Obama Economist Larry Summers Slams Biden on Inflation, ‘Doesn’t Look So Transitory’

Larry Summers, who was Secretary of the Treasury under Clinton and directed the National Economic Council under Obama, said on CNN recently that inflation is going to be unavoidable for the near future.

CNN host Erin Burnett asked Summers about his opinion on the subject:

“Given that you were worried about this before almost anybody else, and given that now you have got all these CEOs saying it’s going to go a year, maybe even past that, right, at that point, it wouldn’t be transitory, how long do you think inflation is going to go up?”

Summers replied with his expert opinion.

Dan Bongino, BLM Activist Who Threatened ‘Bloodshed’ Clash Over Rioting, Violence: ‘Answer the Question!’

A Black Lives Matter activist cut short his interview with Fox News’ Dan Bongino on Saturday night after the “Unfiltered” host confronted him about rioting and vandalism linked to the group — and Newsome’s recent threat of more such incidents to come.

“God bless you, man. I’m out of here,” Hawk Newsome, co-founder of BLM for the greater New York City area, told Bongino after the host’s persistent questioning.

Bongino started the segment by playing a video clip of Newsome speaking to reporters Wednesday about planned police reforms announced by Eric Adams, New York City’s mayor-elect, who is a former NYPD police captain and made fighting lawlessness a key theme of his campaign.

“If they think that they’re going to go back to the old ways of policing, then we’re going to take to the streets again,” Newsome said, referring to the street clashes that took place frequently in 2020 following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. “There will be riots, there will be fires and there will be bloodshed.”

Loudoun County Official Brands Non-Partisan Concerned Parents Group ‘alt-Right’

Juli Briskman, a member of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, branded a group of concerned parents who mobilized to challenge school board members “alt-right,” even though the group includes Black and Jewish parents.

The parent organization Fight for Schools recently obtained enough signatures to challenge all the remaining school board members who were in the private Facebook group that launched a campaign against parents who oppose critical race theory in the classroom. Fight for Schools filed the petitions against the school board chair last week. Briskman made her claim in a tweet responding to those petitions.

More Polls Show Looming Democrat Disaster

For the past year, since Biden won the election, the Democrats have operated like they have an unstoppable mandate. Yet they’ve run across internecine battles in their own party and a GOP that’s not interested in the kind of compromise where they let the left have everything they want.

Now we’re beginning to see more polls that don’t bode well for the Democrats and their self-appointed mandate. Witness the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll that looks like midterm doom for the Democrats.

France: Nationalism Makes a Comeback

Although the next French presidential election is months away, the way the media in Paris along with French chattering classes are behaving, one might think that we are on the eve of polling day.

Turn on any TV channel and open any newspaper and you are likely to run into oodles of speculation about the journey to the Élysée Palace.

One reason may be even the main one, for this premature interest is a 63-year old journalist who has cast himself as a modern version of the Prophet Jeremiah to depict gloom and forecasting doom for French democracy.

The man in question is Éric Zemmour, who has been lurking on the margins of French journalism, always in minor roles for almost three decades and, yet, is now entering as the rising star of French politics on the right or, as his enemies claim, the far right.

Bangladesh: Muslims Threaten Christian Family, Force Them to Leave Their Home, Steal Their Land

These Muslims, the “best of people” (Qur’an 3:110) have contempt for the Christians, “the most vile of created beings” (98:6). They know that in the perfect Islamic State, Christians would be paying jizya to them and submitting to their hegemony (cf. Qur’an 9:29). They know that police and law courts in Bangladesh are likely to be more sympathetic to them than to their victims. So there is no downside to this behavior.

India: Muslim Poses as Hindu to Trap Minor Hindu Girl, Abducts and Rapes Her, Pressures Her to Convert

These “love jihad” incidents are motivated by supremacist assumptions. The idea is that the Muslim community will always grow at the expense of the non-Muslim community, and that because that is a good outcome, any means, including deception, may be pursued in order to attain it. Also, pressure is brought on Hindu women to convert because of the Qur’an: “And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite to the fire, but Allah invites to paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And he makes clear his verses to the people that perhaps they may remember.” (Qur’an 2:221)

EU Should Stop Harassing Hungary for Defending Europe’s Common Border

Varga reiterated her country’s demand that the EU should have been obliged to finance the costs of the Hungarian border fence and to reimburse the related expenses. Furthermore, it would be appropriate to close the infringement proceedings initiated against Hungary for the management of migration, as they were initiated due to measures that protect not only the borders of Hungary, but also the borders of the whole of Europe from illegal immigration, Varga emphasized. Meanwhile, the only effective way to protect the border seems to be the fence, she added.

More Than 600 Migrants Reach Italy by Sea From North Africa

ROME — More than 600 migrants, many of them Egyptians, arrived in southern Italy over the past 24 hours, officials said on Sunday, defying stormy winter seas in search of a better life in Europe.

Italy has seen a sharp increase in boat migrants in recent weeks and the latest mass arrivals will put further pressure on Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s government to secure an agreement with European Union partners over how to deal with the influx.

Coastguards rescued some 300 men and boys overnight who were packed on a fishing boat off the southern toe of Italy. The group, almost all Egyptians, were brought ashore to the nearby port of Roccella Jonica.

Hours later, some 212 mainly Egyptian and Syrian migrants were taken off a second boat and brought to Roccella Jonica.
