February Jobs Report: US Economy Adds 275,000 Jobs, Unemployment Rate Hits 3.9%

The US economy created more new jobs than expected in February, while an increase in the unemployment rate for the first time in four months and downward revisions to job growth in prior months suggested signs of some softening in the US labor market.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Friday showed the labor market added 275,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in February, significantly more additions than the 200,000 expected by economists. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate increased to 3.9% from 3.7% in January. This marks the first increase in the unemployment rate in four months, as it now sits at its highest level in the last two years.

Poland: Inflation Threat Kills Off Any Hope of Interest Rate Cuts

The Polish Monetary Policy Council (RPP), which sets the interest rates of Poland’s central bank (NBP), has decided to keep the interest rate frozen at 5.75 percent, which is the same level it has been at since October last year.

The head of Poland’s central bank (NBP), Adam Glapinski, signaled last month that any loosening of monetary policy was unlikely in 2024. Therefore, the Monetary Policy Council’s decision to hold rates steady on Wednesday was expected.

The uncertainty over the economic regulatory framework the RPP had commented on during its former meetings has remained in place. The new government is likely to reintroduce a 5 percent VAT rate on food and will also be unfreezing energy prices. These events are likely to push inflation up to the 5 to 6 percent level from today’s 3.9 percent.

Poland: Left-Wing Government Drops Key Tax Cut for Food and Energy, Will Instead Cut Beauty Service Taxes

In a decisive move by the governing coalition of Civic Platform (PO), the Third Way and the Left, it has been confirmed that there will be no continuation of the zero VAT rate on food, nor will there be a freeze on prices for electricity, gas, and urban heating. Instead, a reduction in VAT rates for eyebrow and eyelash beauty work is on the horizon.

The zero VAT rate on food, introduced by the government of Prime Minister Morawiecki, is set to expire on April 1, leading to an increase in food prices. Meanwhile, the freeze on electricity, gas and urban heating prices will end on June 30, signaling significant price hikes for these energy sources. But from April 1, the beauty industry will benefit from a VAT rate cut from 23 percent to 8 percent, likely resulting in lower prices for these specific services.

Signed by the Governor: Two South Dakota Laws Take Steps Against a Central Bank Digital Currency

PIERRE, S.D. (Feb 28, 2024) — Yesterday, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem signed two bills into law to reject a central bank digital currency (CBDC), removing it from the definition of money in the state and banning the state from accepting it as payment.

Rep. Mike Stevens and a bipartisan coalition of cosponsors introduced House Bill 1163 (HB1163) and House Bill 1161 (HB1161). HB1163 expressly excludes a CBDC from the definition of money in South Dakota, and HB1161 prohibits state agencies from accepting CBDC as a form of payment.

“Despite no money and a bare-bones, last-minute organization, the ‘Uncommitted’ line pulled nearly 19 percent, as progressive voters sought to send a message to Biden that he needs to change his policy toward Israel and its ongoing war in Gaza if he’s to earn their vote,” wrote Coolican.

DC Court Greenlights Flurry of Jan. 6 Lawsuits Against Trump

Authored by Tom Ozimek via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

A federal appeals court in the District of Columbia has issued an order allowing three Jan. 6 lawsuits to proceed against former President Donald Trump after a court rejected his assertion of presidential immunity.

A three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued an order on March 8, allowing the three consolidated appeals to be “removed from abeyance” and approving motions for summary affirmance, meaning removing a temporary hold on the cases and allowing them to proceed.

The lawsuits that are now allowed to proceed are Moore v. Trump, Kirkland v. Trump, and Tabron v. Trump.

In all three civil suits, law enforcement officers are seeking damages based on the premise that President Trump incited a mob to storm the Capitol, leading to a violent incident in which they sustained various injuries and suffered harm, including emotional distress.

Gold Star Dad Arrested After Heckling Biden Over Son’s Death in Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal

President Biden was momentarily distracted from delivery of his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, as the father of a Marine killed during the mishandled withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan yelled from the gallery at the top of his lungs, imploring the audience to remember the bloody bombing that took his son’s life.

As Biden was at a part of the speech where he was daring to claim that Americans are “safer today than when he took office,” 51-year-old Steven Nikoui bellowed “REMEMBER ABBEY GATE! US MARINES!” He was referring to a gate outside Karzai International Airport where a suicide bomber killed 11 Marines, a Navy corpsman and an Army soldier on August 26, 2021 as the airport was mobbed by people trying to flee the country. Among the dead: Nikoui’s son, Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui, a 22-year-old Californian.

Maoist New York Goes to Pol Pot With Urban Agriculture

There’s a story about an old Marxist who would address leftist rallies in Union Square a century ago as, “Workers and Peasants of New York City”. Leftists eventually transform farce into fact and that’s why New York’s number two mayoral candidate is touting a “New Agrarian Economy”.

It’s time to farm one of the most expensive and densely populated cities in the country.

Mao had kicked off China’s worst famine by demanding that wheat be grown everywhere. And New York City’s Maoists are following in his footsteps by trying to farm rooftops and parking lots.

Urban agriculture is one of those obscure lefty ideas so insane that few even believe it exists.

But Mayor Bill de Blasio had already created an Office of Urban Agriculture and the New York City Council, which is so crazy that it makes De Blasio look sane, had declared war on “food inequity”, by vowing to grow food in one of the most densely populated cities on earth.

If your city is going to pot anyway, why not go to Pol Pot?

Why is the Clinton Township Explosion Site Still Catching on Fire?

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) — The site of multiple explosions in Clinton Township on Monday night continues to smolder and occasionally catch fire four days later.

“You can see the smoke rising from certain areas,” Clinton Township Fire Chief Tim Duncan said.

He said there are two main hot spots on the west side of the building. Fire crews continue to apply water to these areas; Duncan says more than 2 million gallons of water have already been used to keep the flames at bay.

After Monday’s fire and multiple blasts leveled the building at 15 Mile and Groesbeck, a pile of debris, including structural steel beams, was left behind. Since the hot spots are covered by the steel, Duncan said he does not believe they will be out completely until the steel is removed.

It was one of President Emmanuel Macron’s wishes, expressed in Mulhouse in February 2020 as part of the fight against “Islamist separatism.” At the time, Macron announced his desire to put an end to seconded imams sent by Muslim countries to officiate in France, so that they could be replaced by imams trained in France.

German Plan for Federal Police Commissioner Raises Red Flags

The German traffic light coalition has launched plans to create the new position of police commissioner to supervise federal police authorities. But police unions have sounded the alarm, saying the new position would mean “an undermining of the separation of powers being transformed from a rhetorical possibility into a real threat”

According to the proposed law, seen by Apollo News, the police commissioner would “uncover and investigate structural deficiencies and maldevelopment” within the federal police and federal criminal police. The commissioner’s task would be to initiate investigations based on reports from citizens and police force employees—in the second case, an investigation would be mandatory—and prepare reports if a case is deemed particularly significant.

Smiling Poland Hit the Citizens With the Clenched Fist of Tusk and Holownia, Says PiS Politician

Spain Amnesties Catalan Separatists, Including for Violent Crimes

The Spanish Justice Commission at the country’s Congress has approved the government’s Amnesty Law made-to-measure for those actors who organised a fraudulent Catalan independence referendum on October 2017, declared independence, and engaged in subsequent acts of violence (on the part of groups like the C.D.R. or “Democratic Tsunami”). The latter, it should be remembered, resulted in deaths and physical incapacity.

An earlier, initial draft for this Amnesty deal was rejected by Junts per Catalunya, the governing party in Catalonia in 2017, and subsequently made far more comprehensive by the Spanish socialists, whose submission to its coalition partners is abject.

Suspected Attack by Yemen’s Houthi Rebels Sets Off Explosions Ahead of a Ship in the Gulf of Aden

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A suspected attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels Friday set off explosions ahead of a vessel in the Gulf of Aden, authorities said.

No one was hurt on the ship, which continued on its way, according to the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Operations center, which watches over Middle East’s waterways. The private security firm Ambrey also separately reported the attack.

The Houthis did not immediately claim responsibility for the attack. A statement from Houthi military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree was delayed Friday night over “urgent military developments in the theater of military operations,” according to the rebel-controlled SABA news agency. He was scheduled to speak Saturday.

Friday’s explosions came after a Houthi missile struck a commercial ship in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday, killing three of its crew members and forcing survivors to abandon the vessel.

Bangladesh: A Female Priest of a Hindu Temple is Allegedly Gang-Raped and Murdered in Gopalganj by Suspected Jihadists

Susmita Basak | HENB | Dhaka | March 7, 2024:: Again a horrifying news of attack on the Hindu minorities of Bangladesh reached the media. This time, a shocking news of the alleged gang-rape and murder of a woman priest of a Hindu temple has been coming from the Gopalganj district of Bangladesh. The Jihadi rackets involved in attacking temples to wipe out the Hindu symbols in Islamic Bangladesh are suspected by the local people.

The Priest (Pujari) has been identified as Hasilata Biswas alias Hasi (70). She was the Pujari of the Vishwabandhu Sevashram Mandir. She used to live in a room inside the Sevashram Mandir. The Sevashram Mandir is situated in the Malibata village under the Durgapur Union of the Gopalganj district.

On the morning of the 3rd of March, when local devotees visited the temple, they found that the door of her room was broken. They saw that Hasi had been lying on the floor.

A devotee said, “She was lying on the floor. Her hands were tied. Clothes were stuffed in her mouth. There were drops of blood on the floor. It is clear that she faced brutal sexual torture before murder.”

Two donation boxes of the Sevashram Mandir were found broken and all the donations and gold ornaments of the deities were taken away.

A case has already been filed in the Police Station. An investigating officer said that other agencies are working on the case. Very soon, the perpetrators will be arrested. But, no such police action has not been received till this reporting.

Advocate Rana Dasgupta, the General Secretary of Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council, condemned the heinous ‘rape and murder’ of Hasilata Biswas who was engaged as a female priest in Vishwabandhu Sevashram Mandir in Malibata. Dasgupta visited the temple and consoled the bereaved family of Hasilata.

Hindu minorities, Hindu temples, temple lands and valuables and the temple priests in Islamic Bangladesh are subject to Jihadi attacks again and again.

Mother and Daughter Killed in Stabbing and Police Shooting in Melbourne

A mother and daughter have died after a stabbing developed into a police shooting in Melbourne’s northeast.

Police were called to a Kett Street address after initial reports were made of a woman, 26, attempting to set another 52-year-old woman on fire about 6.30pm yesterday.

Arriving on the scene, officers were confronted with a woman “stabbing her mother” with officers left with “no choice” but to shoot her, Victoria Police Acting Superintendent Scott Colson said today.

“Police called on the daughter to drop the knife, however she continued to stab the mother and the members and what I understand was that they had no other choice but to shoot her”, Colson said.

Acting Superintendent Scott Colson said that only one shot was fired by officers.

He said officers were “confronted with a terrible dilemma and they’ve acted absolutely appropriately in their training and within the guidelines.”

“And for that they have my full support along with the broader organisation.”

“Unfortunately, and tragically, both the mother and the daughter died.”

The daughter, believed to be 26?-years-old, died as result of the single police shot.

Paramedics worked to save the mother, in her early 50s, but she also died at the scene, succumbing to knife wounds to her chest.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is facing an unexpected obstacle to her reelection bid this week as French establishment conservatives strongly criticised her “technocratic reflexes” and alliances with the left at the annual congress of the European People’s Party (EPP) in Romania this week.

Europeans are less than three months away from elections, with von der Leyen expected to easily return to the EU top job in what critics have branded a “coronation” rather than an actual reelection campaign.

Centre-right parties from across Europe are meeting in Bucharest this week to decide on a common platform as the EPP, the largest faction within the European Parliament, meets to launch its manifesto amid concerns that the group has veered way to the left since 2019 on green issues and migration.

  1. Go Jordan go ( Peterson that is).
I’m a big fan of his, but sometimes it is hard to stop him from talking…lol…
Congratulations to Swedens police for finally raiding a mosque full of mosquitoes. Hopefully they will keep it up.
    🙂

  2. “Czechia Sends 800,000 Artillery Shells to Ukraine”

“The Ukrainian Government of the Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren has gathered the funds necessary to send 800,000 much-needed artillery shells for the War Effort in Ukraine.”

There – I fixed that for ya

Danke auch an alle die meine Klage unterstützt haben!

Google translate: I’m happy and grateful to be back on Twitter/X. I would especially like to thank Musk for making this platform more open again. Hope the trend continues and everyone else who has been banned comes back.
Thanks also to everyone who supported my lawsuit!

    • “Frankfurt is now 15% Muslim”

Gosh, who could’a seen that coming?! Oh, wait..

“What’s another way to say “Resettlement Jihad”?” —posted to fb (June 2018)

“Whilst America battles Bolshevik two year-olds, illegals and their fellow travelers, the “Resettlement Jihad” quietly metastasizes here and throughout Europe (except Hungary and Czech, which had the common-sense to ban the entry of Muslim migrants)…” —posted to fb (Aug 2018)

“Whilst America’s fixated, once again, on its political reality show (remember: the US was fixated on a missing congressional aide when we were attacked by Mohammedanists on 9/11), the Mohammedanists quietly continue their “Resettlement Jihad”. I wonder what “the religion of peace” is up to (that’s a rhetorical question—the answer’s clear to anyone with a logic-based brain and a working knowledge of history… the question is: How many more innocent Americans will die before we put a stop to it?)..” —posted to fb (Sept 2018)

  4. “Less than 40 per cent of Germans said they would be willing to defend their nation”
    Does this include New Germans?
Maybe they should be asked if they would be willing to take up arms to help the invaders?

  5. So, Chris Bort, acting chief of ATF’s Firearms Ammunition Technology Division….introduced by the ATF Director as the ATF’s “expert”….right?, does NOT appear to know how to disassemble (or reassemble) the most common sidearm in Obamerica—a Glock…..right? And these two are The Party’s “experts” in charge of enforcing firearm laws in Obamerica….right?

Now, I’ll grant that knowing how to operate modern firearms, especially the SCARY LOOKING ones, CAN be complex, intimidating and confusing for someone with 0 experience with firearms, especially the SCARY LOOKING ones…..right? But these two’re supposed to be THE federal government’s TOP FIREARMS EXPERTS. And you wonder why non-hyphenated AMERICAN citizens, many of whom ARE experts in firearms (especially the SCARY LOOKING ones), want to ban dopey weapons—i.e., the biological poopy-heads that have the trigger fingers—rather than inanimate tools….right?

It’s NOT an exaggeration to suggest that placing people like this in charge of firearm law enforcement is akin to placing me in charge of crafting Mandarin grammar rules….and I don’t speak a word of Mandarin!….right? C’mon, guys….really?

p.s. Memo to ATF director: ANY law-abiding American CITIZEN who’s willing to submit ATF paperwork and pay ATF for a $200 “tax stamp” can purchase any registered machine gun; and that “75-round clip” is a called magazine….right? But whatever…..right?

    F’ing ‘toddlers….Oy veh…..right?
