9 Ways You Can Save Big on Energy Costs This Winter

Heating your home during the winter can be costly and many don’t have the extra money to pay for the uptick in energy costs. But we’ve come up with a few tips and tricks to help you save your money on energy and use more sustainable ways to heat your home.

Not only can a reduction in the amount of energy you use lower your impact on the Earth, but it lowers the impact on your wallet, freeing up some funds for emergencies or for other uses. In a 2013 survey, 10 percent of renters who participated in a Rent.com poll said that utilities are their biggest monthly expense, coming in third after monthly rent and groceries. And just heating your living spaces accounts for about 48 percent of your home’s total energy bills, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

None of the things listed below will require a big investment, but they should help you notice a little relief when your next energy bill comes.

Anti-Israel Bombshell Drops on FL Democrat Andrew Gillum Only One Week Before Election

In a state with one of the highest Jewish populations in America, the revelation about Andrew Gillum, Florida’s Democrat candidate for governor’s anti-Israel ties couldn’t come at a worse time.

This week, America witnessed the worst mass killing of Jewish Americans in our nation, in the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA.

Breitbart News reports — GOP candidate for Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis is publically calling on his Democrat opponent, Andrew Gillum, to publically disavow the radical Dream Defenders organization.

“He will not disavow them because this is who he is,” stated DeSantis, speaking in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News. “I mean when they are saying he is part of the movement they are not lying. He is one of them.”

Canadian to the Rescue in California

RCMP vet helps put murderous psychopath back where he belongs

On October 24 in Woodland, California, judge Samuel McAdam ordered convicted double murderer Daniel Marsh back to prison to serve his original sentence. Canadian psychopathy expert Matthew Logan helped send him back, but it was a close call and the killer had everything going for him.

Marsh was only 15 in 2013 when he murdered Oliver Northup, 87, and his wife Claudia Maupin in their home in Davis, near Sacramento. A police report said the victims were killed with “exceptional depravity.” After his arrest, Marsh told police that torturing, killing and mutilating the victims was “pure happiness.”

Marsh was tried as an adult and after a grueling 2014 trial, a Yolo County jury found he was sane when he committed the crimes. Marsh was sentenced to 52 years to life, with possibility of parole in his early 40s. Victims’ families believed he might never get out, but the killer caught a break.

The 2016 Proposition 57 barred the direct prosecution of juveniles in adult court. An appeal court applied the law retroactively to the case of Daniel Marsh. His conviction was reversed pending a “transfer hearing” to decide whether he was eligible for adult court. If found more suitable for juvenile court, he would serve only until age 25, another four years and only nine years total for two murders…

The prosecution brought in Dr. Matthew Logan, a veteran of nearly 30 years experience with the RCMP and a noted psychopathy expert. Violent psychopaths, Logan testified, were cunning manipulators who learned to speak “treamentese.”

Logan had not interviewed Marsh, but based on his experience, anybody who scores 35.8 on the psychopathy scale is “unbelievable dangerous for violent recidivism” and “no way should he be out in society.” Logan told the court public safety was always his major concern…

Judge McAdam played it close to the vest but all evidence showed Marsh suitable for adult court, which prosecutors had rightly decided back in 2014. The judge ordered Marsh returned to prison to serve his original sentence. That came as great relief to the victim’s families, but the judge left a warning.

Governor Jerry Brown had signed senate bill 1391, which barred prosecution of juveniles ages 14-18 in adult court, whatever the gravity of their crime.

“It will soon be the law of California,” McAdam’s ruling stated, that even a 15-year-old who commits a brutal double murder of strangers in his neighborhood will be adjudicated in juvenile court and not adult court, without any weighing of factors.”

After January 1, any juvenile could commit crimes even more depraved than Marsh’s and get out at 25. That means no justice and no peace. So all California residents, and those who come on vacation, should be sure to lock their doors and windows.

CNN’s Lemon: ‘White Men Are Biggest Terror Threat in America’

“There is no white-guy ban, so what do we do about that?”

CNN host Don Lemon declared last night on his broadcast that the biggest threat to the security of the nation is white men, and posited that there should be a ‘white guy ban’ restricting their travel.

“We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.” Lemon exclaimed.

So in the same breath, Lemon declared that ‘people’ must stop being demonized, and then he demonized all white men in America.

I Spent 6 Hours Tweeting About 573 Instances of Leftist Violence, Because CNN Says it Doesn’t Exist

Americans know that the political left is violent, but there is never any reliable, comprehensive coverage of events from our friends in the leftist mainstream press

Tuesday, for no reason in particular, I decided to compile a little Tweet thread.

So I Tweeted out a few instances of leftist violence (that CNN assures Americans daily does not exist). And when I got there, I thought maybe I’d compile 20 or 30 Tweets. And when I got there, I thought maybe I’d Tweet just 40 or 50 more. And I figured, since I’d Tweeted this many, maybe I’d just Tweet every single instance of leftist violence in America going back three years.

It took six hours. But I compiled a Tweet thread of 573 instances of left-wing violence in America, dating from Monday, Oct. 30 2018, all the way back to Sept. 1, 2015. I’m sure I missed a few — the list basically updates every five minutes. The list has been a smashing success, currently going viral on Twitter. There is a reason that is happening. It is because Americans know that the political left is violent, but there is never any reliable, comprehensive coverage of events from our friends in the leftist mainstream press.

So, if you want to check it out, here’s the first Tweet….

[…]and here’s the last.

There are 202 Tweets in total.

Some leftists, desperate to defend their party’s bruised reputation have complained that many of the instances are not “actual violence” against right wingers. Indeed, some instances are death threats against right wingers, famous Hollywood types calling for assassination of right wingers and instances of theft or vandalism of personal property of right wingers.

This is a rich criticism from the political left, considering that their news networks constantly lecture President Donald J. Trump about his “rhetoric.”

But more importantly, to those leftists attempting to make this distinction, I ask: Which of the items on this list would you want to happen to you? The answer is none.

We’re in a fight…

Mass censorship of conservatives and libertarians is exploding. You’ve already seen this with the demonetization and ultimate purge of Infowars and other alternative media outlets by mega-corporations working in tangent to stifle competition. NY Times Op-Ed Brags of ‘Replacing’ “Embittered White Conservative Minority”

American voters can “show them they’re being replaced”

A New York Times op-ed brags of how Democrats are succeeding at replacing an “embittered white conservative minority.”

“Right now America is tearing itself apart as an embittered white conservative minority clings to power, terrified at being swamped by a new multiracial polyglot majority. The divide feels especially stark in Georgia, where the midterm election is a battle between Trumpist reaction and the multicultural America whose emergence the right is trying, at all costs, to forestall,” writes Michelle Goldberg in an article entitled We Can Replace Them.

She then makes the point that because, “Georgia is less than 53 percent non-Hispanic white,” if people of color can be mobilized as a bloc to vote then Democrats are certain to win.

“In a week, American voters can do to white nationalists what they fear most. Show them they’re being replaced,” writes Goldberg in an article that blurs the lines between “white nationalists” and white people in general.

The study contributes to growing evidence that marijuana use in adolescents is associated with reduced neurocognitive functioning.

Greek Attitudes Toward Religion, Minorities Align More With Central and Eastern Europe Than West

When it comes to public attitudes on religion, national identity and the place of religious minorities, Greeks, like their neighbors to the East, hold more nationalist and less accepting views than do Western Europeans, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of surveys in 34 countries across the continent. Greeks appear to recognize this: Seven-in-ten agree with the statement, “There is a conflict between our country’s traditional values and those of the West.” And a majority of Greeks hold at least some affinity toward Russia: Seven-in-ten adults say a strong Russia is necessary to balance the influence of the West.

Greece is an overwhelmingly Orthodox Christian nation — much like Russia, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries. And, like many Eastern Europeans, Greeks embrace Christianity as a key part of their national identity. In addition, roughly a third of Greek adults say they would be willing to accept Muslims (31%) or Jews (35%) in their family, similar to the share who say this in other Central and Eastern European countries, but far below the shares who express acceptance of religious minorities in Western Europe. And three-quarters of Greeks say being Orthodox is at least somewhat important to being truly Greek; many other Central and Eastern Europeans link religion and nationality in this way (median of 57%), while fewer Western Europeans do (median of 34%).

Religion is also more important in Greeks’ personal lives than it is in those of many Western Europeans. Nine-in-ten Greeks (92%) believe in God — including 59% who say they believe with absolute certainty — while a median of just 15% of Western Europeans say they are certain of God’s existence. And 55% of Greek adults say religion is very important in their lives — more than double the share who say this in Ireland, Italy and Spain, and five times the share in France, Germany and the UK. Greece also is more religious than most Central and Eastern European countries by these measures.

Tied in part to higher levels of religious observance, Greeks are much more opposed to legal same-sex marriage and abortion than Western Europeans are. Seven-in-ten Greeks oppose or strongly oppose allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally — a perspective shared by virtually every Central and Eastern European country surveyed — while majorities in all 15 Western European countries surveyed favor same-sex marriage. And Greeks are divided on the question of whether abortion should be legal or illegal (45% vs. 52%), while majorities throughout Western Europe support legal abortion.

Much like Russians, Poles, and people in other Central and Eastern European countries, most Greeks say it is important to have been born in their country (74%) and to have family background there (85%) in order to be truly Greek, perhaps suggesting that immigrants cannot truly belong. Far fewer Western Europeans hold these views. In addition, a large majority of Greek adults say their culture is superior to others — similar to the shares of adults who say this is in Georgia and Armenia, but much higher than the shares in most countries across the continent…

Italy: We’ll Reach Deal With France to Stop TAV — Toninelli

Decision coming soon says Premier Conte

(ANSA) — Rome, October 30 — Transport and Infrastructure Minister Danilo Toninelli has said it is possible for the government to reach a deal with France to stop the controversial TAV Turin-Lyon high-speed rail link.

“We’ll reach an agreement with France to not have the TAV,” Toninelli said in an excerpt of a interview in a new book by journalist Bruno Vespa that has been released ahead of publication.

“I hear that (French President Emmanuel) Macron has said the TAV is not an infrastructure priority after assessing the costs and benefits.

“And he has not allocated funds for the Lyon tunnel”.

Toninelli also dismissed as “all wrong” the assertion by TAV Commissioner Paolo Foiella that halting the project would lead to penalties of two billion euros for the State. Toninelli’s 5-Star Movement (M5S) has long protested against the TAV and the contract of government it signed with the League said the project should be reconsidered.

Premier Giuseppe Conte stressed Tuesday that a decision on the project has not yet been made, saying it depends on the outcome of a cost-benefit analysis coming soon.

“We are finishing the cost-benefit analysis,” Conte said during a visit to New Delhi.

“The executive is committed to reviewing this project by the contract.

“We are trying to take care of all the details. It is the same method used with the TAP,” he added, referring to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in Puglia.

Last week Conte said the TAP would go ahead.

Italy: Bones at Vatican Site Reopen Missing-Girls Cold Case

Remains could belong to two bodies

(ANSA) — Rome, October 31 — Bones found at the Vatican’s embassy to Italy in Rome on Wednesday reopened a cold case involving two 15-year-old girls who went missing in 1983. A breakthrough in the case of Emanuela Orlandi, the daughter of a Vatican employee, may have arrived after the Vatican said human bones were found in a basement apartment at its nunciature to Italy in Rome’s Via Po next to the Italian capital’s famous Villa Borghese museum.

The Vatican said it had called in the Italian authorities after the remains were found during renovation work.

Another possibility is that the bones belong to Mirella Gregori, another 15-year-old girl who went missing in Rome in 1983.

Investigators are comparing the cranium and teeth with the DNA of Orlandi and Gregori.

A preliminary examination of pelvic bones found at the nunciature has confirmed that they belong to a woman’s body, ANSA sources said.

It will take “from seven to 10 days” to examine the DNA, sources told ANSA. Four workers discovered the bones, judicial sources said Wednesday.

They reportedly told prosecutors “we were digging, we had removed the pavement, then we saw the bones and we immediately raised the alarm”, judicial sources said.

Emanuela Orlandi’s brother Pietro said “the news should fill us with joy but if the bones turned out to be Emanuela’s it’s as if she died today”. He said “if this is the truth it’s important for it to come out. I want to know why Emanuela was in that place and who brought her there”.

A lawyer representing Orland’s family demanded more details after the discovery of the remains in the nunciature. “We will ask the Rome prosecutors’ office and the Holy See how the bones were found and why the find has been related to the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi and Mirella Gregori,” said the lawyer, Laura Sgrò. “The statement released yesterday by the Holy See does not provide much information,” Sgrò said.

The bones may well belong to two people, well-informed sources said later Wednesday.

The sources said that workers employed in renovation work at the site found nearly a whole skeleton and, in another point, bone fragments. Manuela Orlandi’s father Pietro met with prosecutors later, Sgrò said.

“There is a preliminary investigation in course and we hope to have more detailed information in the next few days,” the lawyer said.

Gregori’s sister Maria Antonietta told ANSA: “I don’t want to delude myself, I want to stay with my feet on the ground but in my heart I hope that those bones belong to Mirella, so we can put an end to this affair and I would have a place to go to mourn and take a flower to my sister”.

She said “the investigators have our DNA, they took it when some bones were found in the basilica of Sant’Apollinare (Saint Apollinaire)”.

The Orlandi case has spawned several theories over the years, including that she was murdered to gain traction to have pope John Paul II’s Turkish shooter Mehmet Ali Agca freed, or that organised crime was involved.

Ali Agca was questioned in the case.

In 2016 investigations into the case were shelved.

Six people including a priest were implicated in the investigations on suspicion of complicity in abduction and murder. All but one had links with the Banda della Magliana, a now-defunct crime gang based in Rome.

In September last year the Vatican described as “false and ridiculous” reports that the Vatican had spend large amounts of money on the case.

In an article published by La Repubblica, Italian investigative reporter Emiliano Fittipaldi wrote about a leaked document that allegedly showed the Vatican spent over 483 million lira, around 250,000 euros, on the case between 1983 and 1997.

In the piece, Fittipaldi reported money went to a pensioner in London and medical expenses in the British capital.

Fittipaldi has written books in the past with revelations linked to the two VatiLeaks scandals featuring embarrassing leaks of confidential documents.

In 2016 Italian film director Roberto Faenza said his latest movie “The Truth is in the Sky” was aimed at encouraging authorities to reopen the Orlandi case.

The film, inspired by Vito Bruschini’s “The Truth on the Orlandi Case” book, tells the story of an English TV station which sends a journalist to Rome to investigate the origins of the Mafia Capitale scandal involving city authorities’ links to criminal organisations.

“The Truth is in the Sky” is a phrase that Pope Francis said when he met Orlandi’s family in the Vatican, Faenza said, adding that in fact he believes the truth is on earth and his film is aimed at encouraging investigators to keep pursuing it.

Freed! Christian Who Was Given Death Sentence for Offering Muslims Water

‘The appellant being innocent deserves acquittal’

She was arrested in 2009 and convicted in 2010 under section 295-C of Pakistan’s penal code that punishes blasphemy against Muhammad with the death penalty. She was sentenced to execution by hanging.

“Asia had been accused of speaking disparagingly about the prophet but her real crime was that she offered water to Muslim co-workers who believed Asia had made the water ceremonially unclean by drinking from the same cup. They asked her to convert to Islam, which Asia refused. Five days after this argument between the women, a Muslim cleric lodged a complaint against Asia after a mob of Muslims beat her and forced her to confess,” the ACLJ reported.

The Supreme court, however, found the confession was made under the threat of violence, and that the story of her “blasphemy” was “concocted.”

China Secretly Puts Military Scientists in Western Colleges

Obscured their connections when applying to study overseas

Universities in the US, UK, Australia, and other countries may have been unknowingly collaborating with China’s military.

That’s according to a new study by Canberra-based think tank Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), which found that dozens of scientists and engineers linked to China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had obscured their military connections when applying to study overseas.

Most strikingly, said ASPI, the collaboration is the highest among the “Five Eyes” countries—an intelligence alliance consisting of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US—which counts China as one of their “main intelligence adversaries.” The fear is that such scientists could be engaging in espionage or committing intellectual-property theft during their stints overseas.

Bolsonaro ‘Bragging’: I’m Protected Says Battisti

President can’t overrule judiciary says ex-terrorist

(ANSA) — Rome, October 31 — New Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is “only bragging” in saying he can extradited former leftist terrorist Cesare Battisti to Italy, Battisti said Wednesday, saying “I am protected” by the Brazilian justice system.

“Bolsonaro can say what he wants, I’m protected by the Supreme Court. His are just words, empty bragging. He can’t do anything, there is justice,” said the former terrorist.

Battisti said he was “absolutely not worried” by Bolsonaro’s promise to Interior Minister Matteo Salvini.

“I don’t think Bolsonaro is interested in creating discord between the judicial power and the executive…I have no problems”.

Battisti added that he had not been trying to escape in going to Sao Paulo to see his lawyers and was going back home.

Battisti travelled to Sao Paulo to meet his lawyers Tuesday and will return to the Carijo district of Cananeia where he lives in the coming days, his lawyer Igor Tamasauskas told ANSA earlier Wednesday.

The lawyer was responding to media reports that the former terrorist had done a bunk.

In a series of messages to ANSA’s Sao Paulo office, Tamasauskas said that after Tuesday’s meeting Battisti “told me he was going to visit some friends and then go back to Cananeia, without giving me a precise date”. Turin daily La Stampa reported Wednesday that Battisti has been missing in Brazil since the election of Bolsonaro, who has vowed to return him to Italy.

“Nobody has seen him since last Monday”, the paper reported, saying Battisti could have left his home after the election of Bolsonaro, a far-right politician who has promised to extradite Battisti.

Battisti is wanted to serve out several life sentences for murders in the so-called ‘Years of Lead’ of leftist and rightist terrorism.

The Turin daily quoted some of Battisti’s neighbors as saying that they last saw him on Sunday.

“He was very angry and concerned”, according to witnesses interviewed by La Stampa at a bar near his home in the residential district of Carijo, close to downtown Cananeia.

Battisti was reportedly finishing to refurbish his home, where he had moved in April.

Another friend was quoted by La Stampa as saying that Battisti wanted to “face the consequences” and that he is “tired of fleeing”.

Battisti, whose extradition was formerly halted by ex-president Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva, has always denied committing murder.

The director of the tribunal of Cananeia, Anderson Nascimento, said Battisti is free to move in Brazil as there is no measure against his free circulation.

Milan daily Il Giornale also reported local police sources as confirming that Battisti has left the area.

On Monday, Italian Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said he was ready to go to Brazil and get Battisti if Bolsonaro decided to extradite him to Italy as promised.

Germany: DNA Evidence: Migrant Arrested After Sex Assaults on Women, Animals in City Already Rocked by Migrant Gang Rapes

German police in Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg, have arrested a migrant male after DNA evidence linked him to several sexual assaults and cases of animal welfare abuse committed over the course of two years.

The arrest in the south-western German city was triggered after officers conducted what a police press release praised as “meticulous” forensic work in matching DNA samples taken from several crime scenes. In the first of three sexual assaults linked to the arrest of the unnamed 28-year-old Eritrean migrant, a 30-year-old German woman was attacked in late May of 2018.

A second case took place in mid-June, when DNA evidence was again found at an attempted sexual assault on a 31-year-old woman in the city. The most recent incident came in July, when a 20-year-old woman was attacked in a house with “sexual intent.”

Yet the investigation took an unusual turn when the assaults were also linked to a farm attack near the town. The 2017 contravention of the Animal Welfare Act saw sheep and goats “sexually targeted,” with DNA evidence left behind by the suspected perpetrator which was subsequently matched by the police database to the Freiburg attacker.

Get Woke, Go Broke… Leftist School Loses Most of Its Students

When a school, or any organization, gets taken over by Leftist lunacy, it is called “convergence,” where all thought now is focused into their belief system. Their own word for this is “woke,” in other words they are now awake to the “fact” that everything is RACIST, that gender politics is everything, that, quite literally, no further action can be taken by the organization except political acts in support of the ideology.

“Get woke, go broke,” has been the catchphrase to describe how this works out in the commercial world. Comics have been converged for some time, and major companies like DC and Marvel have seen their sales plummet. Similarly, watching the latest converged Star Wars movies gives plenty of insight into why the value of that intellectual property has dropped off so sharply. Or perhaps I could mention how things are working out for the NFL?

Getting back to higher ed, we’ve seen the same effect, as converged schools consistently experience a sharp drop-off in enrollments. It’s a curious thing, as time and again the followers of this ideology scream at us how what they want is obviously a great thing…but human beings consistently say they aren’t interested in the ideology, not in comics, not in movies, not in sports…and not in education.

Evergreen College is particularly “woke,” to the point that they have regular anti-white hate indoctrination/seminars. There was an estimate a few months ago about how many new students were interested in this converged school, but the semester’s started, so let’s see how the estimate matches reality:…

Science Shows Sex is Binary, Not a Spectrum

Last week, The New York Times ran an op-ed by Anne Fausto-Sterling, a professor of biology and gender studies at Brown University, arguing that biological sex is not binary. The piece joined a long succession of media coverage criticizing the Department of Health and Human Services’ recently leaked memo, which proposed legally defining sex as either male or female.

From a scientific perspective, there was nothing wrong with HHS’s definition. Biological sex refers to whether we are female or male, based on our anatomy and reproductive functions. The concept of sex is, by definition, binary.

Fausto-Sterling’s piece points to the existence of intersex people as evidence that this isn’t the case. Certainly, research has shown that as many as 1 percent of the population is intersex, a medical condition denoting that an individual possesses anatomy characteristic of both sexes, such as a combination of vulvar and testicular tissue. Statistically speaking, however, this means that the vast majority of us fall into one category of sex or the other.

  1. “After nine years the Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi has been freed from prison. Ms. Bibi was convicted of blasphemy against Islam in 2010 and sentenced to death. Today the highest court in Pakistan voided her conviction and ordered her release.”

This might be the best news coming out of Pakistan in the last 9 years. Hopefully another country will offer her and her family asylum. The Islamists will not rest till they kill her.

    • I agree. She and her family must leave Pakistan. Surely India would take them in, or Canada or the USA?

      • And I wrote that before the news about the riots breaking out… Imagine, a whole country ganging up against one person. For such a reason. Reality is so much worse than imagination.

  2. Good news about Asia Bibi. Now that doesn’t mean she will be safe, rather exposed again to arbitray mob wrath. Is anyone placing bets that Western countries will scramble to whisk her into safety and grant asylum to someone for whom the idea actually exists in the first place? Or even the church for which she risked her life by being loyal to it?

Unrelated, I also just learned this:
    https://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2015/08/24/should-birthright-citizenship-be-abolished/birthright-citizenship-is-not-actually-in-the-constitution
Does it mean the issue is not such a hot potatoe after all and the illegal migrant supporters doomed to fail, if at last in the Supreme Court?

  3. “In addition, a large majority of Greek adults say their culture is superior to others — similar to the shares of adults who say this is in Georgia and Armenia, but much higher than the shares in most countries across the continent…” that’s because they still cling onto the idea of Antiquity, because their country hasn’t done anything particularly useful since. Georgia and Armenia are much the same, nations that have some sort of historic importance, but nobody was able to build on it since. Bulgarians are like that too (soooooo many Bulgarians will tell you Bulgaria is the cradle of European civilisation and how they invented literally everything, it’s almost funny – except they really mean it). On the other hand you have extremely successful nations that will tell you how bad their country is, so perhaps there’s a pattern/connection.
