European Inflation Trends: Peaks, Valleys, and Economic Projections

As January figures unveil a mixed bag of inflationary trends across the European Union (EU), contrasting shifts in consumer price indices paint a nuanced picture of economic dynamics, Euronews writes.

Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU, reports a general easing of annual inflation rates, indicative of a broader trend since its zenith in October 2022, when it peaked at 11.5%. In January 2024, EU annual inflation stood at 3.1%, down from 3.4% in December, a significant drop from the 10.0% recorded a year earlier.

Similarly, the eurozone’s annual inflation rate dipped to 2.8% in January 2024, down from 2.9% in December and notably lower than the 8.6% observed in January 2023, signifying a gradual deceleration in price increases.

Income Needed to Afford a Home in the US Has Soared by 80% Since 2020

The Biden administration and its fawning PR industry, also known as the mainstream media, have over the past year been desperate to explain to ordinary deplorables Americans why the US economy is ackchyually doing “so much better” than most peasants give the 81-year-old’s handlers credit for (see “The Economy Is Great. Why Do Americans Blame Biden”, “Voters Are More Upbeat on Economy, but Biden Gets Little Benefit, WSJ Poll Shows”, “Is Biden Going Down With the Ship Called Bidenomics?”, “Why Biden Touts Jobs When Americans Care About Prices”, and so on).

And yet, for all the seasonal adjustments, data rigging, propaganda and angry outbursts by the senile president, there may be a very simple reason why Biden will lose the Nov 2024 election not just on the catastrophic debacles that are immigration and foreign policy (Afghanistan, Ukraine, Israel), but also on the economy, and that has to do with the snuffing of what was once the American dream — namely, owning a house.

According to Zillow, the income needed to comfortably afford a home in the US has leapt 80% since 2020, far exceeding what the BLS reports has been a 23% increase in median household income over the same period.

Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema Will Not Run for Reelection

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) will retire at the end of 2024, clearing the way for a battle between Republican Kari Lake and Democrat Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) for Arizona’s Senate seat.

Sinema’s move is significant but not unexpected. She raised only $595,000 in the final quarter of 2023, a fraction of the totals that Lake and Gallego each raised — although Sinema maintains nearly $11 million in her campaign account.

In an announcement video posted to X, Sinema lamented “the constant pull to the extremes by both political parties” while echoing her usual themes regarding her desire to seek bipartisan victories.

Bipartisan Bill Could Force China’s ByteDance to Sell TikTok

To address potential national security risks, a diverse coalition of US lawmakers, led by Representative Mike Gallagher (Republican) and Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi (Democrat), have put forward a new legislative proposal targeting ByteDance’s TikTok.

Electric Cars Worse for Environment Than Gas-Powered Vehicles: Study

A 2022 study conducted by Emission Analytics suggesting that electric vehicles could release more emissions than their gas-powered counterparts has reemerged amid a growing push to phase out the latter in favor of the former on the grounds that they’re better for the environment.

EA found that the biggest polluters on vehicles are the tires, thus heavier cars produce more emissions since they cause the tires to wear down faster. Since EVs weigh on average 30 percent more than gas-powered cars due to the enormous batteries, they may end up being worse for the planet than previously thought.

Despite a much-heralded and historic pledge signed by all 43 police constables in England and Wales in 2022 to have officers personally visit the scene of all home burglaries, there has been a decline in the overall solve rate and 48 per cent of all neighbourhoods have seen zero burglaries solved over the previous three years, the Daily Telegraph reports.

According to Home Office data, the charge rate for burglaries fell from 4.6 per cent in 2022 to 3.9 per cent in the year following the pledge, representing less than one in 25 burglaries resulting in charges.

European Auto Giants Retreat: Germany Leads Market Exodus

High energy costs, taxes and levies in Germany make the location comparably expensive and internationally non-competitive. This is coupled with bureaucracy, shortage of skilled workers, insufficient digitization and questionable energy policies. This particularly impacts the automotive industry, as stated by Focus.

The future looks bleak for volume manufacturers in the automotive sector as Chinese competitors grow rapidly and offer more cost-effective options. The anticipated electric car boom hasn’t materialized, yet European manufacturers heavily invest in electric vehicles despite low demand.

Southern European automakers like Peugeot, Citroën, Renault and Seat are likely to vanish, while German brands like Opel and VW struggle due to high production costs. Premium brands like Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche might survive in the luxury segment.

Swiss Police: Teen Suspect in Stabbing of Jewish Man in Zurich Sympathizes With ISIS

GENEVA, Switzerland (AP) — Swiss police say the 15-year-old suspect in the stabbing of an Orthodox Jewish man in Zurich over the weekend had appeared in a video expressing solidarity with the banned Islamic State group, and called himself a “soldier” in its self-described caliphate.

Zurich cantonal police security chief Mario Fehr tells reporters that authorities are investigating whether the teen, who is not identified, acted alone or as part of a group. Officials say the suspect was a Swiss national.

“He refers to the IS (Islamic State), describes himself as a soldier of the caliphate,” Fehr says of the video that authorities had authenticated. He denounces the stabbing Saturday as a “terrorist” and “antisemitic” attack. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

Explained: What is the Humanitarian Situation in War-Torn Gaza?

Geneva: The Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip has displaced most of the enclave’s 2.3 million people and caused a grave humanitarian crisis including acute shortages of food, water and medicine.

Here are some key facts about the conditions in the Palestinian territory:

Displacement

An estimated 1.7 million people, more than 75 per cent of Gaza’s population, have been displaced, many of them forced to move repeatedly across the enclave, according to the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA).

Israel last month intensified its bombardment of Rafah, a town in southern Gaza on the border with Egypt, where about 1.5 million people are estimated to be crammed.

Most people there have fled their homes further north to escape Israel’s military assault, which was launched in the wake of a deadly rampage by Hamas militants in southern Israel on Oct. 7.

Health and hospitals

The World Health Organization says most of the enclave’s 36 hospitals have stopped working. Only 12 are partially functioning — six in the north and six in the south — and one, the Al Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, is considered to be minimally functional.

Dr. Richard Peeperkorn, WHO representative for Gaza and the West Bank, said on Tuesday that more than 8,000 people needed to be referred outside Gaza for medical treatment.

He said some 6,000 people needed to be referred for war-related injuries and ailments, while 2,000 others suffered from cancer or serious chronic illnesses.

On March 3, WHO and its partners visited the Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals in northern Gaza to deliver supplies for the first time since the start of hostilities. Peeperkorn described the situation at Al-Awda Hospital as “particularly appalling” because one of the buildings had been destroyed.

Why the US is Losing the War to the Houthis

After Biden came home from his Caribbean vacation, the Deputy Defense Secretary came back from hers and the Secretary of Defense was on the verge of being released from the hospital, airstrikes were finally authorized against the Houthi Jihadis attacking ships in the Red Sea.

Biden said that the air strikes sent “a clear message that the United States and our partners will not tolerate attacks on our personnel or allow hostile actors to imperil freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most critical commercial routes.”

The message was not very clear since the Houthis then struck a bulk carrier owned by an American company and spent the next two months terrorizing the Red Sea. The Iranian-backed terror group which seized control of much of Yemen due to Obama’s Arab Spring has launched even more devastating attacks on ships and has now reportedly attacked an undersea cable, after previously deploying an undersea drone and warning of further “submarine” attacks.

The Red Sea siege has affected shipping and commodities prices all over the world. The U.S. Navy ended a lot of its cargo runs in the Red Sea and so have a lot of civilian shipping firms.

Why have the Houthis been able to not only survive, but to escalate their attacks? Because the Biden administration was never serious about taking them out. The original attacks targeted less than 30 sites from a terror group that had shot off over 1,000 rockets and missiles in the previous 7 years and was clearly prepared for an extended campaign of rocket attacks…

“Treason!”: Bombshell Report Reveals Biden Has Secretly Flown 320,000 Illegals INTO the United States

17 Dead Bodies, Rape Trees and Migrants Crawling on His Land: Arizona Rancher Armed With a Glock Describes Life on the Frontlines of the Border Crisis as Republicans Push Bill to Allow Landowners to Shoot Trespassers

John Ladd’s phone is an archive of life on a ranch beside the Arizona border with Mexico.

He scrolls past photographs of handsome Red Angus and cross-bred Hereford-Brahman cattle, picture after picture of Donald Trump’s 30ft border wall that spans about six-and-a-half miles of his land. Then he stops at an image of a tree.

‘That’s a rape tree,’ he said, pointing out the women’s clothes thrown into the thorny branches.

‘Almost all the women who come across get raped by their guides, who then they throw their underwear in the trees.’

The trees have been spotted up and down the border. Academics talk of them as warnings or trophies in the brutal symbolism of violent gangs.

Ladd, 68, has been a rancher all of his life. In the past 30 years he has learned about such savage displays, as well as the patterns of migrants who cross the border and the cartels who control turf on the other side.

Expose of Leading Trans Health Group WPATH Reveals Child Sex Change Surgeries, Drugs Are Undertaken Despite Risks of Cancer, Regret, Life-Altering Complications

The world’s largest transgender health group has been advocating hormonal and surgical transitions for kids, including painful experimental operations meant to produce sexless bodies akin to department store mannequins, according to a massive internal data leak from WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health). WPATH is the group whose standards of care are in use in children’s hospitals and medical practices across the United States and the world for treatment of so-called trans kids as well as gender dysphoric adults.

Leaked videos and documents show that the organization is run by gender-fanatical activists who disregard questions about whether minors can give their consent for medical procedures that, as WPATH members know in private, frequently have severe and long-lasting side effects.

Nonetheless, the WPATH guidelines are still used by the US government, US physicians, and well-known organizations when making treatment decisions for our children.

Journalist Michael Shellenberger received the data, which included jaw-dropping exchanges from a WPATH internal message board and a video of a panel discussion at the Identity Evolution Workshop. On March 4, Mia Hughes published The WPATH Files: Pseudoscientific Surgical and Hormonal Experiments on Children, Adolescents and Vulnerable People with the byline “World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) members demonstrate a lack of consideration for long-term patient outcomes despite being aware of the debilitating and potentially fatal side effects of cross-sex hormones and other treatments.”

  1. Houthis – solution would be to stop bombing Gaza and give the Palestinians food. Dont have to waste billions on bombs.

    • Why give those GD savages food? Those bloody savages celebrated 9/11 and partied like there was no tomorrow, they celebrated and desecrated Israeli hostages alive and dead and celebrated the event, so they all can get bloody stuffed. If I was in charge, I would use napalm and Willie Pete very liberally until none are left. As for the Houthis, we have 4 Battleships in mothballs that can be quickly converted into shipshape to use for coastal bombardment until they quick lobbing missiles. Appeasing islamic savages only invites more aggression, so yeah, bombs are cheaper in the long run, you will soon learn this in your country as they continue to assert themselves. The only way you deal with these bloody savages is eliminate them, until none are left.

      • Hmm, who organised 9/11 so the US could embark on forever wars? Saudi Arabia and ?? CIA is what many people think. What about the other building coming down later after sustaining no damage? Insurance scam.

Many festival goers on 7 October killed by friendly fire from tanks ….. to prevent them being taken hostage? Hamas had no tanks on their little flying machines or motor bikes.
You should read more. Most conspiracy theories are becoming true like the Covid scam, the climate change scam… It is all about money. Ask who benefits to find the guilty party.
The real enemies are the people trying to block the sun and reduce photosynthesis and food production. Hamas is just a pawn in the game like we are.

        • Let me assure you that 9/11 was entirely a muzzy affair. Those Israeli tank crews killed muzzys, not their own. As for the chink flu and globull warming, we are in agreement. Hamass are islamic scum and the same with the fakestinians.

      • “Why give those GD savages food?”

So they’ll plump-up, making them easier targets for thermal to get a fix on.

        Aloha Snackbar!!

  2. Victoria Nuland:
    Why did she resign?
Is the defeat of Ukraine so near that she wants to dis-associate herself from it or did she anger the wrong person? The one with the power to say “Get lost or…!” or even sent her to a retirement home six feet under.

  3. “but those victories were made with the help of a biological male athlete.”

The media perpetuate this nonsense. It’s just a male athlete.

    — extraordinary and worthy of imitation —

14 honourable and resolute pro-Sweden citizens have sent an open letter to
politicians and members of parliament with 21 questions to which answers
    are required.

The letter will be partially published here on GoV.
Today we start with the letter’s introduction and its point 21.

Open letter to politicians in the Swedish government and parliament

This letter is written by 14 Swedish citizens and is addressed personally to you as a politician in Sweden’s government/parliament. The 14 of us have different backgrounds and are very politically interested (not party political involved), we have an average age that guarantees that we have long term insight into the political development in Sweden and globally.
We believe there are many Swedes who support the questions we ask below. We look with great concern about what is happening in the development in our country and on Earth and know that the majority of Swedes do the same! We require answers from you to the following 21 questions, which are listed in numerical form to make it easier for you to respond. We want to know the general views, opinions and expertise of our parliamentary government and we hope you will answer our questions honestly! Your response will also reveal how you view your your political task and your voters!
We will compile and disseminate your answers (including non-answers) to the public via the media. We expect responses by 15 April this year, after which we will compile and present them. We will not accept that your party and its members jointly compile the answers, the answers should be from you personally!

    21. Islamisation in Sweden has come a long way! In some cities and towns, sharia law is in force, and legally there have been courts that have judged according to these laws! Women are isolated and treated brutally,
daughters are thrown from balconies for talking to a Swedish boy! In Malmö, Swedes are now a minority! The police now believe that there are about 62,000 gang criminals in the country, but the figure is probably underestimated; they are part of clans that operate completely outside Swedish laws, sell drugs, rape, shoot and bomb!
The places these clans have made “theirs” in society have meant that, for example, the emergency services, ambulance or police do not dare to visit these neighbourhoods when necessary, there is too great a risk to life and limb!
It is not Pelle, Göran and Lisa who are part of these clans! They are young people with a completely different mindset from a completely different culture, they will never adapt and live according to our culture! The police know who they are, but do not have the resources to deal with the problems, the gangs have the power!

    Is that what we want?
But their culture actually provides the opportunity to remedy the problem! For these
young people, honour is a guiding principle that none of them want or dare to abandon! If young people (including children) participates in criminal activities, the whole family including relatives should be immediately expelled from Sweden, any citizenship should be taken away from them! There is not a single young person who dares to cause such a such an insult of honour to their parents, this is the solution!
The method requires legislative changes, why not make these changes? What do you as a politician want to do about this problem, what have you done so far?

  5. What Tucker Learned From Surviving a Plane Crash
“This country is being devoured by a violent revolution and…our middle class are refusing even to acknowledge that it’s happening and the ruling class against whom it is aimed are sympathizing with it. If this doesn’t remind you of BLM I don’t know what it does.” —Tucker Carlson (18 Feb 2024)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOs3DGD_D1o

“Prediction: As the commie-toddlers assume more power, under the auspices of their BLACK Lunatic Madness (aka BLM) comrades, Obamericans should prepare for nationwide electrical brown- and black-outs, shortages of food and supplies, runaway inflation (as previously predicted), ubiquitous violence and crime and an overall LOWER standard of living. As’s been said, it’s not a mistake, it’s Obamerica….it’s The [Party’s] Plan.” —posted to fb (Sept 2021)

      • “where the heck has diversity ever worked without it devolving into massive bloodshed?”

The United States of America….before it was turned into Obamerica; and E Pluribus Unum (Out of Many, One)—suggested as the nations’ motto by committee on 4 July 1776—was replaced with the likes of “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race” (President Affirmative Action) and “White supremacy is the single most dangerous terrorist threat in our homeland” (Prince Aricept).

“Americans want you to ask what you can do for their country. We—The Party [of BLACK Lunatic Madness]—will give you free in exchange for your vote.” —posted to fb (2020)

        • America was doomed the minute the commiecrats pushed the immigration act in 1965 along with Johnson’s Great Society abortion.

  6. “Attorney General Merrick Garland on March 3 declared that efforts by states to implement voter ID laws are “unnecessary” and “burdensome,” drawing the ire of Republicans.”

It must cause a lot more work for those Democrats trying to rig the next election – as they did the last one.

    • I’ll say this for Nuland, she sees the writing on the wall is fleeing, next stop is a foreign country is my prediction, for she started this Ukraine war and knows Trump is going after coming for scalps if he gets re-elected..

      • “I’ll say this for Nuland, she sees the writing on the wall is fleeing, next stop is a foreign country is my prediction”

Of course, that would make sense. But I think it more likely that she’ll end up as a CNN commentator or heading some college for “women” (and their genetically-male counterparts).
