Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/6/2021

A Chinese military scientist named Yusen Zhou filed for a patent for a COVID-19 vaccine in the early days of the coronavirus crisis, before the disease had officially been declared a pandemic. Unfortunately, Mr. Yusen died suddenly in May of last year and is no longer around to answer questions about his prescience.

In other news, the Italian center-right, led by Matteo Salvini of the Lega and Giorgia Meloni of the Fratelli d’Italia, is now polling at 52%.

3 People, Including Corrections Officer, Killed in Shooting After SW Miami-Dade Grad Party

MDPD Director Freddy Ramirez said the shooting took place outside of a graduation party near the intersection of SW 104th Street and 109th Court

Police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that killed three people, including a corrections officer, in Southwest Miami-Dade after a grad party.

MDPD Director Freddy Ramirez said the shooting took place inside a strip mall parking lot near the intersection of SW 104th Street and 109th Court.

Ramirez said two vehicles, a dark colored Chevy Malibu and a white Toyota Camry, pulled into the parking lot near where the party took place and began opening fire.

Seven people were confirmed shot and three were killed, according to police.

Two of the deaths occurring when the Malibu crashed into a wall at nearby Miami Dade College’s Kendall campus. A firearm was found inside that car, according to police.

Ramirez said the third victim, a female who was a corrections officer with the state of Florida, died at a nearby hospital…

California County Cuts Death Toll After Finding Fatalities ‘Clearly Not’ Caused by COVID-19

The coronavirus death toll in a California county has been cut by 25 percent — after officials found that some fatalities were not a “direct result” of the virus.

Alameda County on Friday issued a corrected death toll that puts the total number of fatalities at 1,223, significantly down from its previous count of 1,634.

“Alameda County previously included any person who died while infected with the virus in the total COVID-19 deaths for the County,” health officials said in a statement.

“Aligning with the State’s definition will require Alameda County to report as COVID-19 deaths only those people who died as a direct result of COVID-19, with COVID-19 as a contributing cause of death, or in whom death caused by COVID-19 could not be ruled out.”

Democrat Manchin Sides With ‘The People’, Will Vote Against “Democracy-Binds Weakening” Election Reform Bill

We have written extensively in the past few months (here, here, here, and here) discussing the costs (both fiscally and to freedom) and consequences (both intended and unintended) of the so-called “For The People” Act, it appears at least one Democrat politician has decided that the power grab is too much.

In a sweeping op-ed in the Charleston Gazette-Mail, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) explained why he will vote against the sweeping election reform overhaul bill, putting the fate of the legislation in jeopardy in the evenly split Senate.

I believe that partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For The People Act,” Manchin wrote.

As a reminder, the 791-page bill includes all of the greatest hits of 2020: Mandatory mail ballots, ballots without postmarks, late ballots and voting in precincts where you don’t live. It includes so many bad ideas that no publication has satisfactory space to cover all of them.

Interracial Couple Says Critical Race Theory ‘Hurts’ People of Color

An interracial couple from Chicago has condemned the controversial critical race theory movement — arguing that it “hurts” the black community by victimizing people of color.

“When I hear the ideas of critical race theory, they don’t remind me of my experience here in Chicago at all,” Takyrica Kokoszka, a black woman and Chicago public school teacher, told Fox News.

Kokoszka and her white husband, Martin, live in the toney, liberal Illinois suburb, Oak Park, with their biracial children.

Lincoln Project Compares Antifa Terrorists to D-Day Heroes

On the 77-year anniversary of Allied forces hitting the beaches in Normandy, anti-Trump organization Project Lincoln compared Antifa terrorists to D-Day heroes.

“The work of opposing fascism is as American as apple pie. As we again face the rise [sic] fascism — this time on our own shores — that work must continue,” the Lincoln Project’s account tweeted Sunday. Project Lincoln’s account specified Friday that the “work must go on” to combat “the rise of right-wing fascism.”

Project Lincoln exploited the Normandy invasion by distributing fee publicity for the violent Antifa organization, likening its radical members to American patriots.

Stanford Epidemiologist Claims Fauci’s ‘Credibility is Entirely Shot’

A Stanford epidemiologist said Dr. Anthony Fauci’s “credibility is entirely shot” after his conflicting advice on face masks throughout the pandemic — which the scientist criticized as “all over the place.”

“There are emails you can find in the treasure trove of emails that have been released where he acknowledged the virus has been aerosolized,” he continued.

“Well, the cloth masks people have been recommending, they’re not particularly effective against aerosolized viruses.

“I really don’t understand his back and forth, and his answer made absolutely no sense.”

State Department ‘Warned’ Officials Not to Investigate Lab Leak Theory Over Fears it Would Expose US Funding of Gain-of-Function Research

State Department staffers reportedly had “warned” officials not to investigate the theory that COVID-19 leaded from he Wuhan Institute of Virology over fears that the investigation would expose US funding of gain-of-function research.

In a memo obtained for a Vanity Fair report investigating the origins of COVID-19, the former acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance Thomas DiNanno voiced his concerns over the warnings.

According to Vanity Fair, DiNanno wrote in the memo that “staff from two bureaus, his own and the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, “warned” leaders within his bureau “not to pursue an investigation into the origin of COVID-19” because it would ‘open a can of worms’ if it continued.”

Virologist Who Told Fauci SARS-Cov-2 ‘Potentially Engineered’ Just Nuked His Twitter Account

Kristian G. Anderson who runs the Andersen Lab in La Jolla, CA, wrote in a Feb. 1 email to Fauci “The unusual features of the virus make up a really small part of the genome, less than 0.1 percent, so one has to look really closely at all the sequences to see that some of the features (potentially) look engineered,” adding that he and his team found “the genome inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory.”

Sweden: Self-Criticism: A Conversation With Göran Adamson

Göran Adamson, an associate professor of sociology with a PhD from the London School of economics, is engaged in public debate in Sweden focusing on issues of free speech and diversity; and an outspoken critic of “multiculturalism.” His most recent book — Masochist Nationalism: Multicultural Self-hatred and the Infatuation with the Exotic — was published by Routledge in March 2021.

Grégoire Canlorbe: You have been working on a statistical study of the relationship between ethnic background and crime in Sweden. Have you found a connection?

Göran Adamson: Important information was just revealed in an update of the 2005 prevention agency report I recently headed — a completely private initiative. It had been almost 20 years since the Swedish state had done any research about the relationship between migration and crime. The two most salient features we found were that that among people who were suspects or were, with good reason, suspected of a crime were migrants. The result was more than half — about six out of 10 in Sweden. When it comes to the murder rate, people suspected, with good reason, of murder made up about 73% or 74%. In 2017, three out of four people suspected of murder in Sweden were migrants — a figure that seems frightfully high. The funny thing is that the Swedish Social Democrats, and others you might call multiculturalists — the “politically correct” — they have not been interested in investigating this, even though these are issues that Swedish people are talking about. Maybe the most important issue — and the reason why the other party, Sweden Democrats, has become so huge over the last 10 years; they are now almost the biggest party in Sweden — like Marine Le Pen’s National Rally Party in France. I think if you check the migrants who are the most likely suspects of crime, many of these people are, regrettably, Muslims — the risk that this person has committed a crime is about roughly three times higher than for a Swede. So, sadly you could say that there is a link.

If you were to say that crime among migrants has to do with culture, I think unfortunately it is fair to say that an association has to be made.

In Sweden, however, what people talk about are “socioeconomic factors” — which they claim are the causes behind everything: crime, rape, marginalization, exclusion, unemployment and financial issues. The multiculturalists link these issues to our country and say they are something we are to blame for. Those are completely different from culture, which is something that people bring with them when they come to Sweden.

The “socioeconomic” explanation as the main cause of crime among migrants is what has been dominant among many Swedes for decades. “Culture,” they repeat over and over again has nothing to do with it!” So, we ask them: “Okay, if socioeconomic factors are the reason behind crime among migrants, then how do you explain that migrants from, say, Vietnam or Thailand, have a far lesser propensity for crime than migrants from other parts of the world?” Marginalized people from the Far East are actually under-represented in crime. They are less likely to commit a crime than Swedes are.

The socioeconomic factors simply do not give a satisfactory explanation. There are people who come from much worse circumstances than some of the people from the Middle East. Even so, these people who come from much worse circumstances — such as the Vietnamese — are much less prone to committing violence than other migrants. Which means that there has to be another explanation, which is cultural: how you view women, how you view the state, whether you have any respect for the state, or whether you would rather live in clan-based societies. I am not criticizing individuals, but if you turn a blind eye to cultural differences, you will end up with this extremely appealing, sweet, self-critical multicultural explanation, saying that everything has to do with “socioeconomic factors.” People walk about — politicians, members of the media and academics, all repeating this particular explanation — without realizing that it doesn’t quite explain huge differences in criminal propensity between groups of migrants from various regions of the world.

The Czech Government Withstands Motion of No-Confidence

The minority government of ANO and the Social Democratic Party (CSSD) withstood the motion of no-confidence initiated by the opposition on Thursday.

Communist (KSCM) MPs played a key role in the ruling government’s survival by leaving the Chamber of Deputies in the morning, and did not take part in the following all-day debate and vote. This meant the remaining opposition parties were unable to acquire the 101 votes needed to overthrow the government in the 200-member chamber.

In the past, President Milos Zeman made it clear that, given the upcoming elections, he would allow Babis’s government to lead the country, despite a possible vote of no confidence. The current prime minister’s government also survived previous such motions in November 2018 and June 2019.

‘Damning’ Science Shows COVID-19 Likely Engineered in Lab: Experts

“Damning” science strongly suggests that COVID-19 is a man-made monster, optimized in a lab for maximum infectivity before hitting the outside to catastrophic effect, two experts said Sunday.

Writing in an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal, Dr. Steven Quay and Richard Muller pointed to two key pieces of evidence to support the claim, which has increasingly gained steam after long being derided as little more than speculation.

The first relates to the nature of gain-of-function research, in which microbiologists tweak a virus’ genome to alter its properties, such as making it more transmissible or more lethal.

Of the 36 possible genome pairings that can produce two arginine amino acids in a row — which results in boosting a virus’ lethality — the one most commonly used in gain-of-function research is CGG-CGG, or double CGG, wrote Quay and Muller.

Since the start of the pandemic over a year ago, Facebook, and other social media platforms, have been flagging posts suggesting the virus leaked from a lab. The social media giant relies on independent fact-checkers to “debunk” conspiracy theories.

In the case of the lab leak theory, it relied on an article by Science Feedback, which “debunked” an opinion piece by Steven Mosher, published in the New York Post on February 23 2020, titled, “Don’t buy China’s story: The coronavirus may have leaked from a lab.”

The Science Feedback article cited a letter published in leading medical journal The Lancet, signed by “27 eminent public health experts.”

Fauci’s NIH Funded Wuhan Military Scientist Who Died Mysteriously After Filing COVID Vaccine Patent

As we move further down the rabbit hole of exactly what in the devil has been going on in China’s ‘bat labs,’ we now turn our attention to one Zhou Yusen — a Chinese military scientist specializing in coronaviruses who collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s “Bat Woman,” Zhengli Shi — with at least one project to geneticially manipulate coronaviruses having been funded by three grants from the National Institutes of Heath (NIH) — home to Dr. Anthony Fauci — via US universities, according to documents obtained by The Weekend Australian (ostensibly leaked by Aussie intelligence). The previously undisclosed NIH funding of a PLA military scientist is separate from millions in grants awarded EcoHealth alliance, which also collaborated with the WIV.

The revelation shows American money was funding risky research on coronaviruses with People’s Liberation Army scientists — including decorated military scientist Zhou Yusen and the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s “Bat Woman”, Shi Zhengli.

Now we learn that Zhou, 54, is dead — three months after filing a patent for a COVID-19 vaccine in Feb. 2020.

Burkina Faso: Muslims Murder at Least 132 Civilians in Jihad Raid on Village

UN top dog Antonio Guterres is reportedly “outraged” over this. Yet he would be the first to jump in line to condemn, stigmatize and silence any attempt to explore and elucidate the motivating ideology behind attacks such as this.

“At least 132 civilians killed in Burkina Faso’s worst attack in years,” Reuters, June 6, 2021.

Sharia in Action in Mali: Muslims Amputate Right Hands and Left Feet of Three Men in Accord With Qur’an

This is, says AFP, “an apparent revival of a practice that had all but vanished.”

Why is it being revived? Because it’s in the Qur’an, and so when it is discarded, some Muslims will continue to insist that their troubles can be attributed to having departed from Allah’s law, and claim that if full Sharia adherence is restored, other troubles will disappear.

EU Expresses Anger After Denmark Approves Proposal to Send Migrants to Third Countries

On Thursday, the Danish Parliament approved a bill that would allow sending asylum seekers to third countries, even outside the European continent. According to the law, migrants will be registered upon arrival in Denmark and then board a plane bound for countries, for example, in Africa, where the partner country will handle further application proceedings.

Among the states that could partner with Denmark are countries such as Rwanda, reports the AFP agency. Ethiopia and Eritrea are allegedly also negotiating with Copenhagen, with the Danes covering the cost of the whole process. The law also states that a migrant may be retained in that third country even if his or her asylum application is approved.

The European Commission has already expressed concerns about the new Danish law.

EU Looked at ‘Importing 70 Million Africans’ By 2035, Says German MEP Gunnar Beck, Denouncing ‘Disastrous’ New Migration Pact

Senior AfD figure and Euro MP Gunnar Beck said a strong election result would prove a useful weapon in his party’s battle against the European Union’s controversial proposed Pact on Migration and Asylum that looks to enlist its members in a centrally-run redistribution of asylum seekers across the bloc.

I have myself been working on the EU migration pact for some time and for me the enactment of such a pact would be disastrous,” Beck told RT.com. “Because the EU not too long ago was talking about importing up to 70 million Africans into Europe by 2035. In my humble opinion this is not what we need to modernise our economy.

The Coast Guard said that the organisation had life-saving equipment sufficient for a maximum of just 27 people, stating that the crew could not guarantee the evacuation of people on board.

The Migrant Boats That Made it to Britain: Photos Expose How Kent is at ‘Breaking Point’ As Council Sues Home Office in Bid to Move Smuggled Children to Other Counties — After 1,000 Crossed Channel Last Week

Photos show the migrant boats that are being used to smuggle children across the Channel into the UK as Kent County Council reveals it is at ‘breaking point’ and threatens to sue the Home Office.

The Tory local council could launch a judicial review as early as this week to try to force Home Secretary Priti Patel to disperse the youngsters across the country after they arrive.

Kent is bearing the brunt of the majority of migrant arrivals in the UK from mainland Europe and has a statutory duty to house them. But it argues that its social services have been stretched to the point where it can no longer do this safely, with some children being sent to stay in London.
