Dem Megadonor Under Federal Investigation Bankrolled Lawmakers Overseeing the Agency He Was Lobbying

Sam Bankman-Fried, prolific Democratic donor and ex-CEO of now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, funded the campaigns of members of Congress overseeing the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), one of the key bodies tasked with regulating the crypto industry and the subject of Bankman-Fried’s aggressive lobbying.

Bankman-Fried’s FTX is currently under investigation by the CFTC and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after Bankman-Fried allegedly moved $10 billion in client assets from his crypto exchange to his trading firm Alameda Research, and a liquidity crisis at his exchange which prompted the company to file for bankruptcy. However, prior to the agency’s probe, Bankman-Fried aggressively courted the CFTC — and funded several key lawmakers charged with overseeing the agency, pouring cash into their campaign coffers.

FTX Founder Spent $40 Million as Democrat Midterm Megadonor

Leading up to Sam Bankman-Fried’s spectacular implosion — in which his firm FTX evaporated billions in wealth after the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange allegedly commingled client assets with his trading firm into a liquidity crunch — he became the sixth-largest donor in this year’s midterm election cycle, giving some $40 million to mostly Democratic candidates and causes.

According to Forbes, Bankman-Fried was second only to George Soros among billionaire donors to Democratic groups during the 2022 midterm election cycle.

FTX Hit by Mysterious $662 Million Outflow Amid Revelation That SBF Implemented Bookkeeping “Backdoor”

Summary:

Sam Bankman-Fried’s now bankrupted crypto exchange FTX plunged into further chaos late Friday night and Saturday morning after the company detected unauthorized transactions.

Bloomberg said the exchange was “hit by a mysterious outflow of about $662 million in tokens in the past 24 hours.”

These outflows came just hours after FTX filed for bankruptcy on Friday, and customers rushed to withdraw $6 billion over the last several days amid a failed Binance rescue deal.

‘No Other Way’ — Globalist Hunt Prepares British Public for Tax Hikes, Service Cuts

Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer is laying the groundwork for a series of tax hikes and service cuts in the name of fighting inflation.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, the failed 2019 Conservative Party leadership election contender who serves as finance minister to Rishi Sunak, the failed September 2022 Conservative Party leadership election contender — now Prime Minister anyway — will announce a budget on November 17th, in the wake of Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures suggesting the British economy contracted in the third quarter of 2022.

Sam Bankman-Fried is ‘Under Supervision’ in Bahamas, Looking to Flee to Dubai

FTX former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, co-founder Gary Wang and director of engineering Nishad Singh are understood to be in the Bahamas and are “under supervision” by the local authorities.

The source familiar with the matter told Cointelegraph that the three former FTX executives, as well as Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison, are looking for ways to flee to Dubai, which “doesn’t have any extradition treaties” — likely in reference to the United States.

UK Heads for Long Recession as Economy Shrinks by 0.2%

In its first estimate of growth in the third quarter, the Office for National Statistics presented a bleak picture of the economy before next week’s autumn statement from the Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt.

The Bank of England expects the latest gross domestic product figures to be the start of a prolonged UK recession — as rising interest rates and the cost of living take their toll on activity — lasting until the end of next year. Another negative growth figure for the final three months of 2022 would confirm a technical recession.

The ONS said the performance of the economy in the three months to September had been affected by the extra bank holiday for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which led to weaker activity.

The reading comes just a week after the Bank of England published a caveated forecast that the UK might be headed for an eight-quarter recession, the longest consecutive recession since reliable records began in the 1920s.

“Your Words Are Violence!”: Coulter Cancelled at Cornell

Authored by Jonathan Turley

This week, we saw another incident of protesters shutting down an event to prevent others from hearing opposing views. At an event with commentator and author Ann Coulter, one protester yelled “Your words are violence.” It is the latest example of how some on the left are treating free speech as harm on college campuses. Unlike many other incidents, however, Cornell has stood by the right of the student group, Network of Enlightened Women, to hold the event and pledged to hold students accountable for the cancellation of the speech.

Students and faculty previously pressured Cornell to cancel Coulter as someone who engages in “hate speech” and declared her speaking on campus as harmful. Cornell stood with free speech. However, the event lasted only 30 minutes until protesters succeeded in shouting down Coulter.

2 Planes Crash Mid-Flight During Airshow in Dallas

The Wings Over Dallas Airshow was being held at Dallas Executive Airport near U.S. 67 in the Red Bird area of southwest Dallas

Dallas Fire-Rescue reported an Alert 3 — Aircraft Emergency, after a mid-air collision involving two historic military planes at Dallas Executive Airport in Texas.

A Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra collided and crashed to the ground at the Wings Over Dallas Airshow around 1:20 p.m. Saturday, according to the FAA.

“It’s like literally as you looked up you saw the big plane and then you saw one of the little planes split off from the three and then as soon as it split off it’s like they just collided into each other and the little plane split the big plane in half. I honestly can’t believe that we witnessed that, like just standing here underneath it.” said Morgan Curry who saw the crash from a nearby parking lot. “We were all just standing there like ‘what just happened?’“

Alleged Robber, Witness Fatally Shoot Each Other During Hold-Up at South Shore Store: Police

A robbery near 73rd Street and Coles Avenue ended with two men dead, including the suspect and a concealed carry license holder who tried to intervene.

A would-be robber and a witness who tried to stop the hold-up inside a South Shore grocery fatally shot each other Friday night, police said.

The exchange of gunfire started about 6:20 p.m. when Nicholas Williams walked into the supermarket in the 2600 block of East 73rd Street and showed a handgun, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Williams, 24, shot Ali Hassan, 63, in the chest and back, authorities said.

Hassan, who had a Firearm Owner’s Identification card with a concealed carry license, pulled a gun from his waistband and fired back, authorities said, hitting Williams in the chest.

The younger man ran from the store but collapsed about a block away in the 7200 block of South Coles, where he was pronounced dead. Williams lived in the neighborhood.

Hassan, a Berwyn resident, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and he died there soon after, authorities said.

Three guns were recovered from the scene — both Hassan’s and Williams’ guns, as well as another gun behind the counter, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Hassan worked at the market. Police said there was another witness inside the store who wasn’t hurt.

The shooting is still under investigation.

Biden Mixes Up His Countries and Continents Again on Trip to Regional Summit

Colombia is apparently “top of mind” for President Joe Biden, who seemed to confuse the South America nation with Cambodia while traveling to Phnom Penh for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit and again Saturday while thanking Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen for his leadership as chair.

“Now that we’re back together here in Cambodia, I look forward to building even stronger progress than we’ve already made, and I want to thank the Prime Minister of Colombia for his leadership as ASEAN chair and for hosting all of us,” Biden declared as he opened the summit, according to Reuters.

Biden similarly referred to Cambodia as the South American nation when talking with reporters before departing for the ASEAN summit announcing that he was “heading over to Colombia” before correcting himself, reported Fox News.

Corporate America Bombards Black People With Junk Food Ads

A new study reveals corporate America disproportionately targets Black and Hispanic consumers with junk food, such as candy, sugary drinks, snacks, and fast food, more than any other race.

The Rudd Center for Food and Policy Health at the University of Connecticut found Black youth and adults were subjected to 21% more junk food ads than their white counterparts. Researchers said corporate America boosted their advertising budgets on Spanish-speaking television stations as a total proportion of their ad budget.

As the advertising industry drastically changes, companies are embracing celebrities and influencers to promote their products on television and social media. Researchers said advertisers hired celebrities from Black and Hispanic communities to encourage young people of color to purchase junk food.

Exclusive: CIA Director’s Former Think Tank Hired Experts From Nonprofits Controlled by Chinese Spy Agencies

An elite Washington, D.C., think tank has employed individuals who’ve worked for front groups controlled by Chinese spy agencies, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace has employed over a dozen individuals who’ve worked in a range of capacities at China-based nonprofits set up or co-opted by Chinese intelligence agencies, including the Ministry of State Security (MSS) and the intel arm of the People’s Liberation Army.

These individuals have served as experts in various policy areas, including international relations, American politics and nuclear policy while working at both the think tank’s D.C. headquarters and at its Tsinghua University center in Beijing. Moreover, not only did Carnegie employ the majority of these experts while current CIA Director William Burns was president of the think tank, but, according to the nonprofit’s current records, Carnegie still employs individuals working for Chinese intelligence front groups.

FBI Should Have 14 Days, Not 66 Years, To Produce Seth Rich Information: Lawyer

Authored by Zachary Stieber via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

The FBI should only have 14 days, not 66 years, to produce information from Seth Rich’s laptop computer, a lawyer argued in a new court filing.

After a U.S. judge ordered the FBI to produce the information, the bureau said that it should not be required to hand it over because of exemptions to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). And if the bureau still had to produce the information, government lawyers said it should have 66 years because it needs to review the information and redact certain information.

Ty Clevenger, the attorney representing Brian Huddleston, the Texas man who sued the FBI over the information, disagreed.

Hubble Captures 3 Faces of Evolving Supernova in the Early Universe

Three different moments in a far-off supernova explosion were captured in a single snapshot by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. The star exploded more than 11 billion years ago, when the universe was less than a fifth of its current age of 13.8 billion years.

This is the first detailed look at a supernova so early in the universe’s history. The research could help scientists learn more about the formation of stars and galaxies in the early universe. The supernova images are also special because they show the early stages of a stellar explosion.

“It is quite rare that a supernova can be detected at a very early stage, because that stage is really short,” explained Wenlei Chen, first author of the paper and a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Minnesota School of Physics and Astronomy. “It only lasts for hours to a few days, and it can be easily missed even for a nearby detection. In the same exposure, we are able to see a sequence of the images—like multiple faces of a supernova.”

This was possible through a phenomenon called gravitational lensing, which was first predicted in Einstein’s theory of general relativity. In this case, the immense gravity of the galaxy cluster Abell 370 acted as a cosmic lens, bending and magnifying the light from the more distant supernova located behind the cluster.

Human Skulls, Skeletal Remains Unearthed by Hurricane Nicole on Florida Beach

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Remains of six human bodies were unearthed Thursday along Chastain Beach after Hurricane Nicole tore through the east coast of Florida, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said a beachgoer discovered the remains, which are believed to belong to Native Americans — potentially centuries old.

The man who found the remains said he called authorities upon discovery to make sure the bones were properly cared for.

According to the sheriff’s office, skulls and several leg bones were found.

“The bones will be turned over to historians from some of the local universities are here,” Deputy Jon Budensiek said. “They will make sure they are properly respected and preserved for history.”

Budensiek said the bones will be laid back where they were originally found.

He also urged people to not look for the remains, as it’s a felony crime to dig up artifacts like these.

Two Planes Collide Mid-Air in Fatal Dallas Air Show Crash

DALLAS Two World War II-era planes collided in midair Saturday afternoon in a deadly crash at the Wings Over Dallas Airshow at the Dallas Executive Airport.

The planes involved were a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA said the two planes collided and crashed to the ground around 1:20 p.m.

Officials have not confirmed the number of fatalities or the extent of any injuries but said the B-17 had a crew of four or five people, while the Kingcobra was flown by a single pilot. No paying customers were on board.

The Allied Pilots Association said in a tweet Saturday night that two of its former members were killed on board the B-17. The pilots association, which is the union that represents American Airlines pilots, identified the crew members as Terry Barker and Len Root, who retired in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

“Our hearts go out to their families, friends, and colleagues past and present,” the tweet read.

Violent San Diego Antifa Member Sentenced to Nearly Five Years in Prison

The first of 11 Antifa defendants who rioted in Pacific Beach more than a year ago was sentenced to prison on Thursday. Erich Louis “Nikki” Yach, now 38, admitted to three violent felonies in a plea deal and was sentenced to 56 months in a California state prison. Yach will have 362 days credited against his time in prison, for the 316 days served along with “good time custody credits.”

Those who were victims of Yach during the Antifa riot in Pacific Beach, California, on January 9, 2021, were expected to speak Thursday morning in court, but none appeared on the courtroom’s video monitor. The hearing had been moved to a different, numbered courtroom so that might have been a contributing factor to their absence.

Woman Arrested for Stabbing Man With Grilling Fork

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Shaquita Joyce McLean, 35, was arrested on Thursday and charged with aggravated battery and obstructing justice after allegedly stabbing a man with a grilling fork. It was also her second arrest in three days.

The victim reportedly told an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that he and McLean have known each other for several months and that he often drove her to work. On Thursday, McLean came over to his house to watch a movie, and the victim said he was laughing at the movie but McLean thought he was laughing at her; she allegedly produced a knife and tried to stab him. The victim said he was able to evade the attack and took the knife from her but received a cut on his forearm that was about two inches long.

The victim reportedly said that McLean then went to the kitchen and found a two-pronged grilling fork, then stabbed him in the upper abdomen, resulting in a two-inch wound.

Post Miranda, McLean reportedly said the victim had grabbed her while she was walking and dragged her into his apartment. She said she was choked until she was almost unconscious but fought off her attacker by hitting him with a clothes iron and then a fire extinguisher.

However, the deputy reportedly found text messages on McLean’s phone between her and the victim, proving that they weren’t strangers. When McLean was asked to explain that, she reportedly said she lets random people in Holly Heights use her phone.

A white jacket with fresh blood stains was found in the bushes near where McLean was detained; when she was asked why she discarded the jacket, she said she didn’t know why she threw it in the bushes.

After McLean was arrested, she reportedly said she wanted to tell the truth and admitted that she had gone to the victim’s house to “chill” and later decided to leave. She said that the victim grabbed her by the arm to prevent her from leaving, and she saw a knife and grabbed it but the victim sliced his own arm when he reached for the knife. She reportedly said he wrestled her over the knife and choked her, so she got the meat fork and the victim approached her, stabbing himself in the abdomen.

The report notes that blood was found in various spots on the floor, walls, and furniture, and there were a knife and grilling fork with blood on them. A clothes iron and fire extinguisher were also reportedly found on the floor.

McLean was also arrested on Nov. 8 on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving without a valid license; she was pulled over for driving 20 mph under the speed limit and cited again for driving without a valid license.

The government of Canada’s website says that those whose only medical condition is a mental illness will not be eligible for MAID until March 2023, meaning that it will be fully available for those with just a mental condition after that date.

Spain Orders ‘Biomonitoring’ of Its Population

The aim of the government’s biomonitoring programme is to investigate what damage to health the more than 23 000 chemical substances registered in the EU could cause. “Emerging risks” are expected to be included.

The left-socialist government coalition around Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez claims to be concerned that the population is being exposed to more and more chemical substances and products that are harmful to health.

Therefore, on November 3, 2022, it was officially ordered that the population should be subjected to “biomonitoring” with immediate effect. The Supreme Court Judges’ Green Light to Protestors: Just Stop Oil Eco-Zealots Are Understood to be Exploiting a Legal Loophole to Block Roads and Cause Travel Chaos Across the UK

Supreme Court judges were last night blamed for giving the green light to eco-zealots to cause mayhem on Britain’s roads.

The Mail on Sunday understands that activists from Just Stop Oil are exploiting an extraordinary legal ruling made by the country’s most senior judges more than a year ago that protests can be a ‘lawful excuse’ to block roads.

The ruling followed the prosecution of four anti-arms trade protesters who blocked a road leading to the ExCel Centre while it hosted an arms fair in September 2017.

In June 2021 the Supreme Court, established by Tony Blair’s Labour government, reversed a High Court decision and overturned the protesters’ convictions.

It ruled that protesters can have a ‘lawful excuse’ defence under the European Convention of Human Rights against the offence of obstructing a highway, even where they have used ‘deliberately physically obstructive conduct.’

Protection From 4th Dose of COVID Vaccine Wanes Completely Within Months: Study

Authored by Lia Onely via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

An Israeli study found that antibody levels after a fourth dose of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine returned to similar levels as after the 3rd dose after about four months.

The study, conducted among health care workers at the Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital in Israel, found that the immunological protection of the 4th dose “was much smaller and had waned completely by 13 weeks after vaccination.”

It found “no substantial additional effectiveness over a third dose at 15 to 26 weeks after vaccination.”

Ukrainians Fly EU Flag in Kherson to Celebrate Russian Retreat

A regional official has confirmed that the Ukrainian flag has been raised Friday over the contested city of Kherson, two days after Russian forces commander Gen. Sergei Surovikin announced a major withdrawal of his troops in a surprise admission being interpreted internationally as a major strategic defeat in the south.

Reuters has cited Ukrainian regional lawmaker Serhiy Khlan to say the “final stage of reclaiming the west bank of the Dnipro River in the southern Kherson region” is underway, after Russian forces moved to the opposite side in a draw down from the city. The flag of the European Union was also seen raised alongside the Ukrainian flag over the city’s central administrative building, with photos widely circulating on social media.

Some 810 of the alleged Russian casualties — claims of enemy losses by both parties in the conflict are near-impossible to fully verify, given the circumstances — were inflicted in the last day of the fighting, reported Ukrinform, citing a post on the official Facebook page of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Mr Jenrick proposed switching luxury rooms for ‘simple, functional’ spaces in abandoned student housing, defunct holiday parks and even budget cruise ships.

He told The Sunday Telegraph basic accommodation could remove the ‘pull factor’ that’s encouraging so many migrants to risk their lives seeking a better future in the UK.

New York City to Close Migrant Encampment in Favor of Hotels Amid Surge in Arrivals

Just one month opening a tent city on Randall’s Island, New York City is shutting it and transferring the adult single male migrants who have been living in the makeshift complex to the Watson Hotel in Manhattan.

The 84,000-square-foot facility was opened in October to assist with the sharp increase of asylum seekers being transferred to New York City primarily from the overwhelmed Texas-Mexico border. The Randall’s Island facility boasted such amenities as fluff-and-fold laundry service, an array of entertainment including TV and video games and “culturally appropriate” meals from a rotating menu.

Where is the Italian Asylum Crackdown?

The hope that there would be a drastic change in asylum policy under the new Italian right-wing government has already received a severe setback.

Two weeks after taking office, Giorgia Meloni is faced with a growing dilemma: The alleged “rescue” ship Geo Barents was allowed to dock in Catania on Sicily, whereupon 357 migrants went ashore.

The authorities had previously allowed 144 of the 179 migrants to leave the Humanity 1, which also anchored in Catania on Saturday evening. The captain of the ship, Joachim Ebeling, had obtrusively refused to leave Catania again, as the Italian government demanded.

Meanwhile, two more “rescue” ships are waiting offshore: the German ship Rise Above with 90 people on board and the Norwegian Ocean Viking with 234 migrants.

Federal Judge Strikes Down a Key Part of President Biden’s Transgender Agenda

A federal judge has reversed a Biden Administration rule that directed the Department of Health and Human Services to increase access to sex change surgeries and hormone therapies, including to children, in a Friday ruling.

Biden’s HHS said in May 2021 that it would interpret a section of the Affordable Care Act, which bars doctors from discriminating on the basis of sex, as covering sexual orientation and gender identity. Two doctors represented by the America First Legal Foundation brought a class action lawsuit against the Biden administration after the HHS took the action, arguing that the rule would interfere with their ability to properly practice medicine.

Feuchtwanger was 14 when the Gestapo arrested his father on 10 November 1938, part of the coordinated pogrom known as Kristallnacht, which included the detentions of 30,000 Jews in Germany and Austria, the deaths of 91, and the widespread ransacking of Jewish-owned stores and synagogues. Edgar’s father Ludwig was then imprisoned at the Dachau concentration camp, and 14-year-old Edgar’s sense of security crumbled.

When his father was released six weeks later, the family considered relocation options. They dismissed Palestine and Prague[and ultimately managed to obtain entry visas to Britain, and in February 1939, Edgar boarded a train bound for London. His father accompanied him as far as the Dutch border, and then returned to Germany to finish arrangements for him and his wife to follow. In May of that year, the family was re-united in England. From 1944 to 1947, Edgar studied at Magdalene College in Cambridge, where he received his doctorate in 1958. From 1959, he taught history at University of Southampton, until he retired in 1989. In 2003, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

  2. News the UK …. another 900 migrants came int UK yesterday. There are reports that another 300 have been ‘rescued’ so far this morning and there are ongoing rescues in the Channel right now.

Yesterday on GBNews a short video was shown of what looked like 80 – 100 migrants throwing rocks and pieces of wood at French Police on a beach at Dunkerque, because they were stopping ’em getting into boats.

The rumor is that an agreement has been reached by UK Government with Macron about stopping this invasion but all we know so far is that UK Border Force staff will be allowed on French beaches!! They will not have any legal authority to tackle the migrants or arrest them or defend themselves if the migrants start attacking. Still it goes on.

    • Give me a dozen fast attack boats armed to the teeth and I would put a stop to it in less than a month. I’d sink the border farce boats as well as they are nothing but a taxi service.

  3. A bomb blast occurred on the main pedestrian street in Turkey’s largest city, multiple casualties have been reported. Erdogan and wife are looking very alert. Not so sure about the EU. G over to you.

    • Muslims doing what they do best, kill each other if they are not trying to kill us. Could be from over a dozen entities of islamic jihad or secular Kurds??
