Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/18/2015

A young “American” named Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud (Mohammed Coefficient: 100%) left for Syria last year to join the jihad in Syria. He returned “home” earlier this year and planned to commit workplace violence at a military base or a prison. Fortunately, he was arrested before he could carry out his plans. Even more fortunately, the incident had nothing to do with Islam.

In other news, a Swedish shipping line has sent its vessels to the Mediterranean to rescue migrants who might otherwise die during the crossing from North Africa to Italy.

Greece Pushed a Step Closer to Eurozone Exit After IMF Snub

Greece has been pushed a step closer to default and potential exit from the euro after one of its main lenders, the International Monetary Fund, all but ruled out allowing the cash-strapped country to delay repaying the €1bn (£722m) due next month.

The head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, said delaying the payments would be an unprecedented action that would only make the situation worse.

Speaking at the organisation’s spring meeting, she said: “Payment delays have not been granted by the board of the IMF in the last 30 years.”

Her intervention is likely to heighten fears that senior policymakers in the US and Europe are preparing for Greece to leave the eurozone.

One Last Look at the Real Economy Before it Implodes — Part 5

Since I began writing analysis for the liberty movement more than eight years ago, I have always said that we will know when the endgame of the globalists is upon us when the criminals come out into the light of day and admit to their crimes. At that moment, it will be because they no longer fear either the repercussions or their plans being obstructed.

As I plan to show in this installment of my series on the hidden fiscal collapse of America, the endgame has indeed arrived. At the very least, the international elites seem to think success is within their grasp, for they now openly expose their own criminality. But they do so in a way that attempts to divert blame or to rationalize their actions as being for the “greater good.”

Recently, a reader sent me a link that reminded me of comments made by Rep. Louis T. McFadden, chairman of the House Banking Committee, on May 4, 1933. In the wake of his battle against the Federal Reserve, he said:

“… the treacherous signing away of American rights at the 7-power conference at London in July 1931 … put the Federal Reserve System under the control of the Bank of International Settlements.”

Even in 1933, there were some people who could see that the Federal Reserve was just an errand boy, an economic hit man for a more powerful entity. Sadly, McFadden died in 1936 from coronary thrombosis before he could make any headway in his crusade. The truth he stamped into the public record, though, lives on; and it is a truth that many people just don’t want to hear. It is easier to quantify the threat of the Federal Reserve. It is easier to believe that the Fed either controls the entire game or (for the more sheep-minded citizenry) that the Fed is a harmless “quasi-governmental body.” Many of us in the movement want to believe it is the gateway to the seventh circle of hell because if the Fed dies, then we win. And the Fed appears to be killable, most notably in light of certain actions on the part of the East. Unfortunately, the problem is far more complex.

The Global Liquidity Squeeze Has Begun

Get ready for another major worldwide credit crunch. Today, the entire global financial system resembles a colossal spiral of debt. Just about all economic activity involves the flow of credit in some way, and so the only way to have “economic growth” is to introduce even more debt into the system. When the system started to fail back in 2008, global authorities responded by pumping this debt spiral back up and getting it to spin even faster than ever. If you can believe it, the total amount of global debt has risen by $35 trillion since the last crisis. Unfortunately, any system based on debt is going to break down eventually, and there are signs that it is starting to happen once again. For example, just a few days ago the IMF warned regulators to prepare for a global “liquidity shock”. And on Friday, Chinese authorities announced a ban on certain types of financing for margin trades on over-the-counter stocks, and we learned that preparations are being made behind the scenes in Europe for a Greek debt default and a Greek exit from the eurozone. On top of everything else, we just witnessed the biggest spike in credit application rejections ever recorded in the United States. All of these are signs that credit conditions are tightening, and once a “liquidity squeeze” begins, it can create a lot of fear.

American “Returnee” Charged With Plotting Terror on U.S. Soil

And then he came back.

23-year-old Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud left his home in Columbus, Ohio in April 2014 and traveled to Syria with intentions of joining an Islamic terrorist group. He was following in the footsteps of his brother, who had arrived in Syria the year before and fought alongside the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front before being killed in battle in June 2014.

It’s unclear whether Mohamud intended to link up with ISIS or with Al-Nusra. What is clear, according to the federal indictment against him, is that he hooked up with terrorists in Syria who provided him with training and then, a mission: to return to the United States and carry out terror attacks on American soil.

The order to return home was reportedly given by a jihadist cleric in Syria. And Mohamud did what any loyal, fanatical jihadist would do—he followed orders.

He came back to Ohio—the Heartland—allegedly with every intention to kill Americans.

In doing so, he followed a path that I warned about earlier this week: of U.S. and European citizens traveling to Syria and Iraq (not to mention Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan), receiving training from terror groups, and then returning home to wreak havoc in their home countries. Syria—which has become an absolute magnet for young jihadists flocking to join ISIS’s ranks—is a particular problem.

Luckily, Mohamud was arrested by federal authorities in Ohio before he was able to carry out his mission—which allegedly included plans to attack a military base or a prison inside the United States.

Other recent “returnees,” however, have had deadly success—carrying out horrific attacks in Paris and Brussels in the past year alone…

Ben Affleck Demanded PBS Program Hide His Slave-Owning Ancestor

Ben Affleck insisted on censoring the fact that one of his ancestors owned slaves from PBS show “Finding Your Roots,” the Sony email hack has revealed.

In a hacked Sony email from July 22, 2014, now available on WikiLeaks, the show’s host, Henry Louis Gates Jr., writes to Sony USA chief Michael Lynton asking for advice: “One of our guests has asked us to edit out something about one of his ancestors—the fact that he owned slaves. Now, four or five of our guests this season descend from slave owners, including Ken Burns. We’ve never had anyone ever try to censor or edit what we found. He’s a megastar. What do we do?”

Lynton’s advice was to take Affleck’s family secret out of the show, as long as nobody would find out. The Sony chairman and CEO writes, “On the doc the big question is who knows that the material is in the doc and is being taken out. I would take it out if no one knows, but if it gets out that you are editing the material based on this kind of sensitivity then it gets tricky.”

Gates, who is friends with Lynton and wrote “I need your advice,” goes on to admit that hiding facts would be a violation of PBS rules. “As for the doc: all my producers would know; his PR agency the same as mine, and everyone there has been involved trying to resolve this; my agent at CAA knows. And PBS would know. To do this would be a violation of PBS rules, actually, even for Batman.”

When Lynton responds that “it is tricky because it may get out that you made the change and it comes down to editorial integrity,” Gates responds, “It would embarrass him and compromise our integrity.”

At the time, Affleck was filming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in Detroit and Gates offered to fly there and discuss the issue but wrote, “Once we open the door to censorship, we lose control of the brand.”

Ultimately producers ceded to Affleck’s demand and no mention was made of his slave-owning ancestor. The show broadcast on October 14 last year focused on a Revolutionary War ancestor, an ancestor who was an occult enthusiast and his mother, who marched for civil rights in 1964.

[Affleck was probably worried about reparations activists getting into his deep pockets. As for the distinguished historian Henry Louis Gates, remember when he raised a king-hell stink about some cop demanding his ID while investigating a burglary call at his home? Wasn’t too worried about negative publicity then, was he? Of course, that was just a no’count flatfoot, not a “megastar.” — PW]

Christians Are Being Systematically Purged From the U.S. Military

If you are a Bible-believing Christian, there is no place for you in Barack Obama’s version of the U.S. military.

Christian service members all over the nation are being disciplined for reading their Bibles, talking about their faith publicly and encouraging others to live a moral lifestyle.

And just saying the name of “Jesus” at the wrong place or the wrong time while serving in the military is enough to spark a national controversy. We live at a time when political correctness in America is wildly out of control, and thanks to Obama the U.S. military has become one of the most politically correct institutions in our society. Things have gotten so bad that dozens of top officers that did not agree with Obama’s views have been forced out of the military in recent years. The U.S. military is being transformed into an overtly anti-Christian institution, and for those of us that are Christians that is a very chilling development.

Perhaps you think that the title of this article is a bit of an exaggeration.

Perhaps you think that there is no way things could have gotten that bad.

Well, I grew up as a military kid. In those days, the U.S. military was actually quite welcoming to Christians. But now things have completely and totally changed.

For example, just the other day the Washington Times reported that large numbers of Christians are either leaving the military or never joining in the first place because of the “hostile work environment” that currently exists…

CIA Killer Makes Deathbed Confession: He Assassinated Marilyn Monroe

Normand Hodges made the confession during during his stay at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He is dying from an unspecified illness, according to a report posted by World News Daily Report on March 25 and picked up by the Inquisitr on Friday.

Hodges worked for the CIA for 41 years and had a high-level security clearance. He specialized in assassinations of people the government said posed a threat to national security.

Hodges allegedly killed 37 people between 1959 and 1972. He was trained as a sniper and a martial arts expert. He has experience in killing targets with explosives and poisons.

He was part of a cell of five members who carried out political assassinations in the United States. Most victims were political activists, journalists, artists, scientists and union leaders.

“We had evidence that Marilyn Monroe had not only slept with Kennedy, but also with Fidel Castro,” Hodges told World News Daily Report. “My commanding officer, Jimmy Hayworth, told me that she had to die, and that it had to look like a suicide or an overdose. I had never killed a woman before, but I obeyed orders… I did it for America! She could have transmitted strategic information to the communists, and we couldn’t allow that! She had to die! I just did what I had to do!”

Hillary Clinton is Grooming a Former Goldman Banker to Become America’s Next Treasury Secretary

For years on end, many wondered how it is possible that Gary Gensler allowed Wall Street firms to manipulate, rig, and otherwise abuse the US commodity market which he, as head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission from 2009 until 2014, was supposed to regulate.

Some, such as this website, suggested that what Gensler was doing was simply protecting his former colleagues from civil or criminal investigation and prosecution. After all Gensler is far better known for not only having worked at Goldman Sachs for 18 years most recently as co-head of finance, prior to joining the CFTC, but for becoming the youngest ever Goldman partner, at the tender age of 30.

Neutering the Constitution

We have heard how the Occupant has been fighting every attempt by Congress to vote on whatever nuclear arms deal is made with the insane Mullahs in Iran. Captain Tee-Time is not used to being accountable to anyone, but now Senate is proposing legislation that some experts are warning rewrites the treaty provision of the Constitution.

Under the Constitution, the president has the power to negotiate international treaties, with the requirement that two-thirds of the Senate concur for any treaty to be ratified. Such a supermajority (67 votes) was designed by the nation’s Founders to prevent one person or a single body, from wielding dangerous levels of power.

We’ve heard how Senator Bob Corker has proposed a bill that basically demands Obama abide by the Constitution on this Iranian agreement. However, today we find out that isn’t the case at all. The bill he is pushing will actually make Obama’s power grab easier!

Under the proposed legislation, Congress will review the president’s deal with Iran and can reject it with a 6-vote margin. But Obama can turn around and veto that, which would then require a 67-vote total to overturn his veto. This is completely contrary to the way the Constitution set things up.

Today’s Most-Wanted Domestic Terrorists

By Chris Boyette

On the morning of April 19, 1995, a man parked a rental truck packed with explosives in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. At 9:02 a.m., the explosives detonated, killing 168 people, including 19 children.

This wasn’t the work of a foreign terrorist group. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, former U.S. Army soldiers, were convicted of the attack. McVeigh was executed in 2001, and Nichols is serving a life sentence.

Twenty years later, domestic terror threats range from white supremacists to eco-terrorists to anti-government extremists and radical separatist groups, according to the FBI.

The FBI’s goal, of course, is to prevent “homegrown attacks” before they happen. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible. When acts of domestic terror do occur, the FBI investigates and tries to catch those responsible. From McVeigh and Nichols to Eric Rudolph to Ted Kaczynski, the FBI is often successful, but every once in a while, the suspects get away.

These are the FBI’s most-wanted domestic terrorist fugitives:

[There follows a list of cases so cold as to be frigid. With the exception of a decade-old eco-loonie arson cell, all of these people have been in the wind for at least thirty years. — PW]

Video: Walmart ‘Plumbing’ Issue Related to DHS Underground Tunnel Network: “This is a Very Real Situation”

There’s been much speculation about the recent closures of Walmart stores around the country. Walmart claims the their stores, closed almost simultaneously in different cities, is a result of plumbing issues. But many employees and customers suspect that something else is going on, though no one, including store managers, has any idea what that might be.

Several theories have popped up, with some claiming that it is an economic issue and Walmart may have shut those stores down because of lackluster sales, but they don’t want to announce falling retail sales so as to avoid a hit to their stock price…

But a new theory brought forth by researcher and Youtube commentator Daboo777suggests that Walmart might be working directly with the Department of Homeland Security and the so-called plumbing issues give them the pretext to bring in heavy machinery without having to explain the specific reasons for doing so with an overly curious public.

But what would this heavy machinery be for?

According to one theory, Walmart is working in conjunction with DHS to expand the government’s underground tunneling system and is integrating it with a larger national emergency response network designed to move supplies and people during a crisis:

What Does Medicaid Have to Do With Kline’s HR 5 and Alexander’s Reauthorization of Esea?

Legislation Source for all referenced pages

Kline’s HR 5 and Senator Alexander’s Reauthorization of ESEA set up MEDICAID BILLING in schools for social, emotional, and behavioral standards using mental health DSM Codes (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders.) This opens the doors of the school for outside mental health providers, ie. psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, and social workers to access your children. The expansion of Common Core into the area of attitudes, values, beliefs, and dispositions creates a smorgasbord of disabilities shifting education into mental health not academics. In order for school districts to bill MEDICAID for mental health services, a school must apply for a Provider 50 license from the Department of Public Welfare, DPW.

Kline’s HR 5 and Alexander’s ESEA set up this agenda legislated for our schools with the expansion of Common Core into these psychological, non-academic areas using Title I for “at-risk” children and IDEA, Individuals With Disabilities Education Act, for children not meeting Common Core non-academic standards of attitudes, values, beliefs, and dispositions…

  • Psychological and psychiatric techniques will be employed to change the student’s psyche and personality to government qualities and these interventions are included in both bills: “Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Response to Intervention (RTI), Multitiered System of Supports, Functional Behavioral Assessment, Specialized Instructional Support Services,” with all techniques researched, validated and proven to change the values, attitudes, beliefs, and dispositions of your children toward Common Core attitudes, values, beliefs, and dispositions. Boy Aged Thirteen Becomes One of UK’s Youngest Murderers as He is Jailed for Killing Woman, 47, After Stamping on Her Face So Hard it Left a Footprint on Her Cheek

Petri Kurti, 12, has been jailed for the murder of Glynis Bensley (pictured) after jumping her in the street and kicking her in the face in Smethwick, West Midlands, last September.

A boy of 13 has become one of the UK’s youngest murderers after he was jailed for killing a woman he had just mugged by stamping on her face so hard it left a footprint on her cheek.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the horrendous moment Petri Kurti murdered 47-year-old Glynis Bensley before he fled to a nearby park in Smethwick, West Midlands and boasted about the savage attack.

The schoolboy, who can be named after a judge lifted a reporting restriction order, was jailed for a minimum of 12 years today and will be on licence for life.

France: 100 Million Euros Against Racism and Anti-Semitism

Valls, strong measures against racist slander, heated debate

(ANSAmed) — PARIS, APRIL 17 — France intends to invest 100 million euros in the fight against racism and anti-Semitism, said French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls announcing an ad hoc plan to tackle violence and slander. France is witnessing an increase in anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic attacks in the wake of the terrorist attacks against Charlie Hebdo and the Hyper Cacher in Porte de Vincennes. The plan includes a total of 40 measures encompassing legal provisions, education and the web. Racism and anti-Semitism will become “aggravating circumstances” in case of illegal acts. However, associations upholding freedom of expression strongly oppose the plan. The Socialist goverment of French president François Hollande ruled that racist and anti-Semitic statements shall be repressed like any other crime.

Up to now such acts were examined within the framework of press-freedom legislation, which, according to French newspapaper Libération “is much slower and technical in its application compared to the penal code”.

However, in the aftermath of January’s terrorist attacks, the government is bent on proving that those inciting violence may not hide behind the excuse of freedom of expression. Many anti-racism organisations (Sos Racisme, Ligue des droits de l’Homme) as well as numerous jurists, specialised in press freedom, are opposed to the plan and caution that it may end up multiplying express trials, whereas these matters need careful scrutiny.

“Paying homage to Charlie Hebdo strenghtening censure is a total aberration” wrote Law Professor Anne-Marie Le Pourhiet on Le Figaro Friday.

Goebbels’ Estate Sues Random House for Diary Royalties

The estate of Adolf Hitler’s propaganda chief, Joseph Goebbels, is suing a publisher for royalties for the use of extracts from his diaries.

A biography of Goebbels published by Random House quotes extensively from Goebbels’ diaries, which are copyrighted until the end of this year.

Random House initially agreed to pay a fee, but later said it was wrong to pay the estate of a Nazi war criminal.

Other publishers have paid royalties to use extracts from the diaries.

The biography was first published in German in 2010, and is due to come out in English in May.

Cordula Schacht, whose father was a minister in the Nazi regime, owns the copyright to Goebbels’ diaries.

Greece: Minister: “We Have Alternatives Also Without a Deal”

Athens to receive an advance payment from Moscow for pipeline

(ANSAmed) — ATHENS, APRIL 14 — Greek Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Panagiotis Lafazanis stressed that while the negotiations with the creditors are a difficult and critical phase, not coming to an agreement would not spell the end for Greece. Lafazanis, as To Vima online reported, told the Parapolitika radio station that Greece has alternatives, should an agreement not be reached at the Eurogroup on the 24th of April. He also claimed that Europe would face greater problems than Greece. Additionally, Lafazanis revealed that Moscow would be making an advance payment for the construction of a natural gas pipeline. Greece would pay Russia back from the profits generated after 2019. Lafazanis estimated that the construction of the pipeline will augment Greece’s international status as an energy hub. The deal for the construction of the ambitious pipeline is expected to be signed next week, with the Minister underlining that the cost of natural gas will further drop by 2019.

Italy: MPS’s Profumo Says Nomura Must Pay for Damages

Derivatives trade with Japanese bank cost Italian bank

(ANSA) — Milan, April 16 — Italian bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) said Thursday that damages from a derivatives trade should be paid by the Japanese bank Nomura involved in the transaction.

“If today there is anyone who needs to be concerned, it is Normura,” said Alessandro Profumo.

“Nomura must pay the damages” from the deal known as Alexandria.

Former executives of MPS and Nomura bank entered into a contract in July 2009 involving the restructuring of a complicated financial derivative dubbed Alexandria.

Investigations since then have focused on the role former bank executives may have played in hiding losses.

MPS was named last year by the European Central Bank after a health check that showed a 2.1 billion euro capital gap which the Siena bank is now trying to fill.

Italy: Supergrass to ‘Disclose Names’ of Mafia-Tainted Politicians

Carmelo D’Amico says Alfano, Schifani ‘elected with Mafia votes’

(ANSA) Palermo, April 17 — Mafia supergrass Carmelo D’Amico pledged Friday to “tell everything” about politicians allegedly linked to Cosa Nostra and claimed Interior Minister Angelino Alfano and former Senate Speaker Renato Schifani were elected in deals with the Mob.

“Before now I was too frightened to tell everything,” D’Amico told the Palermo Assize court, “I am afraid for myself and my family, but if you protect me, I will tell everything”.

“The names that I will give today are of people capable of anything, they can go inside prisons and kill simulating suicides and natural deaths,” the Messina mobster turned State’s evidence said at a trial of politicians who allegedly arranged negotiations between the State and the Mafia in the 1990s.

“They direct politics and they will try to get rid of me as they wanted to do with you, Dr di Matteo,” D’Amico told Prosecutor Nino Di Matteo.

D’Amico, who has admitted carrying out some 30 murders for Cosa Nostra, has said he turned state’s evidence in response to an appeal by Pope Francis to mafiosi to abandon crime.

“Among the politicians who have made agreements with Cosa Nostra there are also Angelino Alfano and Renato Schifani, who were elected with votes of the Mafia,” he said.

“Alfano was sponsored by the Mafia but then turned his back on them. Forza Italia was born because the secret services, (Totò) Riina and (Bernardo) Provenzano wanted it to govern Italy, (Silvio) Berlusconi was just a pawn of (Marcello) Dell’Utri, Riina, Provenzano and the (secret) Services”.

D’Amico also claimed late statesman Giulio Andreotti “and the secret services” were “behind” Mafia bombs that killed anti-Mafia magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino in 1992.

Pole Challenges Anti-Immigration UK Politician to a Duel

Farage wants Britain to leave the European Union

(ANSA/AP) — LONDON — An aristocratic Pole has challenged an anti-immigration British politician to a duel. Jan Zylinski, who calls himself a prince, says he’s tired of U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage criticizing eastern European migrants.

In a video posted online Sunday, Zylinski, who lives in London, urged Farage to meet him in Hyde Park to resolve the matter “in a way that an 18th-century Polish aristocrat and an English gentleman would traditionally do.” He said: “I’m offering a duel, if you agree” — but added he would settle for a “duel of words.” Poland’s aristocracy was abolished by the former communist regime, but many people from aristocratic families still use their titles.

UKIP wants Britain to leave the European Union and deny EU citizens the right to live in the U.K.

Spanish tax authorities carried out new searches Friday of the Madrid offices of former IMF chief Rodrigo Rato in a money-laundering probe as the country asked if he had been made a scapegoat in the ruling Popular Party’s anti-corruption drive.

Rato is already being investigated for alleged fraud during his time as chief executive at Bankia, a Spanish bank which needed to be bailed out by the government.

The 66-year-old told El Pais newspaper that he was “actively cooperating with investigators” in the new investigation…

Suicide Bomb Backer Imprisoned Despite Sentence End

The man convicted of funding the Stockholm suicide bomber has launched a bid for freedom, as he awaits a decision on his deportation, The Herald reports

Nasserdine Menni has served his sentence, in a Scottish prison, but is still held, awaiting deportation to Algeria.

He came to the UK as an asylum seeker, fleeing Algeria, where Amnesty International have reported human rights abuses.

Scottish paper The Herald reports that Menni has begun a case to stop his deportation. He also wants to be freed while the Home Office decides whether to send him to Algeria.

Nasserdine Menni has served three years for supporting suicide bomber Taimour Abdulwahab with almost £6,000.

In December 2010 Abdulwahab blew himself up just off a busy shopping street in the Swedish capital, killing no one but himself.

The Herald reports Nasserdine Menni may be caught in a legal limbo, since he cannot be deported to Algeria, because of fears of torture; but he cannot be released over fears he could be a security risk.

UK: Why Do Police Want to Hide the Secrets of Little Elsie’s Savage Unsolved Murder for 95 Years… and is it Really Linked to the Yorkshire Ripper?

The case files relating to the murder of 14-year-old Elsie Frost in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in 1965, which are in the National archive in Kew, have been sealed until 2060.

Even half a century on, Elsie Frost’s family is haunted by memories of the day she was murdered. Again and again their minds are drawn back to thoughts of the pretty 14-year-old as she was on October 9, 1965.

One minute she was walking happily alongside a canal towpath in her bright red jacket, floral skirt and new shoes. The next, school prefect Elsie was crawling in the mud, bleeding from stab wounds to her back and head.

The horrific events that Saturday afternoon in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, left scars on the close-knit community: Elsie’s parents, railway worker Arthur and his wife Edith, died without seeing anyone brought to justice for their youngest daughter’s murder, an innocent man had his reputation destroyed while neighbours and friends were left doubting each other for decades.

Now, curiously, a decision has been taken by someone, somewhere deep in the British justice system, to seal until 2060 the case files relating to Elsie’s murder which are at the National Archives in Kew.

Bloody Battle for Iraq Develops Into a War on Two Fronts

The one skill that almost every Iraqi civilian learns is how to flee quickly.

This week, it was the turn of the people of Ramadi to escape in their thousands as gunmen from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) advanced into their city.

Along the Euphrates Valley and across the desert of Anbar province, Isil fighters are still on the march. This is where they launched their new assault on Ramadi, a provincial capital 100 miles west of Baghdad.

On the other front, which slices across the Tigris Valley, the terrorists have been forced on to the defensive. A counter-attack by the Baghdad government has expelled Isil from all but a few pockets of Saddam Hussein’s home city of Tikrit.

Turkey Faces Global Disgust at Its Refusal to Admit Armenian Genocide

[WARNING: disturbing Content.]

Genocide of the Christians: The blood-soaked depravity exceeded even today’s atrocities by Islamic State — now, 100 years on Turkey faces global disgust at its refusal to admit butchering over a MILLION Armenians

In the sprawling, beleaguered Ottoman Empire the ruling Turks turned their hatred on the 2 million men, women and children of Armenian extraction with incredible barbarity…

She was in bed when the soldiers came in the middle of the night and dragged her father out of the family home in Diyarbakir, a city in eastern Turkey.

The last thing little Aghavni (her name means ‘dove’ in her native Armenian) heard as she cowered in her room was his shout of defiance: ‘I was born a Christian and I will die a Christian.’

Not until first light did Aghavni dare to creep downstairs on that morning 100 years ago. ‘I saw an object sticking through the front door,’ she later remembered. ‘I pushed it open and there lay two horseshoes nailed to two feet.

‘My eyes followed up to the blood-covered ankles, the disjointed knees, the mound of blood where the genitals had been, to a long laceration through the abdomen to the chest.

‘I came to the hands, which were nailed horizontally on a board with big spikes of iron, like a cross. The shoulders were remarkably clean and white, but there was no head.

‘This was lying on the steps, propped up by the nose. I recognised the neatly trimmed beard along the cheekbones. It was my father.’

The year was 1915. In the sprawling, beleaguered Ottoman Empire — an ally of the German Kaiser in the world war that had engulfed Europe and parts of Asia for nine months — the ruling Turks had turned their hatred on the 2 million men, women and children of Armenian extraction who lived within their borders.

The Armenians — who lived on the eastern edge of the empire ruled from Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) — were Christians and had been since the year 301, making theirs the first nation officially to adopt Christianity, even before Rome.

But here, among the Islamic Turks, they had long been second-class citizens, a persecuted minority. Now, as power in the land was seized by a junta of nationalist officers known as the Young Turks, persecution turned to unbridled savagery.

Over the next six months, there was to be a systematic uprooting and slaughter of perhaps as many as 1.5 million Armenians — on the grounds that they were infidels, racially inferior ‘dogs’ and traitors who were siding with Russia against Turkey.

Those who weren’t put to death on the spot, their faith cruelly mocked — such as Aghavni’s father, a mild-mannered, cultivated spice merchant who spoke five languages — were hounded in columns, eastwards, into the deserts of Syria and Iraq to die.

Their remains are long turned to dust, but the controversy that surrounds those terrible events is as alive as ever…

Unleashed on the Armenians, Turkish policemen and soldiers ransacked Christian churches and handed bishops and priests over to the mob.

Community leaders such as doctors and teachers were hanged in batches on gallows in town squares. An American missionary reported seeing men tied together with their heads sticking through the rungs of a ladder to be lopped off with swords.

Torture was commonplace, Morgenthau maintained as he studied the evidence. ‘They would pull out eyebrows and beards almost hair by hair, extract fingernails and toenails, apply red-hot irons and tear off flesh with pincers, then pour boiled butter into the wounds.’

Crucifixion was treated as a sport. ‘As the sufferer writhes in his agony, they would cry: “Now let your Christ come and help you”.’

U.N. Ambassador Power Says U.S. ‘Chipping Away’ At ISIS

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Friday morning defended the Obama administration’s strategy in combating ISIS, telling CNN’s Chris Cuomo that the United States is “chipping away” at the terror group.

“We’re in a much stronger position than we were a year ago,” Samantha Power said on “New Day.” “We’re chipping away.”

Her comments come as ISIS fighters continue to besiege Ramadi amid growing worries that the Iraqi city, which lies just 70 miles west of Baghdad, could fall.

Some Republicans are pointing to the situation in Ramadi to express criticism that U.S. officials are minimizing setbacks.

Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain charged that Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey had downplayed the likely fall of Ramadi by describing it on Thursday as “not symbolic in any way,” among other points.

“Disregarding the strategic importance of Ramadi is a denial of reality,” McCain said in a statement.

But despite ISIS’s advances in the key city, Power maintained that the military strategy to combat ISIS, also known as ISIL, is working.

“If you look in Iraq at the population centers that ISIL controlled when this campaign started back in July, when the President ordered trainers and advisers to go, ISIL now controls 25 percent less territory than they did back then,” she said.

ISIS Group Claims Suicide Attack in Afghanistan That Kills at Least 35

KABUL, Afghanistan — A motorcycle-riding suicide bomber attacked a bank branch Saturday in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 35 people in a deadly attack the country’s president said was claimed by the Islamic State group.

The attack marks a major escalation in the country’s fight against an affiliate of the extremist group that now holds a third of Iraq and Syria in its self-declared caliphate. It also comes as Afghan security forces fight against the Taliban after U.S. and NATO forces ended their combat mission in the country at the start of the year, yet another challenge for the war-ravaged nation.

The attack in Jalalabad, capital of eastern Nangarhar province, targeted a crowd of soldiers and civilians gathered outside the bank to receive their monthly salaries.

ISIS Militant Bomber on Motorbike Kills 33 at Bank in Afghanistan

The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack. The explosion killed at least 33 people and injured more than 100 others, public health spokesman Najibullah Kamawal said.

The claim appears to be the first in Afghanistan by ISIS, CNN’s Nick Paton Walsh said. It was made by an offshoot called ISIS Wilayat Khorasan.

In a statement, the group said the bomber was named Abu Mohammad and he belonged to their ranks. He was targeting government workers collecting their pay at the bank, the terrorists said.

He detonated his charge at the peak of rush hour on the first day of the week, when the bank would be expected to be crowded.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid distanced his group from attack in a text message to journalists.

“The explosion in Jalalabad doesn’t have anything to do with us and we condemn it,” he said.

ISIS refers to Afghanistan and Pakistan as the province of “Khorasan.”

Chinese Hackers Spied on ASEAN Governments and Companies “For a Decade”

US online security agency denounces senior officials from government and business world and even Indian army involved in cyber-espionage. Telecommunications sector companies also involved. The level of attacks increased in conjunction with the regional summits. For experts this is evidence of espionage network leading to Beijing, even though there is no “smoking gun”.

Bangkok (AsiaNews / Agencies) — For more than a decade professional Chinese hackers have spied on and hacked governments and large companies from ASEAN nations (Association that brings together 10 nations of Southeast Asia), becoming one of the longest and most efficient groups operating in the field.

The charges have been laid by a US based company specializing in network security FireEye Inc.; members of APT30 (the name of the battle group) stepped up their online activity on the eve of summit and high-level diplomatic meetings. 15 companies active in the telecommunications, technology, finance and aviation industry, and some leading sectors of the Indian Army are also involved.

FireEye experts claim to have traced a unit of professional hackers, to the upper echelons of the Chinese military. Although there is no evidence of a direct link with the government of Beijing, there are some indicators that strongly point to a link between the software code and the language used. These elements suggest that the system was developed in China.

Bryce Boland, head of FireEye’s Asia-Pacific technology division, says that “all elements lead to the Chinese government,” although “we just don’t have the smoking gun” that proves Beijing’s involvement.

Since 2005 APT30 distributed malware that then allowed access to the computers of governments and companies in the Southeast Asia and India. To gain access to computers and security systems Chinese hackers used seemingly harmless or legitimate email addresses, as well as messages fluently written in the local language (Thai, etc).

Journalists and large news networks are also among the victims of espionage. Experts have also seen an escalation in attacks to coincide with major regional ASEAN summit in recent years, including Jakarta, Phnom Penh and New Delhi.

Faced with accusations, the Chinese ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense and internet Department have repeatedly denied Chinese government involvement in these attacks; Hua Chunying, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said on the contrary that China “is one of the major victims” of online espionage.

Moreover, already in 2013 China had been classified as “the most dangerous hacker in the world, the biggest threat to the freedom of the Internet”, while its government “supports cybercrimes in exchange for economic and political benefits.” This complaint was not moved by a simple activist, but the number one at Goolge Eric Schmidt who stated that Beijing is “the internet’s most active and enthusiastic filter, the most sophisticated and prolific hacker of foreign companies.” According to experts, China is also the instigator of major cyber-attacks that occurred between 2006 and 2011.

Horrific Murders at Sea — But Islamapologists Don’t Want Me to Report This

by Allen West

What manner of depraved savagery is this? Is this tolerance? Now, let me be very clear, if this story were about Christians throwing Muslims overboard who drowned, there would be a global outrage. But when this was brought up at the recent joint press conference of President Obama and the Italian Prime Minister — little to nothing was said by Obama. Contrast that with the vehement response of “the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” speech at the United Nations. Or Obama’s reaction to a supposed video trailer being the impetus of an Islamic terrorist attack in Benghazi.

I am reminded of the barbaric killing of a wheelchair-confined American Jew named Leon Klinghoffer who was tossed into the Mediterranean Sea by Islamic terrorists from the cruise ship Achilles Lauro. But here was a Christian praying for his life and it was so offensive to these animals that they began to throw Christians into the sea.

Bullies vs. Saints

Alinsky tells his followers to “pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it” and “keep the pressure on with different tactics and actions, and utilize all current events.” A few months ago it was class warfare with the blacks. Now it is same-sex marriages and Christians being demonized while the Republican Party elites abandon traditional marriage.

Following Alinsky’s tactics, in that same time frame Jay Collins, came out as gay at the national basketball championship game. And then Dancing with the Stars featured another gay man with a sad story about being alienated from his father when he came out of the closet and he had the whole audience in tears.

And then there was the story about how young girls are financially ripping off potential adoptive parents and three couples were featured: heterosexual, lesbian and homosexual. All three were given babies at the end with the heterosexuals getting a baby from China. As an adoptive mother myself, my thoughts raced ahead to the confusion the babies of the other two couples will experience as they must explain to classmates why they have two daddies or two mommies — the embodiment of narcissism because with the donation of a sperm to a surrogate in the case of the homosexuals they could have their own baby in the same way the lesbians could have bought a sperm from some college boy eager to make history. Children become nothing but commodities and show pieces in the homosexual community.

And following Alinsky, next will be the bumptious female reporters demonizing male conservative, Constitutionalist Republicans running for President because their opponent will probably be a woman called Hillary Clinton and they’ll be running interference for her. Alinsky Marxists took over the Democrat Party decades ago while left-leaning RINOs were allowed to seize control of the Republican Party and have no shame violating President Reagan’s 11th commandment to not speak ill of a fellow Republican.
