Welcome to the blogosphere a brand new arrival, Hibernia Girl.
She posts on all things Ireland…and some of those items are as depressing as the problems in, say, southern California.
Here’s one on the “lazy” Irish…she’s good at fisking MSM statistics.
Here’s another on the tsunami of immigrants, legal and otherwise, flooding the Emerald Isle poised to drown what remains of Irish culture:
…In all, Ireland has received at least 600,000 immigrants, most of them within the past five years.* [Est. total pop. of Ireland, 6 millions.] It could be many more. No one has the least idea.
In the US, such immigration would translate into an inward population movement of 45 million. In the UK, the figure would be nine million. Needless to say, neither state would be so idiotic or feckless as allow such vast numbers to enter…
I wish Hibernia Girl well in her new blogging venture. And I hope that she and Ireland (and the rest of us) can find a way through this unprecedented – though not unplanned – movement of peoples.
She quotes Bertolt Brecht to remind us it’s not a new problem:
– The Solution –
After the uprising of 17 June
The Secretary of the Writers’ Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
Stating that the People
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?
