A Look at How Gov. Glenn Youngkin is Banning ‘Critical Race Theory’ In Schools
ARLINGTON, V.a. (7News) — Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is facing a lawsuit from the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press after the Youngkin administration wouldn’t release certain documents on how the Republican governor instructed his departments to carry out his executive orders.
Last week, the Virginia Department of Education decided to release a memo that was being sought in the lawsuit. Some of the information in the memo is public information, but other information was not, until now.
The memo released by the VDOE details a high-level set of instructions to state departments as they implement Youngkin’s flurry of day one executive orders.
In the newly released memo, there is a long list of instructions focused on removing ideas and concepts related to critical race theory in public schools, stemming from the governor’s first executive order.

Adult, Child Killed in Stabbing, 3 Others Injured
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — An adult and a child were killed and three others were injured in a stabbing at a home in Memphis, Tennessee, police said.
First responders found the victims early Saturday and pronounced one adult dead at the scene, Memphis Police tweeted. A child was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead there, police said. Three other victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition, police told news outlets.
The victims identified their attacker as Leaudre Isabell, WMC-TV reported, citing a police affidavit.
Isabell, 23, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder in the case, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had an attorney.

Ahead of Election, DeSantis Approval Nears 60 Percent
Gov. Ron DeSantis’ approval rating reached a new high at 59 percent, according to a poll conducted by the St. Leo University Polling Institute, a three-point increase from the last approval rating poll conducted last fall.
DeSantis’ rating received a boost after the governor took stances on topics like Critical Race Theory, parental rights, and child welfare, receiving support across the state and the nation at large.
The poll shows that more than half of respondents (59 percent) say they approve of the job Governor Ron DeSantis is doing, while 37 percent disapprove. 4 percent responded that they are unsure.

Arizona Judge Dismisses Lawsuits Aimed at Disqualifying Reps. Gosar, Biggs

An Arizona judge has tossed lawsuits that attempted to disqualify Reps. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) and Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) from holding office.
The suits, which also took aim at state Rep. Mark Finchem, a Republican, failed because the U.S. Constitution does not provide for private action to enforce Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury ruled.
The section, known as the Disqualification Clause, says that no person shall hold a federal office if they “have engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the government.
Two groups linked to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a self-described socialist, filed the complaints, claiming that Gosar, Biggs, and Finchem violated the clause because they “helped facilitate” the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol.

Holding signs saying things like “Tell Wells Fargo: Stop Funding Climate Change,” a group of climate activists has revived the era of downtown climate protests in San Francisco Monday morning.
Twenty activists from the Oil & Gas Action Network chained themselves Monday to the historic Wells Fargo stagecoach at Wells Fargo headquarters at 420 Montgomery Street.
A woman named Claire informed SFist of the protest Monday morning, saying that the activists were conducting this action “to protest Wells’ continuing financial support of fossil fuel projects around the world.”
“We’re gonna stay until they arrest us,” Claire said.
The group tweeted that they were protesting today ahead of a Wells Fargo shareholder meeting tomorrow, and one of their signs says “Pass Shareholder Res. #9,” which must have to do with fossil fuel investment and climate change.
That same sign has the unfortunate misspelling, “Your ending all life.”

Grove City College Rejects ‘Wokeness, ‘ CRT in New Report
(RNS) — Grove City College insists it’s not “going woke.” A new report from the conservative Christian college in Pennsylvania denounced school-sponsored courses and trainings they say promoted “CRT concepts” and characterized inviting historian Jemar Tisby to speak at a 2020 chapel service as a “mistake.”
“Grove City College has not changed,” a committee composed largely of Grove City board members said in the report released last week. “It remains a Christ-centered, conservative institution.”
The report, a product of the committee’s assignment to ascertain any “mission drift” at the college, recommends re-adding the word “conservative” to the school’s mission statement after it was removed in 2021 and lists “remedial actions” to curb the promotion of critical race theory at the school. These actions include replacing an education course accused of promoting “pop-CRT,” rebranding the school’s Office of Multicultural Education and Initiatives and exercising increased scrutiny of guest speakers and student trainings.

Left-Wing Group Demands Apple Preemptively Nuke TRUTH Social
A left-wing government watchdog group with a dubious history is demanding Apple engage in mass preemptive censorship with the removal of a free-speech-branded alternative to Twitter from its app store.

Police: Woman Stabbed Husband to Death After Argument Over Coffee
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee woman is facing murder charges after police said she stabbed her husband to death after an argument over coffee.
Police told WHBQ they were called to a Memphis home on April 24, where they found a man who had been stabbed multiple times.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told police he and his wife had gotten into an argument over the taste of his coffee, after which his wife went to the laundry room and tried to drink bleach, WHBQ reported.
Police said that when the victim tried to stop his wife from hurting herself, she grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him multiple times, according to the affidavit obtained by WHBQ.
The victim died at the hospital.
Police arrested the man’s wife, Sheila Downey, when she returned home. She allegedly told police that after arguing with her husband, she went for a drive and then returned, WHBQ reported.
Downey is being held without bond on first-degree murder charges, according to records from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Office Releases All Files Relating to Ongoing Rust Movie Investigation
The Santa Fe Sheriff’s office has released all files relating to the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of movie Rust.
The files contain all evidence in the case including camera footage from detectives, incident reports, crime scene photos and witness interviews collected during the investigation.
Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said various components of the investigation “remain outstanding” including FBI firearm and ballistic forensics as well as analysis of actor Alec Baldwin’s phone data.
It comes after a report into the incident found the film’s production company “knew that firearm safety procedures were not being followed on set” and “demonstrated plain indifference to employee safety”.
Rust Movie Productions was fined 136,793 US dollars (£104,810), the maximum allowable by state law in New Mexico, following a six-month investigation by the state’s environment department.
“Today the sheriff’s office is releasing all files associated with our ongoing investigation,” said Mr Mendoza on Monday.
“The files are all related to the Rust movie set investigation and include lapel/dash camera footage from deputies and detectives, incident reports, crime scene photos, examination reports, witness interviews, set video and staff photos collected throughout the course of this investigation.

Twitter, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk, for $54.20 per share in cash in a transaction valued at approximately $44 billion. Upon completion of the transaction, Twitter will become a privately held company.
Under the terms of the agreement, Twitter stockholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter common stock that they own upon closing of the proposed transaction. US Food Production Threatened by Mysterious Fires in Meat Plants
The fact is, however, that the basic needs of the population are massively threatened in some places by these attacks on infrastructure while authorities downplay the incidents.
Throughout the past year, but especially since February 2022, a series of devastating fires in the United States and Canada have destroyed or severely damaged food processing plants — mostly meat plants (slaughterhouses, hog and poultry farms), but also silage and large-scale grain production plants. As a result, there could be food shortages and price increases in many areas.

The damage is catastrophic: an employee of an affected factory in Texas estimates that 50 to 100 truckloads of onions were destroyed there alone. A factory in Oregon was completely destroyed by a boiler explosion and all 244 employees had to be laid off. A fire in California had to evacuate 2,700 people around the affected factory.

“Totally Unfair” — Wheat Farmers Blast Trudeau Government Over Carbon Tax
Farmers are being “unfairly burdened” by the Trudeau government’s carbon tax, the head of a major agricultural industry group says.
True North spoke to Western Canadian Wheat Growers president Gunter Jochum, who blasted the tax for forcing farmers — as primary producers of goods — into a corner.
“Absolutely we are unfairly targeted because we as a primary producer have no way of dealing with the carbon tax,” said Jochum. “It is a pure cost to us, and there isn’t really a way for us to become more efficient.”

Feds Refuse to Disclose Justification for Emergencies Act
The Trudeau government is refusing to reveal what information it used to justify invoking the Emergencies Act to crack down on peaceful Freedom Convoy protests in Ottawa in February.
According to court documents obtained by the Globe and Mail, the government is citing “cabinet confidentiality” in its response to legal changes brought on by four legal organizations.
The Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association are among the groups who have taken the government to court. The Alberta government is also seeking to join the case as an intervenor.

Ottawa Police Ban “Vehicle-Based” Protests, Including Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Convoy
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has announced that due to the Freedom Convoy, they will now bar “vehicle-based or supported protests” from the downtown core, including a motorcycle convoy heading to the city this weekend to celebrate freedom.
The event dubbed “Rolling Thunder” is estimated to have attracted between 500 and 1000 people, who are set to arrive in the nation’s capital on Friday and leave Sunday. The OPS announcement means that rally participants will now be barred from using their vehicles downtown.
Police will be creating “vehicle exclusion zones” which covers a large portion of the city’s downtown core.

Retribution for COVID Defiance? Edmonton-Area Diner/Garden Centre Banned From Opening Greenhouse
Monica and John Oshvalda have been running a greenhouse, diner and a facility that hosts a weekly cowboy church for years on their land west of Edmonton, Alberta.

An investigation reveals that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has flown over 50,000 km in the past two months.

Walmart Says Adios to Plastic, But Only Plastic Bags
Last Friday, there was something noticeably different about Walmart stores in Canada: there were no plastic bags to be found.
Alas, this had nothing to do with supply chain shortages or a hiccup in logistics — after all, nobody does logistics better than Walmart.

Four People Have Been Stabbed to Death in a House in South-East London.
Officers forced their way into a home in Delaford Road, Bermondsey, at about 01:40 BST following a call from neighbours about a disturbance.
A man and a woman aged in their mid-60s and two women, in their 30s and 40s respectively, were all pronounced dead at the scene by emergency workers.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody, the Met Police said.
It is thought that all five people were known to each other.
The niece of one of the women who died paid tribute to her aunt and said she “didn’t deserve this”.

France: Paris Police Shoot Dead Two During Night of Macron Reelection Protests
Paris police shot dead two people in a car that was driving straight at them overnight Sunday, as the French capital erupted into violent protests following the reelection of President Emmanuel Macron, officials said.
The car was spotted driving the wrong way by authorities near the Pont Neuf in the heart of Paris, which had been barricaded off in a security perimeter ahead of the divisive election.
When the driver parked, “police approached to control the individuals present in the vehicle by pointing automatic weapons at him,” a witness told Le Figaro newspaper.
“The driver rushed off towards the police at full speed. The police fired immediately,” the witness said.

France: Elderly Woman Brutally Attacked While Feeding Birds in Park
An elderly woman is recovering from serious injuries she sustained when a male suspect attacked her in a park in France as she fed birds this week, according to reports.

German FM in Self-Destruction Mode
Germany as well as the EU will completely stop its oil imports from Russia by the end of this year, according to the Green politician. “That’s why I’m saying here clearly and unequivocally: yes, Germany is also getting out of Russian energy imports completely.”
She continued: “We will halve oil by the summer and be at zero by the end of the year, and then gas will follow, in a joint European roadmap, because our joint exit, the complete exit with the European Union, is our joint strength.”
But Germany in particular has considerable problems implementing the boycott announcements because the German economy is even more dependent on Russian energy supplies than other economies. The EU is thus hardly united on the issue. In the first quarter of 2020, Russian supplies accounted for 40 percent of German gas imports. The economy in particular is warning of the massive consequences of a hasty turn away from Russian deliveries.

Germany Secretly Wants a Russian Victory in Ukraine, Argues Prominent Professor
Germany is secretly rooting for Vladimir Putin, and wants a quick end to the war so that business as usual can be resumed with Russia, Belgian historian Prof. David Engels told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) in an interview.
Prof. Engels believes that the reasons for Germany’s continuing fascination with Russia are the German left and right’s inherent anti-Americanism, commitment to pacifism and dependence on Russian gas and oil.
Both Germany and France are dragging their feet on arming Ukraine because they do not see that being in their narrow interests within the EU.
Berlin and Brussels are also concerned that a genuinely free Ukraine could be joined by a free Belarus and enable Poland and the Baltic states to create an Eastern European axis which would change the geopolitics of Europe in a way that has not been seen since the partition of Poland in the 18th century.

Is Hungary Being Targeted With Bomb Threats Over Its Refusal to Ship Arms to Ukraine?
A recent wave of bomb threats against Hungary’s shopping malls could be part of a hybrid warfare campaign aimed at countries who do not want to ship weapons to Ukraine, József Horvath, security policy expert at Hungarian think-tank Center for Basic Rights, told daily Magyar Nemzet in an interview.
Horvath said the threats were clearly coordinated and were aimed at creating confusion or throw into question public safety in general.
“As there is a war in our immediate vicinity, one possibility is that countries which are unwilling to take an active part in the war are being punished with methods of hybrid warfare,” Horvath said. “Let us not forget that there have also been bomb threats in Serbia in recent days.”

(ANSA) — ROME, APR 20 — A prisoner was abducted, threatened with a knife, tied up and raped by two fellow inmates at Rome’s Regina Coeli jail, prison guards union SAPPE said on Wednesday.
The union said the victim had been taken to hospital with serious injuries and said change to the way jails were being managed and personnel shortages were factors that made this “shameful, horrifying episode” possible.

Janez Jansa: Slovenia Votes Out Pro-Trump Populist
Slovenia’s populist Prime Minister Janez Jansa has suffered a heavy defeat in parliamentary elections by a left-leaning party formed only in January.
Mr Jansa’s Slovenian Democratic party took about 24% of the vote, compared to 34.5% for the Freedom Movement party led by former businessman Robert Golob.
The poll was marked by allegations that Mr Jansa has undermined the rule of law in the former Yugoslav state.
Mr Golob said his win will enable him to lead his country “back to freedom”.
An outspoken supporter of former US President Donald Trump, Mr Jansa was seeking a fourth term as prime minister and stood on a platform of “stability”.
But his critics allege that the 63-year-old, who came to prominence as a post-communist reformer, has spent several years eroding democratic standards and restricting press freedom.
He engaged in lengthy rows with the EU over his moves to cut funding for the national news agency and has sought to delay the appointment of prosecutors to the bloc’s new anti-corruption body.
Mr Golob is a political newcomer who entered politics in January after being removed as chairman of his energy investment firm.

Latest News in the Russia-Ukraine War
Ukraine: U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Russia’s military capabilities should be weakened so “it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine.” Mr. Austin added that he believed Ukrainians could win the war with the right equipment and support, as the conflict entered its third month.
The U.S. will return an embassy presence to Ukraine and increase military support for the country, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Mr. Austin told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. President Biden plans to nominate Bridget Brink, a career diplomat, to serve as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine.
The U.S. will provide Ukraine with $322 million in foreign military assistance to allow Kyiv to buy needed weapons, part of a package of $713 million in U.S. military assistance for more than a dozen countries in the region.
Russian missiles struck railroad targets in central Ukraine.
Russia: Authorities extended a state of alert in three Russian regions bordering Ukraine, including Bryansk, where state media said large fires broke out at fuel-storage facilities and at a nearby military fuel depot.
Moscow will be the first stop this week for U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, who will then visit Kyiv. Ukraine has asked Mr. Guterres to guarantee a corridor for civilians to leave Mariupol.

Hindu Party in India Wants to Reject Muslims Name of Villages as a Symbol of Slavery
Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta wants Muslim names of 40 villages in city changed to revert the original Hindu names.
Shruti Solanki | HENB | New Delhi April 25, 2022:: Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta, who is leading his party’s ‘bulldozer’ campaign against encroachment by “Rohingyas and Bangladeshis”, on Saturday announced his plan for changing Muslim names of 40 villages in the national capital to revert those names into its original Hindu roots.
In a press conference here, Gupta said that the party will send a proposal to Kejriwal government for changing the names of 40 villages in the city that symbolise a period of “slavery”. “Nobody wants to live with a mindset of slavery that these names denote. I have received requests from several villagers for changing names of their villages,” he said.
BJP-ruled South MCD passed a resolution to change the name of village Mohammadpur to Madhavpuram but Delhi government is sitting over it and not approving it, he claimed. “Local BJP councillor Bhagat Singh Tokas got a resolution passed by the corporation and had the town planning department send a letter signed by all villagers to the Delhi government’s Urban Development department on December 9 last year,” Gupta said.
No immediate reaction was available from Delhi government on Gupta’s claim. Gupta said that apart from Mohammadpur village, there are 40 other such villages whose names villagers want changed. “These 40 villages include Humayunpur, Yusuf Sarai, Masoodpur, Zamroodpur, Begumpur, Saidul Ajab, Fatehpur Beri, Hauz Khas, and Sheikh Sarai to name a few,” he said.
He said political parties playing “appeasement” politics have been “unmasked” because their vote bank is now being “bulldozed”. Last Wednesday, BJP-ruled North MCD sent bulldozers to remove encroachment in Jahangirpuri area, a day after Delhi BJP president wrote to its mayor asking for the demolition of “illegal structures”.
Violence and arson gripped Jahangirpuri last Saturday, when Hindus and Muslims pelted stoned and clashed with each other during a Hanuman Jayanti procession. Gupta has also written letters to mayors of party-ruled South and East MCD to identify and remove encroachment by Rohingyas, Bangladeshis, and “anti-social elements” in their areas.
Gupta said that the entire opposition, including AAP and Congress, are furious over bulldozing of encroachments in Jahangirpuri. “Entire opposition is backing rioters in Jahangirpuri because the ‘bulldozer of justice’ is doing its work. In Rajasthan, the Congress government bulldozed a 300-year-old Shiva temple, yet the double-standard political parties are silent,” Gupta said.
Though this initiative of BJP to rename many villages in and around Delhi earns a wide support from its Hindutva base line; opposition parties say it, ‘nothing but a political stunt’.

Somali Migrant Who Screamed ‘Allahu Akbar’ While Stabbing 3 German Women to Death Will Avoid Prison

SCOTUS to Hear Case of High School Football Coach Fired for Praying on the Field
