BLM Rioter Sentenced to Federal Prison for Burning Down Minneapolis Shop After Fire Killed Man
Black Lives Matter rioter Montez Terriel Lee Jr., of Rochester, New York, was sentenced Friday to 120 months in federal prison for his role in burning down a Minneapolis pawn shop during the destructive George Floyd riots in May 2020.
Judge Wilhelmina M. Wright, the judge presiding over the case who granted a variance from sentencing guidance which outlined 235 to 240 months, handed down Lee’s prison sentence in US District Court in St. Paul.

Breaking: Brother of Convicted Jihadi Terrorist Takes Hostages at Texas Synagogue
Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, was in the middle of Shabbat services that were being livestreamed on Facebook, when a gunman burst in and took hostages. As of this writing, the situation is ongoing, but some details have already emerged.
Amichai Stein of Kan, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, reports that “The gunman says he is muslim and holding atleast 6 people says ‘he will kill people if anyone gets close to the synagogue.’“ Before the livestream from the synagogue was cut off, the gunman could be heard ranting in a foreign language that, according to journalist and trial attorney Marina Medvin, turned out to be Arabic. Medvin noted that the gunman said, “Are you listening? I am going to die. So don’t cry for me…”

Ghislaine Maxwell has given up on her battle to keep ‘vast swathes of information’ about her ‘sex trafficking operation’ with Jeffrey Epstein sealed after alleged victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre requested they be made public.
Attorneys for Giuffre, who has accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, asked Judge Loretta Preska Wednesday to unseal material from her 2015 civil lawsuit against Maxwell that includes references to eight anonymous John Does.

Florida Teen Converts to Islam, Murders 13-Year-Old Boy
When Corey Johnson was 17, he murdered a 13-year-old boy, Jovanni Sierra Brand, and stabbed two other people because they “idolized celebrities and disrespected his Muslim faith.” Johnson is now 21. On Thursday, he got a life sentence for the murder, but no one seems to be pondering the larger implications of the case.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed 11 executive actions on his Inauguration Day, including ones banning critical race theory in public education, appointing an entirely new parole board, ending mandates on masks in schools and COVID-19 vaccines for state employees.
But questions remain on whether the new governor has the authority to implement such changes with executive orders, specifically the ban on critical race theory. The new governor’s orders could also face legal challenges that prevent Youngkin from moving forward.

Man Takes Hostages at Colleyville Synagogue, Demands Prisoner be Freed; 1 Released
No injuries reported; Colleyville Police tweeted Saturday afternoon that it was conducting SWAT operations at the address of Congregation Beth Israel
A man has taken a rabbi and at least three other people hostage at a synagogue in Colleyville Saturday in a reported attempt to free a Pakistani woman with ties to al-Qaeda, leading to a standoff with law enforcement, authorities say.
U.S. Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX 24th District), whose district includes Colleyville, said during a phone interview with NBC 5 late Saturday afternoon that she had learned one of the hostages may have been released due to a medical issue. Police later said confirmed a man had been released unharmed and was going to be reunited with his family, but that he did not require medical attention.
At this time there have been no injuries reported.
The Colleyville Police Department tweeted at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday that it was conducting SWAT operations at the address of Congregation Beth Israel on Pleasant Run Road. Colleyville Police spokeswoman Sgt. Dara Nelson later confirmed to NBC 5 that there were in communication with someone inside the synagogue and that there were other people inside as well.
At least four hostages were believed to be inside the synagogue, according to two law enforcement officials who were not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation and who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity. Miami Rapper Wavy Navy Pooh Fatally Shot While Driving

MIAMI (AP) — Miami rapper Wavy Navy Pooh was killed in an ambush shooting as he drove with two young children. Local media reports that the 28-year-old rapper was stopped at a light Friday evening when a car pulled along side and someone inside opened fire, killing him. Two children, ages 5 and 1, and a woman were also in his car but it were not hurt. Beaubien is best known for his song “M.I.A.M.I. (Murder is a Major Issue). MIT Research Scientist Says Kids Should Not Receive COVID Vaccines
A research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) said Thursday that parents should do everything they can to avoid giving their children the coronavirus vaccine, insisting that the potential harm far outweighs the benefits.
I think it is “outrageous to be giving vaccines to young people because they have a very, very low risk of dying from COVID,” Dr. Stephanie Seneff said in an on-air interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News Thursday evening.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and the Biden administration have been slammed for refusing to properly describe the hostage situation in Texas, where a suspected Islamist jihadist took hostage a Jewish synagogue in Colleyville, a Fort Worth suburb.
In a post on Twitter, Psaki wrote, “[The President of the United States] has been briefed about the developing hostage situation in the Dallas area.”
“He will continue to receive updates from his senior team as the situation develops,” the Biden admin staffer added. “Senior members of the national security team are also in touch with federal law enforcement leadership.”
As detailed by The Post Millennial, one suspect has taken the Rabbi and three others hostage at the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, TX. The suspect is claiming to be armed and says his sister is Aafia Siddiqui. Siddiqui was convicted in New York of trying to kill US military personnel and is currently incarcerated. Aafia Siddiqui’s brother has since come out with a statement, clarifying he is not the suspect in the Synagogue.
Psaki’s curious failure to describe the hostage situation for what it is — that a suspected jihadist took a Jewish synagogue hostage — was noted by many on social media.

Report: Pandemic Higher Education Drop-Outs Total 938,000 Since 2019
A report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center shows that hundreds of thousands of students have dropped out of higher education across the United States since the start of the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing lockdowns.
The Center’s Term Enrollment Estimates Fall 2021 report revealed enrollment in higher education continues to decline:
Higher education enrollment fell a further 2.7 percent in the fall of 2021 following a 2.5 percent drop in the preceding fall. Continued enrollment losses in the pandemic represent a total two-year decline of 5.1 percent or 938,000 students since fall 2019.
Undergraduate enrollment alone fell by 3.1 percent or 465,300 students over last year. Every institution sector saw undergraduate enrollment drops, with the largest numerical drops at public four-year institutions (251,400 students or —3.8 percent) and the steepest percentage decline at private for-profit four-year colleges (-11.1 percent or 65,500 students). Community colleges saw smaller enrollment drops (-3.4 percent or 161,800 students) than in the previous fall, but the number of associate degree-seeking students enrolled at four-year institutions fell much more steeply compared to the previous year (-11.0 percent at public four-year —6.2 percent at private nonprofit four-year, and —11.9 percent at private for-profit four-year institutions).
Freshman enrollment stabilized following a precipitous decline in fall 2020, up about 0.4 percent or 8,100 students, primarily driven by freshmen number increases in private nonprofit four-year colleges. However, far from recovering from last year’s drop, the nation’s fall 2021 freshman class was 9.2 percent smaller (or 213,400 fewer students) compared to pre-pandemic levels in fall 2019.

The suspension was announced on Friday, with the Bongino Report Twitter account announcing the suspension that YouTube said was due to violating the Big Tech platform’s “misinformation” policy.

Did Spanish Authorities Stage the 2017 Barcelona Jihad Attack?
The allegations were made in Spain, but they have implications for the United States and the entire Western world. Jose Manuel Villarejo, who was at the time a senior officer in Spain’s National Police Corps, has made a startling allegation: he claimed Wednesday that the vehicular attack in Barcelona on Aug. 17, 2017, was staged by the country’s National Intelligence Service (CNI) in order to discourage Catalonians from voting for independence in a referendum that was then upcoming.
The attack was horrifying. A man named Younes Abouyaaqoub drove a van into a crowd of people on La Rambla in Barcelona, murdering 13 and injuring at least 130. According to Scotland’s The National, “five members of the jihadist cell launched a knife attack on the beachfront at Cambrils, having driven there the day after the Barcelona attack. All five men were shot dead by police. Three men who helped in the attacks were last year sentenced to jail terms of between eight and 53 years. It later emerged that the alleged mastermind of the attacks, an imam in the city of Ripoll, was a CNI informant.”

Germany: Thousands Protest Coronavirus Pandemic Policies
Thousands of people across Germany gathered for coronavirus demonstrations on Saturday.
The protests in Germany came as the country hit a new record infection rate. The Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases (RKI) recorded 497.1 new cases per 100,000 people in the past seven days. That’s higher than the last reported peak of 485.1, recorded on November 29.
Similar protests also took place on Saturday in other European countries, including Italy, Austria and France, as governments move toward making vaccination against COVID-19 mandatory.

Protesters Hit French Streets to Fight New COVID-19 Vaccine Pass
PARIS (AFP) — Thousands demonstrated in cities across France on Saturday (Jan 15) against tighter restrictions on people not vaccinated against Covid-19, as parliamentary wrangling continued over the draft law.
In the capital Paris, the largest single gathering set off from near the Eiffel Tower, called by fringe anti-EU presidential candidate Florian Philippot.
Other demonstrations harked back to the 2018-19 “yellow jackets” protests against President Emmanuel Macron’s perceived favouring of the wealthy, while there were further gatherings in major cities like Bordeaux, Toulouse and Lille.

Thousands Protest Planned Austrian Vaccine Mandate in Vienna
Thousands protested in Austrian capital Vienna on Saturday as the government prepares to vote on making COVID-19 vaccines mandatory.
Austria’s parliament will vote on the issue this week after the government announced back in November that it would mandate vaccination for all residents, Reuters reported. Austria would be the first country in the European Union to impose such a mandate, if it passes.

Treason: Former Danish Defence Minister Charged With Leaking State Secrets
Former Danish Defense Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen has been charged with leaking state secrets just days after it was revealed the head of the country’s intelligence agency had been arrested.
Frederiksen confirmed the charges against him on Friday in a statement released by the Danish Liberal Party stating, “I can confirm that I have been charged under the Criminal Code article 109 for violating the limits of my freedom of speech. UK: Cambridge Extinction Rebellion Protesters Spray Fake Oil on University of Cambridge Building
Protesters from two activist groups sprayed fake oil on a University of Cambridge building last night (January 14) to launch a new campaign against the oil giant, Schlumberger.
The oilfield services company Schlumberger has connections with the University of Cambridge and the two groups, Extinction Rebellion Cambridge and Extinction Rebellion Youth Cambridge vandalised the Senate House in a new campaign.
The activists stencilled: “SCHLUMBERGER — CLIMATE KILLERS — CUT TIES NOW” on the University’s governing building.

A DAD who forced his paedo pal to dig his own grave after he raped his six-year-old daughter will NOT be charged with murder.
The father was accused of knifing friend Oleg Sviridov in a furious revenge killing after discovering graphic footage on his pal’s mobile phone of him sexually abusing his daughter.
In harrowing footage, the sickened dad’s daughter, now eight, was heard pleading: “Oleg, that’s enough, I can’t take it anymore. I want to go home”.
The 34-year-old was suspected of stabbing Sviridov, 32, to death in a Russian forest after making him dig his own grave.
He originally faced a murder investigation — but has now been told this has been dropped, sources close to the case say.
In a landmark decision, he will instead face prosecution for inciting Sviridov to take his own life, which carries a lesser sentence than murder.

Get Away From Shore: US and Japan Warn on Tsunami
The US and Japan have advised people on their Pacific coastlines to get away from the shore, as tsunami waves caused by a volcano eruption in the South Pacific move across the ocean.
The tsunami advisories mean strong currents and waves are expected, but not a major tsunami event.
People are advised to move away from the sea as a precaution.
Earlier a huge underwater volcanic eruption caused waves of more than a metre to crash into Tonga.
The eruption of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha?apai volcano was heard across the South Pacific, and eventually as far away as the US.
Many parts of Tonga, whose capital is just 65km (40 miles) south of the eruption, are experiencing a near-total blackout of power, phone lines and internet services. The extent of any injuries or damage is still unclear.
Social media footage showed water washing through a church and several homes, and witnesses said ash was falling over the capital, Nuku’alofa.

Two Omicron Studies Are Fantastic News That Should End Mandates and Restrictions
A recent study from South Africa (currently in preprint) attempts to explain why the omicron wave of the COVID-19 pandemic caused less severe illness and death than prior waves of other variants. As Claudio Perez, the presenter on Channel 9, thanked Ferrara at the end of the report, the reporter suddenly mumbled “Sorry Claudio, sorry,” and a thumping sound could be heard through Ferrara’s live microphone feed.
Claudio looked baffled. “What just happened?” he asked. The cameraman then filmed Carlos Ferrara lying face down on the sidewalk with the microphone still in his hand before the feed was cut.
According to Channel 9 Ferrara collapsed, but his condition is stable and he remains under observation in hospital.
The collapse of Ferrara on air comes in the wake of a similar episode involving Brazilian TV presenter Rafael Silva, who suffered a cardiac event on-air just a week after he boasted about his Covid-19 booster shot on Instagram. Recently in Brazil, Olympic diver Ian Matos died only months after his jab due to complications while singer Cantor Maurilio died from thrombosis just six weeks after having received his second dose of the vaccine.

According to the head of the French Office of Immigration and Integration (OFII), just 5,000 people opted to voluntarily return to their country last year despite the French government offering cash to do so.
Didier Leschi, the head of the OFII, stated that just 5,000 migrants living in France illegally had accepted the French state’s offer of a free flight and a sum of up to €1,850 (£1,546/$2,120) in order to return to their home countries last year.

Italy Arrests Four People Smugglers, With One Linked to Four Migrant Deaths, Including a Woman
Italian authorities in Agrigento have arrested four foreign national human traffickers, one of whom is believed to be connected to the deaths of four migrants, including a woman.
The four alleged people smugglers, three Egyptian nationals and a man from Guinea, were taken into custody by Italian state police in the Sicilian city of Agrigento on Thursday morning following an investigation into landings on the island of Lampedusa last month.

Gender Professor Says Biological Sex is a ‘Social Construct’
While progressive academics often draw a distinction between gender and sex in order to position gender as a subjective concept, one California Gender & Sexuality Studies professor is taking transgender ideology to the next level, arguing that sex categories are “also a social construct.”

Teacher Alleges She Was Fired for Not ‘Meowing’ Back at Student Who Identifies as a Cat
A woman who was working as a substitute teacher posted a video to social media alleging she was fired by school officials for not “identifying with” a student who “identifies as a cat” after she refused to meow back at the child in class.
“Okay, okay. I’ve got to rant for a minute,” the teacher says in a short TikTok video. Just when I thought school couldn’t get any weirder, it did today.”
