The state of Arizona, sick of the illegals flooding across its border with Mexico while the federal government does nothing, passed an immigration law that its own police can enforce. The law is modeled on federal immigration law in order to make sure it respects the rights of illegal immigrants. Needless to say, the federal government, including President Obama, objects to what Arizona is doing, even though the law is all but identical to the one the feds refuse to enforce.
And now comes the big surprise — the new law is effective! Cracking down on illegal immigrants makes them pack up and go home to Mexico. Who would have thought?
In other news, Iranian women are now subject to arrest if they have suntans. Tanning violates the country’s strict modesty laws.
