Chicago Faces $1.2 Billion Budget Shortfall in 2021: Lightfoot

Saying Chicago faces “a crisis unlike anything we have experienced in our lifetimes,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot painted a grave financial picture for the city on Monday, detailing a projected $1.2 billion budget shortfall in the 2021 fiscal year.

On top of that colossal shortfall, the city’s financial picture worsened significantly during the past three months because of an “economic catastrophe caused by the coronavirus pandemic,” Lightfoot said. The city’s budget for the current fiscal year is now $799 million in the red, she said.

Coca-Cola to Cut Thousands of Jobs, Reports 28% Slump in Sales

Coca-Cola Co on Friday joined a list of big U.S. companies laying off thousands of workers in response to the coronavirus crisis, offering voluntary deals across its businesses and promising to halve its number of operating units.

The company was offering voluntary redundancy to 4,000 workers in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico and would offer similar deals in other markets, it said in a statement, while also signaling other layoffs were likely to follow.

“The voluntary program is expected to reduce the number of involuntary separations,” the world’s largest beverage maker said, adding that the global severance programs would incur expenses of about 0 million to 0 million.

The company, battling a hit to sales from closures of bars, restaurants and cinemas where it normally sells heavily, said it would have nine operating units that would sit under four geographical segments, along with global ventures and bottling investments divisions.

Its current model includes 17 business units.

The plan to cut jobs come at a time when the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits hovered around 1 million last week, with the government confirming that the economy suffered its sharpest contraction in at least 73 years in the second quarter…

“They Hunted Him Down”: Friend of Murdered Trump Supporter Speaks Out

A friend of Jay Bishop who was stood next to Bishop when he was executed in cold blood has spoken out, saying the pair were deliberately “hunted down” by leftists.

Bishop was shot dead on Saturday night in Portland. Video footage of the incident shows someone shouting “We’ve got a Trumper right here,” before another person responds “Right here?” before firing two shots.

Leftists in Portland later celebrated the brutal murder by dehumanizing Bishop, who was a member of the conservative Patriot Prayer group as a “Nazi”.

A friend of Bishop’s who was with him when he was shot told an interviewer, “They executed my partner.”

A Staggering 50 People Shot, Including 2 Police, In Another Blood-Soaked Chicago Weekend

Yet another consecutive weekend of deadly gun violence has rocked Chicago, as President Trump continues to go after Democrat-run cities with his restore law-and-order emphasis.

The numbers of dead and wounded in Chicago this weekend are staggering, but yet again there’s barely a blip in major network coverage, which have opted instead to cover mayhem of a different sort related to ongoing Black Lives Matter protests and “race politics”. CBS Channel 2 Chicago reports:

At least 50 people had been shot, and 10 of them had been killed, so far this weekend in Chicago as of Sunday evening.

Among those wounded in shootings this weekend were two police officers, along a suspect whom a third officer shot, in Homan Square. Meanwhile, one man was killed and four others were injured in a mass shooting Sunday at a pancake house dining tent in Morgan Park.

Barbarians at the Gates — Is Our Great Republic in Danger of Falling? (Videos)

What Americans seem to have lost is hope, and I think that is intentional. The media on every channel beats the public down with talk of sickness, possible school closures, the economy, riots, violence, and politics. There never seems to be any good news, and all the while, everyone is told to stay home whenever possible while protesters are told that their actions are patriotic and, in some cases, necessary to get their point out. Good people are living in fear while the cities are in free fall. So of course, they feel helpless and are at the mercy of their elected officials. Speaking out is not only not good, but it’s going against the grain. Americans are told to not question what’s happening, just shut up, put on your mask, and do as your told.

Man Shot in Wilmington Late Sunday Adds to City’s Gun Violence, Now Worse Than All 2019

A 23-year-old man shot Sunday night in Wilmington adds to the city’s rising gun violence toll, which this weekend surpassed the total amount of people shot all of last year in Delaware’s largest city.

This shooting leaves the city with 117 gunshot victims so far this year. Last year at this time, 74 people had been shot in Wilmington and the year ended with a total of 114 people being shot — 25 of them fatally.

The number of people shot so far this year is on track to make this the second most violent year for shootings in Wilmington since 2017, which holds the record in modern times. That year saw 197 people shot, 32 of them fatally.

Moderna Neglected to Disclose Pentagon’s Financial Support in Applications for More Than 100 Patents

Despite receiving nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money via “Operation Warp Speed”, the drugmaker is planning to charge as much as $37 for a single dose, or up to $60 for two courses, of its experimental mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. That’s far and away the highest price point disclosed yet.

And while we wait for more detailed data from the vaccine’s Phase 3 clinical trials, patent advocacy group KEI is taking Moderna and its executives to task for neglecting to disclose government funding received by the company during its early stages, before the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite receiving $25 million from the Department of Defense’s “Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency” — or “Darpa” — Moderna has never disclosed this, or any other, government funding in its applications for 126 patents and 154 patent applications. KEI has lodged a request with the DoD and Darpa to remedy this in patents.

As KEI points out, Moderna’s “failure” to disclose its government funding could have serious consequences for Americans hoping to get their hands on an affordable vaccine. The disclosures could affect everything from the US government’s worldwide royalty free license, to the public’s march-in rights, to obligations to make inventions available to the public on reasonable terms.

Much Worse is Coming

As bad as things are already, much worse is coming.

And it appears that multitudes of Americans share my assessment, because gun sales are absolutely soaring…

Gun sales were up 72% compared to this time last year, with first-time buyers leading the pack. Americans are likely sensing that something is horribly wrong with the rigged system we are forced to live under.

According to a report by the Washington Post, the National Sports Shooting Foundation says that first-time gun buyers played a heavy role in the increase.

As our society continues to unravel, safety and security have become top priorities for so many people. Earlier today, I posted an article about the unprecedented mass exodus out of our major cities that we are witnessing right now. A few months ago, the pandemic was the main reason why so many people were suddenly moving, but now the violence on the streets has become the primary factor.

And as I recently explained during an interview with Greg Hunter, we are moving into a time when things are going to get even more chaotic.

New Jersey is Becoming the Most Hated State as Households Flee in Record Numbers

A new tax on millionaires, a 22.5% gas tax hike (bringing the total increase to 250% in 4 years), and now a tax on high frequency trades: it is becoming obvious to most — except perhaps the state’s democratic leadership — that New Jersey is now actively trying to drive out its tax-paying population and top businesses with a series of draconian measures to balance its deeply underwater budget, instead of slashing spending. The state-imposed limitations on commerce, mobility and socialization due to the covid pandemic have also not helped. And in case it is still unclear, the trend of New Jersey’s ultra wealthy residents fleeing for more hospitable tax domiciles which started with David Tepper years ago, is now spreading to members of the middle class.

According to the latest data from United Van Lines and compiled by Bloomberg, people have been flooding into Vermont, Idaho, Oregon and South Carolina, eager to flee such financially-challenged, high-tax, protest-swept, Democrat-controlled states as Connecticut, Illinois and New York. But no other state has seen a greater exodus than New Jersey, where out of every 10 moves, 7 have been households leaving the state, or nearly three times as many moved out than moved in.

NPR is Openly Promoting a Book That Celebrates and Encourages Looting

In Defense of Looting: A Riotous History of Uncivil Action is a book by Philadelphia-based Vicky Osterweil that currently sits atop of the Amazon new release charts. The book encourages and makes excuses for property destruction and riots that are currently taking place across the country.

And for that, it was featured and promoted in an NPR article out last week called “One Author’s Argument ‘In Defense Of Looting’“.

But as the Post Millennial puts it: “This book promoting riots is a number one new release on Amazon, a mega-corporation that benefits every time a local shop gets torched.”

The book celebrates rioting and looting at a time in the United States where many business owners have seen their life’s work go up in flames and innocent civilians have been assaulted or mortally wounded defending their property.

NYC Passes Grim Gun-Violence Milestone as Shootings Top 1,000 for the Year

In the video, a gang of “peaceful” protesters could be seen pursuing and attacking the man, who was found to be carrying a legal concealed carry permit.

But after reviewing several videos of the incident, investigators with the Tallahasse Police Department ruled that the suspect was carrying a concealed carry permit and that brandishing the weapon was justified given the fact that he was being “attacked”.

Washburn Law School Removes Statues of Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson

Statues of Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin have been removed from the Washburn University campus after protests against racial injustice elsewhere led to statues honoring slaveholders being vandalized, pulled down or moved, the school said Thursday.

The two bronze statues that had stood outside the university’s law school in Topeka for two decades were removed in July after Washburn President Jerry Farley discussed the concerns with the family of the donor, who has since died, school spokesman Patrick Early said…

Some Washburn students have questioned the propriety of the statutes but the decision to remove them from campus was not in response to a protest or request from students, Early said. “It was the donor’s decision to have the statues returned,” he said. “They didn’t want the statues to become a source of embarrassment so they asked that they be returned.”

40 Years Ago, Poland’s Famed Solidarity Trade Union Was Born

“Solidarity must become a project for all of Europe — it is our proposal for the upcoming decade of development,” Morawiecki wrote in an article which appeared in new outlets such as Italy’s La Repubblica, France’s L’Opinion, Spain’s ABC, Sweden’s Goeteborgs-Posten, and Czechia’s Lidovych Novinach.

Other participants in the “We tell the world about Poland” project included professor Wojciech Roszkowski, who wrote for L’Opinion that between August 1980 and December 1981, when “Solidarity” was born, processes which decided the fate of Poland and the world were initiated.

How Germany’s Lockdowns Have Fostered Resentment & Violence Among the Nation’s Youth

The violence against the police is an outbreak of anger against the state, a state that has continuously interfered with their personal liberty and property. A group of mayors from the green party, the Social Democrats, and the Christian conservatives in an open letter appealed to the government to support a policy in which all young people in Germany would be forced to work for one year in what they called “basic social service” (gesellschaftlicher Grunddienst), similar to the mandatory “social year” we had before. Some media commentators enthusiastically embraced this idea. This is the wrong way forward. One really wonders about the sensibility of these politicians, who write in the same letter:

Young people do not learn respect, acceptance, tolerance on Wikipedia, Facebook, and Instagram, but in the interaction with others. At the place of apprenticeship. In the [sports] club. During everyday life. Here one practices the discourse and contact with others….These social training places are becoming less and less.

The way forward is not in complaining about such social places becoming less, because that is not the problem. The way forward is to stop threatening further restrictions, to stop advocating “a new normal” without social interaction, and to stop harassing young people for every decision they want to make for themselves. The federal police already implicitly recognizes drug offenses as victimless crimes (it collects statistics only on offenders, not victims, in contrast to their data for violent crimes). They should stop treating them as crimes outright. After all, 60 percent of the drug offenses are related to cannabis alone. Leave the young people alone. Let them make friends. Let them learn. End the government intrusion in their lives.

The United Arabic Emirates: A Role Model for the Whole Region

by Thomas O. Falk

The United Arab Emirates have changed their region with a course of determined modernization and are becoming a prime example of a better, more peaceful Middle East.

The UAE: an Oasis of Calm in a Troubled Region

In an Arab world torn by war and conflict, the United Arab Emirates is one of the few bright spots. The federation, which was only founded in 1971, is built on a promise of prosperity, good governance, and more social freedoms — if not political freedoms — than in most other Arab states.

Simply put, the United Arab Emirates promises a future. The old Arab states, on the other hand, live from the nostalgia of past greatness. The UAE is now rightfully considered the most influential Arab state by many analysts.

Fresh Tensions Erupt Along Sino-Indian Border Causing Financial Tremors

Fresh clashes between Indian and Chinese troops were reported along the heavily contested Himalayan border this past weekend.

India’s Defense Ministry accused Chinese troops of “provocative military movements” late on Saturday night. Here’s the Indian Army’s full statement of their account of what happened:

“On the Night of 29/30 August 2020, PLA troops violated the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements during the ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh and carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo.

“Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity on the Southern Bank of Pangong Tso Lake, undertook measures to strengthen our positions and thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on the ground. The Indian Army is committed to maintaining peace and tranquility through dialogue but is also equally determined to protect its territorial integrity. A Brigade Commander level Flag Meeting is in progress at Chushul to resolve the issues.”

If TikTok Has No Ties to China, Why Does it Need China’s Approval on the Sale?

The possible sale of China’s TikTok viral video app to a US company has just gotten more complicated, reports suggest.

What makes TikTok so appealing and successful is the brand of artificial intelligence (AI) technology that its parent company, Chinese unicorn ByteDance, is implementing to predict users’ interests and behavior while in the app — but now that technology has been added to a list of items that need government approval to be exported from China.

This is now interpreted to mean that Walmart, Microsoft and Oracle, who are hoping to acquire TikTok’s operation, and others attempting to do the same internationally (except in China) will have to wait for Beijing’s approval to ByteDance to go ahead and sell.

Time might be of the essence here, since TikTok is under pressure from the Trump administration to either sell to a US company or be banned in that market, amid suspicions that the way the app collects user data, and the ties ByteDance has with China’s authorities, make it a national security risk.

Italy: Sicily Governor, Lampedusa Mayor to See Conte

Musumeci, Martello to confer with PM amid migrant-COVID row

(ANSA) — ROME, AUG 31 — Sicily Governor Nello Musumeci and Lampedusa Mayor Toto’ Martello will be received by Premier Giuseppe Conte in Rome on Wednesday, sources said Monday amid a migrant row.

Musumeci’s recent closure ordinance for the island’s migrant centres amid alleged COVID fears was suspended after a legal appeal by the government.

Martello, for his part, on Monday threatened a general strike on the Sicilian island due to the migrant emergency which has crammed its migrant centre past bursting point.

Lampedusa residents have protested migrant landings.

Martello met with local business owners to decide on the strike Monday.

Also present at the meeting was former League Senator Angela Maraventano.

But the strike was called off pending the talks with Conte.

There are now just over 1,000 migrants at the island’s hotspot and its ‘Fraternity House’ after some 200 were transferred to Sicily.

On Sunday a boat with 21 migrants aboard caught fire off Crotone in Calabria while migrants were being trans-shipped, and at least three died.

British street artist Banksy’s rescue ship got into difficulty and had to be helped by an Italian coastguard vessel.

The Totalitarian Future Globalists Want for the Entire World is Being Revealed

Make no mistake, there is a very OPEN and easily identifiable agenda on the part of globalists to establish a heavily centralized police state system in every country they are able. This is not “conspiracy theory”, this is a conspiracy fact.

For many years now there have been numerous analysts, economists, and geopolitical experts in the alternative media that have predicted and warned the public about the globalist strategy of “order out of chaos”. In other words, the ultra-wealthy power brokers that hold influence over most governments on Earth seek to “reshape” the existing social order through the creation of crisis and disaster. By engineering public desperation, they hope to lure us into accepting restrictions on our freedoms that we would have never considered otherwise.

The goal of a single global economy and government has been spoken of by elites time and time again, yet it is still to this day called “conspiracy theory” or “paranoid delusion”. I could quote these elites and their organizations all day long, but I’ll cite a few choice statements to make my point.

As former Deputy Secretary of State under Clinton and Council on Foreign Relations member Strobe Talbot wrote in an article for Time Magazine in 1992 titled ‘America Abroad: The Birth Of The Global Nation’:

“In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn’t such a great idea after all.”

As elitist and Fabian Socialist HG Wells outlines in his non-fiction treatise titled ‘The New World Order’:

“…When the struggle seems to be drifting definitely towards a world social democracy, there may still be very great delays and disappointments before it becomes an efficient and beneficent world system. Countless people … will hate the new world order … and will die protesting against it. When we attempt to evaluate its promise, we have to bear in mind the distress of a generation or so of malcontents, many of them quite gallant and graceful-looking people.”

And how about one of my favorite revealing quotes from Trilateral Commission member Richard N. Gardner, former deputy assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations under Kennedy and Johnson? He wrote in the April 1974 issue of the Council on Foreign Relation’s (CFR) journal Foreign Affairs (pg. 558) in an article titled ‘The Hard Road To World Order’:

“In short, the ‘house of world order’ will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down. It will look like a great ‘booming, buzzing confusion,’ to use William James’ famous description of reality, but an end-run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault.”

Members of globalist foundations and think-tanks like the CFR have inhabited nearly every US government office and presidential cabinet for the past several decades. This includes the two dozen or so CFR members in Donald Trump’s cabinet. Draining the swamp? Not going to happen.

As Harpers Magazine candidly revealed in a 1958 expose titled ‘School For Statesmen’:

“The most powerful clique in these (CFR) groups have one objective in common, they want to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty and the national independence of the U.S. They want to end national boundaries and racial and ethnic loyalties supposedly to increase business and ensure world peace. What they strive for would inevitably lead to dictatorship and loss of freedoms by the people. The CFR was founded for “the purpose of promoting disarmament and submergence of U.S. sovereignty and national independence into an all-powerful one-world government.”

The easiest method for the globalists to get what they openly say they want is to either conjure a crisis or exploit an existing crisis in order to “erode sovereignty”. The current pandemic fits this plan perfectly, but before sovereignty can be eliminated on a national level they need to undermine sovereignty on an individual level first.

World Council of Churches: Lockdowns Worse for Children Than Coronavirus Itself
