Republicans and Democrats Clash on CBDC Plans

In a clash of political parties and ideologies, US lawmakers are gearing up for a major debate over the concept of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). The Democratic and Republican factions are wrestling over several bills, each aiming to shape the destiny of digital currency in America, gravitating between the possibilities of outright banning CBDCs or initiating pilot schemes to explore their potentials.

Cornerstone to the fiery conversation is the proposition of a digital dollar, an idea so repulsive to Republican leaders that it has found a place in presidential campaign arguments and spurred an onslaught of bills aiming to extinguish it before it gains traction.

California Officials Dragged Feet Investigating China-Linked Biolab, Documents Suggest

Suspicions were raised about the operations of a Chinese-linked biolab in central California far earlier than previously known, according to a review of hundreds of internal emails, documents and photographs obtained by Fox News.

Two California state agencies called on by the city of Fresno to intervene in the matter tell Fox they had no authority to get involved but the delay of local and state officials to take action in fall 2022 appears to have allowed lab workers to empty a warehouse full of dangerous biological agents, lab mice, chemicals and equipment.

A trove of emails obtained through a public records request with the city of Fresno showed one official had been so concerned by Universal Meditech Inc.’s operations he filed urgent pleas with California’s environmental and toxic substance agencies for assistance in possibly shutting down the biolab before it could relocate.

The Clintons Welcome Trans Queens, Muslim Politicians, Foreign Oligarchs

by Daniel Greenfield

The Clintons are back in Manhattan, baby.

Once again random celebrities, Orlando Bloom, Matt Damon, Patrick Dempsey, Karlie Kloss, will rub shoulders with random foreign leaders like Mia Mottlev, the Prime Minister of Barbados,

Irfaan Ali, the President of Guyana, Biden administration officials, the heads of nonprofits with made up titles like “intersectional environmentalist”, heads of UN agencies, New York Times reporters, professional humanitarians and shady foreign oligarchs. (Mostly the latter.)

Getting to the Midtown Manhattan Hilton may not be easy due to its proximity to the masses of illegal aliens clustering around hotels that have been turned into homeless shelters, but once there delegates to the Clinton Global Initiative 2023 will have the chance to be in the same room as Atiqul Islam, the Mayor of Dhaka, and Qween Jean, the founder of Black Trans Liberation, not to mention Ashley Judd, who hopefully will not beat each other to death with swag bags.

Six years ago, when CGI appeared to be deader than everyone who had witnessed the Clintons commit federal offenses, a comeback appeared to be impossible, but thanks to the boundless generosity of Google, Pfizer, the UAE’s DP World, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Waltons, and Alfonso Fanjul, the glorious triumphant resurrection of Bill, Hillary and Chelsea is upon us.

Wait, are you wondering who Alfonso Fanjul is? The Clintons have a lot of friends. Especially wealthy friends with foreign last names. The Fanjul family controls Domino Sugar, which benefits from government subsidies, and Alfonso was a co-chair of Bill’s 1992 campaign.

But let’s not dwell on Alfonso, when another CGI sponsor is the MEBO Group…

EU Data Shows Ukraine is Exporting More Grain Now Than Before Bans in Central Europe

EU data shows Ukraine managed to export more grain in August than before the grain embargo instituted by five Central European countries, which may help counter arguments that these same countries are harming Ukraine’s ability to export agricultural products.

The data was revealed by European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski, which shows that a record 4 million tons of grain were exported through the “solidarity corridors” in Romania, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. This number shows that over 1 million tons more were exported by Ukraine than before the grain embargo (2.9 million tons). The current embargo on grain does not affect the transport of grain through countries like Poland or Hungary but simply bans it from being sold in those countries.

French Election: Rassemblement National Makes Significant Gains

Following Sunday’s election, which saw 35,000 mayors, as well as regional, departmental, and municipal councilors, head to the ballot boxes, to elect half of the French Senate’s 348 seats being contested, the establishment center-right Les Republicains (LR) emerged as the clear victor, maintaining its majority, while Marine Le Pen’s right-wing populist Rassemblement National (RN) made notable gains.

While Le Pen’s Rassemblement National had been widely anticipated to achieve a notable Senate breakthrough, its actual performance at the polls—which resulted in the party gaining three seats—exceeded all expectations. Previously, during the presidential election in April 2022, RN lost its only Senate seat when Stéphane Ravier defected to Éric Zemmour’s Reconquête.

Ukraine to Spend €1 Billion on Drone Army, Promises ‘New Phase of War’ With 10,000 New Drone Pilots in 2023

Ukraine is promising a “new phase of war” reliant on a drone army, with the country planning to invest over €1 billion to improve drone capabilities and train thousands of drone pilots.

With Ukraine running low on manpower and artillery shells, drones are seen as a potential answer to the country’s difficulties on the frontline. The Ukrainian military, which already extensively deploys drones, sees the unmanned vehicles as an opportunity to reduce its reliance on infantry to achieve its military goals, while also improving the accuracy of limited resources, such as artillery.

Ukraine: The Soldiers Who Can’t Leave the Front Line Until the War is Over

Open-ended service, just 10 days leave a year and a high casualty rate — for Ukrainian soldiers in one unit, life on the front line is far from easy, as BBC Newsnight witnessed up close.

Standing among some flattened buildings, “Jimmy”, a Ukrainian officer who’s been on active service for years, reflected on his survival: “I’m a lucky man… as I see it, war can either love people or not.”

His soldiers think the fact Jimmy’s still with them, despite multiple wounds, means he lives a charmed life.

His unit, the 24th Mechanised Brigade, has a long history, and is part of the old regular Ukrainian army, fighting the Russians from 2014. But since the invasion of February 2022, the army has more than trebled in size, the nation mobilised and Jimmy’s unit changed out of all recognition.

We spent two weeks in August with the 24th, which now serves in the Donbas, that old centre of smokestack industries in the east, occupying a section of the front between Bakhmut and Horlivka.

Armenia: Many Casualties Feared in Karabakh Fuel Depot Blast

A powerful explosion destroyed a fuel depot near Stepanakert, killing and injuring many people, authorities in Nagorno-Karabakh said late on Monday.

They said they are unable to immediately specify the number of casualties or establish the cause of the explosion at the facility located on a highway connecting the Karabakh capital to the town of Askeran.

Karabakh’s human rights ombudsman, Gegham Stepanian, said more than 200 people were injured in the explosion. He said that due to their limited capacity and lack of medication Stepanakert’s two main hospitals cannot to provide adequate care to all of these people. Many of the critically injured persons need to be urgently flown to hospitals in Armenia, added Stepanian.

“Active efforts are being made to organize the transportation of the injured to Armenia by helicopters,” the Armenian Ministry of Health told RFE/RL’s Armenian Service later in the evening.

The blast occurred amid a mass exodus of Karabakh’s population that followed last week’s Azerbaijani military offensive.

Videos posted on social media showed a long line of cars parked near the depot that received large quantities of gasoline over the weekend for the first since Baku blocked traffic through the Lachin corridor last December. Their owners were apparently waiting to fuel up and drive to Armenia along with their families. Thousands of other Karabakh Armenians fled to Armenia earlier on Monday.

China: MeToo Journalist is on Trial for “Subversion”

The trial of a Chinese journalist and her labor rights activist ally is again laying bare China’s increasingly oppressive statute on civil society. Huang Xueqin, at one time an influential figure in the Chinese #MeToo movement, and Wang Jianbing, her ally, were apprehended by the authorities in September 2021. Over six months later, both now find themselves grappling with charges of “inciting subversion of state power.” The muddled legal terms underlying their charges make evident the continual tendency in recent years for Beijing to repress outspoken critics of societal issues in the nation.

Huang rose to recognition early in 2018 for her endeavors towards encouraging victims of sexual harassment to break their silence. Her creation of a social media outlet for reporting such cases of alleged misconduct further highlighted the abiding issue in universities and offices alike. Following her detainment in 2021 — not her first brush with the law — she delivered a handwritten testimony, affirming that “Being a journalist is not a crime,” the Times reports.

TV Networks Join the Pushback Against Australia’s Proposed Anti-”Misinformation” Law

In a bid to stand up for freedom of speech, Australian free-to-air broadcast networks have raised criticisms about a proposed legislation aimed at combating so-called “misinformation.” The targets of controversy are the bill’s nebulous definitions of harm, potential violations of freedom of expression, and the risk of content censorship by social media platforms complying with government-imposed obligations.

The focal point of the dispute is drawn from the quote by Free TV which expressed concerns, similar to the Australian Human Rights Commission and various legal authorities. They pointed out that the suggested definition of “harm” is “harm to the health of Australians” and “disruption of public order,” allowing for room for misunderstanding and misuse, and potentially threatening freedom of expression on governmental and political matters.

This legislation hands over a wide range of new powers to ACMA, which includes the enforcement of an industry-wide “standard” that will obligate digital platforms to remove what they determine as misinformation or disinformation.

Migrant Surge Sparks Spending Spree as Chicago and NYC Dish Out Eye-Watering Contracts: Windy City Shelter Nurse Rakes in $20,000 in a Week

As buses of asylum seekers keep arriving in New York City and Chicago, the two cities continue to hemorrhage money as they use emergency contracts to set up the infrastructure needed to tackle the surge.

  1. Hundreds of Nigerian midwives working for Britain’s Nigerian Health Service (NHS) have been suspected of gaining their medical qualifications by fraud.

Thus a group of independent Nigerians will do an investigation into the Nigerian Health Service (NHS) to find it institutionally racist.

Then, thus awarding themselves bonus’s, commissions and big salary increases.

(Ever feel like your an occupied country?)

  2. Does anyone also feel like the daily onslaught of bad news has gotten worse? It used to be, every morning there’d be interesting tidbits and very funny memes. Now? Badnews badnews badnews wall to wall. This is not the way to win the culture war… methinks.

    • One can always choose to ignore it.

I think thats how most ‘muricans cope with it; burying their heads in the sand via following sportsball or social media garbage.

That’s the problem with taking the red pill though. Once you can see something it can’t be unseen. I tune out much of the news but even so I think it’s fair to say that everything is happening faster and the news is objectively worse now than it was ten or twenty years ago.

As for the culture war, there are plenty of people and personalities fighting it. But what we face can’t be won via culture when the evil creatures doing this stuff to us and our culture and our nations want us dead. There will be a time when we will have to fight them kinetically. Not all of us are cut out for that or have the skills to do it. There’s still many ways to be useful to those who can do it when things turn kinetic.

Why did war break out in Ukraine?

    LAST UPDATE: 26/9-2023 / snaphanen.dk

US prefers war to weaken Russia

    By Lars Hedegaard

In a recently published video, Jeffrey Sachs talks about the prehistory of the Ukraine war, and it is well worth listening to.

Why is it worth listening to?

Is Jeffrey Sachs someone whose views are important and therefore worth your time?

Sachs is an economist and political analyst, a professor at Columbia University in New York, and was Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General between 2001 and 2018.

Secretary-General between 2001 and 2018. It is therefore safe to assume that he speaks with some weight on international issues.

Without reproducing the full content of the video, Sachs recalls that a negotiated peace between Ukraine and Russia almost materialised in March 2022 – shortly after the Russian invasion. The deal was negotiated by Turkey, with contributions from Israel, but was blocked by the US, which preferred war.
    Mr Sachs points out that
    Vladimir Putin
made a peace proposal even before the outbreak of the war on 17 December 2021, whereby NATO would not seek expansion with Ukraine.

In this context, Mr Sachs called the White House and said that if the US did not seek a diplomatic solution to the conflict and thus accept Putin’s proposal, there would be war. Told that the US would not negotiate with Russia, Sachs concluded that the Biden administration wanted war.

According to Sachs, the war is only peripherally related to Ukraine, but more to the US desire to weaken Russia, and he characterises the Ukraine war as a proxy war, where Ukraine is armed to fight for US interests so that the US does not have to deploy troops itself.

“I, Lars Hedegaard, have no reason to doubt the facts that Mr Sachs points to”,
