Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/5/2020

New York may have reached the peak of the Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak, with a reduction in the daily count of new infections. Meanwhile, illegal migrants in Spain returned illegally to Morocco by rubber dinghy in order to escape the coronavirus. Also, Russia is rushing aid to Serbia to help with the disease, to offset a lack of EU assistance.

In other news, one person was shot dead and nine others were wounded during a ten-hour period in Chicago, which enjoys one of the most stringent gun-control regimes in the nation.

How Gullible Politicians Promoted Global Economic Destruction and Threw US Into the Abyss of Serfdom

Authored by Antony Mueller via Medium.com,

Anyone with some basic knowledge in mathematical modeling who had taken a look at the structure of the “Imperial College”-model would have noted the faults of this approach and its exaggerations. The model’s prognosis that the United Kingdom would have to count with more than half a million deaths and a complete overload of its health system reversed the British government’s earlier decision to use prudential surveillance and specifically targeted intervention and to shift to the full-control strategy, which required massive intervention into the public and private life of the nation. The leaders of other countries that were somewhat still in doubt jumped on the bandwagon and the march into a tyrannical State was programmed.

It was too late when the authors of the model finally revised their original estimate from 500 thousand to 20 thousand and later on lowered this number even more. The governments had already set into motion their emergency plans.

After declaring the coronavirus a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), agendas that had been prepared years ago were set into motion and the state agencies followed the procedures that were prescribed by the International Health Regulations (IHR) as the international legal instrument that is binding on 196 countries across the globe, including all the Member States of WHO.

Even now, months after the outbreak of the virus, the true size of the threat remains unclear. The quantitative basis is still too small to make a reliable projection.

Italy: Coronavirus: Conte Continues Drive for Euro Bonds

Not asking Dutch to pay for Italian debt, recession will hit all

(ANSA) — Rome, April 1 — The Netherlands needs euro bonds just like Italy does to cushion the economic impact of the coronavirus, Premier Giuseppe Conte told Dutch daily De Telegraaf Wednesday.

Italy and Spain are arguing in favour of so-called ‘coronabonds’ but Germany, Netherlands and Finland have ruled them out saying the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) can be used, an option Italy has rejected.

Conte told De Telegraaf that “Italy is not asking the Dutch citizens to pay for Italian debt. We are not asking for an euro from Dutch taxpayers. Europe must act in a solidarity-based and effective way, because it is unthinkable that some people may benefit from this crisis.

“The European recovery bonds are the best way to respond, also for Dutch citizens. They, too, need guarantees. The recession will hit almost everywhere”.

Conte added that the EU response must come immediately “or else the patient will die”.

“Extraordinary instruments are needed, but they will be useless if they come too late”.

no country should try to exploit the coronavirus crisis to “load past debts onto the shoulders of others,” Conte said in an interview to be published by German daily Die Zeit Thursday.

He said this was not his government’s aim with its proposal for coronabonds. Conte asked for possible instruments to be weighed “without a priori vetoes”. The Italian premier said “we are a union and it is time to demonstrate that”. He called for action that was “commensurate to the challenge of the moment.”

Italy: Coronavirus: +300,000 Unemployed Workers in Spain in March

Highest rate reported in country, government says

(ANSAmed) — ROME, APRIL 2 — Over 300,000 additional unemployed workers were reported in March in Spain as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, the government said Thursday, based on applications for unemployment benefits.

A reported 302,265 have become jobless due to the coronavirus emergency in Spain. According to Spanish media, the country has registered its highest unemployment rate ever — at the moment the highest in the Eurozone after Greece, at 13.8%.

Over the first 12 days of lockdown alone, which started on March 14 in Spain, 2,857 people lost their jobs, according to the available data.

Services paid the highest prince with 206,016 people without a job.

All sectors of the Spanish economy were affected: construction (+59,551 unemployed), industry (+25,194) and agriculture (+6,520).

The Novel Depression: How the US is Going to See Great Depression Unemployment in Record Time

The unemployment report today was widely acknowledged as being incorrect even by the mainstream media when “only” 700,000 jobs were reported lost last month. We already have data that approximately 10 million people have filed for unemployment benefits in the last couple of weeks. This upcoming recession, the Novel Recession, is largely one that is being brought on by a global shutdown to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. Yet the speed in which this recession is coming just goes to show how fragile our economy really was and how many Americans were already living on the financial edge.

COVID-19 Response: New Jersey Urgently Needs Cobol Programmers (Yes, You Read That Correctly)

New Jersey desperately needs COBOL Programmers.

That’s what the State’s Governor, Phil Murphy, apparently meant today, when he said at a press conference that the State needed volunteers who with “Cobalt” computer skills to help fix 40-year-old-plus unemployment insurance systems that are currently overwhelmed as a result of COVID-19-related job losses.

COBOL, for those who are unfamiliar, is a computer language that is over 60 years old, and was once the staple of software development across industry and government.

Did Bill Gates Just Reveal the Real Reason Behind the Lock-Downs?

Then a few seconds later, at 33:45, Gates drops another bomb:

We don’t want to have a lot of recovered people…

To be clear, we’re trying — through the shut-down in the United States — to not get to one percent of the population infected. We’re well below that today, but with exponentiation, you could get past that three million [people or approximately one percent of the U.S. population being infected with COVID-19 and the vast majority recovering]. I believe we will be able to avoid that with having this economic pain.”

It appears that rather than let the population be exposed to the virus and most develop antibodies that give them natural, long-lasting immunity to COVID-19, Gates and his colleagues far prefer to create a vast, hugely expensive, new system of manufacturing and selling billions of test kits, and in parallel very quickly developing and selling billions of antivirals and vaccines.

And then, when the virus comes back again a few months later and most of the population is unexposed and therefore vulnerable, again selling billions of test kits and medical interventions.

Right after that, at 34:14, Gates talked about how he sees things rolling out from there.

The Real Bernie Sanders, Part 4

Bernie Sanders is catching a lot of flack for how his supporters conduct themselves and rightfully so. Why should any political candidate be allowed to whip their supporters into this type of frenzy? There is a certain level of danger at his rallies that never seems to get addressed.

Instead, people look the other way and try to pin the responsibility for the bad behavior on Trump. Bernie attracts a very dangerous subset of people and we wish that people were willing to admit to that. The revolutionary types that pride themselves on being a part of the counterculture are all about Bernie.

He speaks to them in ways that other candidates would never dream of. The aging revolutionaries who were never able to achieve their true goals see themselves in them. You better believe that the Antifa thugs and Occupy Wall Street protesters are also watching his rise closely.

It would be awful if this election cycle were marred by some sort of tragedy. That’s why the Bernie Bros are being watched closely. It all starts by being rude online but from there? Things can only get worse. This story is a prime example of that. Did you hear the news about his former criminal justice adviser?

This adviser was recently arrested and you won’t believe the reason why. He was actually in the process of planning a prison break! This is the person that Bernie actually chose to advise him on criminal justice-related issues. We wish that we were making this up because it sounds like something out of a bad movie.

The Red Chinese Lied, Americans Died, And Americans Prayed

When FDR waged World War II, he could mobilize the entire country. President Trump faces an assortment of enemies, here and abroad. These include China, source of the virus; Russia, which is driving American oil producers out of business through overproduction of cheap oil; a toxic anti-American media culture; and a Democratic Party that wants to undermine Trump through investigations and make him (and the country) fail.

Although opinions differ, the consensus of the various medical experts is that this is a highly contagious disease, with symptoms in severe cases much worse than the flu, lung damage worse than the flu, and a death rate overall that may be much worse than seasonal flu.

President Trump had no alternative but to defer to these authorities. But he has to suspect, based on its contagious and deadly nature, that the virus may have been engineered. China has a bioweapons program that has been documented by such authorities as former Soviet scientist Ken Alibek and analyst Eric Croddy. Nobody with a serious mind assumes it was just a coincidence that the virus came out of a region with a Chinese lab conducting secret research.

Our enemies seem to have us where they want us — our people are dying and the economy is collapsing. China is betting that it will come out on top of the world. Then, the old Sino/Soviet split will be exposed as another great deception. Russia will dominate the oil markets and have Europe under its control.

In the middle of all of this, President Trump is attempting to rally the nation. He is stuck with a medical bureaucracy that relied on China for misinformation about the virus and a media that plays gotcha at daily press briefings. He understands the gravity of the situation but is obviously limited by what he can say publicly about the threat. As I argued in a recent column, the invisible enemy has a name.

To his credit, Trump has broken with the “experts” to facilitate public access to various alternative drugs and treatments. This could be the development that helps America turn the corner in the weeks ahead.

Watchout: COVID-19 Malware Can Wipe Your PC

Some malware authors have developed malware that destroys infected systems, either by wiping files or rewriting a computer’ s master boot record (MBR). With help from the infosec community, ZDNet has identified at least five malware strains, some distributed in the wild, while others appear to have been created only as tests or jokes.

Rather than using the coronavirus as a means for more power (politicians) or financial gain, this malware appears to be simply destructive.

Here’ s what you will want to watch for:

In the first phase, it just shows an annoying window that users can’ t close because the malware has also disabled the Windows Task Manager.

While users attempt to deal with this window, the malware is silently rewriting the computer’ s master boot record behind their back. It then restarts the PC, and the new MBR kicks in, blocking users into a pre-boot screen.

Users can eventually regain access to their computers, but they’ ll need special apps that can be used to recover and rebuild the MBR to a working state.

Why is the Media Exempt From Coronavirus Business Shutdowns?

“You’re actually sitting too close,” President Trump remarked at a press briefing. “Really, we should probably get rid of about 75, 80 percent of you.”

Trump was only partly joking.

The White House Correspondents Association had asked its members to sit one seat apart at press briefings, but at a time when most businesses have been shut down even when they offer far more space to customers and employees, the sight of crowded press briefings is still surreally hypocritical.

“No Hope”: Canada’s Nursing Homes Prepare for Mass Death

Nursing homes in Canada have been instructed by health officials to ‘keep seniors comfortable’ if they contract COVID-19 and not take them to the hospital due to their high mortality rate, according to Canada’s Global News.

“They’re treating it like a hospice, like there’s no hope like they have stage four brain cancer and they just have to keep them comfortable because there’s nothing they can do,” said Tanya Bartley, whose grandmother died last month at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Bobcaygeon, Ontario — where 22 residents have died and 1/3 of the staff are in isolation due to coronavirus.

“They don’t play god. Everybody is the same. I don’t care if it’s a two-year-old, a 10-year-old, a 20-year-old, middle-aged, elderly. I don’t care,” Bartley added.

One dementia-stricken resident, Edna Bowers, was one such coronavirus victim who was treated at the home and not transferred to the hospital.

Italy: Coronavirus: Farmhands ‘Panic’ Near Foggia, Harvest Halted

Most are migrants ‘now staying in their shacks’

FOGGIA — The provincial head of the ARCI association has said that many of the farmworkers in the Foggia area in southern Italy are panicking about the possibly of catching the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

This, ARCI provincial chief Domenico Rizzi said, is creating a great deal of difficulty for the harvest of agricultural products in the area. “Migrants constitute most of the manpower in the Foggia area,” he said, “and even they are afraid of the coronavirus.” He noted that there was a large sense of responsibility about the non-european migrants living in Capitanata, an area of the Apulia region heavy in farming. “The labourers have halted work and are staying in their shacks out of fear of catching COVID-19,” Rizzi said. In addition, he noted, unseasonal freezing temperatures had in recent days ruined a large part of the harvest, such as potatoes and asparagus.

Rizzi said that the migrants were demanding personal protection equipment and that distancing be ensured in the fields during working hours. “Many of the foreigners are getting information to get both the 600-euro government bonus and municipal food vouchers,” he added, “and for the moment there are no known cases of COVID-19 among the migrants.” “To deal with this emergency,” he said, “we are trying to organise work teams and take all the precautions necessary.”

A video, allegedly of the blaze in Aigburth, was shared on YouTube and Facebook, claiming a link between the mobile technology and Covid-19.

Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove said it was “dangerous nonsense”.

Lukashenko: Elites Are Manipulating the Coronavirus Crisis for Their Own Benefit

Belarus’ President, Alexander Lukashenko, expressed a concern that powerful groups are exploiting the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for their own benefit.

In an interview with Russian Mir TV on Friday, Lukashenko said:

I once asked the question: is this pandemic, this coronavirus, a man-made phenomenon? I don’t know the answer yet, but I have my suspicions. Are politicians and others using this situation for their own purposes? You and I both know the answer to that question. You already see how it is used today . . . Doesn’t it seem to you that the powerful forces of the world would like to remake the world, without a “war” (Macron has already called it a war), through this so-called “corona psychosis,” or “info-demic”? Many people are asking, what will happen after the pandemic?

Russia’s Identity After Euromaidan: Goodbye Europe, Hello Asia

by Emanuel Pietrobon

Since 2014, every year on March 18th, Russian people celebrate a new holiday: the Day of Crimea’s Reunification with Russia. It’s six years now since the peninsula was re-incorporated to its old Motherland, and the United States itself has allegedly acknowledged to Ukraine that “Crimea is lost”. The Kremlin has been trying to popularize the annexation as a success but the uncomfortable truth is that Russia won a peninsula and lost a country: nay it lost “the” country — Ukraine — the birthplace of the centuries-old Russian civilization. The impact of such loss will endure over time.

Russia’s European Reach is Lost

Six years after Euromaidan, Crimea is the last European thing left to Russia: Belarus’ position in the Russian world (Russkij Mir) is increasingly challenged by the unprecedented American superpower and by the ruling elite itself, hegemony over Moldova is at risk as well due to the ever-growing influence played by the European Union via Romania, and it is wise not to underestimate Turkey’s engagement in Turkic-inhabited Gagauzia and in other fields. Furthermore, the Orthodox faith is being weaponized by the West to divide et impera across the Slavic world.

Russia’s sole remaining bulwark in the Old Continent is Serbia and so it will be for some years, maybe decades, because the drama of NATO’s past intervention is still an open wound for many Serbs and the country is surrounded by a very hostile neighborhood. But Serbia doesn’t have the same importance of Ukraine: the control over Belgrade is useful to have a say in the Balkans, but the control over Kyiv concerns Moscow’s historic identity.

When Russia lost culpably in Ukraine in 2014, it lost a very important part of itself, the linking point between the Russian world and Europe, which represents a civilization to which Russia statesmen, somehow, have always looked at as a role model. The birthplace of Russian civilization was lost “culpably” because the Kremlin under-evaluated the existing warning signs and seemingly believed that the containment ended with the Soviet collapse: nothing more could go wrong in their view…

Coronavirus: God’s Army and Pork Consumption in Indonesia

Coronavirus, now a global pandemic, received a different response in Indonesia than in most of the world. In February, when China was quarantining Hubei province, prominent Indonesian clerics were reducing the disease to a religious matter. As usual, the assertion was marked by religious claim of superiority and that God could easily be involved in daily life.

Instead of advising congregations in particular and Indonesians in general about the pandemic nature of coronavirus, many religious leaders were linking the virus to something supernatural that could be fought with prayers.

A popular preacher, Ustad Abdul Somad (also known as UAS), a graduate of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University, in a public sermon given in Malaysia, told his congregation that coronavirus was God’s army sent to protect Uighurs in China. On February 17, the statement — under the title “UAS: Coronavirus is God’s Army to Protect Uighur Muslims” — was uploaded to YouTube’s Hajinews TV channel. In his sermon, Somad seems to claim that Allah always helps Islamic people, even if they have been taking losses.

Blame the Chinese Communist Party for the Coronavirus Crisis

As the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the globe, one fact is increasingly clear: The Chinese Communist Party caused this crisis.

From the moment the coronavirus emerged in central China, Beijing has acted in a way that made a pandemic possible and then inevitable. It covered up what was happening in Wuhan. It silenced whistleblowers who sought to warn the world. It stole medical supplies from other countries, even while claiming the sickness was no big deal.

At every stage, the Chinese Communist Party has lied.

China Should be Sued for $6.5 Trillion for Coronavirus Damages Says Top UK Think Tank

China should be sued under international law for trillions of dollars for its initial cover-up of the coronavirus pandemic which has caused more than 60,000 deaths and trillions of dollars in economic damage, a new report says.

The report said damages should be for at least the £3.2 ($6.5 trillion) being spent by G7 nations propping up their domestic economies as governments forced their citizens to stay at home so they could try and contain the disease’s spread.

According to the report, Coronavirus Compensation? by conservative London think tank The Henry Jackson Society, China could be sued under 10 possible legal avenues, including the International Health Regulations, which were beefed up after the SARS outbreak, which China also tried to cover up. The report said had China provided accurate information at an early juncture, “the infection would not have left China.”

Coronavirus: China’s Great Cover-Up

We have been paying dearly for China’s lies.

“This is one of the worst cover-ups in human history, and now the world is facing a global pandemic,” said Rep. Michael T. McCaul, the ranking Republican member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, before the US intelligence community concluded, in a classified report to the White House, that China has concealed the origin and extent of the catastrophic global coronavirus outbreak.

The Chinese Communist Party’s “failure has unleashed a global contagion killing thousands”, wrote Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, president of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences, on April 1. “As we survey the damage done to lives around the world, we must ask who is responsible?”

Did Coronavirus Leak From a Research Lab in Wuhan? Startling New Theory is ‘No Longer Being Discounted’ Amid Claims Staff ‘Got Infected After Being Sprayed With Blood’

British politicians fear that the coronavirus pandemic might have been caused by a leak from a Chinese laboratory, The Mail on Sunday has revealed.

Senior sources in the British government say that while ‘the balance of scientific advice’ is still that the deadly virus was first transmitted to humans from a live animal market in Wuhan, a leak from a laboratory in the Chinese city is ‘no longer being discounted’.

One member of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s emergency committee said last night that while the latest intelligence did not dispute the virus was ‘zoonotic’ — originating in animals — it did not rule out that the virus first spread to humans after leaking from a Wuhan laboratory.

Wuhan is home to the Institute of Virology, the most advanced laboratory of its type on the Chinese mainland.

ABC Trashes Pence’s Christian Faith: Do You “Talk to God” About How Many You Let Die From Coronavirus?

ABC’s Nightline has returned to its old timeslot with a larger audience after late local news (instead of after Jimmy Kimmel Live). So here we had a journalist ask the Vice President if he prays to the Lord with a heart of repentance for having been responsible for dead Americans. Surely, Chuck Todd would be proud of that question.

  1. ““It is true that they were expired,” Caekebeke told Het Nieuwsblad. “I believe the first masks destroyed in 2015 had an expiration date to 2010. The last pieces destroyed in 2018 were good until 2015, but I think the main reason was lack of space.”
Why does a mask have an expiration date? It’s not like it can spoil…

    • The seals plastic get less pliable, and do not close properly. A mask that does not give a positive seal is not as effective, and can sometimes give a false sense of security.

  2. “Meanwhile, illegal migrants in Spain returned illegally to Morocco by rubber dinghy in order to escape the coronavirus.”

    But….diversity is our strength.

    • The are now qualified middlemen. Very much in demand I imagine and doing lots of forward planning and consulting. What will it take?

    • According to the link you provided, the Polish guy was murdered by another Polish guy.

  3. here is a small video about how can be gypsies determined to stay in their own houses. It is a small city in Romania, Tandarei, where there is a small neighborhood with gypsies. Gypsies just returned from Europe and they refuse quarantine… they returned because there is no more to steal…everybody is inside all over Europe…so, no more pockets on the streets…
On many romanian language forums people are talking about burning them all to be sure they don’t spread the virus.

  4. “This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store or pharmacy. Instead doing everything to keep family and friends safe. And we won’t come out of house arrest until there are no new cases of coronavirus”. According to faucibirx. That means there will be a perpetual state of pandemic, lockdown and house arrest even after you run out of food and medication. Nothing about the fact that a regime of Chloroquine, Z-pack, Zinc is seeing up to 100% success rate with ICU patients suffering from the virus. Even though Australia is reporting a similar success rate, in 48 hours, of using Ivermectin, another antiparasitic drug. But what Fauci-Birx aren’t pushing for in their so-called war against COVID-19 is increasing the availability and production of such life saving drugs. Instead the two Bill & Melinda Gates, Big Pharma advocates are waiting for more profitable options while the downplay these two silver bullets. Now I don’t know about the rest of you people out there but I’m giving Fauci-Birx my vote of “no confidence” for making such irresponsible comments. Then again you can’t fix stupid either. Nor can you drain the swamp as has been proven over the last three plus years.

  5. Just back from the grocery where I used my free peanut butter coupon!
The comrades are obeying all orders without question as one true believer informed another sheeple that their mask was slipping.
I thought about a deeper meaning to this statement regarding the ghouls and jackals who view humanity as their Play-Doh ball.
Who made them the arbiters of everything? Some inbred bloodline.
They can eat bat guano and their cruise ships won’t keep them safe.
What if Trump really is a 4-D chessmaster and knew that the comrades would go all in over their control freak petty tyrant fantasies?
Hope isn’t a strategy but you use any means necessary to keep morale up.

  6. From the link “”Danish Parliament Bans “Misinformation” About Coronavirus”

I feel that many other bits & pieces will be tacked on, like “hate speech laws” maybe riding in a Trojan horse of CCP virus control, like Denmark and other countries will follow this example.

The Danish parliament, last week, passed a law which makes it possible to shut down websites and to fine or imprison persons who publish information about the COVID-19 virus that doesn’t line-up with the government’s guidelines. …..
…… coronavirus guidelines put forward by specific authorities are not to be questioned. Those authorities are the National Board of Health, the Serum Institute, the Police, the Ministry of Health, and the Prime Minister. ……

If it is slid through, with devious definitions or twists will be make the loss of free speech certain, as that like a virus can expand exponentially, or it is still pretty bad when it ratchets continuously upwards linearly fashion.

    Further background source,
Probably why it was allowed to go through would be the sunset clause.

…. unanimously passed an emergency coronavirus law which gives health authorities powers to force testing, treatment and quarantine with the backing of the police.

The far-reaching new law will remain in force until March 2021, when it will expire under a ‘sunset clause’.
    https://www.thelocal.dk/20200313/denmark-passes-far-reaching-emergency-coronavirus-law

The oppositions points where it went too far so some clauses were dropped.

How the population takes this, and whether there may be a free ranging inquiry at a later date, how CCP virus was coped with, the price of loss of freedoms so good lessons are learnt, will all be hopefully started in a years time.

Will there be a way where ones can express opinions in the mean time?
Keeping things bottled will make a number of people & groups very frustrated.

More than likely there could be some good ideas that may be helpful, but who has the right to define what or where it is wrong.

People should have the choice how they give credibility to any information, and the prudent person should be the guide.
