddaughter of Benito Mussolini Alessandra Mussolini nearly came to blows with centre-left Democratic Party (PD) Macerata Mayor Romano Carancini after visiting the Marche city two days after an anti-Fascist group put up a pinata puppet of Il Duce resembling his hanging by the feet in a Milan square after he was shot by Italian partisans in 1944, and urged children to smash it to get sweets on Liberation Day.

Mussolini said the pinata was a “disgrace, an obscene act” and demanded the mayor apologise to the city and withdraw the mandate of a councillor.

“You should be ashamed,” replied Carancini.

Mussolini said Macerata, which saw a neo-Nazi shoot four African migrants February 4 after a Roman woman was found chopped up in two suitcases at the end of January, was “a city that is a theatre of violence that must leave more space for democracy, for uniting people.

“A puppet was hung head down! What message does that send?”.

Mussolini urged Italian President Sergio Mattarella to “say something” about the incident.

Fascist dictator Mussolini was hanged by the feet with his mistress Claretta Petacci and other Fascist high-ups in Milan’s Piazzale Loreto, and a mob smashed his head in.

Italy: Salvini Severed Head Hanging Down in Stickers in Pavia

(ANSA) — Pavia, April 27 — Anti-migrant Euroskeptic League leader Matteo Salvini was pictured with his severed head hanging down in stickers that have appeared over the past few days on walls and lamp posts in Pavia, La Provincia Pavese newspaper said Friday.

Salvini said Friday “these are idiots and cowards, I’m going forward”.

Alongside Salvini, their severed heads also swinging, were US President Donald Trump, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The stickers were captioned Make Fascists Swing Again.

DIGOS security police are investigating.

The pose resembled that of Benito Mussolini who was strung up by the feet in a Milan square after being shot by partisans in 1944.

Centre-right Forza Italia (FI) Senate Whip voiced “solidarity with Salvini, let’s stop this hatred and intolerance”.

League Veneto Governor Luca Zaia described the episode as “uncivilised, without any motivation”.

Kippah and the City: German Jews Urged to Avoid Wearing Skull Caps After Berlin Attack

Germany is becoming increasingly unsafe for Jews to publicly identify themselves

A Jewish community leader in Germany has advised Jews to not publicly wear kippahs in parts of big cities in the wake of a recent anti-Semitic assault on a man wearing one in Berlin.

Germany is becoming increasingly unsafe for Jews to publicly identify themselves amid a wave of anti-Semitic incidents, Josef Schuster, the head of Germany’s Central Council of Jews, said in an interview with local radio RBB24. The comment follows the April 16 attack on Jewish man Adam Armush and his friend in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood. Armush, who was wearing a kippah — a traditional Jewish head garment — filmed and shared the assault online, provoking a massive reaction. In response, the local Jewish community has planned a protest dubbed “Berlin wears a kippah,” which has since been supported in other cities.

However, while Schuster believes that defiantly wearing a kippah would be the right response “in principle,” he advised Jews to stay on the safe side in big cities, and maybe settle for a baseball cap instead. In “problem neighborhoods with large Muslim populations… it might be better to choose a different head covering,” he said.

‘Bury Them Alive!’: White South Africans Fear for Their Future as Horrific Farm Attacks Escalate

NEARLY every day, horrific acts of rape, torture and murder are carried out on a community under siege. WARNING: Graphic.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

LAST month, British woman Sue Howarth and her husband Robert Lynn were woken at 2am by three men breaking into a window of their remote farm in Dullstroom, a small town in the northeast of South Africa, about 240km from the nearest capital city.

The couple, who had lived in the area for 20 years, were tied up, stabbed, and tortured with a blowtorch for several hours. The masked men stuffed a plastic bag down Mrs Howarth’s throat, and attempted to strangle her husband with a bag around his neck.

The couple were bundled into their own truck, still in their pyjamas, and driven to a roadside where they were shot. Mrs Howarth, 64, a former pharmaceutical company executive, was shot twice in the head. Mr Lynn, 66, was shot in the neck.

Victims are often restrained, harmed with weapons such as machetes and pitchforks, burned with boiling water or hot irons, dragged behind vehicles and shot. Female victims are often raped during attacks.

74-Year-Old Swedish Woman Prosecuted for Criticizing Mass Immigration

Scandinavian country deals with dissent by punishing pensions for Facebook posts

A 74-year-old woman in Stockholm was prosecuted and fined for a Facebook post in which she criticized the number of African migrants arriving in Sweden.

According to the prosecution, the woman responded to an article about African immigrants by writing, “Why do these individuals not go home to Africa again.”

The woman also wrote other posts that the prosecution said were “negative to Muslims and immigration.”

The pensioner was convicted for “breach of opinion against a public group” and will now have to pay a fine of 12,250 SEK (around $1500 dollars).

Instead of having an honest national conversation about the impact of mass immigration, which has contributed to soaring violent crime and rape cases in the country, Sweden has instead embarked on a campaign of intimidation and censorship…

In another case, a woman was interrogated by police, had her DNA taken and was subsequently imprisoned for the “crime” of sharing a joke meme about Islam on Facebook.

Afghan Migrants Convicted for Rape of Swedish Anti-Deportation Activist

The rape and sexual assault of the Swedish woman, said to be in her 40s, occurred on boxing day of last year when she met the pair of Afghans near a hotel in the city of Ljungby, the Daily Mail reports.

The men, later identified as Anwar Hassani and Fardi Hesari, spoke with the victim who showed interested in them after learning they had come from Afghanistan.

The three then returned to the migrants’ residence to have a drink and while there, Anwar Hassani began molesting her after she had laid down on a mattress.

Disrespectful Migrants Attack Swedish Pensioners and Hit Elderly Man in the Face

It all started after a bunch of migrant youths were causing trouble outside a restaurant

Last Friday a fight between migrants and pensioners took place in the Swedish coastal town of Lysekil. Emerged video footage shows how one of the migrants swings at an elderly man in the face during the conflict.

It all started after a bunch of migrant youths were causing trouble outside a restaurant, Sverige Radio reports. The migrants knocked out the restaurant’s windows and attacked the elderly guests that confronted them.

The footage shows how the situation escalated and how an elderly man is hit in the face by a youngster that was calmed down.

Also insulting words like “hora” (hooker) can be heard in the video. “Do not film me if you want to keep your mobile”, says a Somali boy to the person holding the camera at the end of the video.

After the police arrived the situation calmed down. It’s unclear if anybody was arrested. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

German is Becoming a ‘Foreign Language’ In Germany’s Prisons

The number of foreigners in German prisons is increasing and as a result, the use of German language is becoming problematic, the Berliner Morgenpost reports.

In Hamburg, 58 percent of inmates are of foreign origin, and in Berlin, their proportion is at 47 percent. Horst Hund, chairman of the prison committee, thinks the migrant crisis is partly responsible:

“At least for Rhineland-Palatinate, the trend has intensified frm the year 2015. The assumption is obvious that the wave of immigration has to do with it”.

Between states, the numbers differ: In Bavaria, it is 42.3 percent (was 30.5) and in Thuringia, it is currently at 12 percent.

The Political Debate Over Migrants Hasn’t Turned Ugly Yet — But it Could

The Liberals want the Conservatives to watch their words. The Conservatives want a plan. They’re both right.

[…]No. They’re not.

All our political parties serve the same masters and it isn’t you and it isn’t me. All believe in open door immigration and neither cares where that comes from so long as the “economy” read a surplus of cheap labour is maintained and ethnic vote whoring is built in to the election process.

We no longer need mass immigration and certainly not from backward nations with toxic ideologies. The lies of multiculturalism and diversity shield and prevent politicians from honestly addressing the subject and the toll it takes on society in the form of contrived shortages in housing, suppressed wages, and the strain on public services. The divide and conquer Balkinization of our nation is deliberate because you must be silenced. Public dissent is demonized as racism or white supremacism or simply hate as the political class will stop at nothing to prevent lifting the veil on the great replacement.

Confirmed: Facebook’s Recent Algorithm Change is Crushing Conservative Sites, Boosting Liberals

Facebook’s much-publicized demotion of publishers’ content in users’ news feeds has negatively impacted conservative-leaning publishers significantly more than liberal-leaning outlets, an analysis by The Western Journal has revealed.

Liberal publishers have gained about 2 percent more web traffic from Facebook than they were getting prior to the algorithm changes implemented in early February.

On the other hand, conservative publishers have lost an average of nearly 14 percent of their traffic from Facebook.

This algorithm change, intentional or not, has in effect censored conservative viewpoints on the largest social media platform in the world. This change has ramifications that, in the short-term, are causing conservative publishers to downsize or fold up completely, and in the long-term could swing elections in the United States and around the world toward liberal politicians and policies.

  1. “An unaccompanied refugee “child” has been sentenced to 6 months of youth detention for raping a 12-year-old girl in Sweden.”

This judge, and other Swedish judges, are insulting and demeaning ordinary decent Swedes. *Six months* for rape. How utterly bizarre.

    • You might know of the Suidlanders, but I post this for those who don’t

      https://suidlanders.org/

which takes anyone on a journey through a prepared response to failure of nation state.

I know in the US there are preppers and smaller militias, in western Europe not so much…I guess we have it all under control here…. maybe…or not….. .

  2. “The Euro’s battle for survival” is correct in my opinion, both that there is no EU economic revival and that there are moves waiting to complete the integration into a single state with shared issuance and budget.

As I am in Europe, well it is not a happy scenario to put it bluntly, they really are playing with fire when it comes to transferring greater authority to EU. The old system (traditional politics) has lost its reputation in several countries, and we are left with flash in the pan brews that are either distasteful to a majority or simply so hybrid of concoction that they have no deep meaning or direction beyond a sad vote catching exercise, where their only moderation is to cede power to outside of the country voluntarily instead of corruptly – a blatance that pretends to innocence.

This whole is kept afloat across EU tentatively, but sometimes it looks like a constraint where if anyone does anything out of line the whole construct will collapse. Themes are invented to keep the attention somewhere away from the wider picture, to conjure some kind of domestic importance, but they are a poor distraction from the discontent and confusion that exists in society. If or when the shift is attempted towards further EU control, it will only have the true support of a minority of any population, the rift will open as local politicians will be seen openly as servants to EU.
