Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Numbers Higher Than 2019 Due to Coronavirus

Art Van Furniture, Bar Louie and True Religion all sell different products, but they all have one thing in common: Each has gone bankrupt this year, as the coronavirus-induced recession that started in February flattens businesses large and small.

Recent data show 722 companies sought bankruptcy protection around the U.S. last month, a 48% increase from the year-ago period. Chapter 11 filings also jumped in April and March, as states started imposing business restrictions amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Coronavirus Lockdowns Have Decimated Small Businesses, But Big Tech is Booming

The havoc that multi-month lockdowns have wreaked on economies around the world is only starting to become apparent and will take a long time to be fully understood, but not everyone is emerging as a loser from this unprecedented crisis.

There’s been a massive transfer of wealth from small businesses to massive conglomerates during the lockdowns. Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, and Microsoft all reporting record-high values of their stock (except Google, whose stock reached 5 percent below record high.)

Donald’s Economy: Where it is Now and Where it is Heading

It didn’t take long for the President to figure out what was going on and the day Trump said “hydroxychloroquine” and Dr. Fauci said “Oh, no… untrustworthy drug” and the rest of the medical community disagreed with Fauci, that story began its downhill slide. Then we found out about the patents Fauci owned involving HIV (which is part of coronavirus) and the old rule about “follow the money” was proved true once again…

This is Why We Are Facing a 6 Week Countdown to Immense Economic Despair…

Many of the emergency economic measures that were put into place to support the American people financially throughout this pandemic are about to disappear, and that means that big trouble is on the horizon. Right now, we are in the midst of the deepest economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Economic activity has fallen dramatically, more than 100,000 businesses have permanently closed, and more than 44 million Americans have lost a job so far in 2020. But up to this point most Americans are not feeling too much economic pain thanks to unprecedented intervention by the federal government. Unfortunately, that short-term boost of artificial relief is about to wear off, and that is going to cause some major problems as we approach the end of this calendar year.

“Slave Owner”: Thomas Jefferson Statue Torn Down, Defaced at Portland High School

A statue of Thomas Jefferson — the third US president, author of Declaration of Independence, who thought banks “are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies,” and whose portrait graced the doors of Bear Stearns during its historic implosion — was torn down Sunday night at a Portland, Oregon high school by a group of mostly white kids using ropes.

18 Atlanta Cops Quit, LAPD Can’t Pay $40 Million Overtime as Police Morale Hits “Rock Bottom”

As protests against police brutality continue to rage across major US cities, cops across the country have reached their breaking point.

On Monday, the Atlanta Police Foundation some 19 Atlanta police officers have resigned amid the growing civil unrest. And according to Foundation CEO Dave Wilkinson, “Morale is at an all-time low.”

“We are now going into the third consecutive week of unabated protests in which officers have worked 12-hour shifts seven days per week. As you can imagine, their stress levels are exacerbated by physical and emotional exhaustion,” Wilkinson told CBS46.

Before They Tear Down America’s Founders’ Statues

It seems our society has gone toppling tipsy in wanting to tear down every statue that causes anyone offense. From a Texas Ranger in a Dallas airport to Christopher Columbus in multiple cities, dethroning statues is en vogue. Eyes are in fact fixated on toppling 1,700 across the U.S.

If House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has her way, 11 statues of soldiers and statesmen of the Confederacy will face their last stand in the halls of the U.S. Capitol.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see where this is going: America’s founders’statues are next. Before they are toppled, I want to educate Americans on the real truths of those who secured our freedoms in the founding of our republic, which are not taught in the public classrooms of liberal academia.

First, if you didn’t read my last column, I want to encourage you to do so as I gave a solution to America’s divisions that is far more powerful than protests or even law and order, because it works from inside of us. It’s about reappraising the value of all human beings and returning to the reasons America’s founders established our republic.

I need to reiterate one thing I said in my last column in order to launch into what I need to say here: The value of human life has not always fluctuated from person to person like it does today. Most early Americans believed humans were the highest creation of God.

Bill Gates’ Hand in COVID-19, Part 6

Our culture needs to be protected with everything we have. If we don’t protect it, we will never see this America again. “The side effect of treason is lead poisoning or rope burn, but not usually both,” joked one Big League Politics commenter in reference to Bill Gates. Fifty-Four Scientists Have Lost Their Jobs as a Result of NIH Probe Into Foreign Ties

Some 54 scientists have resigned or been fired as a result of an ongoing investigation by the National Institutes of Health into the failure of NIH grantees to disclose financial ties to foreign governments. In 93% of those cases, the hidden funding came from a Chinese institution.

The new numbers come from Michael Lauer, NIH’s head of extramural research. Lauer had previously provided some information on the scope of NIH’s investigation, which had targeted 189 scientists at 87 institutions. But his presentation today to a senior advisory panel offered by far the most detailed breakout of an effort NIH launched in August 2018 that has roiled the U.S. biomedical community, and resulted in criminal charges against some prominent researchers, including Charles Lieber, chair of Harvard University’s department of chemistry and chemical biology.

MLB Commissioner Says 2020 Baseball Season Will Likely be Canceled Amid Labor Dispute

Talk about a bitter irony. During an ESPN program entitled “the Return of Sports”, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced on Monday evening that the league is on the verge of scrapping the 2020 MLB season, a 180-degree reversal from his promise made last Wednesday that a season would “100%” happen, even if players had to perform in empty stadiums to TV-only audiences.

WSJ explains that an increasingly fraught labor dispute between the league, the owners and the player’s union has jeopardized an abbreviated 50-game season that had been set to start as soon as July 4th Weekend, getting a jump on other American sports. That jump could have maybe helped baseball recapture the interest of fans who have started to abandon the sport. Instead, the problem of how owners can profitably run a business without a critical pillar of revenue — ie ticket sales and sales of food, beverages and merchandise from live game attendfance — has reared its ugly head.

Mon. 10:06 A.M.: Supreme Court Rejects Several Gun Rights Cases for Next Term

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court this morning passed up several challenges to federal and state gun control laws, over the dissent of two conservative justices.

Gun rights advocates had hoped the court would expand the constitutional right to “keep and bear arms” beyond the home.

Instead, the justices left in place restrictions on the right to carry weapons in public in Maryland, Massachusetts and New Jersey. They also declined to review Massachusetts’ ban on some semi-automatic firearms and large-capacity ammunition magazines, a California handgun control law and a half-century-old federal law banning interstate handgun sales.

Justice Clarence Thomas, joined by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, wrote a dissent in the court’s denial of a New Jersey resident’s appeal seeking the right to carry a gun in public for self-defense. Rather than take on the constitutional issue, Thomas wrote, “the Court simply looks the other way.”

New Bill Could Get Big Tech to Support Free Speech and Privacy or Lose Liability Protections

Senator Josh Hawley is reportedly working on a new bill that, if passed, could see social media companies losing their Section 230 liability protections if they 1) fail to support freedom of speech and 2) use data profiling of users to display targeted ads.

Social media sites use online activity and browsing history to display targeted ads and they’re a significant source of revenue for tech giants such as Facebook and Google.

That’s the price users pay for using the services for free.

The bill is likely to be the same one that we mentioned last week, but these added details about personalized ads is a new detail.

Peter Amico was let go from his job at New Jersey’s Rowan University on June 8 where he had served for ten years as director of the university’s emergency management office.

The reason? According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, twenty-six years ago as a police officer for the Glassboro Police Department, Amico shot and killed a (black) teenager who, according to the official report, had attacked him with a knife.

Black Lives Matter Invades Small Alberta Town, Can’t Explain Why — But Locals Push Back

On Saturday, hoards of Antifa and Black Lives Matter radicals descended on the small town of Innisfail to “re-educate” them out of their supposed racist ways.

Earlier this week, I spoke with minorities in town, and not one allegation of racism (much less racialized police brutality) could be found. By all accounts, the town is delightful and welcoming.

That isn’t going to cut it for BLM: They want to intimidate small town Alberta. It has nothing to do with racism — that is just their excuse, it has to do with their demographics. BLM and Antifa hate Innisfailers not because the town is racist, but because they are largely white. In Canada — that is not allowed. Diversity must be enforced. Militantly.

EU Threatens to Blackmail Illiberal Countries’ Budgets

Manfred Weber, the Leader of the European People’s Party (EPP), discussed the European Union’s plan to blackmail member states that don’t toe the bloc’s line on issues like migration, such as Hungary and Poland. This will be done by making their share of the EU’s budget contingent on how well they meet the bloc’s vague “rule of law” standards, Weber says, especially now that many countries have been hit hard by the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.

Weber, who leads the European Parliament’s largest party, made the remarks in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung last week.

Greece to lift travel restrictions on Italians by end of June

(ANSA) — Rome, June 9 — Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio on a visit to Athens Tuesday called for common EU rules on tourist flows.

“We need uniform rules and criteria for mobility”, he said at a press conference with Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias.

These were required, he said, so as “not to break up the tourism market”.

Dendias said he had been satisfied with Di Maio’s update on Italy’s good COVID epidemic stats and that Greece would gradually lift all restrictions on Italian tourists starting on Monday and ending at the end of June.

Italy: M5S Denies Venezuela Funding Report

Venezuelan embassy rejects story in Spain’s ABC too

(ANSA) — Rome, June 15 — The 5-Star Movement (M5S) on Monday denied a report in Spanish daily ABC that it took funding from Venezuela in 2010.

Sources at the Venezuelan embassy in Rome also dismissed the report as “false and absurd” adding that the Venezuelan authorities would take legal action.

The sources said that the movement was “totally unknown in Venezuela” in 2010.

The M5S was founded in 2009.

According to the report, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who at the time was foreign minister under Hugo Chávez, sent 3.5 million euros to the late Gianroberto Casaleggio, who co-founded the M5S with comedian-cum-politician Beppe Grillo, via the country’s consulate in Milan. The embassy sources said that was implausible because, at the time, the Venezuelan Consul to Milan had only just taken up the post.

M5S political leader Vito Crimi said the story was “ridiculous fake news” adding that “we’ll consider taking legal action”.

Casaleggio’s son Davide said “I will not allow the name of my father to be covered in mud.

“He founded the M5S in a transparent way and never had public funding”. The M5S Senators said the report was a “dirty political operation”.

The report is set to cause further tension for the M5S after a clash at the weekend between Grillo, who has now taken a backseat, and M5S bigwig Alessandro Di Battista.

The M5S has performed badly in local and regional elections since winning over 32% of the vote in the 2018 general election after which it supported two coalition governments led by Premier Giuseppe Conte — the first an alliance with the rightwing Northern League and since last year the current coalition featuring the centre left Democratic Party (PD) and other smaller groups. The M5S’s support has shrunk to well below 20%, according to opinion polls, and, in the light of this, on Sunday Di Battista proposed that the movement should hold a “constituent assembly”.

Grillo dismissed that idea, saying it came from people with a sense of timing like a character from the film Groundhog Day.

The row has led to speculation that the M5S could split.

VoE Needs Your Support Now More Than Ever!

Europe is currently undergoing a time of unprecedented change. The very existence of Europe as it has been known for thousands of years is now in doubt. We at Voice of Europe work seven days a week, 365 days a year to bring you the news stories that mainstream outlets overlook or downplay so that you can get a clearer picture of what’s really happening in Europe today.

There are very powerful forces that don’t want these stories to get out, however. They want to control the narrative to suit their own ends. Voice of Europe has been experiencing this first-hand. Since the most recent “protest” violence in Europe’s cities broke out, we’ve seen traffic to our site suddenly drop dramatically. Our only explanation for this is that we have been shadowbanned by social media sites, meaning that our posts are being deemphasized so that they don’t appear as often in users’ feeds.

Sex Organs Reveal New Jumping Spider Species in the Philippines

MANILA — It took a closer look at the male jumping spiders’ reproductive organ — the shape of it, to be precise — for two Filipino scientists to declare three new species in the Philippines.

The father-and-daughter team of Alberto Barrion, an entomologist, and Aimee Lynn Barrion-Dupo, an arachnologist, described the three new species from the main island of Luzon and published their findings in the Philippine Journal of Systematic Biology.

The new species belong to the genus Lepidemathis; before the publication of their paper, there were only four known species from the genus, all of them found only in the Philippines. Though these spiders are common in agricultural and natural ecosystems, only a few people study them, researchers say.

Vigilante ‘Posse’ Battles to Evict Group of Migrants They Say Responsible for Robberies and Attacks on the Elderly in Barcelona Spain

A group of neighbours in Spain got together to physically and verbally confront a flat of young migrants in hopes of expelling them from the apartment and out of town. THIS incident quickly became tense when more than a dozen neighbours in Premia de Mar, Barcelona, went to a flat full of young migrants and physically tried to get them out.

The Mossos d’Esquadra were alerted of a fight in the Avenida Luis Companys which involved stone-throwing and tried to intervene.

The Mossos confirmed that the group of neighbours had managed to enter the flat and cause significant damage, however, the police presence did little to intimidate the neighbours who were rallied up.

All this commotion led to various clashes between the group of assailants and the police, as five officers were left injured.

This chaotic confrontation calmed down at around 1.30am.

The Mossos helped move the three young occupants from the assaulted flat to another location, although no arrests were made, the police have opened an investigation in order to identify the attackers.

According to local sources, this group of neighbours considered themselves to be a sort of vigilante watch group in the area. Their intention was to hold the migrants accountable for the increase of robberies and assaults on the elderly in the area.

Alito: Court’s ‘Preposterous’ Trans Ruling Threatens Religion, Speech, Privacy, And Safety

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that discrimination on the basis of sex includes discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in the case of Bostock v. Clayton County (2020). In a powerful dissent joined by Justice Clarence Thomas, Justice Samuel Alito condemned the ruling as “preposterous” and betraying “breathtaking” arrogance. He noted that Congress has tried and repeatedly failed to amend Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in just this fashion and that no one interpreted the law this way until 2017. In this decision, as in Roe v. Wade (1973) and Obergefell v. Hodges (2015), the Supreme Court usurped the power of Congress by creating “legislation.”

Perhaps most importantly, however, Alito warns that the decision will have wide-ranging destructive impacts on key freedoms Americans hold dear, and he predicts that “the entire Federal Judiciary will be mired for years in disputes about the reach of the Court’s reasoning.”

  1. “Military General Proposes Erecting Bridge Between Sicily and Tunisia”
“Leaked Document Reveals Secret Turkish Plan to Invade Greece”

A former Maoist friend predicts that the dominant force in Europe this century will be… Turkey. He may be wrong but to be fair, on the present demographic trajectory, the Muslim Brotherhood will have its stranglehold before the century is out.

    • Not that it’s likely to be built, but a bridge would be easier to defend than the open sea.

    • This goes to show that maoist ideology can destroy gray matter if ever there was. Turkey in Europe? Gimme a break.Turks can only rule by brute force and this is not working out with nowaday Europeans, particularly not those having experience with osmanic rule. Turks are bigmouthed good- for- nothings, they drive taxis an buses, but can hardly run complex systems. look whom they voted for president.

  2. VoE has no news on youtube since more than a year and have only 6.11k followers . Why are they moaning in the article if they offer no news anymore.

  3. The $56,000 CDN paid out by the RCMP for private security for Harry and Meghan does NOT include the regular RCMP salaries. This amount is for the extra costs, over and above salaries, if I’m reading the report correctly. The true total would likely be in the hundreds of thousands.

Justin Trudeau’s government is on record telling a wounded Canadian soldier, an Afghan military veteran, who questioned him about improving payments to Canada’s vets, that that wasn’t going to happen because “they are asking for more than we can give.” But the government paid the RCMP to protect these pampered Royals at their secluded Vancouver Island seaside mansion—no problem being able to find funds for this, apparently.

    • Don’t worry, they also had money for Omar Khadr.

Let’s not kid ourselves. The Trudeau gov’t works for the other side. They only do the strict minimum to keep their most rabid “normal” supporters from realizing how bad they are.

A similar outfit is the United Church of Canada. It’s basically an outlet of wokeness / Communist Party, losing membership due to revulsion and old age, pretty much. They still pretend to run a church, presumably as a way not to get cut out of the wills of these people, but it’s very much a gong show to advance their real atheist and immoral purposes. But make no mistake, it’s no longer a church. I can tell, I’m not even Christian!

      • The Canadian government wasn’t required to pay Khadr nor for the Royals’ security. They were both choices, whereas money to help our military vets just isn’t seen as important. One’s priorities are revealing.

As for the United Church of Canada, yes, it’s changed drastically over the years. Please don’t get me started . . .

      • I know about the United Church of Canada. A pastor named Ken Arnett exposed the church for murdering First Nations Children at an orphanage. The Catholic church was also guilty. A nun in THEIR orphanage kicked an innocent First Nations child down the stairs and threw him out the window of a second floor building. Of course, that child died of a broken neck. The two churches destroyed Arnetts marriage and threatened his life and covered up the crime and First Nations are still suffering because a mass grave was dug and bodies of innocent children were tossed in like garbage.

      • Some United Churches are offering sex-ed in Sunday school. Of course, one of the first lessons explains all the many different genders and couplings. Why do they do this?

  4. This new religion should work out well for the FUSA. The magic soil will preserve first world status with a third world population and the plandemic fraud has made people oblivious to smoking fiat printing presses churning out the Weimar Wheelbarrow goodness.
