200 Foot Steel Radio Tower Stolen in Alabama
How do you make a 200 foot steel radio tower disappear?
At this point, maybe we should start worrying less about the rise of looting and thefts in major U.S. cities and start testing thieves for above-average engineering and problem-solving skills. Hey, maybe as part of a new diversity initiative we could even get them involved in the space program!
Regardless, this inquiry is what WJLX station general manager Brett Elmore finds himself asking in Alabama — after a 200-foot radio tower was stolen.

Judge Blocks Omaha’s Ban on Guns in Public Places While Lawsuit Challenging it Moves Forward
OMAHA, Neb. — Nebraska’s largest city won’t be able to enforce its ban on guns on all public property, including parks and sidewalks, while a lawsuit challenging that restriction moves forward.
Douglas County District Judge LeAnne Srb issued a preliminary injunction Friday blocking that ban, but she refused to put Omaha’s restrictions on “ghost guns” and bump stocks on hold.
The Liberty Justice Center filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Nebraska Firearms Owners Association arguing that the city restrictions violate a new state law passed last year that allows people to carry concealed guns across the state without a permit and without the need to complete a gun safety course. A similar lawsuit challenging gun restrictions in Lincoln remains pending.

Last week, the European Council finally adopted the midterm revision of the EU’s Multi-annual Financial Framework (MFF)—the first of its kind in EU history. The most important element of it is undoubtedly the €50 billion aid package meant for Ukraine.
The budget review, however, has three major elements, none less important than the other. The other two pay special attention to the Western Balkan countries’ economic integration ahead of possible enlargement, as well as new financial instruments that help EU member states battle illegal migration at the Union’s external borders and beyond.
We sat down for an exclusive interview with Olivér Varhelyi, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood, to talk about the different elements of the MFF review. What are the criteria for implementing the Ukraine funds, when can the Western Balkan countries expect to finally join the EU, and what’s behind the sudden ‘pivot to Africa’ in terms of Brussels’ migration management strategy? Finally, we also asked the commissioner about the recent scandal involving the UNRWA and what the Commission plans to do about it.

France: The Artist Holding Valuable Art Hostage to Protect Julian Assange
One unusually warm January afternoon, I arrived in Cauterets, a small spa town in the Pyrenees, in southwest France, to meet the Russian artist Andrei Molodkin. There was a scattering of fromagerie stalls in the streets. Low-slung cable cars ferried skiers to the mountaintop, casting moving shadows over the families wandering through the town. Walking among them, I wondered what they’d think if they knew what Molodkin was doing up the hill.
As Molodkin strained to open the heavy metal door of the safe, I counted five different locks. Inside were a handful of custom-built plywood crates, which will eventually hold a group of works donated by artists and collectors. There will be pieces by Picasso, Rembrandt, and Andy Warhol, as well as more contemporary works by artists such as Andres Serrano, Santiago Sierra, and Sarah Lucas, which Molodkin estimates at a collective value of around forty million dollars. “We have sixteen art works so far, but people keep offering to donate more,” he said, a note of satisfaction detectable in his voice. In the middle of the crates was a small pneumatic pump connecting two white barrels, one containing acid powder and the other an accelerator that could cause a chemical reaction strong enough to turn the entire contents of the safe to debris within two hours.

Hungary Mulls Buying Several Small Nuclear Reactors
In a few years’ time, Hungary could commit to buying one or more small modular nuclear reactors; it is just a question of which producer to buy from and which type. The supply of such reactors is supposedly large, but those who buy often find only plants under construction or conceptual designs instead of working reactors, business portal Vilaggazdasag writes.
More than 80 small modular reactors (SMRs) are under development worldwide, as demand for them has soared due to their wide range of applications. They can be used by default to generate electricity, as part of hybrid power systems, for heating, desalinating water or producing steam for industry. They are also an indispensable solution for supplying areas that are geographically remote or otherwise under-serviced by other forms of energy generation.

West Bank ‘Paralysed’ by Israeli Checkpoints as Gaza War Rages
Israeli movement restrictions have long made life difficult for the three million Palestinians living in the West Bank; the number of barriers in the Palestinian territory has greatly increased since Oct. 7, adding hours to already lengthy commutes
To arrive at work in Jerusalem on time, Murad Khalid must be at the Israeli checkpoint by 3:00 a.m., despite living nearby in the occupied West Bank — a constant challenge made worse by the Gaza war.
The 27-year-old said he and other residents of Kafr Aqab neighbourhood in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem — located on the West Bank side of the barrier — are subjected to a “security check that may take an hour for each car” at Qalandia crossing.
Israeli movement restrictions have long made life difficult for the three million Palestinians living in the West Bank.
But since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, traffic has become “paralysed”, said Palestinian Authority official Abdullah Abu Rahmah. The number of checkpoints and barriers in the Palestinian territory has greatly increased since October 7, adding hours to already lengthy commutes and forcing residents to either wait at the checkpoints or take long detours.
Largely unaffected are the 4,90,000 Israelis living across the West Bank in settlements — considered illegal under international law — who can bypass Palestinian communities on roads built especially for them. It used to take accountant Amer al-Salameen just half an hour to drive from his home in the city of Ramallah to his parent’s village Al-Samou.

Putin Says He Asked Bill Clinton if Russia Could Join NATO
Russian leader Vladimir Putin said in his interview with Tucker Carlson this week that he asked U.S. President Bill Clinton in 2000 if Russia could join NATO and, while Clinton allegedly said he was personally warm to the idea, his advisers decided it was politically impossible.
“I asked him: ‘Bill, do you think if Russia asked to join NATO, do you think it would happen?’ Suddenly he said, ‘You know, it’s interesting. I think so,’“ Putin recalled.

Ukraine Claims it Sank Another Russian Warship in Crimea
Ukraine’s military intelligence (GUR) said on February 1 that sea drones attacked and sank a Russian corvette in the Black Sea near Crimea overnight. The GUR said on Telegram that Russia’s Ivanovets was patrolling near Lake Donuzlav in the western part of Crimea when several drones hit the ship.
A video posted on the site appears to show explosions hitting a ship, which then appears to start sinking. The GUR claim could not be independently verified. Russian officials have not commented. Ukraine has staged a string of damaging attacks on the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia illegally annexed from Ukraine in 2014

Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Dehradun | Feb 9, 2024:: Four persons were killed and many critically injured in the violence that broke out over the demolition of an illegally-built madrasa and a place for offering namaz (Mosque, as they claimed) inside its premises in the town of Haldwani in Uttarakhand where the Uniform Civil Code was passed a day before. Curfew has been imposed and shoot-at-sight orders issued. Nainital District Magistrate (DM) Vandana Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Prahlad Meena, who held a joint press conference here on Friday, confirmed the two deaths in the violence that broke out on Thursday. But, the latest news inputs from the localities have confirmed 4 casualties and injury of more than 100 police personnel.
When, the clash between Police and the Muslim mob in Banbhoolpura area of Haldwani in which so far 4 people have died and more than 100 policemen were injured, and the administration compelled to order the closure of all schools and colleges and stopping internet services, the Nainital DM Vandana Singh told the media person, “the incident was not communal in nature” as a face-saver of the Pushkar Singh Dhami Govt, assuring, “accused will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.”
PTI reports, “ local residents on Thursday set vehicles and a police station on fire and hurled stones, injuring more than 100 people, over the demolition of allegedly ‘illegally-built’ madrasa and an adjoining mosque.” The most horrid incident took place in the Malik-Ka-Bagicha area of Banbhoolpura Police Station jurisdiction.
Four people have been arrested for inciting the mob while several others are being searched. Police say, “cases for rioting and arsoning will be registered against 14-15 identified persons who incited violence”.
Haldwani Police-Muslim Violent Clash
The Banbhoolpura Police-Muslim clash proved that the passing of an UCC in Uttarakhand, was just a gimmick to satiate a majority urge. But, Dhami Govt shaped the state an Islamic hub by with all extremity promoting a dangerous ‘sabka saath -sabka vikas -sabka vishwas’ policy of Pasmanda Samrat Narendra Modi.
Even when the insurgent Islamic flames are turning the state of Uttarakhand under a wildfire, the secular DM of Nainital exhorted, “The police station has been completely damaged by the mob…This is an unfortunate incident. The accused will be identified and strict action will be taken. But, this (incident) was not communal. I request everybody to not make it communal or sensitive. Any particular community did not retaliate…This was an effort to challenge the state machinery, state govt and the law and order situation…A briefing will be done again in the evening,”
On the violence that erupted in the Banbhoolpura area of Haldwani, Chief Secretary of State Radha Raturi said, “We held a meeting and took stock of the situation here. The government will soon restore peace in the region, and the law of the land will be implemented. And soon, things will return to normalcy. I appeal to all citizens to not spread or pay heed to any kinds of rumours and help maintain peace.”
In the wake of violence in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani on Friday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh stated that no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands, regardless of the circumstances.
Singh expressed confidence in the Uttarakhand government’s ability to handle any such transgressions effectively.
“No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. Be it religious circumstances or any other reason, The Uttarakhand government is able, and if anyone takes the law into their hands, they will handle it perfectly,” the union minister told ANI.
But, how many instances Mr Giriraj Singh wants as the Muslims in India are always ready to take the law into their own hands.
Didn’t Mr Giriraj Singh hear the voice of Jamait Chief against the passing of UCC in Uttarakhand?
Though the internet services in the affected region are stopped, horrific pictures and videos are appearing in various social media platforms.
One female staff of the Uttarakhand Police narrated her ordeal as, “We locked ourselves in a room, while a mob tried to set the room on fire. they came in swarms from all directions. they attacked us with impunity.”
Another male staff of the Uttarakhand Police described how “the mob started stone pelting from all sides, burnt vehicles and bikes and attacked the police with country made one-shutter or firearms.”
However, BJP and its Godman Narendra Modi advertise a ‘Amritkaal’ (the seventy five years of Indian Independence) with the showering of stones as flowers by the Muslims, Bangladeshis and Rohingyas here and there in India.
Under the Modi-Shah magic, the stone pelters of Kashmir valley are seen all over India in any Muslim dominated areas.
Even then, Modi Govt in the Center and Double Engine BJP Govts in different states promote the Muslim (Pasmanda) appeasement and find scope to recruit more Muslim IAS and IPS through UPSC and State Administrative and Police services to endanger the situation furthermore.
It is important to note here that Uttarakhand was formed as a state on 9th November 2000, cutting it from Uttar Pradesh. Congress ruled there for 10 years and BJP for 14 years and last 7 years under a double engine Govt as proudly claimed by Bharatiya Janata Party. So, there is least scope to blame Congress for this Haldwani havoc as an usual excuse after a serious breakdown of the BJP’s double engine in the state.
There was another Haldwani horror in July 2023, when Muslims beat Hindu women and children by entering their home Then the peace-force tore clothes and kicked a pregnant woman, injuring face with a sharp weapon.
The Islamist forces in the BJP ruled states are highly increasing including Uttarakhand. The Haldwani Muslim-Police clash is nothing but a tip of the iceberg. The Nuh incident last year also exposed another double engine Govt in Haryana. Both Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Haryana CM Monharlal Khattar are RSS insiders. They have failed to restrain the Islamic insurgency in their respective states and the pycphants in RSS-BJP are over satisfied with the PM Modi and other BJP CMs in other states even endangering the safety and security of the peace-loving Hindus.
The situation of the Hindus are like from the Frying Pan (Congress) to Oven (BJP). The concerned Hindu leadership must think about the Hindu defense ignoring all offense made (if any) in this reporting.
If the Police station can’t be protected under a double engine Govt, What is the security of Hindu there in fact? Isn’t the Haldwani havoc really shocking?

Venezuela Deploys Tanks, Armored Carriers to Guyana Border
After constant jawboning for over two months, Venezuela is now backing up its threats to annex part of oil-rich Guyana and secure access to some of the world’s largest oil deposits by “moving light tanks, missile-equipped patrol boats and armored carriers to the two countries’ border”, the WSJ reported noting that this is set to rapidly turn into a new security headache for the administration of the now officially senile US president.
The deployment, which was visible in satellite images made public Friday and in videos recently posted by Venezuela’s military on social media, is a “major escalation” in Caracas’s attempts to obtain some leverage over its neighbor’s newfound energy reserves, even though any military confrontation will result in an international response that promptly ousts Maduro. It comes despite a written agreement reached in December between the Venezuelan dictator and Guyanese President Irfaan Ali that denounced the use of force and called for a commission to address territorial disputes.

New data shows that knife crime jumped 30 percent in one year in Germany and that more than half of the suspects are foreigners.
In response to an Alternative for Germany (AfD) request, the federal Interior Ministry released data showing that there were 1,160 knife attacks in Germany in 2023, which is up from 882 in 2022. Another 48 percent of suspects have German citizenship. It should be noted that it is unclear if the suspects listed as “German” have a migration background, as all Germans with citizenship are listed as “Germans” in the crime statistics even if they have roots in other countries.
The AfD responded to the new data with an official statement:

Ukrainian Family Raked in €40,000 in German State Benefits Despite Returning Home for Almost a Year
A family of Ukrainian refugees has siphoned off approximately €40,000 in German welfare benefits despite returning to their homeland without notifying the German authorities.
A mother and her son arrived in Germany in the spring of 2022, shortly after the Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine, and applied to receive Bürgergeld — the German citizens’ allowance.
The pair initially stayed with a host family in Schleswig-Holstein before a subsidized apartment was made available, and a taxpayer-funded daycare place was approved for the son.
Shortly after their arrival, the husband also fled Ukraine and stayed at the apartment in Germany and the couple were soon expecting their second child.
After the child’s birth, the family of four was receiving welfare benefits to the tune of €3,200 per month, comprising Bürgergeld, discounted rent, and heating subsidies.

Church of England Continues Debate on Homosexuality Amid “Profound Disagreement”
The Church of England’s governing body is set to convene this month to discuss the adoption of new commitments regarding homosexuality and same-sex couples, acknowledging ongoing divisions on the issue, as reported by Reuters.
As a central institution within the Anglican Communion, which boasts 85 million followers worldwide, the Church of England currently prohibits same-sex marriage, upholding its traditional stance that marriage is exclusively between a man and a woman. However, recognizing the need for greater inclusivity for LGBTQ individuals within its congregations, the centuries-old church has expressed regret for the “hostile and homophobic response” some members of this community have encountered.

There has been an outcry in Russia over a Muslim activist’s demand to “cover up the shame of the statue of the Motherland”
Unfortunately, a very short link was found in English, without details.
https://twitter.com/nexta_tv/status/1755619253699633220
Islamic activist from Bashkortostan Rasul Akhiyaretdinov spoke about the excessive sexuality of the main sculpture of the memorial complex on Mamayev Kurgan, “The Motherland Calls!” The man recorded the video while standing in front of the monument. According to him, the Motherland looks too open.
Akhiyaretdinov turned to Putin. According to the activist, he allegedly managed to communicate with Muslim and Orthodox clergy and realized that “none of them were satisfied with the appearance of the monument.” The activist said that on behalf of Volgograd residents and all residents of Russia he expresses dissatisfaction with the appearance of one of the country’s symbols.
“On behalf of the residents of Volgograd and Russia, I declare that we are dissatisfied with the way the Motherland looks,” the activist said.
He stated that the USSR “made many mistakes,” and the “Motherland” statue is one of them, since the mother, Akhiyaretdinov is sure, cannot look like that. The activist demanded reconstruction in order to “hide the shameful places of this monument.” The man is sure that every local resident and tourist allegedly looks at the chest of the statue; he was especially outraged by the “protruding nipples.”
“It’s worth dressing the monument a little more modestly. Perhaps put a scarf on your shoulders or arms. After all, the scarf is a symbol of a woman’s honor. They write to me in the comments that I demand to wear a hijab, but no. I don’t want this,” said Akhiyaretdinov.
I will add that the Muslim blogger has already repented and recorded an apology on camera.
