Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/9/2022

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that President Biden had not been briefed in advance of the FBI raid on former President Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago. American citizens were relieved to hear the news that the president exercises no executive control over the Department of Justice.

Meanwhile, the FBI seized the cell phone of Republican Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania.

In other news, a massive explosion shook a Russian air base in the Crimea, killing at least one person. The Ukrainian government has so far not claimed responsibility for the blast.

Canada Has Lost 74,000 Jobs in Two Months

Canada lost jobs for two consecutive months, with the nation seeing the loss of 74,000 jobs since May.

According to a report from Statistics Canada, Canada lost 59,000 jobs in June, with total jobs lost between May and August declining by 74,000.

Many of these job losses were amongst public sector employees, with 51,000 job losses recorded in July (the first decline in the sector in a year), while the number of self-employed workers rose by 34,000. Private sector employment numbers were little changed.

Despite the decline, the jobless rate of 4.9% has apparently remained the same, with there being fewer jobs but also fewer people looking for work.

Dutch Inflation Above 10% for First Time Since 1975

Inflation in the Netherlands climbed above 10 percent for the first time since 1975, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported based on its own calculation method.

According to the stats office, consumer goods and services were 10.3 percent more expensive in July than in the same month last year. In June, inflation was still 8.6 percent. The increase was mainly because energy prices have recently skyrocketed and house rents increased more.

3 Dead in Shooting at Florida Narcotics Anonymous Meeting

EDGEWATER, Fla. (AP) — A man went into a Narcotics Anonymous meeting in Florida and fatally shot his ex-girlfriend and her friend before turning the gun on himself, police said Tuesday.

Quinton Hunter brandished the gun shortly after entering the Monday night meeting, Edgewater police Chief Joseph Mahoney said during a news conference Tuesday. About 20 other participants safely fled and called police, he said.

Erica Hoffman and Ian Greenfield were already dead when officers arrived, the chief said. At some point after the shooting, Hunter began recording a Facebook Live which showed him wearing goggles and breathing heavily.

“It appears from the timeline we have that he had already shot Mr. Greenfield and had fired several other shots before he went live,” the chief said. “But he didn’t make any comments, he didn’t communicate with us. Just heavy breathing. It was very strange.”

Officers sought to make contact with the suspect to negotiate before a SWAT team breached the building and found the gunman and the two others dead inside, the post said.

Breaking: FBI Seizes Freedom Caucus Chair Scott Perry’s Phone Day After Raid at Mar-a-Lago

Just one day after FBI agents raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania said that the FBI has now confiscated his cellphone.

In a statement to Fox News, Perry said that he had been traveling with his family earlier on Tuesday, when he was approached by three FBI agents who handed the congressman a warrant and seized his cellphone.

“This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress,” Perry said in a statement to Fox News.

Critical Race Theory is a Threat to Our National Security

The U.S. military is being attacked from within. But instead of rifles and tanks, the weapon being used to dismantle our armed forces is progressive ideology.

The latest target is the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, which was established by George Washington and is where our rising generation of Army officers are schooled. Government watchdog Judicial Watch just uncovered that West Point leadership has been force-feeding cadets the tenets of critical race theory , a Marxist theory that stokes racial separatism.

As a result of two Freedom of Information Act lawsuits against the Department of Defense, Judicial Watch forced the release of more than 600 pages of PowerPoint slides, handouts, and other curricula used to educate West Point cadets on topics such as “modern day slavery in the USA.”

Deep State’s “Next Step Will be Assassination” After Trump Raid Warns Former NYC Police Commissioner

Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik has warned that if the FBI’s raid on President Trump’s home doesn’t stop him running in 2024, the “next step” for those seeking absolute control of the U.S. political system will be assassination.

Kerik, who was police commissioner during the 9/11 attacks, made the comments in a response to a tweet from former acting Director of the United States National Intelligence Richard Grenell, who blasted the raid as “outrageous” and akin to the actions of “third world dictators.”

Exclusive — John Solomon: Whistleblower Said FBI Office Behind Mar-a-Lago Raid Has a Political Manipulation Problem

John Solomon, founder and editor-in-chief of Just the News, noted on Tuesday’s edition of the Breitbart News Daily podcast with host Alex Marlow that whistleblowers from the Federal Bureau of Investigaion (FBI) warned of “political manipulation” at the FBI’s Washington Field Office, which conducted a raid on Monday of former President Donald Trump’s personal residence at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has not “taken” the whistleblowers’ allegations of partisan political corruption at the FBI “as seriously as the proof and evidence now merit,” Solomon stated.

FBI Raid on Trump Designed to Stop Him Running in 2024

The FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate is specifically designed to stop him from running for president again in 2024, legal experts have concluded.

Trump’s Palm Beach property was raided by the feds last night as part of a supposed investigation into Trump taking classified documents when he left office.

The Biden Regime dubiously claimed it had no advance knowledge of the raid, which has overwhelmingly been characterized by Republicans as politically motivated.

According to legal experts, the raid is clearly intended to be part of an effort to charge Trump with mishandling White House records, which would stop him from being able to run for president in 2024.

Judge Who Signed Off the FBI Raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Mansion Donated $2,000 to Barack Obama’s Campaign and Represented Jeffrey Epstein’s Lolita Express Pilots, His Scheduler and ‘Yugoslavian Sex Slave’

The Florida judge who signed off the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s mansion represented Jeffrey Epstein’s workers, it has been revealed.

Bruce Reinhart acted for several employees of the billionaire pedophile before he sanctioned the ‘unannounced’ search on Mar-a-Lago yesterday.

He left the local US Attorney’s office over a decade ago to set up a private practice and help staff members including his Lolita Express pilots and his scheduler.

He was accused in a lawsuit of breaking the Justice Department’s policies by using information from his previous job to benefit in the private sector, which he denied.

Meanwhile Reinhart was also revealed to have donated to Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008 and Jeb Bush’s when he ran against Trump in 2015.

St. Louis Woman Sentenced for Attempted Arson During 2020 Protests

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) — A St. Louis woman was sentenced Tuesday to 27 months in prison after trying to set fires at a 7-Eleven during a 2020 protest.

Officials said on June 1, 2020, Nautica Turner poured lighter fluid on the 7-Eleven in the 200 block of N. 17th Street while the store was being looted by other people. A man, Justin Cannamore, showed her a better technique for pouring the fluid before she took the container back and continued the attempted arson.

Cannamore, of St. Louis County, later set a fire in an aisle of the store which was put out when a firework exploded in the same location. Turner tried to restart the fire with a thin cardboard box but was unsuccessful before attempting to light a fire in a concrete trashcan outside the store.

Texas Father Convicted of Fatally Shooting His 2 Daughters

DALLAS (AP) — A suburban Dallas man who evaded arrest for more than 12 years after being accused of fatally shooting his two teenage daughters in 2008 was convicted Tuesday in their killings.

Yaser Said, 65, was found guilty of capital murder in the deaths of 18-year-old Amina Said and 17-year-old Sarah Said. Prosecutors did not pursue the death penalty, meaning Yaser Said receives an automatic life sentence.

Prosecutor Lauren Black has said Said was “obsessed with possession and control.”

The sisters were found shot to death in a taxi parked near a hotel in the Dallas suburb of Irving on New Year’s Day in 2008. Jurors heard a 911 call Sarah Said made by cellphone, telling the operator that her father had shot her and that she was dying.

Twitter and Facebook Ask Judge to Dismiss Laura Loomer Lawsuit

Twitter and Facebook have asked a federal judge to throw out conservative investigative journalist, activist, and congressional candidate Laura Loomer’s latest lawsuit filed because the social media companies banned her from the site.

Fighting Trudeau’s Travel Mandate in Court Part. 2

On Part 2 of this special two-part episode of The Rupa Subramanya Show, Rupa, Shawn Rickard, Karl Harrison and Sam Presvelos continue their conversation about their ongoing court challenge of Justin Trudeau’s travel mandate.

Last week, Rupa broke a bombshell story that proves the vaccine mandate imposed on Canadians was not based on science as the government claimed, but rather on politics.

An ongoing court challenge to the travel vaccine mandate has exposed the inner working of Covid Recovery — a government coordinated panel that was tasked with implementing the mandate. Not only did Rupa’s report highlight the fact that not a single member of the Covid Recovery panel have a science or medical degree, but the group was panicking to have scientific and medical justification for the mandate they imposed on Canadians that was never given to them.

BBC Dismayed by Brexit Blow to ‘Eat the Bugs’ Agenda

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has expressed dismay that Brexit has temporarily delayed efforts to normalise the consumption of bugs to achieve “net zero”.

The state-owned news organisation, funded by a compulsory licence fee which all television viewers and all consumers of BBC iPlayer content online must pay on pain of fines backed by imprisonment, noted that the sale of edible insects in Great Britain became illegal after the end of the so-called Brexit transition period — although not in Northern Ireland, which was surrendered to the European Union as a kind of customs and regulatory semi-colony — in a short video report focused on two so-called “insect farmers” with a clear commercial interest in the “eat the bugs” agenda.

Denmark Bans COVID Vaccine for Youth Under 18

Denmark has announced that people under the age of 18 are no longer allowed to get the COVID vaccine.

Those wanting their first shot were cut off after July 1, and no one in the age group — aside from those who are considered “high risk” and have a doctor’s note — will be allowed to get a second shot after September 1.

“Children and adolescents only very rarely become seriously ill from COVID-19 with the omicron variant. Therefore, from July 1, 2022, it will no longer be possible for children and adolescents under the age of 18 to get the 1st [shot], and from September 1, 2022, it will no longer be possible to get the 2nd [shot],” reads a government statement. England’s Woke Police Fail to Solve a Single Theft in 84 Per Cent of Neighbourhoods

Britain’s woke police forces have suffered a fresh blow to their credibility as statistics show close to nine in ten neighbourhoods where thefts have been reported have seen precisely zero solved.

British police officers, who have lost much of the sympathy traditionally afforded them by right-leaning members of the public as they arrest people for memes and jokes and brand tens of thousands as being responsible for so-called “non-crime hate incidents” while property crime and violent and sexual crimes are neglected, have likely lost even more now that it has emerged that they have failed to solve a single theft in some 84 per cent of neighbourhoods in the last three years.

Netherlands: Farmer Rebellion: Examining the Urban vs. Rural Divide

There is always talk of a divide between the residents of the city and citizens who live in rural areas, so I’m here in Amsterdam to find out what people think.

As you are aware, protests have been sparked across the Netherlands and in fact, these protests have been going on since 2019. This is when the Dutch government declared a nitrogen emission crisis which meant that farmers would have to cut their livestock by up to 50%, emission caps would be enacted so that the farmers would have to reduce fertilizer usage, and the continued worry of farmers having to give up their land to the state.

Fast forward now to 2022. The situation has escalated and the protests have grown substantially, and while the government is not backing down on their push toward the agenda 2030 goal, the farmers continue to rally to display their discontent with the Dutch government and the WEF-backed blueprints.

The UK Plans to Have Scheduled Blackouts in the Middle of Winter

The UK is being sent back to the Dark Ages, with the government planning to have several scheduled blackouts in the middle of winter to conserve power due to predicted energy shortages.

Under the government’s “reasonable worst-case scenario,” it’s expected that the country will face an electricity capacity shortfall leaving the UK with around a sixth of the energy needed during peak demand — and this is assuming the UK fires up its coal plants again.

According to officials who spoke to Bloomberg, this means that not just industries but households too will be forced to suffer organized blackouts.

Large Explosions Rock Russian Military Air Base in Crimea

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Powerful explosions rocked a Russian air base in Crimea and sent towering clouds of smoke over the landscape Tuesday in what may mark an escalation of the war in Ukraine. At least one person was killed and several others were wounded, authorities said.

Russia’s Defense Ministry denied the Saki base on the Black Sea had been shelled and said instead that munitions had blown up there. But Ukrainian social networks were abuzz with speculation that it was hit by Ukrainian-fired long-range missiles.

Videos posted on social networks showed sunbathers on nearby beaches fleeing as huge flames and pillars of smoke rose over the horizon from multiple points, accompanied by loud booms. Crimea Today News said on Telegram that witnesses reported fire on a runway and damage to nearby homes as a result of what it said were dozens of blasts.

Australians Are Paying $1,000 to Sleep in a Pod

Due to rapidly increasing rent prices, Australians have begun paying 1,000 AUD per month to sleep in a single-bed sleeping pod.

“Each capsule pod fits a single bed (can sleep one person only), equipped with own mirror, ventilating fan, USB ports, digital control panels, adjustable colour reading lights, safe locker, clothes hanger & curtain door for privacy. They look like space shuttles.

Each private room about 10sqm in size, has a queen size bed, desk and fan,” reads a Facebook ad from landlord Frank Chan.

That might seem like a lot, but it’s water in the bucket compared to what it costs to rent a flat in the country. Chan also advertises this fact, stating that “Capsule pod near CBD from $275 per week, or $1000 per month; Private room near CBD from $400 per week, or $1500 per month.

Albanians Are in the Top 10 of Foreign-Born Parents Giving Birth in UK, Data Reveals

Albanians are among the most common foreign-born parents in the UK for the first time.

More than 3,000 babies were born here last year to mothers from the Balkan country, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed.

But the figures have prompted questions about the true size of the Albanian population in the UK, which according to official figures stands at less than 50,000.

It comes after a shock report leaked to The Mail on Sunday revealed four in ten migrants crossing the Channel in dinghies were from Albania — a peaceful nation in talks to join the EU — far outnumbering those fleeing war or persecution in Afghanistan or Syria.

Greece: Pakistani Murderer Remanded in Custody — “Nicoletta Spoke Badly of the Qu’ran and Asked Me to Become Christian”

The 22-year-old Pakistani, who took the life of 17-year-old Nicoletta on August 1 in the western Athens neighbourhood of Peristeri, was sentenced to pre-trial detention, as expected, after he testified to investigators.

The Pakistani was accompanied by a strong police force in court so that he could answer to the severe indictment he is facing. However, the lawyer who previously represented the defendant resigned and a new lawyer was appointed, in whose presence he testified.

After his confession, with the agreement of the 25th regular investigator of Athens and the public prosecutor, the accused was deemed a temporary prisoner.

“Nicoletta was the love of my life, I regret it, I still haven’t recovered from the shock,” said the Pakistani killer to the investigator.

According to the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, he had filed an Asylum request once, last July, which was rejected within 15 days, while he then filed a late appeal.

UK: The TikTok ‘Summer Sale’ For Migrants: Smuggler Gangs Launch ‘Closing Down Sale’ And Slash Price of Channel Crossings by £1,500 Per Person as Traffickers Target Albanians on Social Media

People traffickers have launched a £1,500-a-person ‘summer sale’ to cross the Channel illegally in a dinghy — mainly aimed at Albanians exploiting a loophole in UK anti-slavery laws — and advertised on TikTok with the promise: ‘The French won’t stop you — they will escort you safely until you reach the UK’.

Amid continuing calm waters and warm temperatures, ‘never been cheaper’ prices are being offered on social media with experts finding that at least a third of the 3,000 migrants who crossed from France in the past six weeks used one of the offers.

MPs have demanded that ministers redouble their efforts to deport migrants to Rwanda following a surge in Albanians using small boats to enter Britain, lured in with cut prices and the promise: ‘Hurry Albanians … England is waiting.’

Bucking the Trend: Uganda Bans Work by LGBT Group

The Ugandan government has banned the activities of a local non-governmental organization that campaigns for the rights of sexual minorities. According to a senior official, the organization worked illegally in the African country.

The Ugandan authorities have temporarily banned a prominent LGBT non-governmental organization from continuing to operate in the country because it does not have a license from the National Office for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO Office).

The NGO Office, which reports to the Ugandan Ministry of the Interior and is responsible for overseeing, registering and regulating all NGO activities in Uganda, justified its decision by arguing that the aptly named Sexual Minorities Uganda operated illegally, since they were not registered with the NGO Office, it was still registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), in violation of the NGOs Act 2016.

Michigan Library Faces Closure After Voters Reject Funding to Protest LGBTQ Literature

Patmos Library in Michigan’s Jamestown Township may face closure next year after voters rejected a millage renewal on Tuesday in protest of some graphic LGTBQ content in the library’s collection.

Voters defeated the millage by 62% to 37%, or 763 votes.

Bridge Michigan reported that 84% of the library’s $245,000 operating budget was derived from local property taxes, which would have cost each household about $24 annually.

At issue are a few LGBTQ books in the Patmos Library, including a graphic novel titled “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maia Kobabe, a writer using the eir pronoun. The book discusses the author’s gender fluidity and sexuality, and several panels feature graphic illustrations of sexual activity.
