Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/16/2021

I got home early enough tonight to put together a news feed, but I didn’t have time to read everything closely. So here it is.

However, I did notice that there were massive numbers of people demonstrating against the vax mandates and vaccine passports, not just in the USA, but all across the Western world.

78 Arrested for Blocking Traffic in Last Day of D.C. Fossil-Fuel Protests

Police arrested 78 people Friday as Indigenous groups and other environmental activists wrapped up five days of “People vs. Fossil Fuels” demonstrations in Washington, D.C. The arrests came after about 100 people sitting in the street refused to leave when U.S. Capitol Police warned them to disperse or face arrest for obstructing traffic. Three of those arrested also were charged with assault on a police officer, Capitol Police said. During the week, hundreds of protesters called for political leaders to reject fossil fuels to fight climate change and show respect toward Indigenous communities.

Crowd Protests Vaccine Mandates, Gathers in Support of Former KCBD Employees

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) — A crowd of citizens gathered Saturday morning outside the KCBD building on Avenue A. They protested COVID-19 vaccine requirements, including KCBD parent company Gray Television’s requirement, and were gathered in support of former KCBD employees.

Members of a Facebook group, Health Freedom of Lubbock, have been holding events for months, including the protest Saturday morning, voicing opposition to COVID-19 vaccine requirements or mandates. And, more recently, they are showing support for Governor Abbott’s executive order and proposed state legislation banning any public or private entity from requiring COVID-19 vaccinations.

Deadly TikTok Trend Sees Teens Consuming Massive Amounts of Caffeine Powder

A new trend has taken to the social video sharing platform, TikTok, this time with deadly consequences — and the world’s most popular YouTuber is among those sounding the alarm.

Unlike previous trends, which saw TikTok users vandalizing Space Jam 2 toys by beheading LeBron James action figures, or the Milk Crate Challenge, which saw participants standing on stacks of milk crates, the latest trend — the so-called Dry-Scoop Challenge — has participants consuming highly caffeinated scoops of powder.

Instead of following the instructions, TikTokers are filming themselves consume large quantities of pre-workout powder, which contains between 150 to 300mg of caffeine, or up to three times the amount of caffeine contained in a cup of espresso. The “dry-scoopers” can be seen choking on the powder, and many of them have reported heart palpitations after taking the challenge. One participant was even hospitalized for the effort.

Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, condemned the trend as a “terrible idea,” showcasing dozens of videos while mocking the participants for the dangerously stupid activity.

Delta Air Lines Ditches ‘Divisive’ Vaccine Mandate for Employees

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian announced Thursday on Fox Business that his company will not enforce a vaccine mandate for the airline’s employees.

It was previously reported back on Aug. 25 that the airlines was slated to impose a surcharge on its unvaccinated employees due to the extra potential health risks for them. During an interview on Fox News show “Claman Countdown,” the Delta Air Lines executive iterated that, without the necessity of a vaccine mandate, the company has already achieved a 90 percent rate of vaccination among its employees, and expected the numbers to top 95 percent within a month’s time.

DeSantis Threatens to Sue Biden Administration Over Vaccine Mandate

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday threatened to sue the Biden administration over an anticipated coronavirus vaccine mandate.

The governor’s comments came during a press conference in Fort Myers on monoclonal antibody treatments, which the governor has worked to make more accessible in the state to prevent severe COVID-19 infections.

“I think that the mandate is going to lose in court,” DeSantis said during the press conference regarding the federal mandate.

Former South Philly Judge of Elections Charged in Massive 4-Year Voter Fraud Scheme

Since the 2020 presidential election, Democrats have demonized Republicans who raise concerns about election integrity. But a new report Wednesday said a staffer of one Philadelphia politician had been engaging in voter fraud as far back as 2015.

According to Philadelphia magazine, Marie Beren, 67, faces federal charges for participating in a voter fraud scheme from 2015-2019. The outlet said Beren faces four charges related to voter fraud, one of which is conspiracy.

At the time of the charges, Beren was serving as a staffer for Philadelphia City Councilmember Mark Squilla. However, she has previously served in plenty of other political roles in the city.

Groups Behind Primary Sinema Super PAC Bankrolled by George Soros

A recently launched super PAC working to lay the groundwork for a primary challenge against moderate Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona in 2024 has strong financial ties to left-wing Hungarian billionaire George Soros.

Primary Sinema PAC, which launched late last month to much fanfare, is the project of two groups bankrolled by Mr. Soros. The organizations — Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA) and Way to Win — have received more than $2 million from Mr. Soros in recent years.

Ms. Sinema became a target for a primary challenge from the left after she refused to go along with President Biden’s $3.5 trillion social welfare and climate change bill, objecting to the high price tag.

According to the draft, the goal is to amend Section 230 in order to limit the liability protection when internet services make personalized recommendations (i.e., tweak their recommendation algorithms) of user generated (third party) content.

Illinois Democrats Reward Never Trump Adam Kinzinger by Redrawing District to End His Career

Democrats in the Illinois state legislature released their proposed new congressional district maps, which place Republican Adam Kinzinger in a Democratic district and force him to run in 2022 against an incumbent who is likely to defeat him.

Kinzinger, a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump who is also an enthusiastic member of the January 6 commission, might have expected Democrats to reward his service to their cause by preserving his far suburban Chicago district, the 16th.

Instead, the Democrats who are in charge of redrawing the map have divided the 16th district, putting Kinzinger in a new version of the 3rd district, which has been Democratic for decades and is currently represented by Rep. Marie Newman.

Judge Orders Chicago Police Union Chief to Stop Encouraging Officers to Disobey Vaccine Mandate

A temporary restraining order was issued by a Chicago judge against John Catanzara, the head of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police, barring him from discouraging his members from disclosing their vaccination status.

This order comes hours before a deadline for all public employees in the city of Chicago to disclose their vaccine status to officials. Unvaccinated employees will be required to undergo testing for the COVID-19 twice per week going forward.

According to Axios, the order against Catanzara, a vocal critic of the vaccine mandate, will be in effect through Oct. 25, when a formal hearing into the matter has been scheduled. Employees who refuse testing will be placed indefinitely on unpaid leave until they either get vaccinated or agree to the testing.

Loudoun County School Superintendent Admits ‘Failed’ Effort to Provide a Safe Environment, Left-Wing Board Member Resigns

Scott Ziegler, the superintendent of Virginia’s embattled Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), said that the school district has “failed” to provide a safe environment for its students. The superintendent’s comments were in response to local parents outraged over how reports of two sexual assaults were handled inside schools. Following the superintendent’s statement, board member Beth Barts, who previously targeted parents who are against Critical Race Theory in schools, resigned from her position.

“First, let me say to the families and students involved — my heart aches for you and I am sorry that we failed to provide the safe, welcoming, and affirming environment that we aspire to provide,” Ziegler said during a press conference on Friday, according to a report by ABC 7 News.

Twitter Advises Congress on Antitrust Regulations

Twitter is showing itself as a proponent of government-regulated tech, but it has its own slant and this policy is laid out in a paper that lists a number of suggestions to US Congress.

Echoing a proposal made earlier by Google-owned Jigsaw to come up with new standards for the internet as a way to supposedly guarantee that it stays “open, private, and protecting human rights,” Twitter, too, suggests that the internet should be built “on open standards.”

Some interpret this as a way the company would like to protect itself from being at times blocked by various governments — since the “standards” argument has to do with guaranteeing access to sites.

“We write to express our concerns regarding a recent memorandum issued by your office,” the four members wrote in the letter, questioning Garland’s motive for issuing the memo which instructed the FBI to take the lead on a task force to address threats against school officials, including creating a centralized way to report such threats.

The members who signed onto the letter include Commissioners Peter Kirsanow, J. Christian Adams, Gail Heriot, and Stephen Gilchrist.

Watch: ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Chant Erupts at Yet Another College Football Game

Spectators of the Liberty college football game on Saturday against Middle Tennessee erupted with yet another impromptu “Let’s Go Brandon” chant.

Liberty’s Flames would go on to trounce Middle Tennessee, beating them with a final score of 41 to 13. Liberty classifies itself as a Christian educational institution, and as such, it’s not surprising that the student fans opted for the version of the chant with the cleaner language to get their point across at the match-up.

The “Let’s Go Brandon” chant has come into use as a euphemism recently for “F*ck Joe Biden,” after a reporter at an Oct. 2 NASCAR event pretended that fans were chanting the former when they were actually chanting the latter.

Extinction Rebellion to Start 14-Day Campaign on Vancouver Streets

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Hoping to press its demand for more action on climate change, an environmental activist group is launching a series of daily disruptions in Vancouver.

Extinction Rebellion protests have been a mainstay on the weekends in Vancouver for quite some time, but this time, the group plans to launch a 14-day campaign this Saturday with a “die-in” at Burrard Street and West Georgia Street.

Brent Eichler, from Extinction Rebellion, says the series of disruptions are designed to pressure governments to take stronger action on climate change.

“Today we’re going to be gathering in the streets, and we’re going to be performing non-violent civil disobedience, and risking arrest. And our demand is for, especially the federal government, but all levels of government and their subsidization of fossil fuels,” Eichler said.

Four Arrested in Vancouver on Day One of Weeks-Long Climate Protests

Arrests have been made following a protest in downtown Vancouver to demand climate action.

On Saturday, October 16, Vancouver Police confirmed that four protesters were arrested following a “die-in” at the intersection of Burrard and Georgia in Vancouver.

Extinction Rebellion Vancouver announced earlier in October, 2021 that it would participate in two weeks of mass civil disobedience in the city.

“Two weeks of constant disruption aims to put the climate and ecological emergency in the national media spotlight and push the provincial and federal governments to end all fossil fuel subsidies,” said a release from Extinction Rebellion Vancouver. “Arrests are expected throughout the two weeks,” they said.

Constable Tania Visintin with the VPD said in a statement that a “group of 50 people marched to the intersection of Georgia and Burrard streets Saturday afternoon.”

Pick-Up Hockey Protest Takes Place Outside Scotiabank Arena

It was dubbed “Shinny Night in Canada” as dozens of children and their parents descended upon Bremner Boulevard in downtown Toronto to play some good ol’ fashioned street hockey.

While the kids had a jolly good time, their parents and hundreds of like-minded individuals converged on Bremner to protest the ever-intrusive rules being foisted upon Ontarians in the name of “curbing the pandemic.”

Indeed, H is for hockey and H is for hypocrisy — and there was plenty of that on display Wednesday evening.

For starters, at nearby Scotiabank Arena, almost 20,000 hockey fans were in attendance, sitting cheek-to-jowl as they watched the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens.

While all spectators had to be fully vaccinated and don masks in order to gain entry to the Bay Street Cashbox, amazingly, the same rules did not apply to the players on the ice… you know, the mask-less ones who are involved in a contact sport?

Why Not Just Comply?

Nurses protest against hospital vaccine mandate

I attended a protest that took place outside the Cambridge Memorial Hospital this past Thursday evening. A large group of nurses and other hospital staff gathered opposite the hospital, alongside family members and supporters, to protest the vaccine mandate being imposed by the hospital as ordered by the Ontario government.

Most hospital employees with whom I spoke said that they have now been placed on an unpaid leave for refusing to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19. If they continue with their refusal to provide proof of vaccination, their employment with the hospital will be terminated.

This defiance on the part of frontline healthcare professionals— and their willingness to sacrifice their careers over this— prompted some crucial questions.

David Amess Stabbing Leaves U.K. Lawmakers Reeling From Latest Attack

Britain was reeling Saturday from the killing of a veteran lawmaker in a public stabbing that sparked a terrorism investigation and renewed calls to address politicians’ safety.

The attack on David Amess while he met with the public in a small town just outside London left the country’s political establishment shaken once again, five years after the killing of another lawmaker.

Police declared Friday’s incident at a church in Leigh-on-Sea an act of terrorism and said that the early investigation had revealed a potential motive linked to Islamist extremism. But as the probe continued and tributes poured in for the longtime member of parliament, the spotlight was also shifting to politicians’ safety…

50 Czech Police Officers Arrive to Aid in Protection of Hungary’s Border

Fifty Czech police officers arrived in Budapest on Friday to help protect the European Union’s Schengen borders in southern Hungary.

Zoltan Janos Kuczik, the deputy of the national police chief, noted the increasing migration pressure as a “serious security threat for Europe” in his address at the reception ceremony. Protecting the southern borders serves security in the whole of Europe, he said, adding that international cooperation was crucial for efforts against illegal migration.

Kuczik noted that the number of attempts at illegal entry had been 17,000 in 2019, 46,000 last year, and 90,000 in the first nine months of 2021. He also added that 915 legal proceedings had been launched against human smugglers this year, nearly three times as many as in the same period of 2020.

PM Orban: Western Europe Thinks Their Children ‘Can be Substituted With an African or an Asian One’

Netflix Fires Trans Employee for Leaking Sensitive Company Information on Dave Chappelle Special

Netflix has fired the leader of the transgender group that planned to perform a company-wide walkout on Oct. 20 to protest Dave Chappelle. The walkout itself was not the reason for the employee’s dismissal. Instead, Netflix fired the employee for leaking confidential metrics of the comedian’s latest special to the press — details of which appeared in Bloomberg. Earlier this week, Rebel News reported that transgender employees planned to protest Netflix’s refusal to deplatform comedian Dave Chappelle following outrage over his latest comedy special, “The Closer.” On Oct. 20, the group planned to perform a walkout from the streaming service, which they detailed to tech outlet The Verge.

  1. But what interesting things I managed to dig up on the net.

The other day I posted on my blog information about those killed by Robin Jihood in Norway.
    https://www.document.no/2021/10/16/de-ble-drept-pa-kongsberg/
(Thank you god of information, now thanks to google translate I can read articles in Norwegian without knowing this language)

One of my readers exclaimed: this is Andréa Meyer (Andrea Haugen, aka Nebelhexë), a famous folk singer!

Here is an article in Russian

    Northern Witch Andrea Haugen.

The current trend of returning to the roots and reviving the traditions of distant ancestors finds many adepts around the world. In my opinion, this tendency is only welcome, since without knowledge of the past, it is impossible to move into the future. Currently, there is no shortage of creative teams, the concept of which is based on the study of ancient rituals, ancient rituals and bringing this knowledge to a wide range of listeners or viewers. But, as usually happens in such cases, there are not so many really interesting and talented artists, whose work can be called unique in its own way. One such figure on the modern scene is Andrea Haugen, who will be discussed in this article …

    • By their fruits thou shalt know them: And from an article in the Czech Newspaper, I found out that her “style” was “Darkwave” and “Neofolk”, and that she worked with bands “Cradle of Filth” and “Satyricon”. She made an Album named “Gaslights” and another one called “Penetrate”.

      • I listened and I liked individual compositions, although I do not like ethnic music.
Oddly enough, there is a lot of grief among young people in Russian social networks for this “Valkyrie”, especially in the context of the mention of the “Muslim savage”.

        • Witches do make nice music, because they like to hypnotize audience – that’s my personal opinion.

I wrote what I wrote, because there was a moment in my life when I realized, that they tend to dive into “filth and disgustingness” – kind of like the “Stockholm Syndrom” but in music: They beat you down, then they give you a cookie, then they beat you down again.

That moment happened when I worked with a Scottish colleague of mine, and he gave me his CD collection to play in a car on our long travels across Norway. I opened that CD collection, and among 120 CD’s, there was not a single CD with a “nice name”. The names of the bands, and the names of the Albums, were: “Poison”, “Filth”, “Death”, etc. I kid you not, every one of his CD’s was named something like that, and the music was terrible deppressing horror music…

The guy suffered from bad nightmares, and he had to smoke joints or he could not sleep, because of those nightmares.

That is when I realized, how much filth is pushed down on “us young people” through music, and when I see an album named “Cradle of Filth”, I immediately see it as satanic, depression provoking filth.

But I have never listened to this Valkyrie, my judgement could be wrong. I am against Islam, but I will not join the withches “against our common enemy”.

          • Well, this is not an indicator. For the most part, I am in such a state of mind that I can only listen to “Lacrimosa”. (Q: How do you deal with depression? Answer: I enjoy it)
I don’t like ethnics, although now it is very popular. Everyone is jumping in honor of their ancestors, in honor of these illiterate people with sticks and spears, as if they can tell us something important.
I love the craftsmanship. That is why I love Baroque music.

  2. Today these are the news from my country.

The “Great Restart” and the diet: “We will eat ethical food” .
They now openly say their plans.

A huge revolution is expected to take place in the coming years and in the way we eat, as global organizations now speak openly about the “Great Restart” in nutrition as well.

The foods we choose and the way we consume affect not only our health, but also the health of the planet, points out the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on the occasion of World Nutrition Day. The United Nations estimates that activities related to the production, processing, distribution and consumption of food are responsible for one third of carbon dioxide emissions.

“We are now talking about food integrity, the so-called product integrity,” explains food scientist and biologist Nikos Gontelis to APE-MPE. That is, a product must be “ethical”, not harm the environment. As China and India’s meat markets expand, carbon dioxide production is rising. “There are studies that say that if we turn our diet to less energy-intensive models, that is, we do not eat beef, we do not eat pork, we do not eat intensive crops that are cereals, we will save the planet in this way .”

According to a UN report released in September, carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced by up to eight gigatons a year by conserving natural habitats, reducing food waste and switching to a plant-based diet. Already, the range of products made from vegetable proteins, such as cheese substitutes, has grown on refrigerators and supermarket shelves. At the same time, in countries such as the United States, Israel and Japan, studies and experiments for the production of meat from stem cells have begun for several years.

“It simply came to our notice then. They have arrived and are being produced. There are companies that have invested in everything to do with this new trend to reduce the energy footprint and carbon footprint of our food. That is, instead of breeding cows and calves, the development of steak substitutes from cell masses is examined. These products take shape with the help of 3D printing. Everything shows that the cost of eating will not go down, it will go up. So, substitutes for today’s diet should be developed which will be cheap for the people “, describes N. Gdontelis.

Billionaires such as Richard Branson and Bill Gates have been investing in the development of this technology since 2018, according to the American network CNBC.

But for experts, the transition to less energy-intensive foods must be accompanied by coordinated actions to reduce waste. In Greece from January 1, 2022, according to the recently passed law 4819/2021 (Government Gazette 129 / A / 23-7-2021), hotels over one hundred beds, catering services with an annual turnover of over three hundred thousand euros and Catering companies with an annual turnover of more than five hundred thousand euros, are obliged to implement procedures to avoid the generation of food waste. As well as to register on an annual basis the produced food waste. Also, as provided by law, food surpluses will be available in the form of donations, through a special electronic platform.

According to UN figures, food waste worldwide is estimated at 1 trillion. dollars while at least 690 million people worldwide do not have access to food. The Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that due to food insecurity, rising cost of animal protein, environmental pressures and population growth, more people worldwide will turn to insects.

Indicative is the decision of the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed (scoPAFF), which gave the “green light” for the commercialization of the yellow worm in the European Union market. Dried yellow worms are the first edible insect to receive a favorable opinion and the decision is considered a milestone.

    • Communism was supposed to be “scientific”, and by the virtue of “science” the communist system was to win the race against outdated “capitalism”, because capitalism produces a lot of products that are never consumed and therefore wasted.

Funny how the communists managed to get rid of unnecessary waste, and beat that hedonistic, wasteful capitalism to the ground!
