Canada’s Economy Stalls in August, Seen Slipping Into Recession in Q3

OTTAWA (Reuters) —The Canadian economy stalled in August and likely slipped into a shallow recession in the third quarter, data showed on Tuesday, a sign the central bank’s 10 interest rate hikes since last year are weighing on growth.

With the economy stumbling along slower than the Bank of Canada forecast just last week, analysts said there is no need to raise rates again from 5.0%, a 22-year high. The Canadian dollar was trading lower, near its weakest level in a year.

Italy Registers Zero Growth in Q3 — ISTAT

(ANSA) — ROME, OCT 31 — Italy registered zero growth in the third quarter of 2023, ISTAT said on Tuesday.

The national statistics institute estimates that GDP in chain-linked values with reference year 2015 adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects remained stationary in the period July-September compared to both the previous quarter and the third quarter of 2022.

“The Italian economy remained stable in the third quarter of 2023 following a decline in the second quarter of the year,” said Istat.

“The year-on-year dynamic was also stable, interrupting a growth trend that had lasted for ten consecutive quarters,” it added.

Acquired GDP growth therefore stood at 0.7% as in the second quarter, ISTAT said.

“Welcome to Biden’s Dream House, where the American dream just got significantly more expensive,” the group wrote on X.

CA’s County Fair Gun Show Ban Halted After Judge Says it Violates Rights

A federal judge on Monday blocked California’s ban on gun shows at county fairs, ruling that the state is violating the rights of sellers and would-be buyers by prohibiting transactions for firearms that can be bought at any gun shop.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Mark Holcomb halts enforcement of two state laws, both written by Democratic state Sen. Dave Min, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The first, effective Jan. 2022, barred gun shows at the Orange County Fair, and the other, which took effect this year, extended the ban to county fairgrounds on state-owned land.

“California’s interest in stopping crimes committed with illegal weapons, as important as it is, cannot justify prohibiting the complete sale of lawful firearms at gun shows,” Holcomb wrote.

Former Jan 6th Prosecutor Runs for Congress, Focusing Campaign on Tackling “Conspiracy Theories” on Social Media

A counter-terrorism (national security) prosecutor who made a name for himself — or so he hopes — by going after participants in the January 6 riots is now hoping to capitalize on his previous career by switching directly to politics.

Will Rollins has announced that he is running for Congress in California, with his platform based on changing regulation that governs Big Tech’s social media, in order to combat what he considers to be conspiracy theories — such as QAnon and Covid-related issues — but also more vaguely, to take on “spreading division based on lies.”

In announcing the congressional run, Rollins revealed that his political efforts are based on the thinking that divisions in the US are not the result of, say, differing political and ideological beliefs within a free electorate, but of “democracy-eroding lies” that the media, Big Tech, and extremists, all help spread.

Apparently, there is such a thing as a democracy to erode, even if everyone gets corralled into the same place regarding some basic issues.

Las Vegas Police Use Patrol Vehicle to Strike and Kill Armed Suspect in Fatal Stabbing

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police officers used a patrol vehicle Tuesday to strike and kill a man who the department says fatally stabbed a female at an apartment complex and then ran into the street and “began to walk toward occupied vehicles” while armed with a knife.

Police Capt. Joshua Martinez said officers had been called to investigate reports of a stabbing at an apartment complex in western Las Vegas when they encountered a man brandishing a knife in the street. Martinez said officers hit the man with their patrol vehicle “to get him down to the ground” and take him into custody. He died at the scene.

“As we know, there are various ways to de-escalate a situation,” Martinez said, though he did not say more about the officers’ actions.

Police did not release the names or ages of the man or the stabbing victim, who died at a hospital. They also didn’t identify the officers.

“Ethnic studies provides many academic benefits. Young people get to learn about how people from their own and different backgrounds faced challenges and contributed to — and still contribute to — American society,” she said.

Parents Sue California Over Vaccine Mandates in Schools

California has been hit with a lawsuit filed on behalf of parents regarding the state’s vaccine mandates for schools.

Parents are suing California over a state law that eliminated religious exemptions for school-mandated vaccines.

The federal lawsuit was brought by Advocates for Faith and Freedom, a nonprofit law firm dedicated to protecting religious liberty.

A far-left group being funded by liberal billionaire George Soros is targeting Kentucky Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Daniel Cameron, a Black Republican, with an ad disparaging him as an Uncle Tom.

Black Voters Matter Action PAC, which FEC filings show received millions from Soros’ super-PAC, has been running the radio ad on a local R&B station based in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, describing Cameron as “Uncle Daniel Cameron,” and accusing him of betraying his race by declaring “all skinfolk ain’t kinfolk.”

Canada Bans Chinese App WeChat From Government Devices

Canada has announced it will ban WeChat on government devices.

The Chinese-owned app is sometimes referred to as the “everything app” — like WhatsApp, Facebook, Amazon and Tinder all in one.

However Western governments have security concerns about it, mainly that the app could be used to spy on users.

The BBC has reached out to Tencent, the company that owns WeChat, for comment but has not yet received a response.

WeChat is one of the most used apps in the world. It is ubiquitous in China and also popular in Southeast Asia and within Chinese diaspora communities.

Canada’s ban is effective immediately.

British Police ‘Don’t Care About Anti-White Hate Crime’

The government says it is trying to stop police wasting time on so-called “non-crime hate incidents,” but peaceful, law-abiding citizens continue to get hounded for such non-events. According to a new report, however, officers are only interested if the hate is directed against someone who is not white.

A report written by Marc Glendening for the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) argued:

Hate speech laws are enforced in a politically partial and inconsistent manner, with police refusing to seek prosecutions for analogous cases when they are directed against white people.

Police, for example, refused to pursue a case against Bahar Mustafa, the welfare and diversity officer of Goldsmiths University’s Students’ Union, who posted the phrase “KillAllWhiteMen.”

Conservative MEPs: Are EU Taxpayers Funding Terrorism?

The European Commission promised a substantial overhaul of its humanitarian finances after conservative MEPs shed light on several alarming issues in relation to EU funds disbursed to Gaza in the past during a hearing in the European Parliament’s Budgetary Control (CONT) committee last week.

According to the Commission’s written answers, provided to the MEPs before the hearing (and seen by The European Conservative), the European Union has transferred €681 million to the Palestinian Authority and the UNRWA (the UN agency active in Palestine) between 2021 and 2023—one-third, or about €225 million of which went directly to Gaza. On top of that, the EU “provided support for the Palestinian Authority’s recurrent expenditures,” specified as mainly salaries, pensions, and social allowances.

The most important thing all MEPs in the room wanted to know was how the Commission makes sure none of these funds end up funding—or even indirectly contributing to—terrorism-related activities.

EU Plans Renaturation: German Dams to be Demolished

The European Union has announced plans for the renaturation of rivers and wetlands by 2030 as part of its strategy to preserve biodiversity. This initiative aims to restore a total of 25,000 kilometers of riverbeds, including those in Germany, Unser Mitteleuropa reports.

A key aspect of this initiative is the removal of deemed unnecessary dams. Europe has over a million dams, many of which play crucial roles in irrigation, energy generation and water supply. However, the EU emphasizes that a significant number of dams are no longer in operation and have been neglected. These aging structures are not only viewed as a structural risk but also as detrimental to water quality and the biological diversity of rivers.

With concerns the woman could be holding a bomb, police confronted the suspect, and asked her to calm down and show her hands.

When she refused to comply, officers believed she had an explosive device hidden under her long Islamic robes and shot her.

Several officers opened fire and struck the woman who turned out to be unarmed.

Lack of Oversight in the EU Allows Surveillance Companies to Operate Unchecked

Amid a growing global debate over the use of spyware and digital surveillance, Europe has emerged as a hub for the spyware industry, a place where surveillance companies can operate with impunity, targeting high-ranking officials, activists and individuals without meaningful oversight. While the European Union is renowned for its tech regulation and data protection efforts, it seems that the world of spyware has turned the continent into the “Wild West” of digital espionage, according to Politico.

The recent attempted hacking of Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, has shed light on the issue. The spyware deployed against Metsola was linked to a European company, the Intellexa alliance. This alliance, based in Ireland, is composed of surveillance technology firms that produce and sell the infamous Predator surveillance software. Amnesty International uncovered the attempted hack, revealing that Predator allows attackers to gain full access to victim devices, including their microphones, cameras, text messages and apps.

Israeli Military Jets Strike Gaza Camp, Says Hamas Commander Killed

GAZA/JERUSALEM, Nov 1 (Reuters) — Israeli airstrikes hit a densely populated refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, killing at least 50 Palestinians and a Hamas commander, and medics struggled to treat the casualties, even setting up operating rooms in hospital corridors.

Israeli tanks have been active in Gaza for at least four days following weeks of air bombardments in retaliation for an attack by Palestinian Hamas militants on mostly Israeli civilians on Oct. 7 and the taking of more than 200 hostages.

An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) statement said the strike by fighter jets on Jabalia, Gaza’s largest refugee camp, had killed Ibrahim Biari.

“He was very important, I would say even pivotal in the planning and the execution of the October 7 attack against Israel from the northeastern parts of the Gaza Strip,” said IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus.

Dozens of Hamas combatants were in the same underground tunnel complex as Biari and were also killed when it collapsed in the attack, Conricus said.

‘Don’t Expect Instant Success,’ Ukraine’s Zelensky Warns as He Rallies His Troops

Russia’s 20-month war, which began on February 24, 2022, shows no signs of ending, with ongoing fighting and heavy losses.

Ukraine’s attacks on the Russian Navy in the Black Sea have crippled Moscow’s war efforts, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday, seeking to rally his troops even as the outside world expects instant successes.

Despite Kyiv’s gruelling months-long offensive, the vast frontline in Ukraine’s east and south has moved little in the past year, spurring criticism and impatience among some of Ukraine’s Western allies.

“We live in a world that gets used to success too quickly. When the full-scale invasion began, many people around the world did not believe that Ukraine would survive,” Zelensky said in his nightly video address. “Glory to all those who do not retreat, who do not burn out, who believe in Ukraine just as they did on February 24, and who has been fighting for unwaveringly.”

Russia Makes 80 Arrests After Antisemitic Rioting at Dagestan Airport

Russia has detained more than 80 people in connection with the antisemitic rioting on Sunday in which hundreds of young men stormed an international airport in Dagestan to stop Jews from disembarking from a flight from Tel Aviv.

Five people have received jail sentences of six to 10 days for petty hooliganism, and federal investigators said they had opened a criminal case for mass rioting, which carries a maximum sentence of eight to 15 years in prison. It is not clear whether anyone has been charged in that case yet.

The riots, which observers have compared to a tsarist-era pogrom, stood out for a lack of police response as the mob took control of the airfield and main terminal while riot police stood by. Clashes broke out later on Sunday evening, injuring dozens of people including two police officers.

Police have now launched a delayed crackdown on the rioters, accompanied by fiery statements pinning blame on shadowy enemies from abroad.

Video published on Tuesday showed riot police in helmets making an arrest in downtown Makhachkala, while a regional governor said the tempo of arrests would increase.

The 19-page document, obtained by The European Conservative through an Irish diplomat in Brussels, was originally sent by the General Secretary of the Department of Equality and Integration, Kevin McCarthy, to the Public Accounts Committee on May 8th of this year. Despite containing six separate notes warning that it is “commercially sensitive” information and “not for publication,” it was accidentally released to parliamentarians in full, without any redactions.

U.S. Migrant Crisis: 5,000 March Toward the Border in the Biggest Caravan of Undocumented Immigrants in More Than a Year Amid Delays at Immigration Centers in Mexico

As many as 5,000 migrants are marching from the southern Mexico state of Chiapas in hopes of reaching the northern border region with the United States.

Migrants from Central America, Venezuela, Cuba and Haiti initiated the trek Monday after they had grown frustrated with the long wait times the Mexican government was taking to process their refugee or exit visa applications at the main immigration processing center in the Chiapas town of Tapachula, near the Guatemala border.

Mexico’s National Migration Institute, which is tasked with approving or denying the applications, has been backed up with requests. Migrants normally wait weeks or months to have their status legalized, which allows them to work and move freely in the country.

Bud Light Parent Anheuser-Busch InBev’s Sales Tumble Further in US

Anheuser-Busch InBev on Tuesday reported a staggering 13.5% decline in U.S. revenue in the third quarter as the company’s Bud Light brand continues to suffer in the country after a controversial partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney in the spring.

Sales of Bud Light began to tumble in the U.S. in April, not long after the brand created and sent custom beer cans to Mulvaney to mark her “365 days of girlhood.” That move and comments from Bud Light’s marketing vice president at the time sparked calls for beer drinkers to shun the brand, and the boycott took hold.

    • The British police are as evil as the Muslims terrorists they protect.

Those cops have absolutely no morals when it comes to protecting the Indigenouse White British from Muslim attacks.

  1. Re I Was Right. Doesn’t everyone now think the whole thing is a plan to destroy christianity by sending us incompatible muslims etc so that rich people like Blackrock/US Oil can steal their land and resources when they are out of the way? There is oil off the coast of Gaza and the land along the coast will make a great tourist resort and fun park. Leveling the buildings means it is ready to build new Israeli housing and shopping malls.
Israel is also bulldozing parts of the West Bank which doesn’t have Hamas.

    • Israel has the right to bulldoze that area because the enemy builds their homes with no permits. It is the Land of the Hebrews,

Israel belongs to the Jews in perpetuity.

    • Seeing as Europe and the US are funding [Hamas] and the PLO, they should take them, after all, those bodies have already saturated Europe and the U.K. with invaders. If you support “palestinians “, you get to keep them.
Not only that, the British government created this situation by appeasing their Arab butt buddies and cheating Israel out of land that was promised in the Balfour declaration.

  3. 3,000% increase in excess deaths for New Zealand because the goal of the government there is the depopulation of New Zealand Citizens. Democide. Yet people refuse to come right out to tell the truth, and that right there is perhaps the most demoralizing fact of all.

New Zealand population 2017: 4,360,000. New Zealand population 2025: 3,290,300. Depopulation rate: -24.5. Or one in four dead in eight years. Source: https://www.docdroid.net/Wnd4zsY/deagel-2025-forecast-by-country-pdf

    • “3,000% increase in excess deaths for New Zealand”

The problem with these types of reports is that they only come from sketchy sources. Where’s the coverage in [any of] the objective science journals? Where’s the coverage in the likes of ZeroHedge or New York Post?

Now, that may be due to the source ignoring the mainstream media’s inherent bias towards LYING, or it may be due to their HEADLINING unproven theories. Which is it in this case? Beats me???

      • Sketchy sources? Only the propagandists who are refuting this data are the ‘sketchy’ ones. This is the official data from the New Zealand government itself:

“Fully-Vaxxed New Zealand Suffers 3000% Spike in Excess Deaths, Posted By Frank Bergman On October 31, 2023 – The number is a 3,203 percent increase over the figures for 2020, the last year before the Covid shots were rolled out.” – Read more here: https://slaynews.com/news/fully-vaxxed-new-zealand-suffers-3000-spike-excess-deaths/

        • “Only the propagandists who are refuting this data are the ‘sketchy’ ones. This is the official data from the New Zealand government itself”

I’ve read the Slay article, but Slay is not an official outlet for the New Zealand government, which was my point. Generally speaking, if there’s merit to an important story like this, the mainstream media WILL ultimately report it, often within 72 hours or so, even if only to refute Slay’s version (and often with an official government disclaimer).

When there’s no mainstream response at all, the story often vanishes shortly after. So, this time next week, let’s see if this story has legs or silently slips away.

      • I’ve argued that the excess deaths are due not solely to the vaccines, but to the anti-covid measures by governments. There was an item in the newsfeed back then, sent by me, about a study which claimed that there will be 800,000 excess deaths in the US for the next 10 years due to government anti-covid measures.

New Zealand went crazy on the anti-covid measures. That is contributing to the excess deaths.
