Hungarian Government: George Soros Mobilised More Than Hundred Thousand People

An anti-government protest was held in Budapest on Saturday. The protesters — according to most assessments more than 100.000 people — demonstrated for new and fair elections, democracy, press freedom, a Hungary against corruption and intimidation. The organisers drew attention to the need for a new opposition force instead of the fragmented opposition which was unable to cooperate in the elections. According to the Hungarian government, the demonstration was organised by the “Soros network”.

Poland’s Plight

Probably the most misused country in Western and Central Europe has been Poland. It is difficult to find another country in the region that has been as abused by not only the communists, but by its supposed allies, as that nation.

Poland at one time was a very powerful country, perhaps the most powerful around the 1600s. In fact, if it were not for the Polish army lifting the siege against Vienna and defeating the Islamic hordes of the Ottoman Empire, Europe would have become a Muslim region.

Tariq Ramadan’s Rape Trial: Blame the Victim

If defending Tariq Ramadan is regrettable, Western silence is worse.

There are also those who blame Ramadan’s alleged victims. According to The New Yorker, “[Ayeri] is something of a heroine in the extreme-right circles of the fachosphère, where Islamophobia is a ticket of admission”. So, the “real” problem is “Islamophobia,” not the Muslim subjugation of women.

The three women who accused Ramadan of rape have been the subjects of intimidation, violence and threats.

“The blindness of the Anglo-Saxons on political Islam is frightening”. — Pascal Bruckner, French philosopher.

Palestinians and the Arabs

By Robert Vincent

This past Friday, April 13, I attended a small gathering at the University of Toledo campus entitled “Israel: Democracy or Apartheid State?” sponsored by the local chapter of the notorious Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). The guest speaker was Josh Ruebner, policy director for the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights. It proved to be an educational experience.

The audience of around 30 people included primarily SJP members, with a few other curious, if sympathetic, students and non-students. Also present was Mike Galbraith, who is running as a Democrat for the 5th Congressional District (my district). When I arrived before the meeting began, Mr. Galbraith was engaged in a friendly and animated discussion with Mr. Ruebner.

The talk initially centered on recent events in Gaza. Mr. Ruebner went on in great detail about gross violations of human rights allegedly carried out by Israeli forces in response to the “march of return” currently being organized by Hamas and Israeli oppression and discrimination against Palestinians in general. I have only once before experienced such an unending stream of undiluted vitriol directed at Israel, and that was during the U.T. student government BDS vote meeting I attended there two years ago.

One striking aspect of Mr. Ruebner’s diatribe was that he never made a single reference to any Palestinian leadership organization. The Palestinians were simply referred to as just that, a seemingly hapless collection of victims being targeted by Israel, with no leadership or representation of any kind — simply persecuted and deprived of their rights.

There was no reference made to the P.A. or the PLO, and certainly not to Hamas (I could not even get him to say the word — more on this in a moment). Of course, he also did not make any reference to the severe denial of Palestinian rights in other neighboring countries, at least until I forced him to address this during the Q&A portion, which brings us to the most revealing part of the event…

California Rejects Federal Plan for National Guard Duties at the Border

California has rejected a preliminary federal plan for the state’s National Guard troops deployed to the border because it entails too much support for immigration enforcement, according to U.S. officials.

Gov. Jerry Brown surprised many in California April 11 when he authorized 400 National Guard troops to join the 250 already assigned to an ongoing anti-transnational crime program. The additional staffing would allow the Guard to support statewide law enforcement operations, Brown said but emphasized the guardsmen would not detain border jumpers or other illegal aliens.

Study: ‘Christian Nationalism’ Played Significant Role in 2016 U.S. Elections

Conservative Christianity played a far greater role in getting Donald Trump elected to the White House than other factors commonly put forward, says a report in the journal Sociology of Religion.

The study, titled “Make America Christian Again: Christian Nationalism and Voting for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election,” explores the key motivators that accounted for the Trump victory in November 2016.

Contrary to theories alleging racism, “Islamophobia,” sexism, xenophobia, or even economic disadvantage as the driving force behind Trump voters, a team of three researchers found that it was good, old-fashioned patriotism combined with sincere Christian belief that moved voters to reject Hillary Clinton and vote in Donald Trump.

  1. Offensive Songs That Wouldn’t be Allowed Now

Hell, Stephen Foster’s, “Oh Susannah”, wouldn’t last a new York minute.

This is pure revisionism. The only difference is that they’re not hanging fig leafs on statuary or tearing out pages from history books. This time, they’re going after art (ergo, the fig leaf reference). Delimiting artistic expression is a bedrock-level assault on freedom of expression and general creativity.

It is precisely because of idiocy like this that I have never advocated a ban on (c)rap “music”. I may detest the overall genre, but it still is (for the most part) Constitutionally protected speech. The words “most part” is used to disqualify “kill Whitey” and “off the pigs” themes which are flagrant violations of the law.

Regardless, this new attempt (remember Tipper Gore and her histrionics?) at curtailing Freedom of Speech needs to be strangled in the cradle.

    • Speaking of Stephen Foster, there’s “Old Black Joe”, and also “Old Uncle Ned”. The latter features the lyric:

“No more hard work for poor old Uncle Ned,
He’s gone where the good darkies go.”

      • I may not always agree with you, and I’m pretty sure you’re not a “darkie”, but I hope you won’t be going just yet!

      • Speaking of Stephen Foster, there’s “Old Black Joe”, and also “Old Uncle Ned”.

Although not lyrical in nature, these same folks would have been gunning for Groucho Marx in a heartbeat.

        The Headstrongs married the Armstrongs,
        The Armstrongs married the Headstrongs,
And that’s where darkies come from!

    • This point is even more ironically hilarious when we realize the lyrical filth purveyed by Kendrick Lamar just won the Pulitzer for music.

About how different content on the site Russia Today, for the Russian and English-speaking public, I have repeatedly written.
Notice how different it is on the UN website. First I read this news in Russian.

Despite the fact that the victims of sexual violence of the Islamic state appeared in the headline, you can see how two Muslim women who met in the UN translated the problem into the refugee crisis Rohingya .
I wanted to share this discovery with you and tried to find an article in English. And, oh, a miracle! In the article in English there was a very little note about sexual violence in the Islamic state and Boko Haram. The initiative came from a Hindu (?) woman. So what source can a poor woman (i.e. me) believe?

  3. If anyone wants to ruin their day there are at least a dozen “part and parcel” type stories on Breitbart.

Even in tiny Binghamton, NY, where the university president claims, “violence is a part of society,” after the second vibrant-committed murder in two weeks.

Luckily, the perp in the first murder self-deported to Nicaragua.
