DALLAS — A judge has dismissed with prejudice a lawsuit filed by the father of a Muslim boy arrested after taking a homemade clock to his Dallas-area school.

The family of Ahmed Mohamed had complained that the Irving, Texas, school district discriminated against the boy, then 14, in 2015 because of his race and religion.

Meet the Prominent Miami Firm Behind the Collapsed FIU Bridge

When a 175-foot stretch of a concrete bridge collapsed Thursday afternoon over Southwest Eighth Street, slamming down onto cars waiting at a stoplight, a prominent construction team instantly came under scrutiny.

Munilla Construction Management and FIGG Bridge Group, the firms behind the $14.3 million walkway connecting Florida International University to the tiny blue-collar burb of Sweetwater, have a long history of massive public works projects, political donations — and a few safety issues.

MCM is one of the most influential construction firms in Miami-Dade, and its executives are significant donors in county races. Pedro Munilla, the partner and company vice president who helps lead the firm, is a former attorney who was effectively disbarred in 2001. A Florida Supreme Court filing said Munilla agreed to a “disciplinary resignation” which is “tantamount to disbarment.” His Florida Bar listing includes his MCM email address and identifies Munilla as “not eligible to practice law in Florida.”

He enjoys cordial relationships with elected officials at all levels of government. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez said he spoke by phone with Munilla in the hours after the collapse while the mayor was in Hong Kong during a trade mission. One of Gimenez’s sons, lobbyist C. J. Gimenez, has registered to lobby for MCM in the past, and his other son, Julio, used to work for the company as a construction executive…

Belgian Theatre Apologises for Ad Seeking Former ISIS Fighters

A Belgian theatre has apologised for placing newspaper advertisements seeking actors who had fought for Islamic State or had killed their siblings.

The theatre in Ghent was looking for recruits for a play by the Swiss director Milo Rau, who attracted controversy last year by casting children in a play about a notorious Belgian paedophile.

“Have you fought for your convictions? For God? Have you fought for Isis or other religions? Get in touch,” read one of the adverts for the NTGent theatre, which was published in a Dutch-speaking free weekly newspaper.

Italy: 3 ISIS Militants Nabbed for Bonatti Kidnappings

In Libya

(ANSA) — Rome, March 16 — Three Libyan ISIS militants were arrested in Libya Friday for kidnapping four workers from the Bonatti oil infrastructure engineering firm, two of whom later died in a fire-fight. The three have reportedly confessed, sources said.

Fausto Piano, Salvatore Failla, Filippo Calcagno and Gino Pollicardo were kidnapped in Sabratha on July 19 2015. Piano and Failla died on March 3 2016 during a firefight while they were being moved by their captors. Calcagno and Pollicardo were freed.

“I knew we were in the hands of ISIS,” said Pollicardo on Friday.

“The network (of kidnappers) is probably wider,” he said. The three are accused of kidnapping with a terrorist aim aggravated by the deaths of two hostages.

The three are already in jail in Tripoli on other charges.

They are Youssef Aldauody, the driver of the vehicle carrying the Italians when they were abducted, and Ahmed Dhawadi and Ahmad Elsharo. They have reportedly confessed the four were taken hostage to get a ransom to fund the terror group.

The trio have reportedly confirmed that no ransom was paid for the Italians.

Another 10 people allegedly took part in the abductions, all of whom died in the firefight.

Bonatti are an oil and gas international general contractor with 70 years of experience in the service of the oil and gas and power industries, according to their website.

Four members of the Bonatti board will appear before a preliminary hearings judge on March 27 on suspicion of culpable complicity in a culpable crime.

Serbia: Council of Europe, Few Steps in Fighting Corruption

None of the recommendations of 2015 has been implemented

(ANSA) — STRASBOURG — Serbia has made very few steps forward in preventing and fighting against corruption of parliamentarians and judges and prosecutors not having implemented in a satisfactory manner any of the 13 recommendations it was given in 2015. The affirmation comes from Greco, the anti-corruption body of the Council of Europe, that in its latest report on the country says that “the overall very low level of compliance with the recommendations is globally unsatisfactory”.

Greco says that Serbia has made “only limited progress towards achieving transparency of the activity of the National Assembly” and that more has to be done to introduce rules for members of parliament on how they interact with lobbyists and other third parties, “given the great risk of undue influence” that they could put on legislative processes.

As for judges and prosecutors Greco reaffirms the necessity to go ahead with the constitutional reform that has to introduce changes in the composition of the High Judicial Council and exclude the National Assembly from the process of recruitment of judges. Greco also asks the authorities to review of the system of appraisal of judges’ performance and the criteria for the recruitment and promotion of prosecutors.

Caroline Glick: Firing Tillerson Removed an Obstacle to Peace

As Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was being fired on Tuesday, his central assumptions about the Palestinian conflict with Israel, which are shared by the entire Washington foreign policy establishment, literally blew up in Gaza.

On Tuesday morning, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah’s convoy was attacked by a roadside bomb during an official visit in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Hamdallah was in Gaza to inaugurate a wastewater treatment facility sponsored by the World Bank. The facility was approved 14 years ago, but infighting between Hamas, which runs Gaza, and Fatah, the PLO ruling faction which controls the Palestinian Authority (PA), blocked its operation time after time.

The shuttered water treatment facility in northern Gaza has long been a monument to the Palestinian leadership’s incompetence and indifference to the plight of the people it is supposed to be serving. As the plant gathered dust, Gaza plunged deeper and deeper into a water crisis…

  1. “A lawsuit filed by the father of Ahmed the Clock Boy has been dismissed with prejudice by a judge in Texas”

    In Texas, Yeah in Texas!

This time, I am really surprised that the muslim magic did not work as usual. This is an aberration: since any trivial absurd case does not disappoint them, him, her. That cowardly attitude has encouraged muhammads to get $10.5 even if they murder someone.

Oh yeah it is written on infidels’ brow to pay jizya and feed their muslim masters starting year 1 hejira or 622 Anno Domini.

Was he rightly righteously guided by CAIR CAIR the US law giver.

    • Murad, who micturated on your Cheerios, man?

This is GOOD news. The Clock Boy has been discredited, his daddy-perp has to pay for the mess he made. Yeah, CAIR will pick up part of the bill for him, but it’s over and the bad guys lost. Justice took her balance scales and hit ‘im upside the head.

There is enough bad news to go around. Learn to discern the bits and pieces of good news or your ability to celebrate the latter will atrophy entirely.

      Sheesh.
