Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/4/2019

The political group LaRouchePAC has claimed responsibility for the woman who trolled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Woke) at a town hall meeting by calling for the eating of babies to save the climate. The late Lyndon LaRouche was a fringe political actor who ran for president at least eight times.

In other news, bookies are laying odds that the Swedish teenage climate warrior Greta Thunberg will win the next Nobel Peace Prize.

This is What a Recession Looks Like — Here Are 12 Big Companies That Are Conducting Major Layoffs

Do you remember what it was like in 2008 when it literally felt like no job was truly safe? It was a terrible time, and many fear that we could soon be facing a similar scenario. In recent days, big companies all across America have been laying off workers at a frightening pace. As economic activity has slowed down, a lot of firms are feeling compelled to slash their payrolls, and if a deep recession is ahead of us then what we have seen so far could be just the tip of the iceberg. In 2008 and 2009, millions of Americans lost their jobs very rapidly, and it could very easily happen again.

As I have been conducting research over the past few days, I have been struck by the stunning number of layoff announcements that are suddenly popping up in the news. Here are 12 of the most prominent examples…

#1 HP Inc: “U.S. personal computer maker HP Inc said on Thursday it will cut up to 16% of its workforce as part of a restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs. The company will cut about 7,000 to 9,000 jobs through a combination of employee exits and voluntary early retirement, it said in a statement.”

U.S. Adds 136,000 Jobs in September, Unemployment Rate Hits 50-Year Low

The numbers: The economy added 136,000 new jobs in September, the government said Friday. Economists polled by MarketWatch had forecast a 150,000 increase.

This is the slowest pace of job growth in four months, as businesses grew more cautious about hiring, but employment gains for August and July revised up by a combined 45,000,

And in a separate survey, the U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 3.5%, the lowest rate since December 1969.

“I Am With Mueller”: Newly Released Rosenstein Emails Reveal Crusade to Investigate Trump

New emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit reveal the details surrounding communications between Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller in the days leading up to the former FBI Director’s appointment as special counsel in the Russia probe. Mueller would go on to assemble a team comprising “13 Angry Democrats” as Trump called them, due to their obvious animus towards the president.

Bernie Sanders Had Heart Attack, His Doctors Say After Release From Hospital

Sen. Bernie Sanders had a heart attack, his doctors said Friday as he was released from a Las Vegas hospital.

“After presenting to an outside facility with chest pain, Sen. Sanders was diagnosed with a myocardial infarction,” his doctors, Arturo Marchand Jr. and Arjun Gururaj, said in the statement released by his presidential campaign, using another term for heart attack.

The doctors said Sanders, 78, was stable upon arriving at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center on Tuesday and was immediately taken to surgery to receive two stents following the discovery of a blocked artery.

Caroline Glick: American Jewry’s Days of Reckoning

On September 29, President Donald Trump set out his nationalist political philosophy in his address before the UN General Assembly. Arguing that the nation-state is the best guarantor of human freedom and liberty, Trump set up a contrast between “patriots” and “globalists.”

“The future does not belong to globalists,” he said.

“The future belongs to patriots. The future belongs to sovereign and independent nations who protect their citizens, respect their neighbors, and honor the differences that make each country special and unique.”

Jewish nationalists, that is, Zionists, could hear their core convictions echoed in Trump’s statement. Israeli political philosopher Yoram Hazony made much the same argument in his book, The Virtue of Nationalism, which was published last year.

One of the regimes most opposed to nationalism is the Iranian regime. Iran’s leaders view the regime not as the government of the nation of Iran, but as the leader of a global jihad, which will end with the regime’s domination of the world, in the name of Islam — not Iran.

Anti-Semitism is one of the animating doctrines of Iran’s regime. The leaders ascribe to genocidal Jew hatred. They use their commitment to annihilating Israel and war against the Jewish state as a means to build legitimacy for their regime and revolution throughout the Islamic world.

In his speech, Trump highlighted the regime’s anti-Semitism and its commitment to annihilate Israel.

Trump also excoriated the Arab world for refusing to recognize Israel’s right to exist, saying, “Fanatics have long used hatred of Israel to distract from their own failures.”

Trump pledged, “America will never tolerate such anti-Semitic hate.”

Rather than earning him plaudits, American Jews were caustic in their response to Trump’s speech. Britain’s Independent reported that several American Jews condemned Trump’s speech as anti-Semitic. For instance, Laura Seay, a political science professor in Texas tweeted, “So…Trump condemns anti-Semitism in the same speech he started with anti-Semitic code language like ‘globalism.’“…

Fringe Group Claims it Planned ‘Eat the Babies’ Stunt at AOC Town Hall

WASHINGTON — A fringe political group claimed responsibility for a strange stunt at a town hall speech by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was interrupted repeatedly by a woman who boisterously claimed people need to save the planet by “eating babies.”

The partisan CIA officer behind a so-called “whistleblower” complaint about President Donald Trump’s telephone call with the leader of Ukraine reportedly did not disclose his communications with a House Intelligence Committee staffer to the Intelligence Community inspector general.

According to Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge, inspector general Michael Atkinson told lawmakers that he had “no knowledge” of the officer’s contacts with the House Intel panel aide. University of Nevada, Reno Police: Student Arrested for Attacking Campus Conservatives

A student at the University of Nevado, Reno approached a group of conservative students who were promoting the school’s TPUSA chapter and flipped over their table, sending their personal items flying. “I went to f***ing jail because of you,” said the student, later identified as Edsel Bester. Bester was arrested by university police over the incident.

University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) students and other activists were promoting an upcoming event featuring Turning Point USA’s founder and executive director Charlie Kirk, when a student — later identified by police as Edsel Bester — approached them and told the conservative students that he “went to jail” because of them, before flipping over their table and sprinting away.

“Bester was arrested for Destruction of Property and Disturbing the Peace. He was taken to the Washoe County Jail,” the University of Nevada, Reno Police Department told Breitbart News on Thursday.

Why Are California Utility Bills So High?

By Brian Tomlinson

Gee, that sounds like a dumb question, right? After all, what Governor Jerry Brown did as one of his parting reminders is very clear. On September 10, 2018, he signed into law that power production by renewables be increased from the current 29.7% to 50% by 2026; 60% by 2030; and 100% by 2045. He could not be satisfied that his bullet train to nowhere was actually going nowhere and would cost $77 billion, so he had to come up with some other more radically dumb idea.

“I think your next campaign slogan has to be this — we got to start eating babies,” she added.

Irish Government ‘Cannot Possibly’ Accept Boris Brexit Deal, Claims Brits Want Another Vote

The Irish government has said it “cannot possibly” accept Boris Johnson’s proposed Brexit compromise, with the Irish prime minister claiming the British want another referendum.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had put forward a repackaged version of Theresa May’s withdrawal treaty with the European Union, which would have seen the British hand over an estimated £39 billion in exit fees, enter a years-long, extendable “transition” period in which Britain would remain an EU member-state in all but name — minus its representation in EU institutions — and agree to fall into a so-called “backstop” trading relationship if a free trade agreement was not agreed by the end of that period.

US Set to Put 25% Tariffs on Italian Cheeses

But olive oil and prosecco exempted

(ANSA) — Washington, October 2 — The United States is set to put tariffs of 25% on Italy’s Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano Reggiano and provolone cheeses, according to a list released by the American authorities.

On Wednesday the World Trade Organization (WTO) gave the green light for the US to impose 7.5 billion dollars’ worth of tariffs on European goods in relation to a long dispute over subsidies granted to Airbus. The tariffs, which are also set to hit Scotch whisky and French wine, could come into force as early as October 18.

The Parmigiano Reggiano consortium said this would take the price of authentic parmesan cheese for the American consumer up from around 40 dollars a kilo to over 45 dollars. Italian olive oil, prosecco and DOP Mozzarella di Bufala from Campania, however, have been exempted. The list refers to “prepared or preserved pork hams”. But the director of the consortium for San Daniele prosciutto said this did not mean Italian cold cuts were set to be penalised.

“The final list is prevalently directed towards Germany, Spain, France and Britain,” said Director Mario Emilio Cichetti.

“Italian cured meats do not feature, never mind San Daniele prosciutto”.

Italian Legislation Against International Law — Rackete

Sea Watch commander says saving migrants at sea is obligatory

(ANSA) — Brussels, October 3 — Sea Watch Commander Carola Rackete told a European Parliament hearing on Thursday that Italian legislation seeking to discourage migrant rescues at sea by NGO-run ships is against international law.

Under a decree drafted earlier this year by League leader and former interior minister Matteo Salvini, commanders of ships carrying rescued migrants that enter Italian waters without permission can face fines of up to one million euros. “Search-and-rescue operations at sea are within the realm of international law,” said Rackete, who defied a ban in order to land 40 migrants on the island of Lampedusa in June after a long standoff with the Italian authorities.

“I don’t know how Italy could have approved a law that does not respect international law”. Salvini pulled the plug on Premier Giuseppe Conte’s first government in August and the new executive that has replaced it has dropped the League leader’s hardline stance of refusing NGO-run rescue ships access to Italy’s ports. Rackete, a 31-year-old from Germany, lamented the fact that she did not have support from the European Union during the standoff with Rome. “I obtained the attention of the institutions, but where were you when we asked for help?” she said.

“My decision to enter the port after 17 days at sea was not a provocation, it was necessary.

“I was received as if I was driving a ship carrying the pest rather than a humanitarian ship with vulnerable, exhausted people on board”.

Who’s Afraid of Scandinavia’s Crime Statistics?

In Sweden, discussing who is behind the current crime epidemic in the countryhas long been taboo. Such a statistic has only been published twice by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (BRÅ), in 1996 and in 2005. In 2005, when BRÅ published its last report on the subject, “Crime among people born in Sweden and abroad,” it contained the following note:

“Critics have argued that new results can be inflated, taken out of context and misinterpreted and lead to reinforcing ‘us and them’ thinking. There is every reason to take such risks seriously. However, BRős assessment is… that a knowledge-based picture of immigrant crime is better than one based on guesses and personal perceptions. The absence of current facts about the crime among the foreign-born and their children facilitates the creation and consolidation of myths. If crime is a problem in certain groups of the foreign-born, then the problems do not disappear unless you highlight them and speak openly about them. A correct picture of the extent and development of the problems should instead be the best basis for analyzing conditions and improving the ability of all residents to function well in Sweden, regardless of ethnic origin.”

Back then, apparently, the authorities still appreciated facts.

Democrats in US Congress Who Passed Law to Ban Christianity Prepare for Mass Baby Genocide

A chilling new Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MLSP) report circulating in the Kremlin today noting how President Putin’s “Triumph of Christianity in Russia” has achieved yet another historic milestone with alcohol consumption plunging by an astounding 43% as more Russian peoples find true spiritual meaning in which to lead their lives, nevertheless warns that the storm clouds of demonic Western godlessness posing a threat to the Motherland continue to gather on the horizon—best exampled this past week when a British Court shockingly ruled that “Bible Belief Is Incompatible With Human Dignity” in a case that saw them declaring that Dr. David Mackereth did not have a right to call human beings by their correct biological sex—was a ruling that flew across the Atlantic Ocean into America where Virginia school teacher Peter Vlaming was fired for his daring to say there are only two biological sexes—both of which conform to a socialist Democrat Party’s controlled US House of Representatives disastrous and dishonestly titled Equality Act that if passed into law will not merely gut First Amendment protections but effectively ban Christianity and any other religions that teach that homoerotic acts and cross-sex impersonation are immoral—and was passed with the full support of all the anti-Christian leftist lawmakers from former President Obama’s stronghold socialist State of Illinois—a socialist state that has begun illegally seizing the newborn babies of its Christian citizens—and where it’s now been discovered the world’s largest baby killing abortion clinic has just been secretly built. [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]

According to this report, from the very second that the socialist Democrat Party took control of the US House of Representatives this past January-2019, they initiated a two tiered plot to fundamentally change the United States forever—the first of which saw them using all of their power to throw President Trump from office—and if successful in doing so, sees them preparing to unleash on the unsuspecting American people the law they passed in May-2019 that would effectively ban Christianity—a law so horrifying and dangerous, even the liberal University of Virginia law professor Douglas Laycock said in terror about it:

It goes very far to stamp out religious exemptions, it regulates religious non-profits.

And then it says that [the Religious Freedom Restoration Act] does not apply to any claim under the Equality Act.

This would be the first time Congress has limited the reach of RFRA.

This is not a good-faith attempt to reconcile competing interests.

It is an attempt by one side to grab all the disputed territory and to crush the other side.

Kaspersky Warns of Encryption-Busting Reductor Malware

Infection manipulates browsers to snoop on TLS comms

Kaspersky says it has uncovered a new malware infection that is able to decode encrypted TLS traffic without the need to intercept or manipulate it.

Known as Reductor, the malware was spotted in April of this year and is believed to be the work of an espionage-focused hacking crew known as Turla. The malware is thought to be connected to an earlier trojan called ‘COMpFun’.

What makes Reductor unique, says Kaspersky’s team, is its ability to manipulate TLS certificates. This, in turn allows the infection to present other malware installers as legitimate software.

  1. I want to bring to your attention one of the entries in the Facebook group “We, Migrants”.
    https://www.facebook.com/groups/836357869854835/permalink/1417127345111215/

This group is led by a migrant “human rights activist”, a UN grant recipient, and (as I assume) curator of the replacement migration, Valentina Chupik. She herself is a citizen of Uzbekistan and has a refugee passport.
Unfortunately, the entry is in Russian. If Google translate does not help you, there is also a Yandex translator. https://translate.yandex.ru/

… In 40 years, Russia will be populated mainly by YOUR descendants, because the Russians have passed the stage of demographic transition and reproduce very poorly.

  2. There was another part of the Occasional Cortex town hall meeting that also had me wondering if that too was a troll. There was a guy who held up this picture of his proposed mass transit project for Queens. It was just a picture of a big circular train track that went nowhere. That had to be a troll as well! Anyone know for sure about that?

  3. G Thunberg tipped to recieve a Nobel Prize!-How absolutely riddiculous. Her words such as they are, it has been claimed have been written, for her-of that I am quite certain. This young teenager really has little understanding of what she is led to say.
All the noise, chatter and propaganda about future rising earth temperatures are solely based on computer models. Although the climate scientists tell us that the computer model science is sound, they are lying through their teeth. The reason we know they are lying is because in 2007 the IPCC Working Group 1 (WG1) assessing the physical scientific aspects of the climate system said, in their own words, “we should recognize that we are dealing with a coupled nonlinear chaotic system, and therefore that the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.” The reader should focus on the part of the statement where it reads, “not possible.”…As one meteorologist and also a Geologist have in fact stated that Climate Change has been happening for millions of years and that man’s intervention through its industrial development over the last 150 years is slight. Carbon dioxide is responsible for any of the slight warming of the global climate that has occurred during the past 300 years, since the peak of the Little Ice Age. If there were such a proof through testing and replication it would have been written down for all to see.The contention that human emissions are now the dominant influence on climate is simply a hypothesis, rather than a universally accepted scientific theory. Please do not belittle such a great honour as the Nobel Prize, it would to denigrate the great man’s name.

  4. Unfortunately ‘the great honour’ of the Nobel prize has long been ‘ belittled’ by giving it to terrorists like Nelson Mandela…
