Inflation in Poland Getting Closer to Single-Digit Level

The inflation in Poland decreased to 11.5 percent year-over-year in June compared to 13 percent in May, according to preliminary estimates by the Statistics Poland (GUS). The consensus forecast was for a reading of 11.7 percent year-over-year.

Prices of goods and services remained at the same level in June compared to the previous month. The lower inflation in June was a result of a slowdown in all its main components: food prices, fuel, energy carriers, and core inflation.

Adam Schiff Calls on Democrats to Pack Supreme Court With Leftists

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is renewing calls for Democrats to pack the United States Supreme Court with leftist justices who will further advance the Left’s agenda.

Schiff put out a rallying call to his fellow Democrats to “expand, unstack, and reform” the highest court in the land.

In an email to supporters of his Senate campaign, Schiff said, “We must unpack the court by expanding the number of justices on the court, instituting term limits, and enacting a code of ethics like every other federal court.”

Happy birthday, America — and RIP to its newly erected “Ministry of Truth.” That term comes directly from federal Judge Terry Doughty in the Western District of Louisiana, who issued an injunction a couple of hours ago that takes direct aim at the government-media censorship complex. Concluding that plaintiffs in the lawsuit have a strong likelihood of proving that the US government suppressed dissent — and particularly conservative dissent — Doughty ordered the Biden administration and its executive agencies to cease any coordination with social-media companies.

Fourth of July Cookout Costs 15% More Since Biden Took Office

The price of a July 4th cookout has gone up 15% since President Biden took office.

With information obtained from the American Farm Bureau on specific-item price changes in 2021, the White House touted a decrease in a Fourth of July cookout price by 16 cents, compared to the previous year, from $35.70 to $35.54.

“Hot dog, the Biden economic plan is working,” the White House said in a tweet highlighting the price drop, after Biden was in office roughly six months.

However, this year’s cost, when compared to the costs cited by the White House from the AFB’s list in 2021, is $40.90 — a 15% increase from 2020, before the president took office, according to an analysis by Just the News.

Freedom Fuel: Sheetz Sets Price of Gas at $1.776 Per Gallon for Independence Day

A gas station chain is making it more affordable for Americans to drive to their Fourth of July celebrations today, lowering the price of nearly all fuel at its nearly 700 locations to $1.776 per gallon.

Sheetz, a family-run operation with gas stations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, began the tradition in 2022 with the two cheapest grades of gasoline, but expanded the price drop to include everything but diesel this year.

“Don’t sleep on this deal,” Sheetz tweeted. “Promo pricing on all grades while suppliez last.”

Customers were quick to express their gratitude, with many posting pictures of their receipts.

“Thank you for being the best gas station & happy 4th!” a user wrote.

“Got up early on my day off for it,” one woman said, showing off that she’d paid just $14.73 for eight gallons.

“Woooooo,” exclaimed another user.

The promotion took effect at 12:01 am Tuesday, and some customers made their way to their local Sheetz in the wee hours of the morning to take advantage.

According to the American Automobile Association, the average national price for a gallon of gas is $3.53, with Sheetz’ promotion cutting the cost in half.

Penn State Forces Faculty to Grade Students by Race, Harasses Whites: Ex-Professor Lawsuit

Pennsylvania State University officials allegedly pressured a white English professor to grade students according to their race and retaliated against him for filing racial harassment and bias complaints stemming from its enforcement of “antiracism,” prompting him to quit.

The state-related institution was not only “deliberately indifferent to the racially hostile environment” for Zack de Piero, but “actively treated De Piero as the problem, suggesting mental health treatment and disciplining him for bullying when he dared to complain,” according to de Piero’s lawsuit, which alleges violations of Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, First Amendment and Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

The second-generation Italian immigrant was alarmed by the “race-essentialism focus” soon after arriving at Penn State’s Abington campus in suburban Philadelphia in 2018, “which he feared would be harmful to his students, a majority of which were from minority backgrounds and ethnicities,” according to the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism, which is sponsoring the suit.

The people killed range in age from 15 to 59. Two children were shot and wounded.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Action News has learned the name of the suspect accused of indiscriminately shooting people with an assault rifle on Monday night in Philadelphia, leaving five people dead and four others wounded.

Sources say that suspect is 40-year-old Kimbrady Carriker, who lives in the 5600 block of Belmar Terrace. The home is just a few blocks from the shooting scene.

Carriker has yet to be charged, but District Attorney Larry Krasner said at a Tuesday afternoon news conference he expects Carriker will be charged soon with multiple counts of murder.

Sources say the suspect made disturbing posts on social media prior to the gunfire. Sources say Carriker, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, owned the guns used in this mass shooting.

Twitter vs. Scrapers: Musk to Limit Number of Tweets Users Can Read

Last weekend, Twitter’s Elon Musk went on a confusing tweeting spree in which he announced measures to combat so-called ‘scrapers’, i.e., companies that mine large amounts of data from the social media platform for their own purposes.

Under Twitter’s new rules, users would only be able to read a limited number of tweets per day: verified accounts would get 6,000, while new and existing non-paying users would get 300 and 600 respectively.

The ability for people who haven’t registered to peruse the social media platform is also coming to an end.

According to Reuters, Musk had earlier expressed his displeasure with artificial intelligence companies such as ChatGPT-owners OpenAI, which he believed were using Twitter data to train their language models to generate automated texts.

Musk, however, did not explicitly refer to these companies as being the cause of Twitter’s intervention.

According to Musk, these limitations are “temporary,” as they are meant to address “extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.”

A Twitter spokesperson did not reply to inquiries about how long the restrictions might last.

Less than two hours after his initial tweet, which stirred considerable controversy, Musk quote-tweeted his original announcement but added that those numbers would be bumped up to 8,000 for verified accounts, while new and existing non-paying users would be granted 400 and 800.

Again mere hours later, Musk tweeted the cap was raised to 10,000 posts per day for verified users, 1,000 per day for unverified users, and 500 posts per day for new unverified users.

UCLA Refused to Hire a Psychology Professor After Grad Students Complained He’d Been Critical of DEI on a Podcast

Once it became clear her offer was solid she mentioned to the school that she had a partner who also taught psychology and asked if it was possible the school would consider hiring him as well. These kind of partner hires are not unusual in academia. UCLA asked Inbar to send his qualifications and next they set up a sort of job interview for him on campus.

That campus visit seemed to go very well overall but there was one thing that happened during the trip which seemed a bit odd in retrospect. It happened when Inbar was meeting with UCLA’s diversity issues committee

EU Court to Rule on Legality of Including Biometrics on ID Cards

In a crucial legal development, the European Court of Justice is set to pass judgment on a case that calls into question the conformity of fingerprint data storage on identity cards with the European Union regulations. The case, originating in Germany, examines if this practice stands in compliance with the EU’s Charter of Fundamental Rights and its data protection laws.

The case’s genesis was in 2021, when an individual hailing from Wiesbaden, Germany, sought a new identity card. However, the individual declined to provide fingerprint biometrics, which resulted in the city authorities refusing to issue the identification card.

This led to a legal conflict as EU law mandated the inclusion of fingerprint data on ID cards since 2021. The individual’s refusal set the stage for the escalation of the case, which was taken up by the campaign group Digitalcourage, and subsequently made its way to the European Court of Justice.

France’s Diplomatic Agenda Again Disrupted by Riots

Following the cancellation of Charles III’s planned visit to France at the end of March, which was postponed due to demonstrations against pension reform, France’s diplomatic policy has once again been affected by social unrest, this time with the cancellation of a planned trip by Emmanuel Macron to Germany.

For several months, France’s international image has been seriously dented by the repercussions of national quarrels on the country’s external agenda. In March, France was subjected to a barrage of demonstrations against the government’s pension reform plan. Paris was in chaos, with a long-term strike by street workers causing rubbish to pile up in the streets. As a result, King Charles III was forced to cancel his first state visit as sovereign at the request of the French government, which judged that the conditions were not right for what was supposed to be a festive occasion in honour of Franco-British friendship. The opposition to the government pointed to how the events tainted the image of France abroad and condemned the country as being incapable of ensuring domestic harmony.

French Media Reports Vigilante Gang Zip-Tying Rioters and Handing Them to Police

The existence of a masked gang of young men tying up rioters in one town is discussed in French language publications, but the mayor insists no such thing exists and tells locals to call the police if they witness unrest.

Witness accounts of a so-called “brigade anticasseur” (anti-thug brigade) in the port town of Lorlent, Brittany are reported by local newspaper Le Télégramme. In addition to what is reported by members of the public to the paper, a journalist for the publication claims to have seen a group of between 20 and 30 “young, hooded men” wearing balaclavas and gloves performing unofficial arrests.

Using zip-ties to restrain alleged rioters, the men are said to have then handed their captures onto the regular police on Friday night as well as having been seen putting out fires.

French Mainstream Journalists and Politicians Go to War Against Conservative and Dissident Journalism

An ongoing battle in France around who should lead a popular weekly newspaper, the Journal du Dimanche (Sunday Newspaper), or JDD, is a perfect illustration of what Frenchman Claude Chollet, from the Observatoire du Journalisme media watchdog, recently said on Remix News: That it is generally assumed in the French mainstream media there should be no room for right-wing conservative opinions as they are automatically dubbed “far right,” “xenophobic,” “racist,” “reactionary,” or even “fascist.”

That battle does not make the headlines like the destructive rioting and looting that have plunged France into a week of chaos already, but it is no less important. Indeed, the worse the situation gets, the more there is a need to enforce and consolidate what the French call “la Pensée unique,” or in other words, the one and only way of thinking that is allowed in the French mainstream media.

Hungary Threatens to Block All EU Military Aid to Ukraine

Hungary will not agree to any further EU financing of arms shipments to Ukraine until Kiev removes the nation’s largest lender from its list of “sponsors of war,” Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told a press conference on Tuesday. The minister blasted Ukraine over putting Hungary’s OTP bank on what he called a “list of shame” by calling the reasons for such a move “outrageous” and “unacceptable.”

“Our position is clear: until the OTP [bank] is removed from this list, Hungary will not greenlight any additional EU funding for weapon shipments to Ukraine,” the minister said. The decision will cover not just the €500 million ($546 million) tranche of arms Budapest vetoed earlier but any further military assistance as well, he added.

New French Revolution? Majority Support Ending ‘Fifth Republic’ as Macron Fails to Maintain Order

Two-thirds of the people of France would support the end of the Fifth Republic, as the government of President Emmanuel Macron continues to fail to restore social order in the country.

While the streets of France have descended into scenes similar to those seen in violent revolutions not witnessed in supposedly stable Western European countries for some time, the French public is apparently prepared to back a political revolution of their own, with a majority supporting the abolition of the republic that has governed the country since 1958, the fifth such republic since the violent revolution which abolished the Bourbon Monarchy in 1792.

Schlein Stumbles as Italian Left Faces Wipeout in Tuscany

The left-wing Italian Democratic Party (PD) could lose its historic stomping ground of Tuscany after Meloni’s right-wing coalition romped home in various municipal elections this month in the cities of Siena, Pisa, and Massa.

It is strongly suspected that the entire region could flip to the Right by 2025. Tuscany is one of just four out of the twenty electoral regions in Italy not dominated by the right-wing coalition led by the ruling Fratelli d’Italia party and other parties extending further right.

The string of losses is bad news for the Democratic Party’s newly elected uber-progressive leader Elly Schlein who, contrary to initial expectations, is only hastening the party’s demise as a serious force in Italian politics due to appearances of being elitist in the eyes of working-class voters.

Sweden’s latest Quran-burning demonstration, which this time saw an Iraqi national set fire to the Islamic holy book outside of Stockholm’s central mosque on Wednesday, June 28th, as Muslims celebrated Eid al-Adha, has prompted widespread fury across the Muslim world and a diplomatic debacle for the Swedish government as well.

Sweden’s ruling center-right coalition, despite having condemned the desecration of the Islamic holy book and insisting the stunt “in no way reflects the opinions” held by the government, has faced significant backlash on multiple fronts, including—but not limited to—having its embassy in Baghdad, Iraq stormed by an angry mob, the state broadcaster SVT Nyheter reports.

Bosnian Serbs Defy Dayton Agreement, Call for Referendum

Bosnia’s internationally appointed peace overseer, Christian Schmidt, stepped in to annul two decisions of the Serb-majority autonomous region on Saturday, July 1st, for violating the 1995 Dayton Agreement. In turn, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik refused to acknowledge Schmidt’s authority, accused the other party of violating the agreement first, and announced his desire to organize a referendum on the country’s status by the end of the year.

The current controversy began after the National Assembly of one of Bosnia’s two autonomous regions, Republika Srpska, voted to suspend Bosnian Constitutional Court rulings and stop publishing the peace envoy’s decrees in the region’s official gazette—both of which are specified by the Dayton Agreement, which ended the first Yugoslav war in 1995.

According to Schmidt, these decisions not only challenge the peace agreement but “directly violate the constitutional order of Bosnia-Herzegovina,” the High Representative said during a Sarajevo press conference on Saturday, July 1st. He also announced a new amendment to make attacking state institutions a criminal offense, effective immediately.

Pregnant Woman Injured in Tel Aviv Car-Ramming, Stabbing Loses Baby

The expecting mother was one of seven injured in the attack. “There is no moral equivalence, no justification,” the Israeli embassy in Washington tweeted.

(July 4, 2023 / JNS) A pregnant mother, who was one of seven people injured in a car-ramming and stabbing terrorist attack in Tel Aviv on July 4, has lost her baby, the Israeli embassy in Washington tweeted.

The embassy previously wrote of the attack, “There is no moral equivalence, no justification. Acts of Palestinian terrorism are fueled by an ideology of antisemitic hatred that vilifies the Jewish people.”

“Terrorism strikes again in the streets of Tel Aviv today,” tweeted Melissa Lantsman, a Jewish member of the Canadian Parliament.

“Praying for the full recovery of those injured in todays stabbing attack and car ramming attack. One victim— a pregnant woman who was wounded has lost her child as a result of her own injuries. An absolute tragedy,” she added. Another horrific act of terror, another incident the world won’t condemn.”

Erdogan Blames ‘War Lobby’ for Ukraine Peace Process Failure

Efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kiev have been “obstructed and eroded by the war lobby,” Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed. The president made the remarks on Monday while speaking to reporters in Ankara.

The president claimed Türkiye itself had been targeted by said “war lobby,” without naming any precise culprits. If Türkiye’s peace efforts had succeeded early on in the conflict, most of the destruction could have been avoided, Erdogan explained.

Meltdown Fears as Russia Claims False Flag Attack Imminent at Nuclear Plant

The ongoing Ukrainian counteroffensive looks set to reach the city of Zaporizhzhia shortly as Ukrainian intelligence claims that Russian forces are mining the city’s nuclear power plant to explode in preparation for its potential capture.

The allegation is fiercely disputed by the Russians who in turn issued a counterclaim that Ukraine itself was planning on attacking the plant. Russia has been in control of the hotly contested city and its nuclear power station since March 2022, and experts warn that fighting around the power plant could trigger a catastrophic meltdown.

The largest nuclear power plant in Europe, the Zaporizhzhia plant is equipped with six uranium-powered light-water reactors and became known around the world after it was damaged during the early stages of the Russian invasion following intense shelling.

Politico reports that Russian workers at the plant have already been instructed to leave by July 5th.

“For a very long time, foreign forces implemented a project at our border, which turned our neighbor Ukraine into a de-facto hostile nation, an anti-Russia. They pumped it with weapons for eight years, turned a blind eye to the aggression against civilians in Donbass, [and] fostered a neo-Nazi ideology,” the Russian leader explained.

Russia Claims it Shot Down Ukrainian Drones Heading to Moscow Overnight

AP — Russian air defenses on Tuesday foiled a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow that prompted authorities to briefly close one of the city’s international airports, officials said, as a Western analysis said Russia has managed to slow Kyiv’s recently launched counteroffensive.

The drone attack, which follows previous similar raids on the Russian capital, was the first known assault on the Russian capital since an abortive mutiny launched 11 days ago by mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin. His Wagner troops marched on Moscow in the biggest — though short-lived — challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin in more than two decades of his rule.

Authorities in Ukraine, which generally avoid commenting on attacks on Russian soil, didn’t say whether it launched the drone raid.

India: Hindutva Leader Jai Bhagwan Goyal Gets Death Threats in Social Media From Islamic Countries

Delhi Police Registers FIR.

Sakshi Saxena | HENB | New Delhi | July 4, 2023:: Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, and International Working President of United Hindu Front, Jai Bhagwan Goyal claimed threats to his life emanating from many Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Qatar. He alleged that he has received death threats on calls and social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp. The perpetrators have also allegedly threatened to feed him beef and forcibly convert him. Goyal is based in Delhi and he is also the national president of the Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena.

Dharmendra Bedi, the vice president of United Hindu Front, and the organization’s Delhi head Mahendra Manchanda have expressed their concern about Goyal and demanded his protection condemning such ‘life threat’. They stated that Goyal has been actively providing assistance to families and children affected by ‘love jihad’ . Both Bedi and Manchanda conveyed their solidarity and support for Goyal.

Goyal is at the forefront of various organisations, including the Hindu Nation Council and the City Council. He is currently leading a signature campaign and organising a Rath Yatra (chariot procession) to garner support for his campaign against forced conversions. He has also urged the Hindu society to transcend caste discrimination and unite against the oft-speculated conspiracy to establish an Islamic State in India by 2047.

Recognising the severity of the threats, Dharmendra Bedi has appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah and the Commissioner of Delhi Police to ensure the immediate provision of enhanced security for Jai Bhagwan Goyal. The safety and well-being of a leader of such significance are of paramount importance in maintaining social harmony and upholding democratic values, he said.

From the source, it is known, a written complaint has been filed with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Delhi Police. Based on his complaint, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under Section 295A and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 67A of the Information and Technology Act.

Islamabad Judge OKs Extradition Request for Saman’s Father

(ANSA) — ROME, JUL 4 — An Islamabad district court judge on Tuesday upheld a request for the extradition to Italy of Shabbar Abbas, the father of 18-year-old Saman Abbas who was allegedly murdered by her family for refusing an arranged marriage.

The Italian authorities have requested that Abbas be extradited on charges of killing Saman on the night between April 30 and May 1, 2021, near the northern town of Novellara together with four relatives including his wife, Nazia Shaheen, the only suspect who is still at large.

Abbas can appeal against Tuesday’s ruling to the Islamabad High Court.

The government of Islamabad also needs to give an opinion on the case since there is no bilateral extradition agreement in place between Italy and Pakistan.

Abbas was arrested in Pakistan last November after he and the other suspects fled Italy following the murder.

The trial into the murder of Saman began in Reggio Emilia in February 2023, with her uncle and two cousins in the dock, while Abbas and Shaheen have also been indicted in absentia.

Saman’s boyfriend is standing as civil plaintiff in the trial and says he will use any compensation for her death to set up a foundation for victims of arranged marriages and so-called honour killings.

Immigration to the Netherlands Jumped 60% in 2022; Now Above Pre-Pandemic Levels

The number of immigrants coming to the Netherlands in 2022 increased dramatically compared to a year earlier. Last year, about 403,000 people came to the country, 151,000 more than in 2021, representing an increase of about 60 percent. The increase is largely due to the war in Ukraine. This also means that the immigration figure is now higher than in 2019, the last year before the coronavirus pandemic, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) said on Tuesday based on new data.

Even excluding those making use of the Temporary Protection Directive (RTB) because of the war in Ukraine, the number of immigrants to the Netherlands was higher than in 2019. Roughly 295,000 immigrants came to the Netherlands for reasons other than that war, compared to about 269,000 in 2019, and almost 253,000 in 2021.

Spain EU Presidency: We Need a Deal on Migration by the End of the Year

It’s not surprising that the Spanish presidency will put the Migration Pact high up on its agenda, considering that its controversial ‘solidarity mechanism’—forcing countries to choose between accepting refugees or paying €22,000 per migrant into a common EU fund—would mostly benefit the Mediterranean frontline countries: Italy, Greece, and Spain.
