Iowa Elected Official’s Wife Convicted of Voter Fraud in Ballot-Stuffing Scheme

The wife of an Iowa county supervisor was convicted of 52 counts of voter fraud Tuesday in a ballot-stuffing scheme to help her husband secure the Republican nomination to run for Congress in 2020.

Kim Phuong Taylor, 49, was found guilty by a federal jury in Sioux City of 26 counts of providing false information in registering and voting, three counts of fraudulent registration and 23 counts of fraudulent voting in the race which her husband, Jeremy Taylor, ultimately lost. He was running a congressional campaign for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District and finished a distant third.

After Taylor’s husband lost in the primary, he ran for Woodbury County Supervisor in the 2020 general election and Taylor again engaged in ballot fraud, causing absentee ballots to be fraudulently requested and cast, according to the Justice Department. He ultimately won election to the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors that fall.

JFK Author Discovered Eerie Incident That Occurred a Year Before the Assassination

EXCLUSIVE: This November marks the 60-year anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and one author says he’s surprised more people aren’t talking about another open motorcade incident that occurred about a year before.

Lee Harvey Oswald shot and killed Kennedy during an open motorcade ride through Dealey Plaza in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, leaving the country in shock and mourning. According to author Stephen F. Knott, a professor of national security affairs at the United States Naval War College, Kennedy may have also been in danger in the fall of 1962.

Knott discovered evidence in the archives of the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston where he once worked. In his research, Knott found that during an open-vehicle presidential motorcade in Springfield, Illinois, on Oct. 19, 1962, a witness saw a rifle pointed at JFK from a second story downtown building.

New Hampshire Hospital Shooter Was Banned From Having Guns, Court Documents Say

CONCORD, N.H. — John Madore, the man who shot and killed a security guard at a New Hampshire psychiatric hospital in Concord last week, was not allowed to have guns, ammunition, or any other weapons following an arrest in 2016, according to court records.

At that time, police seized an assault-style rifle and 9 mm handgun from Madore. Madore, 33, who was arrested in Strafford on assault and reckless conduct charges, was later involuntarily admitted at New Hampshire Hospital in Concord, according to records. The charges were dismissed in 2017 following a competency evaluation that remains sealed.

The weapons ban against Madore was part of bail orders unsealed by a judge Wednesday following a request by the New Hampshire Bulletin.

On Nov. 17, Madore had a 9 mm pistol and ammunition when he shot and killed Bradley Haas, a state Department of Safety security officer who was working at the hospital’s front lobby entrance, the state attorney general’s office said. Madore was shot and killed moments later by a state trooper.

In addition to the pistol, police found an AR-style rifle, a tactical vest and several ammunition magazines in a U-Haul truck that Madore had rented and left idling in the hospital’s parking lot.

The schools that “consistently perform poorly” include Boston College, Fordham University, Georgetown University, and Marquette University, the study found.

The FIRE survey of 248 colleges and universities ranked Boston College at #229, Marquette University at #230, Fordham University at #244, and Georgetown University at #245 (earning it a “Very Poor” rating), noted Catholic League president Bill Donohue.

What Conor McGregor is complaining about is actually happening, he said that non-residents can vote during an election process in Ireland. The Working man is the real hero! Ireland, we are at war. Do not let any irish property be took over unannounced. Evaporate said property. It’s a war.”

The European Commission is not concerned about the Netherlands leaving the European Union after the PVV’s victory in the parliamentary election. “We continue to count on the strong participation of the Netherlands in the EU,” a spokesperson for the European Commission told ANP.

Geert Wilders hasn’t spoken about a possible “Nexit” in some time, but the Netherlands leaving the European Union is still part of the PVV’s election manifesto. “The PVV wants a binding referendum on this and therefore wants to leave the European Union. Geert Wilders’ Victory in Netherlands Election Spooks Europe

The unexpectedly meaty win for controversial, hard-right politician Geert Wilders in Wednesday’s general election in the Netherlands set international headlines on fire.

Right-wing nationalists across Europe rushed to congratulate the populist politician, sometimes dubbed the Dutch Trump — partly for his dyed, bouffant-like hairdo, and partly for his famously firebrand rhetoric.

Geert Wilders’ publicly expressed views — including linking Muslim immigration with terrorism and calling for a ban on mosques and the Quran — are so provocative that he has been under tight police protection since 2004.

Wilders was convicted of inciting discrimination, although later acquitted, and he was refused entry to the UK back in 2009.

But Europe’s far right believes their views have now become more mainstream.

Ireland: Three Children Among Five in Hospital After Dublin ‘Stabbing’

Five people, including three children, were taken to hospital on Thursday, Irish police said, following a suspected stabbing outside a Dublin school.

Police declared a major incident and threw up a cordon around Parnell Square in the heart of the Irish capital but said they do not suspect a terror motive.

Irish media and eyewitnesses reported that a man armed with a knife had stabbed the victims outside the primary school.

Witnesses told how a man had been disarmed and Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said a suspect had been arrested.

Police, the Garda Siochana, said in a statement they were “following a definite line of inquiry” and were “not looking for any other person at this time.”

It added: “Five casualties have been taken to various hospitals in the Dublin region.

“The casualties include an adult male, an adult female and three young children.

“One child, a girl, has sustained serious injuries, the other two children are being treated for less serious injuries.

“The adult female is being treated for serious injuries and the adult male for less serious injuries.”

Ireland: Protesters Take to the Street in Dublin After Knife Attack That Injured 3 Children, One Seriously

LONDON — Protests broke out in central Dublin on Thursday evening after Irish police said a 5-year-old girl was receiving emergency medical treatment following an attack that involved a knife.

A woman and two other children were injured.

Irish police said they weren’t treating the case as terror-related, and that a man in his 50s, who was also hospitalized with serious injuries, is a “person of interest.”

Police said they have a “definite line of inquiry” and that they weren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the violence outside a school in the heart of Dublin soon after 1:30 p.m.

In the early evening, protesters fired flares and fireworks at the police cordon in Dublin around the scene of the incident.

Police armed with shields fended off violent demonstrators attempting to kick and punch them. Many of those attacking the police had their faces covered.

A number of police vehicles and a tram were damaged during the disorder in the city center. A bus and car were also on fire on the city’s O’Connell Bridge.

Ireland: Violent Clashes Break Out in Dublin After Knife Attach That Injured 3 Children, One Seriously

LONDON — Violent clashes broke out in central Dublin on Thursday evening, with vehicles torched and riot police attacked, after a 5-year-old girl was seriously injured in a knife attack earlier in the day that also saw a woman and two other young children hospitalized.

Irish police said the girl was receiving emergency medical treatment in a Dublin hospital following the attack outside a school. Soon after that announcement, at least 100 people took to the streets, some armed with metal bars and covering their faces.

Police said over 400 officers including many in riot gear, were deployed in Dublin city center to contain the unrest, which they said was “caused by a small group of thugs.” A police cordon was also set up around the Irish Parliament building, Leinster House, and officers from the Mounted Support Unit were in nearby Grafton Street.

There were clashes with riot police as some demonstrators let off flares and fireworks, while others grabbed chairs and stools outside bars and restaurants.

A number of police vehicles and a tram were damaged during the disorder, while a bus and car were also set on fire on the city’s O’Connell Bridge.

Shop windows were routinely smashed and a Foot Locker store was looted. All public transport in the city — trams and buses — was suspended and many firms have urged their staff to work from home on Friday.

Ireland: Dublin Mass Stabbing: Children Among the Injured

Five people were injured in central Dublin, Ireland, on Thursday, two of them seriously in a mass stabbing described by police as a “serious public order incident”.

A man was arrested after multiple stabbing attacks on Parnell Street, Dublin on Thursday. Among the five people injured are three young children, and one of those children and an adult woman are said to be in serious condition.

The Irish Independent described a “scene of terror” as pedestrians fled on foot from the attack and reports that a male suspect arrested in relation to the incident has also been injured. A witness cited by the paper said the stabbings took place near a school and that: “The kids were out walking. All of a sudden one of them fell to the ground, then another fell to the ground, then another falls to the ground… Then this guy started running past.”

[Comment: It seems that mainstream Right publications, such as Fox News and Breitbart, have not stated the ethnicity of the attacker.]

Ireland: Girl, 5, Receiving Emergency Treatment After Attack

A five-year-old child and a woman in her 30s are in a serious condition in hospital after they were attacked and stabbed in Dublin city centre this afternoon.

Two other young children are also in hospital with minor injuries, as is a man who is being treated for serious injuries. One of these children — a boy — has since been discharged.

The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested at the scene by gardaí before being brought to hospital with injuries that have been described as serious.

At around 1.30pm, a group of young children were lining up outside a school on Parnell Square East.

A man arrived and began attacking the children with a knife.

The five-year-old girl was stabbed and seriously injured. She underwent emergency treatment in Temple St hospital.

The two other children, a boy and a girl aged five and six, were also attacked and suffered minor injuries.

They were both taken to Crumlin Hospital, with the boy later being discharged.

The woman, who worked at the school and cared for the children, intervened and was also stabbed and seriously injured.

She is currently in the Mater Hospital.

A number of other people also intervened and the man was restrained at the scene until gardaí and the emergency services arrived.

Medical staff rushed from the nearby Rotunda Hospital to help.

[…]

Gardaí say the scenes tonight were being driven by a far right element whipping up anger and shouting anti-immigrant slogans, because they suspect the attack was carried out by a foreign national.

However, it is understood the suspect, who is being treated in hospital, is an Irish citizen who came to this country over 20 years ago.

Book Review: Being Hindu in Bangladesh — The Untold Story

Hindu women can’t marry Muslim men in Bangladesh. Couple must declare they’re atheists first… The book ‘Being Hindu in Bangladesh’, by Deep Halder and Avishek Biswas, published by Harper Collins is a result of their extensive research to find the truth behind the statistics on atrocities against Hindus in the Muslim-majority state.

For those who carry the scars of Partition, more than seven decades after arbitrary lines scarred the subcontinent, home is still on the other side of the Padma river. They pine for those who were left behind as a great mass of humanity moved from the east to the west of Bengal to settle in Hindu-majority India. Where are they today in the land that was then east Bengal, which became East Pakistan in 1947, and then Bangladesh in 1971?

According to an estimate from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, there were 17 million Hindus in Bangladesh in 2015, though the population is steadily dwindling. Hindus in Bangladesh in the late 2000s were almost evenly distributed in all regions of the country, with large concentrations in Gopalganj, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Mymensingh, Khulna, Jessore, Chittagong and parts of Chittagong’s Hill Tracts. Since the rise of Islamist political formations in the country during the 1990s, many Hindus have been threatened or attacked, and substantial numbers are leaving the country for India still.

Despite their dwindling numbers, Hindus wield considerable influence because of their geographical concentration in certain regions of the country. They form a majority of the electorate in at least two parliamentary constituencies and account for more than 25% in at least another thirty.

For this reason, they are often the deciding factor in parliamentary elections where victory margins can be extremely narrow. It is also alleged that this is a prime reason for many Hindus being prevented from voting in elections, either through intimidating voters, or through exclusion in voter list revisions.

In Being Hindu in Bangladesh, journalist Deep Halder and academic Avishek Biswas explore the ground realities behind the statistics. Through extensive research in Bangladesh and using archival material and records, they attempt to sift out the truth behind the numbers. Their aim is to find out the lived experience of those who stayed on in the country, and ask important questions about the nature of identity, its connection with religion, and ultimately, the very idea of ‘home’…

UK: Mass Migration Has Been an Economic and Political Catastrophe

It is time the consensus that immigration always and everywhere increases growth and makes us richer was smashed

Living standards have fallen. Net after tax earnings have gone down, and so have the numbers of self-employed, and participation in the labour market.

There is, however, one set of statistics in which the UK is still booming. Net migration. According to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics, the number of people coming to the UK hit an estimated 672,000 in the year to June, while the figure for the whole of 2022 was revised up to an astonishing 745,000.

That comes at a time when we were meant to reduce the economy’s dependence on cheap imported labour, not increase it. The political class spends so much time obsessing over minor tweaks to the tax system of the sort the Chancellor announced in his Autumn Statement. But we keep ignoring the far larger problem. Our dependence on mass migration is turning into an economic, social and political catastrophe — and until we start getting to grips with that nothing will start to improve.

It probably won’t come as any great surprise to anyone that net immigration has hit yet another record. A country that was meant to be gradually weaning itself off foreign labour after the vote to leave the European Union has been doubling and tripling it instead. We are adding the equivalent of a city the size of Manchester to the population every year. With businesses clamouring for more and more workers every year there is little sign of that ever stopping. On current trends we could add 10 million people over the next 15 years, and perhaps more.

There is a consensus that immigration always and everywhere increases the growth rate and makes us all richer. Sometimes, of course, it does. Every vibrant economy should be open to new people, new skills, and exceptional talents, and we have plenty of evidence to show that entrepreneurs, artists, and political leaders are often predominantly drawn from a highly-driven, ambitious and hard-working immigrant population. And, of course, companies need access to a global talent pool if they are to build world-class businesses.

There are three big problems, however. First, the UK has turned into a country that is chronically unable to build anything. We hardly construct any new houses, we can’t build new roads, or railway lines, and we won’t secure our own energy resources to generate the gas and electricity that all the extra people will need. Sure, we could make the reforms necessary to unblock all of that, but there is absolutely no sign that any of the major political parties have the appetite. Once we figure out how to build the extra 250,000 new homes, on top of the existing demand, plus a couple of nuclear power stations to power them all, then it might make sense to run immigration at 700,000 annually. To do it before then is simply crazy.
