Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/19/2017

The man who drove a rented van into a crowd of people outside Finsbury Park Mosque in London has now been identified as 47-year-old Darren Osborne. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Theresa May promised British Muslims that she would do her utmost to crack down on Islamophobia as the important feast of Eid al-Fitr approaches.

In other news, a local al Qaeda affiliate has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s terrorist attack in Mali. The death toll in the attack has risen to five, one of them a Chinese national.

Democrats Are Already Using the Shooting of Steve Scalise to Call for More Gun Control

The left never lets a good crisis go to waste. Within hours of the shooting of U.S. Representative Steve Scalise and other Republicans at a baseball field in Virginia, top Democrats were already calling for more gun control. Of course the shooter, 66-year-old James Hodgkinson, is from a state that already has some of the toughest gun laws in the entire nation. And the largest city in Illinois, Chicago, is plagued by rampant gun violence on a daily basis. Alternatively, crime rates tend to be very low where rates of gun ownership are very high. Up here in north Idaho, anyone that would dare to break into homes at night would have a very, very short criminal career. Gun owners are the number one crime deterrent, but liberals still don’ t understand this.

Every time an Islamic terrorist or a crazed leftist starts shooting people, the left immediately pounces on it as an excuse to start promoting gun control again. For example, just consider what Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe had to say just hours after the shooting…

‘Julius Caesar’, Antifa and Kathy Griffin All Show That the Left Has Absolutely No Positive Message to Offer

The endgame of the radical left is a nation filled with hatred, anger and violence. Is this really a message that the American people are going to embrace? For decades, Democrats have been getting a tremendous amount of mileage out of “ divide and conquer” tactics. In other words, they get one group of people to support them by pointing a finger of accusation at another group. Just recently, I published an article entitled “ A List Of 100 Things That Liberals Hate About America” , and I could have easily doubled or tripled that list. The left specializes in hate, and the presidency of Donald Trump has been like throwing red meat to a bunch of sharks that are in a feeding frenzy. Lacking any kind of a positive message to share, the left is in the process of self-destructing as they show the entire world how intellectually and morally bankrupt they truly are.

The New York theater group that is producing a twisted version of “ Julius Caesar” in which a character that is dressed up just like Donald Trump is viciously assassinated is a perfect example of what I am talking about. The following comes from Piers Morgan…

The play portrays Caesar as a tempestuous, petulant blond-haired businessman in an expensive business suit with an American pin flag and over-long ties who takes baths in a gold bathtub.

His wife Calpurnia has an Eastern European accent and wears designer clothes.

So, it’ s Donald Trump.

It ends with Caesar/Trump being brutally murdered by Roman senators who fear he has become too power hungry.

Only in this case, the assassins are all women and minorities, two groups that Trump has been accused of marginalising.

By the end of the assassination scene, Trump’ s shirt is absolutely soaked with blood, and it is quite obvious that the producers intended to create a spectacle that is as gruesome as they could possibly get away with.

But instead of reacting to this play with horror, many on the left are absolutely gushing over it. For instance, CNN’ s Fareed Zakaria actually called it “ a masterpiece” .

And despite all of the public outrage that we have seen in recent days, Time Warner, the New York Times and the New York City government plan to continue funding the production.

Even more alarming than “ Julius Caesar” is the relentless campaign of violence and intimidation being waged by Antifa. They are supposed to be “ anti-fascists” , but instead they employ many of the exact same tactics and methods that hardcore fascists used all the way back in the 1930s. If these radical leftists ultimately have their way in our society, free speech will become a thing of the past. The following comes from a National Review article…

Man Charged With Murder After Girl Went Missing Upon Leaving Mosque in Northern Virginia

Police in Northern Virginia found remains Sunday thought to be those of a missing Reston teenager who they say was assaulted and disappeared overnight after leaving a mosque in the Sterling area, and a 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the case.

The mosque, the All Dulles Area Muslim Society in Sterling, and relatives identified the girl as 17-year-old Nabra Hassanen of Reston.

Fairfax County police identified the man charged with murder in her death as Darwin Martinez Torres of Sterling.

According to accounts from police and a mosque official, a group of four or five teens were walking back from breakfast at IHOP early Sunday when they were confronted by a motorist. All but one of the teens ran to the mosque, where the group reported that the girl had been left behind, according to a spokeswoman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

“Immediately thereafter, the ADAMS’ personnel notified both Loudoun County and Fairfax County authorities, who immediately began an extensive search to locate the missing girl,” the mosque said in a statement.

Loudoun and Fairfax police jointly conducted an hourslong search around Dranesville Road and Woodson Drive in Herndon, which is in Fairfax. Remains thought to be the girl’s were found about 3 p.m. Sunday in a pond in the 21500 block of Ridgetop Circle in Sterling.

During the search, an officer spotted a motorist driving suspiciously in the area and arrested Torres, police said.

Police said they collected several articles of evidence but declined to provide further details. The girl’s mother said detectives told her that Nabra was struck with a metal bat…

NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope Finds Hundreds of New Exoplanets, Boosts Total to 4,034

NASA has unveiled the complete set of data from the first four years of the agency’s Kepler Space Telescope mission, which stared at a single patch of the sky in the search for alien planets. The result: Kepler has discovered 219 new candidates since NASA’s last data unveiling, including 10 near-Earth-size planet candidates in the so-called habitable zone around their stars where the conditions are just right for liquid water to exist on a planet’s surface — a key feature in the search for habitable worlds.

The new discoveries boost Kepler’s total to 4,034 candidate planets during its mission, 2,335 of which were later confirmed by follow-up observations, NASA officials said in a statement. The 10 newfound potentially Earth-size worlds bring Kepler’s total up to 50 of that type of exoplanet, with more than 30 of those being confirmed, NASA officials said during a briefing today (June 19).

The researchers also revealed a surprising divide between small, Earth-like planets and mini-Neptunes gleaned from the data.

Officials: 17-Year-Old Muslim Girl Assaulted and Killed After Leaving Virginia Mosque

The death of a Virginia teenager who police say was assaulted and then disappeared after leaving a mosque in the Sterling area isn’t being investigated as a hate crime, authorities said Monday.

On Sunday, police found the girl’s remains and a 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the case.

The mosque, the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) in Sterling, and relatives identified the girl as 17-year-old Nabra Hassanen of Reston.

Fairfax County police identified the man charged with murder in her death as Darwin Martinez Torres of Sterling. On Monday, they did not release any explanation as to why they weren’t investigating the murder as a hate crime.

According to accounts from police and a mosque official, a group of four or five teens were walking back from breakfast at IHOP early Sunday when they were confronted by a motorist. All but one of the teens ran to the mosque, where the group reported that the girl had been left behind, according to Deputy Aleksandra Kowalski, a spokeswoman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Only Mass Deportation Can Save America

by Bret Stephens

Bottom line: So-called real Americans are screwing up America. Maybe they should leave, so that we can replace them with new and better ones: newcomers who are more appreciative of what the United States has to offer, more ambitious for themselves and their children, and more willing to sacrifice for the future. In other words, just the kind of people we used to be — when “we” had just come off the boat.

O.K., so I’m jesting about deporting “real Americans” en masse. (Who would take them in, anyway?) But then the threat of mass deportations has been no joke with this administration.

Republicans Delude Themselves With Demands for More Civility

Restoring civility was the talk of Washington after a crazed leftist opened fire on Republican congressman as they attended a Wednesday baseball practice.

The act of political violence shocked the nation, but it was determined by the powers that be that it wasn’t the time to wonder about who was responsible for inciting the left-wing gunman to kill GOP lawmakers. It was apparently just a reminder that we need to be more civil to one another.

There Have Been 296 Earthquakes in the Vicinity of the Yellowstone Supervolcano Within the Last 7 Days

“Pocket of lava” located under the park has turned out to be twice as big as scientists originally thought.

Is it possible that the Yellowstone supervolcano is gearing up for a major eruption? If you follow my work on a regular basis, then you already know that I spend a lot of time documenting how the crust of our planet is becoming increasingly unstable. Most of this shaking is taking place far away from the continental United States, and so most Americans are not too concerned about it. But we should be concerned about it, because a major seismic event could change all of our lives in a single instant. For instance, a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would have the potential of being an E.L.E. (extinction level event). That is why it is so alarming that there have been 296 earthquakes in the vicinity of the Yellowstone supervolcano within the last 7 days. Scientists are trying to convince us that everything is going to be okay, but there are others that are not so sure.

The biggest earthquake in this swarm occurred last Thursday evening. It was initially measured to be a magnitude 4.5 earthquake, but it was later downgraded to a 4.4. It was the biggest quake in the region since a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck close to Norris Geyser Basin in March 2014. This magnitude 4.4 earthquake was so powerful that people felt it as far away as Bozeman…

Scientists currently believe that there’s a 10% chance that a “supervolcanic Category 7 eruption” could take place this century, as pointed out by theoretical physicist Michio Kaku who appeared on a segment for Fox News.

The grey haired physicist told Shepard Smith that the “danger” we are now facing with the caldera is that it’s long overdue for an eruption which Kaku said could “rip the guts out of the USA.”

Kaku said that a “pocket of lava” located under the park has turned out to be twice as big as scientists originally thought.

I would like to try to describe for you what a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would mean for this country.

Think Tanks: The Brain Trusts of the Shadow Government

Think Tanks are powerful organizations that set the policy agenda in the United States and in many other countries. The big think tanks such as Council on Foreign Relations, Brookings Institution, American Enterprise Institute etc decide both the domestic and foreign policy of the United States. Other purposes think tanks serve includes providing the personnel for the administration after an election, people who are members of these big think tanks, go on to hold important positions in the government.

Here is an overview of think tanks…

Think tanks play a central role in the policy making process. Think tanks have often been called factory of ideas and policy mills. Think tanks are essential for the elite’s research and planning.

Think tanks provide the research, analysis, strategies and solutions concerning a wide variety of topics and issues. These elitist think tanks like CFR, AEI, Brookings keep on working on the micro and macro levels of their various agendas around the globe. The think tanks elite set up and continue to fund have millions of dollars in annual budget. The big think tanks have the monetary power and the outreach and easily undermine the smaller think tanks. It doesn’t matter which party comes to power, the ideas, strategies and policies come from these same think tanks. As researcher Laurence H. Shoup writes regarding CFR, the most influential think tank in the world, in his book Wall Street’s Think Tank: The Council on Foreign Relations and the Empire of Neoliberal Geopolitics, 1976-2014 — “ The think tank of monopoly-finance capital, the Council on Foreign Relations is the world’s most powerful private organization. The CFR is the ultimate networking, socializing, strategic-planning, and consensus-forming institution of the U.S. capitalist class. It is the central “high command” organization of the plutocracy that runs the country and much of the world. “

CFR is just one think tank at the elite’s disposal.

These think tanks plan out everything in advance. As mentioned earlier they have think tanks working on everything like environment, urbanization, immigration and even population control like the Optimum Population Trust now called Population Matters. Think tanks are the brain trusts of the shadow government and what we see happening now was all planned by these think tanks. (such things like urbanization, environmental treaties, privatization, trade deals, open borders, digital society, economic reforms, welfare schemes etc).

Many significant things have emerged from these think tanks. Here are just a few examples…

Why Are Billionaires, Media, Academia, Environmental Movement Promoting the Enslavement of Their Citizens Who Must Decarbonize?

Few intelligent people understood the global environmental communist agenda twenty years ago but Natalie Grant Wraga did. The majority did not pay careful attention and the MSM presented the environmental agenda of Cultural Marxism in a very positive light that seemed logical.

Most people understood the chemical and trash pollution of air, water, and soil. We could see it around us. Nobody wanted to live in a dirty world, polluted beyond safe and healthy habitation. Who can possibly object to the protection of endangered species that have been overhunted for food, selfish predatory trophies, or tribal customs?

But that is not what the environmental Cultural Marxists referred to — they wanted to decarbonize our civilized life, turn us back to a more primitive living in order to better control every facet of our lives, and to reduce the much maligned CO2, the gas of plant life, to levels progressives determined were safe for human and animal habitation.

In an article published in June 16, 2008, “The Marxist Roots of the Global Warming Scare,” Wes Vernon quoted Natalie Grant Wraga: “Protection of the environment has become the principal tool for attack against the West and all it stands for. Protection of the environment may be used as a pretext to adopt a series of measures designed to undermine the industrial base of developed nations. It may also serve to introduce malaise by lowering their standard of living and implanting communist values.”

Wes Vernon mentioned in his article that Natalie Grant Wraga died in 2002 at the age of 101 and “was an internationally-recognized expert on the art of disinformation.” In her obituary in the Washington Post, “Herbert Romerstein, veteran intelligence expert in the legislative and executive branches of government, described Grant/Wraga as ‘one of our leading authorities’ on Soviet deceit.”

He further said that John Berlau of Investors Business Daily “wrote that some of the most respected scholars on Soviet Intelligence have credited this woman with teaching them how to penetrate desinformatzia, Moscow’s term for its ongoing operation to deceive foreign governments.”

Brexit Tests Italy’s Support for the EU

Despite a majority of Italians being in favor of the EU, one-third would opt for an exit. That is the highest percentage in Europe, according to the latest survey by Pew Research

As formal exit negotiations between Britain and the European Union are set to begin this week, affection for the EU has rebounded in most European countries except for Greece and Italy. Initial fears of a large economic fallout from Brexit have not materialized in the EU, whose economy is recovering with support from European Central Bank’s prolonged stimulus. The defeat of far-right anti-EU candidates in the Netherlands and France have proved doomsayers wrong and reenergized calls for European unity.

A sharp increase in favorable views of the EU from last year has been recorded in Germany and France (18 points each), Spain (15 points), and even in the UK (10 points), according to the latest survey by Pew Research. But these signs of optimism have not fully translated into the real life of many Italians (and Greek) who wonder whether they would be better with less or no Europe.

“Only in Greece and Italy do as many as a third of the public voice support for leaving the EU”, Pew analysts say in the report. While a majority of 54% of Italians say their country should stay in the EU, around one third (35%) say they should leave, according to Pew. Italy’s “pro-exit” share is the highest among the nine countries polled. Greece, which has been bailed out in return for austerity, is second behind Italy. The strongest supporter is Germany, where 88% say they want to stay, while France is sixth (76%). The reasons for dissent in Italy are both ideological and economic…

Champs-Elysées: Armed Man Crashes Car Into Police Van on in ‘Attempted Attack’

Police in Paris are advising the public to stay away from the Champs-Elysées on Monday afternoon after an armed man crashed his car that contained a gas canister into a police van. The driver died according to the Interior Minister, who described the incident as an “attempted terror attack”.

French police launched a major security operation on the famous Champs-Elysées avenue in the west of Paris on Monday after what was believed to be the latest terror attack targeting police in the French capital.

It has been reported that the suspected attacker was subject to an “S” file, meaning that authorities were at some point monitoring him for potential links to extremism.

Members of the public were told to avoid the area after a driver crashed his Renault Megane into a van carrying gendarmes (French military police) at around 15:40. The driver’s vehicle (seen in the picture below) then exploded into flames. Police say there was a gas canister inside the car.

“Security forces have been targeted in France once again,” France’s new Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said, calling the incident an “attempted attack”.

The weapons and explosives found in the vehicle “could potentially blow this car up,” he added.

Portugal Forest Fire: 12 Survive by Hiding in a Water Tank

Twelve people survived one of Portugal’s deadliest fires by seeking refuge in a water tank after access to their village was cut off by the blaze.

The residents, including a disabled 95-year-old woman, spent more than six hours in the tank as the fire prevented them from being rescued.

“If it wasn’t for this, we would all have died,” one of the survivors said.

The fires, which police believe were started by lightning, killed 63 people, many of them dying in their cars.

The latest of the victims was identified as a 40-year-old firefighter who died in hospital.

Residents in some areas of central Portugal were still being evacuated as more than 1,000 firefighters tackled the blaze, which continued to rage on several fronts on Monday despite light rain.

Swedish PM Stefan Löfven Slams Attacks on Police and Emergency Services: ‘Don’t Touch Our Heroes’

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven pledged to step up the fight against drug gangs in vulnerable areas in Sweden in a speech at the Järva Week political forum in the north-western Stockholm suburb.

The Social Democrat leader’s speech was held on the final day of the week, which has seen daily speeches from Sweden’s party leaders. Löfven started his by promising tougher measures on crime, targeting among other things the drug trade in many of those areas classified as vulnerable in Sweden.

Löfven also said it should be easier for the police to install CCTV surveillance cameras in key spots to clamp down on the drug trade and other crimes, a increasingly heated debate in Sweden.

“Everyone should be able to be in the squares and walk home from the metro without being scared.”

He spoke at a newly-launched politics week at the Järva field, which is surrounded by suburbs part of the national police’s list of vulnerable areas, such as Rinkeby and Tensta, which have struggled with incidents of car burnings and youth gangs throwing rocks at police and emergency services.

Löfven promised tough punishments for those who attack police, fire services or ambulance staff. “Don’t touch our heroes,” he said to applause from the audience.

The Great Fire of a New London

by Mark Steyn

No black detail is too absurd for today’s world. And so it happens that the first named victim of the towering inferno in North Kensington is Mohammed Alhajali, a Syrian refugee who arrived as a teenager with his brothers in London four years ago and somehow wound up being housed in a flat in Grenfell Tower. Launching a fund to raise money for his funeral, Kareen el Beyrouty, director of the Syria Solidarity Campaign, declared that “Mohammed Alhajali undertook a dangerous journey to flee war in Syria, only to meet death here in the UK, in his own home. His dream was to be able to go back home one day and rebuild Syria.”

Which is apparently a lot safer. His friend and fellow Syrian refugee Abdulaziz Almashi tells the BBC that “Syria is a war zone. For six years I’ve seen videos of shelling of buildings. I’ve never seen a building in Syria burn like this. “ Back in the war zone, Mohammed’s mother is planning to undertake her own dangerous journey to London to visit her surviving boys and bid farewell to the son who found freedom and was consumed in the flames: “At least I can see his grave, I can kiss where he’s buried.”

As anyone who’s traveled the Third World or even parts of post-Soviet Eastern Europe knows, it is easier to put up a tall building than to maintain it. Authoritarian regimes like the prestige of skyscrapers, even stubby ones, but you notice around dusk that there are no lights on the upper floors because the elevators no longer work; the landings in the emergency stairwell are used as “temporary” storage space that has inevitably become permanent. Not all of these problems are yet as common in a First World city such as London, but some are: at Grenfell Tower, for example, the only emergency exit was obstructed inter alia by piles of cardboard, a busted space heater and an old mattress. Other problems not quite seemly in a supposedly wealthy metropolis had also accumulated — so there were no sprinklers, and non-working fire alarms, and “cladding” from a recent remodel helped fan the flames and spread the fire and quickly became, for those seeking an issue in a tragedy, the word of the week. Nevertheless, clad or unclad, Grenfell Tower embodies what has happened to London, Paris and other European cities in their transformation from national capitals to “global cities”, as Sadiq Khan likes to call his fiefdom…

JTA — Marchers in the annual Al-Quds Day parade in London blamed a fire in a low-income apartment complex that left at least 58 dead on “Zionists.”

Hundreds marched Sunday afternoon behind the Palestinian flag and behind a flag of Hezbollah, which has been named in Britain as an illegal terror organization.

Many marchers also carried paper versions of the Hezbollah flag. No effort was made by London police to stop them, the Jewish Chronicle reported.

“This demonstration calls on justice for Grenfell. Some of the biggest supporters of the Conservative Party are Zionists. They are responsible for the murder of the people in Grenfell. The Zionist supporters of the Tory Party. Free, Free, Palestine!” one man shouted into a microphone during the march, according to the Chronicle.

Other chants included: “Zionists/ISIS are the same. Only difference is the name.”

Supporters on the parade route held up banners reading “Zionism is Racism” and, “We are all Hezbollah.”

PA Names Square After Murderer of 22 Children

The Palestinian Authority has named a public square after the mastermind of the Ma’alot massacre, Palestinian Media Watch reported.

The PA named the square in Jenin after arch-terrorist Khaled Nazzal, the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and commander of its military branch.

Nazzal was responsible for planning the 1974 Ma’alot massacre, in which Arab terrorists entered a school in the northern town of Ma’alot and took dozens of children and teachers hostage. 22 children and 4 adults were murdered in the attack.[…]

IRGC Commanders: Our Main Aim is Global Islamic Rule

In recent statements and speeches, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders have emphasized that the Islamic Revolution in Iran is only the first stage on the path to the spread of the rule of Shi’ite Islam in the Middle East and worldwide, and that the mission of advancing the Islamic Revolution to these heights falls to the IRGC commanders.

The commanders reiterated the argument that the U.S., the leader of the “world of arrogance,” opposes Islam, and thus also Iran, which is, they say, the standard-bearer of the Revolution and its global vision. The U.S., they added, is acting to sabotage the plan to institute Islam worldwide, and is doing so by infiltrating the circles of decision-makers in Iran in order to impregnate them with Western cultural values and spark internal disputes among the Muslims. This is aimed at changing the direction of the Revolution and diverting it from its path. However, the robustness of the Revolution remains, they said, thanks to Iranian Supreme Leader ‘Ali Khamenei and the IRGC.

The following are translations of recent statements by senior IRGC commanders on this matter:

IRGC Commander Ja’fari: “We Are On The Path That Leads To The Rule Of Islam Worldwide”

US Responds to Russian Threat After Shoot-Down of Syrian Jet

U.S. pilots operating over Syria won’t hesitate to defend themselves from Russian threats, a Pentagon spokesperson said Monday in the latest escalation between the two superpowers since a U.S. jet shot down a Syrian aircraft on Sunday.

“We do not seek conflict with any party in Syria other than ISIS, but we will not hesitate to defend ourselves or our partners if threatened,” Capt. Jeff Davis told Fox News.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford doubled down on that rhetoric during a Monday speech at the National Press Club.

Was Lenin a German Agent?

by Sean Mcmeekin

So In his own mind, Lenin could and did justify his actions as tactical maneuvers serving the higher cause of Communism, not the sordid war aims of the German Imperial Government. Fair enough. But it is hard to imagine this defense holding up in trial, if the jury were composed of ordinary Russians while the war was still going on. The evidence assembled by Kerensky’s justice department, much of which has only recently been rediscovered in the Russian archives, was damning. No matter Lenin’s real intentions, it is undeniable that he received German logistical and financial support in 1917, and that his actions, from antiwar agitation in the Russian armies to his request for an unconditional cease-fire, served the interests of Russia’s wartime enemy in Berlin.

Christian Jailed in Pakistan for Refusing to Render Free Service Based on Muslim Privilege

The Pakistani Center for Law and Justice reports that on June 15, 2017, Muhammad Ishtiaq, son of Haji Muhammad Rafique of the Miraasi caste, came into the shop of Ashfaq Masih, son of Yaqoob Masih, resident of Green Town, Baghariyan Road, Lahore, Pakistan, to get his bicycle repaired, which Masih did, and requested payment.

Ishtiaq replied that “I am a Sadhu person and you should have to give me free services,” but Masih said, “I only believe in Jesus Christ not others, so please give me the payment since I repaired your bicycle.”

Upon hearing this, Ishtiaq accused Masih of using abusive words against the holy prophet, an unpardonable microagression, and lodged an FIR (First Information Report) against Masih under section 295C PPC in the police station of Green Town, Baghariya Road, Lahore.

Thailand Lese-Majeste: UN Urges Amendment to Law

The United Nations has called on Thailand to amend its harsh law against insulting the monarchy. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said it was deeply troubled by the high rate of prosecutions, and the disproportionate sentences for the offence.

The UN said that since the military coup in 2014 the number of people investigated for violating the lese-majeste laws has risen to more than double the number investigated in the previous 12 years, and that only 4% of those charged were acquitted.

Trials are routinely held in closed session, often in military courts where defendants’ rights are limited. Earlier this month a man was given a 35-year sentence for Facebook posts judged to have defamed the monarchy, the harshest penalty to date.

Two years ago, a similarly harsh sentence was given to a woman in the northern city of Chiang Mai.

China Cracks Down on Moneylenders Targeting Students

China is cracking down on online moneylenders who target university students, following concerns about the largely unregulated industry.

A recent government directive has ordered such lenders to suspend all activities wooing student borrowers.

The move follows reports of exorbitant interest rates and unsavoury practices in the industry, including demanding “nude selfies” as collateral.

Online peer-to-peer moneylending has grown popular in China in recent years.

Known as “wang dai” in Chinese, it sees strangers providing small loans to others via websites and phone apps.

ISIS Presents Battles in Philippines as Part of War Against Christianity

In its recent takeover of the city of Marawi in the southern Philippines, the Islamic State (ISIS) deliberately emphasized its hostility towards Christians, as expressed in the wanton killing of Christians and the destruction of churches. This was also reflected in the rhetoric that accompanied the campaign, which consistently presented the fighting in the Philippines as a centuries-old war against the “Christians” and “Crusaders.”

Kim Jong un Lives in Fear of Assassination by Western ‘Decapitation’ Team, Says Report

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is reportedly so terrified of being targeted for assassination that he travels incognito inside the Hermit Kingdom, and there’s growing evidence his paranoia may be well-founded.

The 33-year-old, third-generation ruler is “extremely nervous” about a clandestine plot to take him out, according to a key South Korean lawmaker who spoke to The Korea Herald. Rep. Lee Cheol-woo, chairman of the South Korean parliament’s intelligence committee, made the claim based on reports from South Korea’s intelligence agency.

“Kim is engrossed with collecting information about the ‘decapitation operation’ through his intelligence agencies,” Lee said following a briefing last week.

Otto Warmbier, US Student Sent Home From N Korea, Dies

The American student who was released last week after being held in captivity for more than 15 months in North Korea has died, his family says.

Otto Warmbier, 22, returned to the US last Tuesday, but it emerged he had been in a coma for a year.

North Korea said botulism and a sleeping pill led to the coma, but US doctors have disputed this account.

Mr Warmbier was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour for attempting to steal a propaganda sign from a hotel.

“It is our sad duty to report that our son, Otto Warmbier, has completed his journey home. Surrounded by his loving family, Otto died today at 2:20pm,” a statement from the family said.

It said the student was “unable to speak, unable to see and unable to react to verbal commands”.

Al-Qaida-Linked Militants Staged Mali Resort Attack; 5 Dead

An al-Qaida-linked Islamic militant group said Monday it staged an attack the previous day on a resort area in Mali popular with foreigners, killing five people, including a Portuguese soldier who had been serving in the European Union mission to stabilize this West African country wracked by mounting extremism.

The recently formed Mali-based Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen extremist group has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadi websites.

A Malian soldier and three civilians — a Chinese citizen, a Malian, and a French-Gabonese dual national — also were slain in the worst terror attack to strike Bamako since late 2015.

‘Half’ Nigeria Food Aid for Boko Haram Victims Not Delivered

Up to half the food aid meant for people who have fled Nigeria’s Islamist insurgency has reportedly not been delivered, the government says.

It described it as a “diversion of relief materials”, which correspondents say is a euphemism for theft.

A statement from the acting president’s office added that security was being beefed up to protect the deliveries.

As a result of Boko Haram violence some 8.5 million Nigerians in the north-east need life-saving aid, officials say.

Poor rains have exacerbated a problem caused by fighting with Boko Haram Islamist militants, which has forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes.

People in north-east Nigeria are also facing a possible famine, the UN said in March.

White South Africans Are Dying and Twitter is Actively Censoring it.

The Witkruismonument outside Polokwane, a series of crosses erected in memory of murdered South African farmers

A long time ago I read the 600+ pages of the atrocities commited during Pinochet’s dictartorship. I’m no leftie and I know of the recurrent memes off throwing commies of helicopters, but these were the most atrocious acts I had ever heard off. In my own country. I won’t go into detail because of the horrific nature, but I remember that sensation going through my spine while reading it, it’s very distinct, and I hoped to never feel it again. But someone mentioned South Africa…

I went to look, it was hard to find the stories on local websites, but I noticed a trend, the few I found were all refered to as ‘farm attacks’, so I looked that up. I saw daily acts of torture, rape, theft and murder commited against white farmers, and their employees as well, apparently befriending or working for a white person is the deadliest choice a black person can make in South Africa.

‘62 year old woman tortured with power drill’, ‘Entire family shot dead’, ‘Man dies of his wounds after blowtorch torture’, ‘the entire Potgieter family, including 2-year-old Wilmien, was savagely tortured to death’, ‘The attackers also went for his wife, raping her and assaulting her before throwing her out the window and repeatedly kicking and striking her lifeless body’

If you can think it, they probably already did it. Again, EVERY F***ING DAY.

What justice do they get? What has been the response? Well, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not hyperbolic to say the ANC-led South African government is commiting a slow genocide targeting white farmers. Jacob Zuma singing about shooting and killing white people was disturbing, but the actions they have taken are, in my humble opinion, much worst.

Heated Words as EU Tries to Limit Africa Migration

EU efforts to reduce the amount of migrants coming from Africa are seeing “first results”, amid flaring political tension on immigration.

The numbers of people in transit in Niger had fallen drastically and voluntary deportations from Libya had more than doubled thanks to EU projects, Federica Mogherini, the head of the EU foreign service, said in Luxembourg on Monday (19 June).

There were 5,000 people in Niger in May en route, most likely, to the EU, compared to 70,000 in the same month last year, she said.

The EU, the International Migration Organisation (IOM), and the UN had also sent 4,500 people back home from Libya in the first few months of this year compared to 2,000 in all of last year.

Mogherini said the deportees freely “chose” to go home and that the EU gave them logistical and financial support.

She added that the Libyan coastguard, with the help of EU advisors and boats, had recently rescued 16,000 migrants at sea.

A task force coordinated by the local prefecture was present at the ship’s arrival in port, made up of health workers, law enforcement, Caritas Catholic charity and the Red Cross.

Twenty-three different nationalities were among the 1,045 refugees who arrived in the Port of Reggio Calabria aboard the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) ship “Vos Prudence”.

The migrants aboard are from Ghana, Sudan, Senegal, Guinea, Gambia, Mali, Nigeria, and Togo.

Canadians Could Face Hate Crimes Over Using the Wrong Gender Pronouns

Canada passed a law Thursday making it illegal to use the wrong gender pronouns. Critics say that Canadians who do not subscribe to progressive gender theory could be accused of hate crimes, jailed, fined, and made to take anti-bias training.

Canada’s Senate passed Bill C-16, which puts “gender identity” and “gender expression” into both the country’s Human Rights Code, as well as the hate crime category of its Criminal Code by a vote of 67-11, according to LifeSiteNews. The bill now only needs royal assent from the governor general.

“Great news,” announced Justin Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister. “Bill C-16 has passed the Senate — making it illegal to discriminate based on gender identity or expression. #LoveisLove.”

“Proud that Bill C-16 has passed in the Senate,” said Jody Wilson-Raybould, the country’s attorney general and minister of justice. “All Canadians should feel #FreeToBeMe.”

‘End-of-Days’ Fear as Wheat Crop Fails Around World

(BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS) — Wheat harvests around the world are falling dangerously short, raising the possibility that the end-of-days famine prophesied in the Book of Amos as preceding the Messiah has arrived. Israel, the tiny nation that has made its deserts bloom, is poised to be a guiding light in this developing crisis, helping the world grow crops while bringing them closer to redemption.

Massive shortages in the wheat crop became obvious as farmers recently began harvesting the winter yield. Winter wheat, accounting for 70-80 percent of the total annual harvest, dropped 38 percent from last year in the US. Prices on wheat futures are soaring as concern grows over where the country’s bread will come from.

The shortage in America is part of a global trend. The Ukraine, once considered Europe’s breadbasket, is harvesting 7 percent less than last year, a downward progression that has continued for several years. Overall, European countries and Canada saw a similar drop in the harvest of cereal crops this year.

How Cats Conquered the Ancient World

The domestic cat is descended from wild cats that were tamed twice — in the Near East and then Egypt, according to the largest study of its kind.

Farmers in the Near East were probably the first people to successfully tame wild cats about 9,000 years ago.

Then, a few thousand years later, cats spread out of ancient Egypt along maritime trade routes.

Today, cats live on all continents except Antarctica.

Scientists think wildcats began hanging around farms to prey on mice attracted to grain stores, starting the long relationship between humans and felines.

“There were two taming events — one in the Near East at the beginning and one in Egypt much later,” said lead researcher Eva-Maria Geigl.

  1. Ms. (come what) May must be taking orders. There is no other explanation for t he seeming non sequitur of her remarks in light of the two (the 24 story apartment makes three) terrorist attacks during the past month of Ram a Van.

  2. The Finsbury event is proving to be an enormous propaganda boost to Islam and its adherents. It’s playbook perfect. I don’t know exactly what happened as I was not there, but there is so much self serving, contradictory comment coming from so called witnesses that I have to wonder about the truth of it. Patriots like Katie Hopkins, Tommy Robinson, Charles Murray, Nigel Farage and their ilk are now going to be more persecuted than before. I hope that Darren Osborne can have a fair trial. My twitching antennae suggest otherwise. Hope I’m wrong.

    • Then, there’s then FBI Director Mueller dealing with the Russkis:

The FBI Director was originally scheduled to ‘return’ a sample from the DOE stockpile to the Russians in April but the trip was postponed until September 21, 2009.

Paragraph number 6 of the leaked cable from State confirms Dir. Mueller’s Sept. 21 flight to Moscow.

“(S/Rel Russia) Action request: Embassy Moscow is requested to alert at the highest appropriate level the Russian Federation that FBI Director Mueller plans to deliver the HEU sample once he arrives to Moscow on September 21. Post is requested to convey information in paragraph 5 with regard to chain of custody, and to request details on Russian Federation’s plan for picking up the material. Embassy is also requested to reconfirm the April 16 understanding from the FSB verbally that we will have no problem with the Russian Ministry of Aviation concerning Mueller’s September 21 flight clearance.”

Who did Mueller meet with and why on a tarmac, again? AG Sessions needs to investigate this relationship.

  3. Oh, come on!
Terror is part an parcel of living in a big city these days.
Just like the mayor of London Sadiq Khan said.

And after all, there are more people dying from car accidents.

  4. “Prime Minister Theresa May promised British Muslims that she would do her utmost to crack down on Islamophobia as the important feast of Eid al-Fitr approaches.”

Has May previously promised to crack down on Islamist “phobia” against Christians, Jews, all non/Muslims? I remember her reiterating ad nauseam that “we won’t be divided” but I don’t remember mention of a “crackdown”. Perhaps I’ve forgotten. I am getting quite old and am also very tired of all this humbug and double standards. (And a message any time soon from Mayor Khan to the Muslims to “just get used to it”?)

  5. So Mrs May is now vowing to stamp out ‘Islamophobia’ as well as ‘terrorism’?

My oh my, but how the PC brigade can twist themselves into knots without really conveying what it is that should be openly stated.

There wouldn’t be any ‘Islamophobia’ if there was no Islamic terrorism!

    • Islamophobia, Islamism, Islamist extremists … what’s the common denominator in all these made up words …???

It’s really not difficult to get to the root of the problem here, eh.

One of the killers of Lee Rigby stated explicitly, at the scene of his crime, what his motivations were: “But we are forced by the Koran, in surah at-taubah, through many, many ayah throughout the Koran …”

This is a truth that the likes of Piers Morgan simply cannot face. TR explained this to him today, apparently, and Piers blew a fuse. The truth is staring these people in the face – but they are TERRIFIED to face it.

And they’ve obviously never cracked open a history book, or they’d know that things have never been any different.

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. – Winston Churchill.

      • QuoFan, Good comment! Piers Morgan also has a rabid gun control bent that defies simple common sense logic. Maybe we can tie in gun control and a refusal to acknowledge the inherent violence within the Qu’ran with which to identify our other problem – intolerant liberals that simply refuse to admit to their own shortcomings when faced with the prospect of violence, and who will in turn, verbally abuse, physically attack, label or even shoot the messenger, rather than face the self-evident reality?

And I love Churchill’s quotes – generally short and to the point.

  6. Have you seen any video of Christians, Jews (or else) celebrating the atack on Finsbury Park Mosque in London?

  7. On “cracking down” on so-called “Islamophobia” (whatever that word even means):

Here is our starting point, and we need to remind people at each and every opportunity:

The UN Special Rapporteur has clearly stated:

The right to freedom of opinion and expression is guaranteed under article 19 of both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which affirm that everyone has the right to hold opinions without interference and impart information and ideas of all kinds through any media and regardless of frontiers.

The Special Rapporteur has consistently underlined the importance of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, not only as a right that should be guaranteed to all, including individuals belonging to marginalized groups, but also as a means to claim and enjoy all other rights. Indeed, it is a fundamental right that safeguards the exercise of all other rights and is a critical foundation of democracy, which depends on the free flow of diverse sources of information and ideas. […]

As the Special Rapporteur has previously emphasized, <ba.for the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion to be fully realized, robust examination and criticism of religious doctrines and practices – even in a harsh manner – must also be allowed.

Frank La Rue, UN General Assembly, 67th Session, A/67/357, 7th September 2012, paragraphs 35-36.

    • QuoFan, while human rights under Humanist ideology may sound great, in reality, each Western country has its own set of inalienable rights under God that trumps Humanist ideology. There is an agenda in place that explains why they have been consistently trampled on ever since the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights was first signed onto.

      Marxism.

Even the U.N. now contravenes its own human rights laws by promoting the OICs directives above that of Israel – now treated as a pariah by the U.N. and the OIC with other Western countries now tagging along.

And each individual Western country – and please note; I have not used the term nation because we are no longer nations, but countries of tribes – has its own set of ‘anti-terror’ laws that intentionally subjugates all human individual rights, be they inalienable or humanist, with the design of causing all ‘trouble makers’ – and that includes the Patriot who will in time take up defending his/her country where the political elite refuse to do so – to be also targeted as ‘terrorists’.

To address what you raise, what is needed is change.

Change is still possible via the ballot box – but that chance is fast fading in most countries, especially in Europe. So as that chance fades, that leaves the only alternative still available – a counter revolution to the Marxist revolution of the past 120 years, a stealthy revolution that has almost swallowed the entire West.

Are you prepared to take on that challenge in order to bring change about?

      • First things first, my friend. Let’s use the enemy’s weapons against them. If anyone does what Piers Morgan did today, and asserts that anyone who talks about Islamic religious doctrines is not “respecting people’s beliefs” that is the time to quote the UN’s own rules back to them.

One of the things we need to do as part of an anti-Gramsci-esque “counter revolution” is shoot down the Kassam rockets of the anti-intellectual terrorists out there, whenever they fire them our way.

We need to develop an Iron Dome system, so that whenever people like Piers Morgan says, oh that’s not cricket, you’re not “respecting” other people’s beliefs – we can shoot down that fiery dart right quick.

A couple of handy quotes from the UN’s main man would serve that purpose. That’s not going to “defeat” the enemy, once and for all, but just like the original Iron Dome system, it’ll stop their rockets from landing in your back yard.

    • Merkel, May, Bill Clinton’s wife….All in favor of a Marxist-Islamic detente inside the dying West. Only alpha males can save the West, now, and there are few left.

  8. Theresa’s going to do her utmost to stamp out islamophobia! And she will, after all she has to keep moslems happy, that’s priority #1.

But why would anyone hate moslems? Religion of peace…. (Just a teeny bit of sarc.)

  9. Kim Jong un Lives in Fear of Assassination by Western ‘Decapitation’ Team, Says Report

He should be a lot more worried about his own general staff or a Chinese hit squad.

Threatening to take everyone down with him was pretty dimwitted of Psycho Fat Boy. Just study a map of prevailing winds on the Korean peninsula in order to see where all the fallout drifts to if things go all pear-shaped in Pyongyang.

Beijing is less than 500 miles away. An irradiated Chinese capital could set the Mainland’s economy back a few decades. Time to cap Fat Boy’s corpulent posterior.

China’s ultimate reward will be to have South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan all join the Nuclear Club™. Japan has several tons of plutonium laying around and there already exists persistent speculation that Tokyo may have a “bomb in the basement”.

Having these three “mini-dragons” stepping out from under America’s nuclear umbrella would be very good for the USA. If things got all mushroomy over there, China would not have any excuse to lob a few nukes in our direction.

  10. No biggie, he was out of his mind no doubt, that poor guy, and will get away without a sentence. Oh who am I kidding, he’s not a “refugee”, he’s probably going to get an examplery life sentence. And he can call himself lucky if he’s not stuffed in one of the controled prisons.

  11. Muslims shouting “All you to the snackbar! –BOOM” is something we’ll have to learn to live with. It’s just part of life in the big city these days.

People responding to the (perceived?) source of those muslims is bad and will not be tolerated at all.

    I think I got it.
