August Inflation Breakdown: Where Are Prices Rising and Falling the Fastest?

Inflation accelerated for a second straight month in August as a spike in the cost of rent and gasoline kept prices abnormally high for millions of U.S. households.

The Labor Department said Wednesday that the consumer price index, a broad measure of the price for everyday goods that includes gasoline, groceries and rents, rose 0.6% in August from the previous month, in line with estimates.

Prices climbed 3.7% from the same time last year, faster than both the 3.2% reading in July and the 3.6% estimate from Refinitiv economists. It marked the steepest monthly increase this year, underscoring the challenge of taming high inflation.

Exoplanet’s Surface May be Covered in Oceans, James Webb Space Telescope Finds

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has discovered evidence of carbon-based molecules in the atmosphere of a suspected ocean world.

The extra-solar planet or exoplanet known as K2-18 b is a tantalizing target for astronomers as they search for life beyond the solar system, as previous research and observations with the Hubble Space Telescope have indicated that the planet could be an ocean or “Hycean” world replete with liquid water — a vital ingredient for life. K2-18 b has a radius between two and three times larger than Earth’s and located 120 light-years away from the solar system.

The new results showed traces of carbon dioxide and methane in K2-18 b’s atmosphere without detecting ammonia, which likely indicates a water ocean under a hydrogen-rich atmosphere.

Forensic Analysis of Deaths in Pfizer’s Early mRNA Vaccine Trial Found Significant Inconsistencies

Authored by Megan Redshaw, JD via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

A group of researchers are calling into question Pfizer’s and BioNTech’s early trial data on its original COVID-19 vaccine after a forensic analysis revealed significant inconsistencies between data in the companies’ six-month interim report and publications authored by Pfizer/BioNTech trial site administrators.

The preprint, published on Sept. 4, showed trial subjects vaccinated with Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine experienced a 3.7 times increase in cardiovascular deaths compared to placebo controls—a “significant adverse event signal” not disclosed by Pfizer when the vaccine was authorized for emergency use. In addition, the analysis found numerous instances where Pfizer/BioNTech attributed potential vaccine-associated deaths to other causes and undermined vaccine safety data.

How TikTok’s Attempts to Censor QAnon Suppressed Content About the Writers’ Strike

Amid the ongoing strike from the Writers Guild of America (WGA), TikTok, the prominent Chinese social media platform, has made another blow to free speech as it curbed searches related to the strikes.

Heightening concerns of the ever-chilling grip of censorship, this development again highlights the problem of corporations taking roles in regulating access to information.

The WGA strike, which has been ongoing since May 2, was a result of stagnant labor negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

However, recent attempts from users to make inquiries using the term “WGA” on TikTok have been stifled. Users are met with a screen message asserting that the phrase “may be associated with behavior or content that violates our guidelines,” with no videos in the resulting search.

JFK Assassination Witness Breaks 60-Year Silence, Refutes Key Claim

Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

A witness to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy spoke out for the first time in 60 years and refuted a key claim regarding the 1963 incident and a “magic bullet.”

Paul Landis, an 88-year-old former Secret Service agent, was just a few feet away from when President Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas. At the time, he was assigned to protect Jackie Kennedy, the former first lady.

Mr. Landis, in a recent interview with the New York Times, cast doubt on the government-backed Warren Commission’s finding that a “magic bullet” struck and exited the president before it struck then-Texas Gov. John Connally Jr., a theory that has been the subject of criticism for decades and has helped fuel a range alternative theories about the former president’s assassination. Officially, the U.S. government and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has maintained that a lone gunman—Lee Harvey Oswald—was the sole perpetrator.

Based on discrepancies between things that he witnessed during the assassination and the Warren Commission’s report that investigated the president’s death, he said “I’m beginning to doubt myself” and that “now I begin to wonder.”

In the interview with the paper, published on Sept. 9, Mr. Landis recalled hearing multiple gunshots at Dealy Plaza in Dallas as he went behind President Kennedy’s limousine, seeing the president moving forward after being shot in the head. After the assassination, Mr. Landis recalled picking up what he called a near-perfect-condition bullet from the back seat of President Kennedy’s limousine, near where the president had been sitting.

San Francisco Resident Smashes Robotaxi With Hammer in Viral Video

San Francisco has become ground zero for autonomous vehicle testing in recent years. The city is the first in the nation to host experiments with robotaxis operated by General Motors’ Cruise and Google’s Waymo, offering driverless experiences for passengers, albeit often at the expense of pedestrians and other drivers.

In the latest incident of pedestrians fighting back, one SF local took it upon themselves to deal with a wayward Cruise car on their own. Video circulating on social media shows the vehicle stalled at a street corner, which has happened more than once in recent months. Someone wearing a mask began smashing the car’s cameras, windshield, windows, and sensors with a hammer while onlookers questioned if they should call 911.

By the time police arrived on the scene, the hammer-wielding culprit was gone, and they found the Cruise car vandalized.

“Officers spoke with a witness, who said that they heard a scream and looked out their window to see the suspect standing in front of the autonomous vehicle,” police said in a statement, per the San Francisco Chronicle. “The suspect then began vandalizing the vehicle. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving on scene.” The vandal remains at large as the police conduct their “active and open investigation.”

Secession: Why Some in Oregon Want to Become Part of Idaho

Mike McCarter knows his American history almost as well as he knows his Bible. His family has lived and worshipped in Oregon for four generations. “The only time I lived out of the state was during the Vietnam War when I was in the military,” he said.

But his Oregon may not be the Oregon you’re thinking of, the one with the misty rugged coastline, pinot noir wineries, and its loyally Blue politics.

McCarter lives in the town of La Pine, in the state’s rural and more sparsely populated part — the Red side of Oregon.

“It’s almost like the Grand Canyon goes right along the Cascade Range,” he told correspondent Lee Cowan. “It is a big divide.”

What that means politically, he says, is that the Blue part of Western Oregon always outweighs the Eastern part’s Red.

Senators Call for Government Power to Hand Out Licenses to AI Companies, Curb “Deceptive” Election-Related AI and “Deepfakes”

Simultaneously, Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) unveiled preliminary details of upcoming legislation, crafted in tandem with Hawley, along with Senators Chris Coons (D-Del.), and Susan Collins (R-Maine). This new proposal targets the prospects of AI technologies pervading the electoral process.

Trump-Appointed Circuit Judge Strikes Down ‘Unconstitutional’ California Law That Restricted Firearm Advertisements

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Wednesday that California’s minor firearm advertising law likely violates the US Constitution, saying “The First Amendment demands more than good intentions and wishful thinking to warrant the government’s muzzling of speech.”

The state law which prohibits the marketing and advertising of firearms that “reasonably appear to be attractive to minors” was struck down by a three-judge panel, in which Judge Kenneth Lee wrote for the majority: “While California has a substantial interest in reducing gun violence and unlawful use of firearms by minors, its law does not ‘directly’ and ‘materially’ further either goal.”

Trump Slams George Soros’ Son: “We Can’t Let This Spoiled Little Degenerate Win”

This came in response to an article indicating that Alex, the newly appointed head of the Open Society Foundations, is reallocating resources with the aim of countering Trump’s MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement in the 2024 elections.

Trump’s message on Truth Social read, “We cannot allow this entitled individual to emerge victorious. His father wields significant influence over District Attorneys and Attorney Generals across America. Their actions are detrimental to our country. Mitch McConnell’s inaction is assisting them! 340 Years Ago, Poland’s King Halted an Islamic Invasion Near Vienna and Saved Christian Europe

On September 12, 1683, a coalition of Christian forces led by King John III Sobieski defeated the Turkish-Ottoman army and saved Europe from Islamic expansion.

It was one of the most important battles in world history: the last great charge of Polish hussars that saw Christian Europe saved from the yoke of Muslim rule. It was 340 years ago, but the victory of soldiers under King John III Sobieski near Vienna still reverberates to this day.

“This is one of a few battles or events when Poland, Poles, played a key role,” said Poland’s minister of culture and national heritage, Professor Piotr Glinski.

COVID Tests for Schools and Daycares During the Pandemic Incurred a Bill of 3.5 Billion Euros for German Taxpayers

Balance sheet after the Corona period in schools and daycare centers: 3.5 billion euros for rapid tests that could have been better invested, according to criticism from the “Lobbyists for Children” party. Many tests are still in the federal state depots. The education and family ministries defend themselves against criticism.

Billions in testing costs, but failures in catch-up programs in schools — this is what the “Lobbyists for Children” party criticizes. According to their calculations, the total cost of daycare and school testing for the coronavirus is at least 3.5 billion euros based on inquiries to the respective federal states, Die Welt reported.

Denmark Tightens Penalties for Violent Crime

Denmark’s Social Democratic Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Tuesday, September 13th, unveiled a legislative package comprising 39 measures designed to reduce gang-related activities and hold families accountable, citing the mass influx of foreigners from alien cultures as the reason for needing to do so.

Speaking to the press about the new package, Frederiksen said that although severe punishment in Denmark was unnecessary in the past, times have changed and now the security situation is such that the state is obliged to enact tougher sanctions against those who commit violent crimes, and in some instances, their families, the Copenhagen-based daily Berlingske reports. At a press conference, Frederiksen said,

There was a time in Denmark when we didn’t need to punish very harshly because we didn’t have very much crime. That has changed, unfortunately. And it is linked to immigration policy.

German Police Officer Accused of Dumping Oil on Radical Climate Protesters That Blocked, Glued Hands to Road

A police officer in Germany was accused of dumping oil on a radical climate protester accused of blocking the road and the matter is currently being investigated for potential disciplinary action.

The climate activists from Letzte Generation (“Last Generation”) glued their hands to the Konrad-Adenauer Bridge in Manheim on Sept. 3. The climate activists made allegations that some in the group were intentionally doused with oil, and provided a video showing at least one instance where a police officer holding a container of oil spilled it on one of the activists, who wear orange vests in their protests.

The alleged oil was used to separate the activists’ hands from the pavement. The tactic of gluing their hand to the road has been used by climate activists to raise awareness of climate change.

Hungarian Left Accused of Treason for Accepting US Campaign Money to Remove Orban From Power

A private Hungarian citizen filed a complaint with both Hungarian police and prosecutorial authorities after a former CIA analyst went public with a statement that the CIA attempted to interfere in the 2022 Hungarian elections and remove Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban from power.

Former analyst Larry C. Asked whether the CIA intervened to stop Orban, Johnson, said “Yes, to defeat him, which, among other things, America was trying to achieve by funding Orban’s opponents.”

Hungary: Recent Poll: Fidesz Maintains Lead as Autumn Parliament Session Approaches

In a fresh poll unveiled by the Nézopont Institute, the ruling Fidesz party continues to maintain a “commanding” lead over its political rivals in anticipation of the upcoming autumn session of parliament, as reported by About Hungary.

While the poll indicates that Fidesz is currently enjoying a solid position with 51% of the hypothetical vote if an election were to be held this Sunday. It’s worth noting that around 10% of Fidesz supporters, which translates to roughly 5% of the total electorate, harbor some uncertainty about their party choice. However, Nézopont emphasized that this “partial uncertainty” among Fidesz supporters doesn’t necessarily imply an intention to switch to another party.

Polish PM Addresses Nation, Says Poland Will Extend Embargo on Ukrainian Grain

In Tuesday’s address, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that Poland will extend an embargo on Ukrainian grain, regardless of the European Commission’s decision.

What was supposed to be just transit turned out to be a mechanism that flooded the Polish market with cheaper grain from Ukraine,” said Morawiecki.

The Polish prime minister reminded that in April, Poland, along with four other countries in the region, imposed a ban on the import of grains from Ukraine, and only then did the European Commission take a position favorable to Poland.

SOTEU: VDL Promises More EU and Less Democracy

The European Commission will prepare reforms to accommodate more than 30 EU member states in the near future, including measures to further centralize the EU decision-making process, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in the final State of the European Union address of her term on Wednesday, September 13th. The speech, which primarily focused on past achievements and ambitious promises, made clear that the EU chief is courting support both in Brussels, and with the voters at home, in favor of her possible re-election next year.

It was predicatable that von der Leyen would use the EU’s most important speech as her personal campaign kick-off event, especially since the Commission set up a new website ahead of the address dedicated to detailing the EU’s achievements from last year. Why Germany’s Wild Boars Are Radioactive

Fallout from nuclear tests conducted in the mid-20th century may contribute to the high levels of radiation seen in the animals today, a new study finds

From weapons tests to destructive accidents at power plants, human nuclear activity has contaminated the Earth with radioactive material. These unstable particles can spread long distances and remain in the environment for hundreds of years, accumulating in plants and the bodies of animals.

In Germany, for example, scientists have long known that the wild boars roaming forests in the country’s south contain high levels of radioactive cesium. Boars hunted in certain areas must be tested for radiation, and some have been deemed unsafe to eat.

Previously, researchers considered radioactive material from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion to be the primary source of the boars’ radiation exposure. The 1986 disaster in Ukraine released radioactive material that spread over 40 percent of Europe, as well as parts of Asia, Africa and North America.

But according to a new study, published late last month in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, fallout from weapons testing decades before Chernobyl still contributes significantly to the levels of radioactive cesium in the boars.

“The fact that the radiation from those nuclear tests is still present, even when compared to Chernobyl, is noteworthy,” Michael Fiederle, a radiation researcher at the University of Freiburg in Germany who did not contribute to the study, tells the New York Times’ Christopher F. Schuetze.

North Korea’s Kim Vows Full Support for Russia at a Summit With Putin at a Far East Spaceport

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea’s Kim Jong Un vowed “full and unconditional support” for Russia’s Vladimir Putin on Wednesday as the two leaders isolated by the West held a summit that the U.S. warned could lead to a deal to supply ammunition for Moscow’s war in Ukraine.

The meeting, which lasted over four hours at Russia’s spaceport in the Far East, underscores how the two countries’ interests are aligning: Putin is believed to be seeking one of the few things impoverished North Korea has in abundance -— stockpiles of aging ammunition and rockets for Soviet-era weapons.

Such a request would mark a role reversal from the 1950-53 Korean War, when Moscow gave weapons to support Pyongyang’s invasion of South Korea, and in the decades of Soviet sponsorship of the North that followed.

The new arrivals then sat down without further protest, as numerous other small boats were lined up waiting to disembark.

As of 5 pm local time there were 6,762 migrants and refugees on Lampedusa — more than the island’s population of around 6,000 — after an unprecedented wave of arrivals in recent days.

Situation on Lampedusa ‘Apocalyptic’ Says Island Priest

(ANSA) — ROME, SEP 13 — The situation on Lampedusa is “tragic, dramatic, apocalyptic”, parish priest Don Carmelo Rizzo said in an interview to Stranierinitalia.it on Wednesday.

“Not even rubbish is disposed of, water for the island comes from the mainland,” he continued.

“The Red Cross has supplies, but if 3,400 (migrants) arrive each day, they also fight over water among themselves.

“We are all on the alert and even the bishop is dismayed,” Don Rizzo said.

Texas Judge Who Previously Deemed DACA Illegal Reaffirms Ruling

A revised version of the federal policy known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program which prevents the deportation of thousands of immigrants brought to the U.S. as children has once again been deemed illegal by a federal judge who gave the same ruling previously.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen said in his decision Wednesday that on July 16, 2021, the court vacated the DACA program created by the 2012 DACA Memorandum, which prohibited the U.S., its departments, agencies, officers, agents, and employees from granting new DACA applications and administering the program.

Hanen’s decision then was affirmed by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Wednesday, reaffirmed by him.

Breaking: Pornhub Exec Caught on Camera Admitting Rapists and Traffickers Use Pornhub ‘Loophole’ to ‘Make a Lot of Money’

A new investigation out from Sound Investigations reveals that tube site Pornhub has found a loophole around the age verification process for explicit, pornographic videos. When videos are uploaded with faces blurred out, Pornhub does not verify the ages of those in the videos.

Pornhub CEO Mike Farley spoke with an undercover reporter over dinner, and revealed that execs at the porn site are aware of this, and that human traffickers and rapists use this feature of bypassing age verification to “make a lot of money.”

CAIR Wants Schools to Consult Mosques Before Teaching Sex Ed

by Daniel Greenfield

Prayers in schools and any kind of religious content, from the Ten Commandments to Christmas songs, remain widely opposed by litigious leftist organizations like the ACLU. And even the most modest efforts to keep kids from being exposed to graphic pornographic content have been assailed by the Biden administration which has sued school districts for trying to keep kids safe.

That’s why CAIR’s guide telling schools how to treat Muslim students is so extraordinary. The Islamist organization lays out rules for Islamic school prayers and tells schools to consult with mosques about sex ed. It warns schools against allowing Muslim girls to interact with boys in co-ed environments like swimming and dancing. And, in a time when leftist governors and school boards force girls to shower with transgender boys who claim to be members of their sex, it even insists that Muslim girls should shower in their burkinis even in single sex settings.

But what is truly extraordinary about the CAIR guide is that there will not be a word of protest against it from the same political establishment and media that smeared Florida laws empowering parents to protect students from sexual content as “Don’t Say Gay”.

There was a good deal of political discomfort when Muslims in Dearborn, MI, an Islamic dominated city, stormed a school board meeting to denounce LGBTQ content. Rather than addressing the fundamental conflict between its politics and Islamic law, the leftist media dishonestly blamed Republicans for having brainwashed Muslims to hate gay people.

Had an influential Christian or Jewish organization put out a similar guide to schools barring them from interacting in co-ed settings or being taught sexual materials, there would be outrage. The media would warn that we were on the verge of theocracy and schools would redouble their sexual programming. But that won’t be the reaction to the Muslim guide.

What will almost certainly happen instead is that the guide will be privately passed around by school administrations and treated as a mandate without it ever being publicly discussed.

But if implemented, these secret carve outs and exemptions will represent discrimination…

Dem Porn-Wife Cries ‘Sex Crime’ After Public Videos Used to ‘Humiliate’ Her in Race

Democratic Virginia House of Delegates candidate Susanna Gibson has blasted her opponents for “the worst gutter politics” after the Washington Post reported that she was performing sex acts online for cash.

Gibson, a 40-year-old nurse practitioner and mother of two, streamed various sex acts on ‘Chaturbate,’ where more than a dozen videos of she and her husband were archived on a publicly available site, Recurbate, in September 2022 after she entered the race. The most recent were two videos archived Sept. 30, 2022, however it’s unclear when the live stream occurred.

Gibson called the controversy “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me,” adding “My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up,” she told CNN in a Tuesday statement.

Private Prayer “Not Unlawful,” But Will British Police Take Notice?

Individuals who wish to pray silently in public, particularly near abortion clinics, might be unwise to feel comforted by the home secretary’s declaration that this is “not unlawful.”

One Birmingham priest, Father Sean Gough, last year made headlines when he was charged with violating the law and “intimidating service users” for standing near a Birmingham abortion centre while silently praying and holding a sign which read “Praying for Freedom of Speech.” He accused the government of “censoring the streets of the UK.” The charges have since been dropped.

Virginia Parents Appeal to Remove a So-Called Anti-Racist Policy From School District: ‘Racist at Its Core’

Virginia parents are continuing to fight back after a school board implemented an “anti-racism” policy in their children’s school district that they say treats children unequally and is “racist at its core.”

Five families in Virginia’s Albemarle County are suing the school board after it passed a wide-reaching anti-racism policy in 2019 for all schools in the district from elementary to high school. In their complaint, the plaintiffs allege the curriculum “indoctrinates children” in Critical Race Theory, and violates their civil rights. The parents say the district will not allow students to opt out of the curriculum.

Alliance Defending Freedom argued on behalf of these “racially and religiously diverse” families at the Court of Appeals in Virginia, Tuesday. The families are appealing a 2022 ruling to dismiss the case.

  1. Interesting about the Lithium, didn’t know this yet when talking about it the other day. Whatever this means for the chances to more reasonable policies in utilizing it, at least the Taliban can’t monopolize it then.

    • I doubt it will change much of anything.

America is full of all kinds of minerals and rare earths, yet little of it is ever allowed to be mined thanks to NIMBY morons and EPA regulations. More than half of the western United States remains federal land, and permits and leases are needed to develop the resources which are subject to the moods of whichever regime controls the White House.

The sad truth is that it would likely be easier to source lithium from the Taliban than from anywhere in the US.

      • But that’s only a home-grown problem, a class of problems for which always home-grown solutions exist as well. It may not happen timely and out of insight, but it will if there is enough pressure. Just the thought that the Taliban, out of all, would have a chokehold on this stuff is off the table. They still get enough buyers, no doubt the Chinese will still make them rich. But if they overstep it and religious violence becomes a threat to the trade, it’s only a short hop over the border and the communist boot comes down.

The Status of Non-Muslims Under Muslim Rule

After the rapid expansion of the Muslim dominion in the 7th century, Muslims leaders were required to work out a way of dealing with Non-Muslims, who remained in the majority in many areas for centuries. The solution was to develop the notion of the “dhimma”, or “protected person”. The Dhimmis were required to pay an extra tax, but usually they were unmolested. This compares well with the treatment meted out to non-Christians in Christian Europe. The Pact of Umar is supposed to have been the peace accord offered by the Caliph Umar to the Christians of Syria, a “pact” which formed the pattern of later interaction.

We heard from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam [died 78/697] as follows: When Umar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, accorded a peace to the Christians of Syria, we wrote to him as follows:

In the name of God, the Merciful and Compassionate. This is a letter to the servant of God Umar [ibn al-Khattab], Commander of the Faithful, from the Christians of such-and-such a city. When you came against us, we asked you for safe-conduct (aman) for ourselves, our descendants, our property, and the people of our community, and we undertook the following obligations toward you:

We shall not build, in our cities or in their neighborhood, new monasteries, Churches, convents, or monks’ cells, nor shall we repair, by day or by night, such of them as fall in ruins or are situated in the quarters of the Muslims.
We shall keep our gates wide open for passersby and travelers. We shall give board and lodging to all Muslims who pass our way for three days.
We shall not give shelter in our churches or in our dwellings to any spy, nor bide him from the Muslims.
We shall not teach the Qur’an to our children.
We shall not manifest our religion publicly nor convert anyone to it. We shall not prevent any of our kin from entering Islam if they wish it.
We shall show respect toward the Muslims, and we shall rise from our seats when they wish to sit.
We shall not seek to resemble the Muslims by imitating any of their garments, the qalansuwa, the turban, footwear, or the parting of the hair. We shall not speak as they do, nor shall we adopt their kunyas.
We shall not mount on saddles, nor shall we gird swords nor bear any kind of arms nor carry them on our- persons.
We shall not engrave Arabic inscriptions on our seals.
We shall not sell fermented drinks.
We shall clip the fronts of our heads.
We shall always dress in the same way wherever we may be, and we shall bind the zunar round our waists
We shall not display our crosses or our books in the roads or markets of the Muslims. We shall use only clappers in our churches very softly. We shall not raise our voices when following our dead. We shall not show lights on any of the roads of the Muslims or in their markets. We shall not bury our dead near the Muslims.
We shall not take slaves who have been allotted to Muslims.
We shall not build houses overtopping the houses of the Muslims.
(When I brought the letter to Umar, may God be pleased with him, he added, “We shall not strike a Muslim.”)

We accept these conditions for ourselves and for the people of our community, and in return we receive safe-conduct.

If we in any way violate these undertakings for which we ourselves stand surety, we forfeit our covenant [dhimma], and we become liable to the penalties for contumacy and sedition.

Umar ibn al-Khittab replied: Sign what they ask, but add two clauses and impose them in addition to those which they have undertaken. They are: “They shall not buy anyone made prisoner by the Muslims,” and “Whoever strikes a Muslim with deliberate intent shall forfeit the protection of this pact.”

  3. IRELAND (from TELEGRAM)

OPINION PIECE: Have we lost our sense of outrage. At what point does anger become justifiable. At what point does a sense of outrage lead citizens to realise that democracy and good governance has been stolen by a despotic elite and that it becomes the responsibility of citizens to take their democracy back by direct action…

    https://t.me/OffgridiIreland/47507

    • I recently saw a meme on WRSA that said we need to stop calling the super-wealthy “the elite”, which implies that they are better than us. Better to call them deadly parasites or the “predator class”.

Language is a weapon to force ways of thinking and behavior. As in referring to invasive orcs and rapists as “migrants” or “refugees”. So I too will stop referring to parasitic financial and cultural predators as “elites”.

      • “Better to call them deadly parasites or the “predator class”.”

Better to call them what they are: infantile Bolsheviks (aka commie-toddlers).

        • I respectfully disagree.

While some or even many might be communists, I think the communist label like the nazi label are overused and in most cases incorrectly applied to behaviors which are more accurately described as selfish, greedy, psychopathic, or just plain anus-hole.

Communism is a pretty specific and well-defined definition for a particular kind of economic system, and most financial parasites are definitely not communists since the motivation appears to be acquiring wealth and control at all costs while forcing the rest of us into a subsistence-level subservience like feudal serfs.

          • “behaviors which are more accurately described as selfish, greedy, psychopathic, or just plain anus-hole.”

            You’re making the case—infantile-Bolsheviks.

        • Many if not most of them are effete and incapable of physical violence, but through manipulation of currency and financial control they cause all kinds of actual violence and suffering. And, a universal characteristic is a complete lack of empathy or concern for those whom they harm.

          • “Many if not most of them are effete and incapable of physical violence”

I think most’re effete (i.e., latently or blatantly homosexual) and also notably infantile in their “thinking”. And, in my experience, that is a DANGEROUS combination, leading to frequent outbursts of angry—often violent!—behaviour.

Did you see the Tom Hanks’ movie, “Big”? Imagine, instead of a shy 12 year-old boy in a man’s body, it’s an aggressive (often angry!) two year-old and that “man” is the occupant of 10 Downing, 1600 Pennsylvania or a four-star general (in open-toed pumps!). After two generations of Bolshevik re-education (i.e., public schools and toddler-controlled universities), I think the likelihood of physical violence from these people (who scream at the sky like two year-old girls!) is high and climbing fast. But I could be wrong..
