Illinois Governor Criticizes Texas’ Greg Abbott for Citing Chicago Crime Stats as Evidence ‘Real Gun Laws’ Don’t Work

Governor J.B. Pritzker of Illinois on Wednesday criticized Greg Abbott for bringing up Chicago’s gun laws and crime rates as a counter to calls for tougher gun laws in the state of Texas.

In response to Abbott’s statements made during a Wednesday press conference, Pritzker said the Texas Governor was spreading a “false narrative” on the issue of gun violence.

He cited an October 2017 report from NBC that said nearly 60 percent of Chicago’s guns came from out-of-state, with “more than 20 percent” of those coming from Indiana.

“You are lying about Chicago and what actually perpetuates gun violence. The majority of guns used in Chicago shootings come from states with lax gun laws,” Pritzker added in a follow-up.

Notably, Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot previously pleaded for federal government help in stopping the city’s crime.

When asked about the topic of gun control during a press conference on Wednesday, Abbott said the laws passed in 2019’s Texas legislative sessions were already some of the most “profound” seen “in any state and addressing school shootings.”

“I know that people like to try to oversimplify this. Let’s talk about some real facts. And that is: there are ‘real gun laws’ in Chicago. There are ‘real gun laws’ in New York. There are ‘real gun laws’ in California. I hate to say this, but there are more people who were shot every weekend in Chicago than there are in schools in Texas. And we need to realize that maybe if we just implement tougher gun laws, it’s gonna solve it: Chicago and LA and New York disprove that thesis.”

Southern Baptist Leaders Covered Up Sexual Abuse Claims and Kept a Secret Database of Offenders in Its Clergy — But Rarely Punished Them, Bombshell Church Report Claims

Leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America, stonewalled and denigrated survivors of clergy sex abuse over almost two decades while seeking to protect their own reputations, according to a third-party investigation sought by the church’s leaders.

These survivors, and other concerned Southern Baptists, repeatedly shared allegations with the SBC’s Executive Committee, ‘only to be met, time and time again, with resistance, stonewalling, and even outright hostility from some within the EC,’ said a 288-page investigative report revealed on Sunday.

The seven-month investigation was conducted by Guidepost Solutions, an independent firm contracted by the Executive Committee after delegates to last year’s national meeting pressed for a probe by outsiders.

St. Tammany Deputy Shot on Burglary Call, 13-Year-Old Suspect in Custody, Sheriff Says

WALDHEIM, La. (WVUE) — A St. Tammany Parish deputy was shot and wounded by an armed 13-year-old burglary suspect, Sheriff Randy Smith said early Wednesday (May 25). The agency said the young suspect is in custody.

In connection with the shooting of a St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputy and the burglary of a local area business, a 13-year-old Waldheim area male has been arrested and booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center on the following charges:

L.R.S. 14:27/30 Attempted First Degree Murder

L.R.S. 14:108.2 Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence

L.R.S. 14:108 Resisting an Officer

L.R.S. 14:62/I Simple Burglary

L.R.S. 14:95.8 Illegal Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile

L.R.S. 14:69 Illegal Possession of Stolen Goods

Smith told Fox 8 that Deputy Kenneth Doby was shot as he and another deputy wrestled the suspect to the ground on the side of a road, after spotting him walking away from Backroads Mercantile, a grocery store near the intersection of state highways 21 and 1083 in Waldheim that had been burglarized around 3 a.m.

While effecting the arrest, Doby was shot once, “beneath the back of his bullet-proof vest,” Smith said. The four-year veteran of the St. Tammany agency continued assisting his partner with handcuffing the teen even after being shot, then was taken to Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington for emergency treatment.

“Right now, it looks like he’s going to have a full recovery,” Smith said. “We’re very lucky. … We’re just thankful he’s going to be OK, because it could’ve been a lot worse.”…

Bit Badly by Their Own Incompetence, German Government Blames Russia

The United States and the European Union (EU) have been ineffective in their trade war against Russia and are currently working on their sixth package of sanctions. These sanctions have caused price hikes and food shortages…

European gas importers have already surrendered to Russia. European gas importers have quietly violated the EU’s own sanctions and have begun buying gas in Rubles, capitulating to Russia’s new rules. As the West’s economic warfare scheme backfires, EU leaders are beginning to crack even further.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is now blaming Russia for causing “brutal hunger” even though her country was the one that blocked Russia from trading agricultural products in the first place. Baerbock made these absurd comments at a recent G7 meeting…

As part of their original sanctions, Germany voted to block Russia from exporting food and grain, but now Germans and other Europeans are seeing skyrocketing prices and food shortages as a result…

These sanctions sought to prevent Russia from selling grain exports in euros and dollars. Now Baerbock is blaming Russia for weaponizing the situation into a “grain war” — absurdly claiming that Russia is responsible for food shortages throughout Europe.

At the opening day of a fair in the German city of Lüdenscheid, individuals from a group of six men who were described as “foreign-looking” opened fire, killing one man.

The man reportedly shot to death was a 40-year-old individual who was uninvolved in the initial dispute. The victim was transported to the hospital, but despite efforts to save his life, the man was declared dead.

The incident began as a dispute between a group of young men of “Southern appearance” and a 16-year-old at the traditional Steinert festival on Saturday evening. The attackers surround the youth, and a scuffle ensued. Although the situation calmed down, the group met the teenager again half an hour later, but this time the teenager’s father was present.

Hungary Crowned the Marriage Capital of Europe

Hungary has the largest proportion of married couples per capita in the European Union, according to a Eurostat report from May, a major milestone that coincides with a dramatic increase in births over the last decade.

Marriage rates are generally declining in the EU since the 1960s, falling from eight per 1,000 people 60 years ago to only 3.2 today. The year 2020 was a particularly devastating one for marriages, with only 1.4 million taking place across the entire EU, compared with 1.9 million only a year before. Eurostat explains the dramatic decline with measures introduced to combat the spread of Covid-19, but this alone cannot explain the unprecedented fall.

Klaus Schwab Tells Davos: my ‘Powerful Community’ is Setting ‘Global Agenda’

“The future is not just happening, the future is being built by us,” said Schwab, who has not been elected to represent anyone, let alone the entire human race…

It all comes down to trusting in the WEF to find the correct outcomes and implement them as instructed, Schwab and his unelected workers submit…

Schwab warned anyone who sought to trivialise the event or hijack its key messages, including the often-mentioned Great Reset, will be treated with contempt.

“A 2,500-strong in-person gathering … More than 50 heads of state and government will attend the meeting next week, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission…

Kristalina Georgieva, IMF managing director, European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde and director general of the World Trade Organisation Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala are also scheduled to be there.”

Macron’s New Education Minister Promoted Woke Social Science, Said France is ‘Structurally Racist’

In a decision that has sent ripples through the French political system, French President Emmanuel Macron has chosen controversial historian Pap Ndiaye as the country’s new education minister despite his promotion of racist claims about Whites and a long career almost entirely devoted to racial grievance.

Ndiaye, the director of the Museum of the History of Immigration and a “specialist” in the “social history of the United States and minorities,” has made a wide range of statements that are raising concerns about how he might transform France’s education system.

Moderna CEO on Jabs: ‘Nobody Wants Them’

“It’s sad to say, I’m in the process of throwing 30 million doses in the garbage because nobody wants them. We have a big demand problem,” Bancel said at a meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Attempts to pressure governments have apparently failed.

“We right now have governments — we tried to contact … through the embassies in Washington. Every country, and nobody wants to take them. The issue in many countries is that people don’t want vaccines.”

Researcher Steve Quayle had earlier pointed out that the very specific MSH3 gene sequence in the Moderna shot had been patented on February 4, 2016 and approved on March 7, 2017. Frontiers in Virology published confirmation of the presence of the MSH3 gene sequence in the SARS-CoV-2 furin cleavage site. The MSH3 gene’s presence — which has a one in three trillion chance of occurring in nature — is “highly unusual and requires further investigations”.

PM Orban Urges EU to Postpone Decision on Energy Sanctions Against Russia

The European Council should remove the topic of energy sanctions on Russia from the agenda of its next meeting, urged Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in a letter to the council president, Charles Michel.

In the letter, Orban said any discussion around enacting sanctions would be “counter-productive.”

“I am convinced that in the absence of a consensus, a leader-level discussion of the sanctions package would be countre-productive,” Orban wrote in the letter. “It would only highlight our internal divisions without offering a real chance to solve the differences.”

Revealed: In the 1990s, Germany Worked to Fragment Poland’s Political Scene for Economic Benefit

Polish intelligence services had information that Germany was actively working to split the Solidarity political movement in the 1990s to keep a dominant political party from forming, all in order to make it easier for Germany to expand its economic interests in Poland, according to Polish professor Bogdan Musial, who made the intelligence report public.

In 1989, Solidarity won the first partially free election in Poland after World War II and formed the first non-communist government, but from early on, Germany was working to blunt the growth of the party.

World Economic Forum Outlines Plan to ‘Abolish’ Free Speech (Video)

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has called for the complete abolishment of free speech across the globe as part of its agenda to usher in a ‘New World Order.’ …

“… I think we’re going to have to think about a recalibration of a whole range of human rights that are playing out online, from freedom of speech to … the right of data protection to the right to child dignity.” …

The establishment’s naked attempt to police free speech has become so laughably obvious that the Department of Homeland Security was forced to “pause” its newly-created “Disinformation Governance Board” in the face of widespread backlash.

Ironically, the board’s chair Nina Jankowicz blamed the Disinformation Board’s closure and her subsequent resignation on — you guessed it — “disinformation.”

Brazil: MasterCard Rolls Out Biometric ID System Used to Validate Food Purchases

Mastercard recently launched a program for retailers to offer biometric payment methods, like facial recognition and fingerprint scanning… The program has already gone live in five St Marche grocery stores in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with more trials also planned for Asia and the Middle East. Mastercard says it plans to roll it out globally later this year…

The president of cyber and intelligence at Mastercard, said: “… All the research that we’ve done has told us that consumers love biometrics”.

Did Mastercard only conduct its market research in China? It certainly sounds like it.

The current spin being used to justify using the biometric payment system and forcing the public to live in a dystopian cashless society is that it will “lead to shorter queues, be more hygienic than tapping in a pin, and be less vulnerable to fraud”.

A spokesman for Mastercard said: “No more fumbling for your phone or hunting for your wallet…”

Mastercard cited a study that claims 74% of the global population has a “positive attitude” towards biometrics. That number is highly questionable, but are the 74% aware of the dangers of implementing this kind of technology? …

The only way to stop the implementation of this Draconian system is to always pay with cash whilst the use of this new technology remains optional.
