NY Man Accused of Stabbing EMT to Death Says Video of Attack Was ‘Photoshopped’

A Queens man charged with stabbing an EMT to death a year ago says he was home watching “Star Wars” at the time and that surveillance video and photos showing the brutal attack were “photoshopped.”

FDNY Lieutenant Alison Russo-Elling, 61, was getting food in Queens when Peter Zisopoulos, 35, allegedly knocked her over and stabbed her 19 times with a steak knife, as CrimeOnline previously reported. After the stabbing, he barricaded himself in his apartment which was located nearby. Police eventually got him to surrender and took him into custody.

Zisopoulos gave an interview to The New York Post, claiming someone set him up.

“That day I was inside watching TV. I never went outside,” he said.

Zisopoulos was sent to the upstate Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center during the past year and was recently found mentally fit for trial.

“A guy that looks like me, there’s a guy that looks like me stabbing her,” he said. “They have phony pictures. They photoshopped it. I guess they really hate me.”

Russo-Elling was a 9/11 World Trade Center first responder who was planning her retirement — in six months — at the time of the attack. A

Zisopoulos has pleaded not guilty to second degree murder and faces up to life in prison if convicted.

“I got arrested in a police raid. My apartment was raided by SWAT,” Zisopoulos told The Post. “I was sitting on my bed. It wasn’t a commercial break. I think I finished watching the movie. I was just thinking to myself, staring at the wall. Then I heard knocking and the police wanted to come in but I didn’t let them in. So they kicked in the metal door and I got arrested.”

Zisopoulos said it was “easier for them to convict me than it is to convict the average person, because I have an illness.”

152 Migrants Present in Lampedusa Hotspot

(ANSA) — ROME, SEP 24 — There were just 152 migrants and refugees in the hotspot on Lampedusa on Sunday afternoon following a hiatus in sea arrivals due to rough seas.

There have been no arrivals since Thursday on the tiny Sicilian island that is Europe’s southernmost landmass and closer to Tunisia than it is to Italy.

Of the group still present after recent transfers off the island, 128 were reportedly unaccompanied migrants.

The authorities often struggle to find reception places for children on their own given the legal obligation to accommodate them in dedicated facilities.

Lampedusa has come under the spotlight in recent weeks following an apparent sudden surge in migrant boat landings from north Africa.

At one point, the number of migrants and refugees on the island outnumbered the local population of around 6,000.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Scores Big Ninth Circuit Win for Religious Liberty and Freedom of Association

Belief-based student groups won an important victory last week in Fellowship of Christian Athletes v. San Jose Unified School District, which restored the ability of many such groups to meet on public campuses and in public schools in the many western states covered by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Religious and other belief-based groups often limit candidates for leadership — and sometimes membership — to those who agree to a statement of principles. After all, it makes little sense to force a Muslim group, for example, to allow Christians or atheists to be its leaders, or for the College Republicans to allow Democrats to hold club office.

That’s why FIRE submitted an amicus curiae — “friend of the court” — brief in support of such groups’ rights to have such requirements. But until last week’s en banc decision, the right to do so in the Ninth Circuit was tenuous at best.

Germany: Catholic Priests Bless Same-Sex Couples at Cologne Cathedral

German Catholic priests performed a mass blessing of same-sex couples at the historic Cologne Cathedral on Wednesday (September 20th) evening in front of some 500 attendees, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported. The ceremony also doubled as a protest against Cologne Cardinal Rainer Woelki, who stands against the radical liberalization of the German Catholic church, and is also a sign of open defiance of the Vatican’s edicts.

According to the journal, numerous gay and lesbian couples were blessed at the event, while the crowd waved rainbow flags and sang the Beatles’ hit “All You Need Is Love.” About a dozen conservative Catholics demonstrated against the ceremony but were quickly surrounded by radical progressive counter protesters, who attempted to intimidate them by shouting and booing loudly.

Woke James Bond Novels Replace Him With Disabled Black Gay Superspy

by Daniel Greenfield

“Do you expect me to talk?” No, I expect you to go woke.”

Earlier this year word came that Ian Fleming Publications Ltd, which controls the rights to the deceased author’s novels, hired sensitivity readers to go through his books and purge anything that might offend sensitive woke souls. The newly republished novels warn that, “this book was written at a time when terms and attitudes which might be considered offensive by modern readers were commonplace.”

Now that old Bond is dead, a new woke Bond can safely rise. Even though Ian Fleming has been dead since 1964, the estate turned to other authors to prime the giant money pump. Initially new Bond novels were written by prestigious writers like Kingsley Amis or former military men like John Gardner, but in more recent years turned the books over to wokes.

The latest of these come from Kim Sherwood, a University of Edinburgh lecturer who is interested in “women’s stories” and was authorized to write a feminist James Bond trilogy.

How do you write a feminist trilogy around one of the least feminist fictional characters around?

Easy, get rid of him…

  1. Yeah. My grandmother told me what the Germans and Ukrainian punitive forces did to the Jews in Ukraine during the Second World War. Zelensky is an unprincipled Jew.

  2. Jewish president of Ukraine Zelensky, glorifying in Canadian Parliament , SS-Nazi ,Ukrainian Murderer of Jews and Poles..
What World we are living in ?

  3. Ok. I will join the Nazi in glorifying him. By glorifying him as a Ukrainian and ALSO Canad. they will glorify me too. It will pass as the sheeple are too stupid to know. If someone knows I will just apologize. We always do that. and nothing happens.

Have you ever seen someone imprisoned for telling lies? Or being dishonet or dishonorable or having zero conscience?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  4. Why can’t the Russians and Ukraine people be good boys and girls and just forget those twenty or so dead? Never mind.

  5. After Stalin and the Soviets, and so many dead, one can’t entirely blame some Ukrainians for seeing the Nazis as saviours.

  6. Gee after Stalin murdered millions of Ukrainians in the 30s what Ukrainian wouldn’t fight the communists? I am so sick of the ignorant who slander all who wore the German uniform as Nazis. Look up Cpt Morton and then tell me if all American soldiers should be condemned. And he wasn’t the only one.

Also tell me if our leaders were so honorable, why did they declare war on the Germans for invading Poland but not on the Russians who invaded Poland along side their Nazi allies?

There are no good guys or bad guys, only the dead and survivors. Anyone who believes differently has never experienced war.
