South Africa Unexpectedly Slides Into Recession for the First Time Since 2009

With South Africa reeling amid concerns of land expropriation, the rand tumbling amid broad emerging market fears and the local economy pressured by collapsing consumer spending, moments ago the Pretoria-based Statistics South Africa announced that Q2 GDP contracted at a 0.7% annualized rate, missing expectations of a 0.6% increase, and together with the sharp drop in Q1 GDP, South Africa has now officially entered its first recession since 2009.

A Small Virginia Town is Spending Tens of Thousands of Dollars on Damage Control After a Local Restaurant Refused to Serve Sarah Sanders, The White House Press Secretary.

Stephanie Wilkinson, owner of The Red Hen, approached Sanders when she visited the restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, and asked her to leave because she worked for President Donald Trump.

Once news of the incident got out, a wave of protesters entered the town and stood outside the restaurant holding signs and chanting.

[…]

The tourism board for the region, which includes Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County, was flooded with phone calls and emails about the incident.

“For a town our size, it was a significant impact,” Director of Marketing Patty Williams stated.

Tourism board members met soon after to discuss the potential revenue impact of the publicity, considering that Lexington has attracted the most tourists to the area.

The restaurant closed for two weeks, and Wilkinson stepped down as director of Main Street Lexington, an organization that works to improve the downtown area.

“Considering the events of the past weekend, Stephanie felt it best that for the continued success of Main Street Lexington, she should step aside,” said Elizabeth Branner, president of the Main Street Lexington Board of Directors.

[…]

But a sign seen in the window of the restaurant bearing a quote from the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. — “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend” — has sparked additional commentary, as did what happened after Sanders and her family left the restaurant:

Sanders and her husband went home, “(b)ut the rest of her family went across the street to a different restaurant,” according to her father, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. “The owner of the Red Hen — nobody’s told this — then followed them across the street, called people, and organized a protest yelling and screaming at them from outside the other restaurant and creating this scene.”

[Note: This town has a lot of history and is worth visiting if you’re in Virginia]

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Won’t Seek Re-Election in 2019

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Tuesday he won’t see re-election next year, saying he’s ready to move on to other challenges.

“This has been the job of a lifetime, but it is not a job for a lifetime,” he said at a press conference, ending plans to seek a third term.

Mr. Emanuel had been an adviser to President Clinton, then a congressman from Illinois and then President Obama’s first chief of staff before leaving to run for the mayorship, first winning in 2011 and then winning re-election in 2015 in a race that had to go to a runoff.

Mr. Obama, whose political career also grew out of Chicago politics, praised his former staffer as “a tireless and brilliant public servant.”

Mr. Emanuel, with his wife Amy at his side, said he took pride in local advances such as longer school years and universal kindergarten and prekindergarten.

On the national stage, though, he will more likely be remembered for controversial decisions involving the city’s policing, and a crime wave that saw the murder rate surge in 2016.

[Note: He won’t be missed. Emanuel is leaving the city in worse shape than he found it.]

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Will Not Seek Re-Election

Less than a month after black Chicagoans called Rahm Emanuel a “con man” as protesters expressed their outrage over the lack of economic development on the South and West Sides of the city, compared to the North Side, as gang violence continues to plague their neighborhoods.

“Rahm Emanuel is a con man. His whole job is to keep black folks divided,” one man told Fox News’ Gianno Caldwell, who covered the march, adding that Emanuel “doesn’t care about anybody” except his own neighborhood and his own family, while another woman said Emanuel seems to care more about illegal immigrants in the city.

“African-Americans, we’re citizens, and our ancestors built this country,” she told Caldwell, whose younger brother survived a shooting last year that killed his best friend.”

NBC Chicago reports that the Chicago mayor will not seek re-election.

New York Times Lobbies Facebook to Shut Down Private InfoWars Fan Page

Not content with Infowars and Alex Jones having been banned on nearly every major social media platform, the New York Times is now lobbying Facebook to delete a private Infowars fan page.

In an article entitled Facebook’s Private Groups Offer Refuge to Fringe Figures, the NY Times’ Kevin Roose reveals how “a private Infowars Facebook group with more than 110,000 members” has “survived the crackdown”.

Roose goes on to accuse the group’s users of posting “the sort of content — hateful attacks against Muslims, transgender people and other vulnerable groups — that got Mr. Jones suspended,” while providing zero examples of such content or defining what constitutes “hate”.

He then admits that he is personally lobbying Facebook to have the page shut down.

Nike Ad Featuring Colin Kaepernick Sparks Scorn and Mockery on Twitter

Nike officially announced Colin Kaepernick as the face of their new “Just Do It” campaign, on Monday afternoon.

Nike tweeted:

The theme of sacrifice, was quickly seized upon by several on Twitter. Though, probably not in the way Nike had intended:

Collins’ tweet, depicting former NFL player and Army Ranger Pat Tillman who was killed during combat operations in Afghanistan in 2004, was widely used by people on social media to show what an athlete making a real sacrifice looks like.

Nike’s Kaepernick Ad Has Cost the Company Over $4 Billion So Far

In a move that will likely infuriate president Trump, and/or lead to a sharp decline in Air Max sales, on Monday afternoon Nike and Colin Kaepernick unveiled a new ad campaign featuring the controversial former NFL quarterback as part of the company’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” ad campaign.

The image, which Kaepernick tweeted out, shows a black-and-white closeup of the quarterback’s face and the words, “Believe in something. Even it if it means sacrificing everything. Just do it.”

With images of Nike apparel and footwear being burned and real sacrifice being discussed, it appears investors are growing as disillusioned as NFL fans as Nike shares are down over 3% in the pre-market.

Acid Attacks, Witchcraft and Britain’s Diversity

2017 was a banner year for acid attacks in Britain.

465 of them occurred in London. Most of the acid attacks are taking place in East London. The borough of Newham tops the acid attacks chart with 85 last year. What’s so special about Newham?

Nothing the media will tell you.

Newham has the second highest Muslim percentage population and the lowest native British population in London. Tower Hamlets, which has the highest Muslim population percentage, has the second highest rate of acid attacks.

None of the two dozen media explainers pretending to explain why London became the world’s acid attack capital have bothered citing that simple statistic. Instead there’s lots of mumbling about poverty, gang violence and the need for household cleaner control. To add on to the failed knife control policy.

The UK boasts the highest number of recorded acid attacks in the world. It narrowly beats out Bangladesh for the honor only because it has more transparent crime statistics and because a sizable percentage of the population of that Muslim country has relocated to the cozy boroughs of London.

Could Jellyfish Help Rid Our Waters of Plastic Waste?

Beachgoers in Israel must often contend with two nuisances in the long summer months: jellyfish and garbage.

Jellyfish usually swarm the waters to terrorize bathers beginning in July (and sometimes even in June) and their gelatinous remains can be found dotting the shoreline for the next two months.

The plastic waste, meanwhile, is a permanent feature on the beach and in the water during those months, much to the dismay of those who care for the beach experience. Plastic garbage thrown away by beachgoers makes up a staggering 92 percent of the waste found in Israel’s seawaters, whereas the global average is only 75 percent, according to a 2015 study by the University of Haifa.[…]

Globally, the world has produced some 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste since the 1950s, only nine percent of which has been recycled and another 12 percent incinerated, and the majority of it ends up in the ocean, according to an Economist report this year. In 2016 alone, plastics production worldwide totaled some 335 million metric tons.

Israeli scientists have been working alongside international researchers to find an innovative solution to help minimize plastic waste in the seawater, also known as microplastics following a degradation process, using jellyfish.

According to Dr. Andy Booth, a senior research scientist with a Norway-based research organization that has partnered with Go Jelly, ridding a marine environment of microplastics is an extremely difficult task, mainly due to concentration. Plastics from a decade ago are still present and still more plastics are being released into the environment every day, he said, adding that some microplastics are buoyant while some sink, making them harder to retrieve.

[…]

Since January, Dr. Angel and his team have been closely looking at the role of jellyfish-produced mucus and whether it could be used as a trapping agent to develop a filter for use in wastewater treatment plants and industrial processes to dispose of waste.

Dr. Angel tells NoCamels that the research mainly focuses on such plants since they could help prevent much of the output of microplastics into marine systems.

“The use of plastic in urban [environments] is ridiculous. We use a lot of plastic and we release things into the environment constantly, especially after using a washing machine [for example]. We aren’t just releasing it to the ground around us, it is being released and treated by wastewater [plants],” he says.

Dr. Angel also describes a cyclical process that affects other industries. “There is a huge amount of re-used wastewater or treated water in Israel — we use the water for irrigation and there’s an ‘enrichment’ of microplastics in the soil which of course could go back to the sea, or the plastic could travel into the things we cultivate in agriculture.”

With the project still in its preliminary stages, the research team has so far gathered a number of various plastic particles for testing. The second part of the project involves removing a large number of jellyfish from the sea…[…]

Why China Has Less Babies and Fewer Marriages

Beijing may compensate families previously banned from having two children during the decades when China’s one-child policy was in force.

The State Council is contemplating doling out subsidies to households with only one child. The hope is that those with no brothers or sisters, known as the “one-child policy survivors” and who are now in their prime reproductive years, will have more babies.

Beijing was panicked to discover that newborns may become an “endangered species” in some parts of China, like the northeastern provinces.

Subsidies could be paid to one-child families in rural areas, families with special needs and those residing in less developed provinces in the west, according to the People’s Daily.

This is another admission by state media that Beijing had overdone its birth control policy since the 2000s when China’s population growth started to lose momentum and its subsequent revisions to allow parents to have more babies was too little and too late.

In 2006, Beijing started paying an annual stipend of about 600 yuan (US$88) to each rural resident aged above 60 with no child and similar allowances were also paid to parents of deceased or disabled children whose hope of having another baby were dashed by the one-child policy.

Central and local governments will pay for the subsidies, according to a notice released on the State Council’s website on Monday.

Introduced in 1979, China’s one-child policy was implemented for more than 30 years and averted an estimated 400 million births. The policy began to be phased out into a two-child policy at the end of 2015.

How the New Colonizers Are Forgetting the People of Africa

As a citizen of a developed nation like the United States, it’s easy to believe that because we enjoy much prosperity, other nations must desire to adopt our societal ways. But should other countries embrace the degrading ideas about morality and sexual ethics so prized by Western thought?

In her well-sourced book Target Africa, Nigerian activist Obianuju Ekeocha lays out a passionate defense of African tradition and thought as based in fundamental beliefs about family, marriage, and the sanctity of human life.

From an outsider’s perspective, the world’s second most-populous continent is both full of potential and in need of our help. As the author explains, the new colonizers of the late 20th and 21st centuries are so influenced by what they think African nations want that they completely overlook what they need. She defines this motivation as “philanthropic racism,” whereby major donors bypass education of all types in favor of quick fixes that resemble Western convention.

This ideological neocolonialism is focused on introducing abortion and contraception as a regular part of African society. According to Ekeocha, organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation looking to inject themselves quite literally into African life believe they are valiantly targeting the root causes of poverty along the way. But as the author passionately points out, instead of supplying tools that promote responsibility, they decrease the dignity of each African by suggesting harmful alternatives devoid of the most basic of ethical boundaries.

If a nation is ravaged by an AIDS epidemic, does supplying more condoms begin to safely target the root cause of the problem? If maternal and neonatal deaths sit at high rates, does encouraging the life-ending procedure of abortion save them? If absolutely essential medical care for men, women, and children is sorely lacking, why suggest that females begin taking contraception? As the author lays out in her fiery yet measured tone, attempts to address these and other issues is failing. African nations are filled with diverse and talented individuals with rich and colorful histories. Those born and those yet to deserve better than to be used as pawns by foreigners who want to be seen as a continuous funding source and necessity, but never an actual solution to internal ills.[…]

Israel to Help Connect 60 Million African Homes to the Grid by 2030

Israel and the US are scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding next week that will see Israel join the Power Africa initiative, an international program led by the US that aims to connect 60 million households in Africa to the electricity grid by 2030.

Being part of the program will enable Israeli energy firms, including startups, to make use of the tools provided by Power Africa to promote electricity generation projects on the continent, and could lead “to billions of dollars of deal-flow for Israeli firms,” according to Israeli solar energy pioneer Yosef Abramowitz, whose firm, Energiya Global Capital is one of the founding partners of Power Africa. Energiya is already working with the US and Israeli government to deploy $2 billion in solar and wind installations in 10 countries in Africa over the next five years.

[…]

Following the agreement, Israeli companies will be able to take part in the Power Africa initiative, and will receive a diverse toolbox to promote electricity generation, including increased access to local government bodies, financial grants, contacts with financing entities, professional and legal advice and feasibility surveys.[…]

Stunning Footage Inside Brazil’s Fire-Gutted National Museum

It contained centuries-old priceless artifacts charting the history of an entire country and people. The National Museum of Brazil was established in 1818 under King John VI of Portugal and contained over 20 million exhibits and artifacts, but was consumed completely by a devastating fire on Sunday night after it closed for the day.

Now Brazilians are raging at their government’s failure to take simple preventative measures that could have saved the museum after its central building caught fire, quickly engulfing side buildings, which firefighters were helpless to do much about. There wasn’t even so much as a working fire suppression system, considered standard for most any national antiquities museum across the globe, according to local reports.

Witnesses say that though security and other staff were evacuated in time, nothing of the museum’s priceless collection could be saved.

The majority of people who travelled to Europe in 2015 at the height of the continent’s Migrant Crisis had made the journey seeking better material living standards and did not fit the criteria to be refugees, Finland’s Prime Minister has said.

Speaking during an interview with Finnish public broadcaster YLE at the weekend, Juha Sipilä asserted that the mass influx of immigrants seen in 2015 and 2016 following Angela Merkel’s suspension of EU Dublin rules has “caused the recent unrest in Europe”, highlighting protests in Germany’s Chemnitz over murders by migrants.

Number of Germans Killed by Foreigners Highest in Years — Police

Number of murders by foreigners is on the rise in Germany, new police figures of closed murder cases reveal amid anti-immigrant protests and counter-rallies in Chemnitz.

A total of 731 homicides were registered in Germany last year. In at least 83 of the cases, law enforcement identified at least one non-German suspect, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) revealed to Welt am Sonntag. While the BKA’s numbers fail to specify the nationality of the suspects, the new figures show that cases involving a “non-German” suspect rose significantly in 2017, compared to 62 cases registred in the previous year.

Ten-Year-Old German Boy Raped by Migrant Classmates on School Trip

A ten-year-old boy from Berlin was reportedly raped by three asylum seeker classmates while on a school trip to an isolated castle north of the German capital.

The attack occurred just before the start of the summer holidays at a school trip to Schloss Kröhlendorff, an isolated castle where the victim and 38 other students were supposed to engage in various outdoor activities.

The ten-year-old boy had previously been harassed by the three fellow students on the day of the attack, two aged 11 and another aged ten from Afghanistan and Syria, prior to the rape with one of them telling the German boy, “We you today,” Berliner Zeitung reports.

That evening, two of the members of the group, an Afghan and a Syrian both aged 11, held the boy down while the ten-year-old Afghan sexually abused and raped him. Two other classmates witnessed the rape but none told teachers.

A.I. Could Spur Global Growth as Much as the Steam Engine Did, Study Shows

Artificial intelligence could contribute an additional 1.2 percent to annual GDP growth for at least the next decade, according to McKinsey Global Institute.

The institute’s model expects about 70 percent of companies will adopt at least one form of AI by 2030, and that a significant portion of large firms will use a full range of the technology.

The McKinsey analysis found that countries that establish themselves as AI leaders — mostly developed economies— could capture 20 to 25 percent more in economic benefits compared to current levels.

Old TV Broadcast That Warns of the End of Civilization in 2040 Found as the Elite Warn Earth’s Landscape “Set to Undergo Major Transformation”

An old television broadcast from 1973 has been discovered that warns that things will start getting really bad on this planet around the year 2020 and that our current civilization will come to an end in 2040. The 1973 television broadcast focused on an MIT computer model known as “World One” that attempted to predict what growing pollution and population levels would mean for our planet if nothing was done. This computer model was funded by the Club of Rome, and these days the exact same people are still trying to scare us into giving up our national sovereignty “for the good of the planet” so that they can implement their “New World Order”. They hope to convince all of us that we are facing “global problems” that require “global solutions”, and they are convinced that power is better off in the hands of global policy-making institutions such as the United Nations.

If you would like to watch the doomsday television broadcast from 1973 that was recently unearthed, you can find it right here. If the MIT computer model is correct, things should start getting really, really bad over the next few years, and without a doubt it is entirely possible that we could see that happen.

But even if the MIT model is proven correct, the goals of those that funded it are deeply insidious. The Club of Rome was founded by some of the top globalists on the entire planet, and their ultimate goal is “a New World Order with corporations managing everything.” The following comes from WND…

Since 1973, the goals of the Club of Rome have not changed.

The organization is getting ready to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and one of their top priorities right now is “implementing the Sustainable Development Goals”…

If you go to the official UN website and read through the 17 point plan, you will rapidly discover that the Sustainable Development Goals are essentially a blueprint for global government.

Instead of simply focusing on how to fix the environment, the Sustainable Development Goals cover just about every form of human activity imaginable. The 17 point plan includes “solutions” for economics, healthcare, education, agriculture, gender equality, infrastructure, energy, transportation and “inclusiveness”.

In essence, it is one of the most extensive blueprints for the New World Order that we have seen yet.

[Comment: Original Rollerball movie with James Caan depicted such a dystopian future — corporations controlling everything and public hooked on drugs.]

  1. Regarding the video from Australia: if in 1973 third world countries were forced to control births, we would live in a completely different world.

  2. In Russia, there are so many events that it would be possible to score a whole news line. For example:
Residents of Dagestan threaten reprisal Yegor Creed (pop singer) for a concert in Makhachkala.

Dagestan Instagram users demand from singer Yegor Creed not to come to Makhachkala and cancel the concert, which is scheduled for September 9

Otherwise, according to some of them, the artist is in for physical reprisals.

“Cancel the concert in Makhachkala or you die.” The republic is seriously opposed to you, “” Do not stop in Dagestan, for your benefit and, of course, to us, “they write to the singer in social networks.

A certain user writes on Egor’s page that “all the kafirs wanted to come, but did not come in. Rockers wanted to come and there were still kuffar, but all their concerts were canceled.
And Yegor will simply lose his time (perhaps, health), the brothers will not allow that in the republic they are engaged in debauchery and sing their songs. ”

    • I like many of his songs and music videos, but I can understand why islamic fundamentalists would object to such a hedonist. What I don’t understand is why he would want to have a concert in Dagestan in the first place.

      • Now I first listened to Yegor Creed.
I would also kill him for lack of voice and poor lyrics.

  3. Merkel to the citizens of Chemwitz: “You’ll be raped and murdered and you better like it.”
