A knife-wielding attacker emerged from the sea and stabbed six women, two of them fatally, at the Egyptian resort of Hurghada on the Red Sea. The assailant reportedly swam from another beach to the hotel frontage where the attack occurred. The two dead women were German tourists, and the wounded are variously reported as two Czechs and two Ukrainians, or three Czechs and an Armenian. No motive has been adduced for the attack, except that the murderer specifically targeted non-Egyptian victims.
In other news, two teenagers were arrested in connection with last night’s five separate acid attacks in London. The young men who carried out the assaults were riding mopeds. No motive for the attacks has yet been established.

For years, Republicans have been promising to repeal Obamacare if we would just give them control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives. We did that, and now they are breaking that promise. Because even if “Obamacare 2.0” miraculously gets through the Senate, most of the essential elements of Obamacare will survive. If you look at the latest Senate bill, most of the Obamacare subsidies are still in there, many of the Obamacare taxes are still in there, and most of the Obamacare regulations are still in there. On top of everything else, the bill would create an absolutely massive health insurance company bailout superfund, and that is something that the Democrats never even dared to do. The bill being pushed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wouldn’t actually fix much of anything, and it certainly cannot be called a “repeal” of Obamacare.
I have said this before, and I will say it again. The Republicans got a bill to repeal Obamacare through Congress and on to Barack Obama’s desk in early 2016. Obama vetoed that bill, but now the Republicans should take that exact same bill and get it to Donald Trump’s desk.

UK Terror Plot Thwarted Within Minutes of Execution, Met Chief Reveals
Police have thwarted five terror attacks in the last few weeks including some which were “very close” to being carried out, Britain’s most senior police officer has said.
This year alone, the UK has been targeted by four terror attacks — three of which happened in London in busy and popular areas — which killed and injured scores of people.
Speaking on Nick Ferrari’s show on LBC on Friday, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said a “very large number of plots” have been foiled over the last few years.

UK: London Acid Attacks: Two Teens Arrested After Five Attacks in 90 Minutes
Following five acid attacks in London, two teenage boys have been arrested after two male suspects riding a moped targeted victims during a 90-minute spree.
The Metropolitan Police said one victim had been left with “life-changing” injuries after being doused on Thursday night in the east of the capital.
The assaults appeared to be linked and two involved victims having their mopeds stolen, they added.

2 German Tourists Fatally Stabbed in Attack on Women at Egyptian Resort
A man in his 20s stabbed six female tourists, two of them fatally, at a hotel in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Hurghada, the Egyptian Ministry of the Interior said Friday.
Two German women were killed in the attack, the Red Sea Security Directorate said, and the other four wounded. The women were taken to a hospital, the ministry said. The conditions of the surviving women were not immediately available.
The slain women were initially identified as being from Ukraine. The Red Sea Security Directorate confirmed that they are German, and said that two of the surviving women are from Czech Republic and the other two from Ukraine.
Hurghada General Hospital, where the women were taken, said however that three of the wounded women are Armenian and one is Czech.
The Ministry of the Interior said in a statement that the attack occurred at about 11 a.m., and that the assailant was taken into custody about noon. The statement said the man is being questioned, and that the ministry has established a security cordon around the site of the attack to ensure the safety of other tourists.
An eyewitness told the privately owned Al-Masry Al-Yawm newspaper that the attacker, who was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt, was speaking on the phone just before the assault.
“I saw him speak over the phone and heard him say that he will jump in the water, asking the person on the line to pick him up,” but as soon as he jumped into the water, police officers followed and caught him, the witness told the newspaper.
The witness, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, added that he had an encounter with the suspect, and that the man told him to stay away from him because “he does not want Egyptians. They are not the ones wanted (targeted).”

Jerusalem Temple Mount Shut Down After 5 Dead in ‘Allahu Akbar’ Terror Attack
Early Friday morning, three Arab citizens of Israel attacked Israeli police on the Temple Mount, killing two. This led Israeli security forces to close Jerusalem’s holiest site for Jews and Muslims, sparking outrage as Muslims intended to worship there on their holy day, Friday.
“We cannot allow for agents of murder, who desecrate the name of God, to drag us into a bloody war, and we will deal with a heavy hand against all the arms of terror, and its perpetrators,” Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said in a statement. “The state of Israel will defend its sovereignty and its citizens with a strong hand, and will not allow anyone to provoke the region into a bloody war.”

Two Israeli Policemen Shot Dead Near Jerusalem Holy Site, Gunmen Killed
JERUSALEM (Reuters) — Three Arab-Israeli gunmen shot dead two Israeli policemen near one of Jerusalem’s most holy places on Friday, and were then killed by security forces, police said.
It was one of the most serious attacks so close to the volatile holy site, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as Temple Mount, in years.
Israeli authorities shut the area to Muslims gathering for Friday prayers afterwards, drawing a call for resistance from Palestinian religious leaders.
The Palestinian Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Mohammad Hussein, called on Palestinians to defy the closure, and was later reported to have been detained.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but also said closing down the area could have repercussions.
The three gunmen arrived at the sacred site, which stands on a marble and stone plateau on the edge of Jerusalem’s Old City, and walked toward one of the nearby ancient stone gates, police spokeswoman Luba Simri said.
“When they saw policemen they shot toward them and then escaped toward one of the mosques in the Temple Mount compound,” Simri said. “A chase ensued and the three terrorists were killed by police.”
She said three firearms were found on their bodies. The Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security service, said the gunmen were all Arab citizens of Israel who were unknown to the authorities…

As Migrant Crisis Intensifies, Italy Debates Citizenship Rights
AFP — With a flood of migrants arriving on Italy’s shores, a bitter debate has erupted over whether children born on Italian soil to foreign parents should have citizenship rights at birth.
According to a poll published Thursday in the Messaggero daily, the idea of “ius soli” is losing support among Italians, even though such a path to citizenship exists in many other EU countries.
The Latin term “ius soli” refers to rights linked to the land (where you are born) as opposed to “ius sanguinis”, where rights are based on blood ties.
Children currently must have at least one Italian parent to enjoy citizenship rights. Those who do not can apply when they turn 18 but rules on time spent out of the country mean some are rejected.

Germany: Infectious Diseases Spreading as Migrants Settle in

A failed asylum seeker from Yemen who was given sanctuary at a church in northern Germany to prevent him from being deported has potentially infected more than 50 German children with a highly contagious strain of tuberculosis.
The man, who was sheltered at a church in Bünsdorf between January and May 2017, was in frequent contact with the children, some as young as three, who were attending a day care center at the facility. He was admitted to a hospital in Rendsburg in June and subsequently diagnosed with tuberculosis — a disease which only recently has reentered the German consciousness. …
In an interview with Focus, Carsten Boos, an orthopedic surgeon, warned that German authorities have lost track of hundreds of thousands of migrants who may be infected. He added that 40% of all tuberculosis pathogens are multidrug-resistant and therefore inherently dangerous to the general population:
“When asylum seekers come from countries with a high risk for tuberculosis infections, the RKI, as the highest German body for infection protection, should not downplay the danger. Is a federal institute using political correctness to conceal the unpleasant reality?
“The media reports that in 2015, the federal police registered about 1.1 million refugees. Around 700,000 to 800,000 applications for asylum were submitted and 300,000 refugees have disappeared. Have they been checked? Do they come from the high risk countries?
“One has the impression that in the RKI the left hand does not know what the right one is doing.” …
The German Society for Gastroenterology, Digestive and Metabolic Diseases recently held a five-day symposium in Hamburg to help medical practitioners diagnose diseases which are rarely seen in Germany. Those include:
Louse-borne relapsing fever (LBRF): During the past two years, at least 48 people in Germany were diagnosed with LBRF, a disease that was unheard of in the country before the migration crisis in 2015, according to the RKI report. The disease, which is transmitted by clothing lice, has been prevalent among migrants from East Africa who have been travelling for months to reach Germany on a single set of clothes. “We had all forgotten about LBRF,” said Hans Jäger, a Munich-based doctor. “It has a mortality rate of up to 40% if it is not recognized and not treated with antibiotics. The symptoms are like in malaria: fever, headache, skin rash.”

Germany: Migration Agency Slammed After Asking Homosexual Asylum Seekers to Prove They Are Gay
The German Federal Agency for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) has come under fire for asking asylum seekers intimate sexual questions in order to prove they are homosexual.
Gay and Lesbian groups have criticised BAMF after a report claimed that the agency was asking intimate and specific questions regarding the sexual experiences of asylum seekers claiming to be homosexual. The agency allegedly asked one asylum seeker from Pakistan in November of 2016 how many times he and his partner had sex and asked him how it felt Süddeutsche Zeitung reports.

How Social Media Stifle Free Speech
One of the greatest contemporary battles for individual liberty and freedom of the press is being conducted in cyber space.
Today, political, journalistic and corporate elites are in the process of trying to control, and even rewrite, “story lines” of history and current events with which they might disagree, and that they see slipping through their fingers.

The Islamic View of “Feminism”

Muslim activist and Women’s March organizer, Linda Sarsour, has helpfully exposed a side of Islam that is pro-Sharia and pro-jihad:
“I hope that … when we stand up to those who oppress our communities, that Allah accepts from us that as a form of jihad, that we are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad in the Middle East or on the other side of the world, but here in these United States of America, where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reigning in the White House.”
Although Sarsour later protested that the word jihad literally means “struggle” or that “our beloved prophet … said… ‘A word of truth in front of a tyrant ruler or leader, that is the best form of jihad,’“ that is not what the word jihad means in general parlance to anyone you might ask in the Middle East. The people there know only too well that if they even tried to speak a “word of truth” to someone in power, that could possibly be the last word they would ever utter. …
What the West needs to know is that in the Muslim world, jihad is considered more important than women, family happiness and life itself. If we are told, as Sarsour said, that Islam stands for peace and justice, what we are not told is that “peace” in Islam will come only after the whole world has converted to Islam, and that “justice” means law under Sharia: whatever is inside Sharia is “justice;” whatever is not in Sharia is not “justice.”

UK Hasidic School Faced With Closure for Not Teaching LGBT
An ultra-Orthodox girls’ elementary school in London may be forced to close after failing to meet government standards because it does not teach about homosexuality and transgender issues.The Vishnitz Girls School, a private elementary school in the London suburb of Stamford Hill, failed three consecutive inspections from UK’s Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) according to a report released last month. Although the school received a positive review in almost every area, it failed the inspection because “they do not teach pupils about all the protected characteristics, particularly those relating to gender re-assignment and sexual orientation.”
The school, which has 212 pupils aged between three and eight years old, was rated as “good” by inspectors four years ago. But now the government may force it to close down.
According to the Ofsted report the religious values of the school mean it cannot comply with government requirements. “The proprietor and leaders agreed that the school’s policy on the protected characteristics meant that the school could not meet these standards,” the report stated.
“The school’s approach means that pupils are shielded from learning about certain differences between people, such as sexual orientation,” inspectors wrote. “This means that pupils have a limited understanding of the different lifestyles and partnerships that individuals may choose in present-day society.”
Inspectors said that the school, which caters to the local Vizhnitz hasidic community, covers “all the required areas of learning for the proposed increase in age range, from three to eight years to three to 12 years.”
Ofsted also acknowledged that the school showed tolerance to other cultures and value systems. “The school’s culture is, however, clearly focused on teaching pupils to respect everybody, regardless of beliefs and lifestyle,” the report said.
Staff were praised in the report, which stated that “teachers’ good subject knowledge and high-quality classroom resources inspire pupils with enthusiasm for learning and to achieve well.”
Yet because of its failure to teach about different sexual orientations the school was threatened with closure.

Why is a hospital fighting so hard to block parents with a child dying from a rare condition from getting experimental medical treatment another hospital is offering for free? Would it damage the reputation of the hospital “revered as one of the world’s best children’s hospitals” if another hospital succeeded where they failed?
Perhaps. But in arguing to kill the baby rather than allowing someone else to treat him, they said “a world where ONLY PARENTS SPEAK & DECIDE FOR CHILDREN and where children have NO SEPARATE IDENTITY or rights and no court to hear & protect them is far from the world in which [this hospital] treats its child patients.” They may be trying to protect their reputation, but they were appealing to the court and reminding it that it is subject to the UNCCR, the United Nations Convention on Child Rights.
