We´re Headed Toward Stagnation — Unless the Fed Reins in Its Money Printing

Eventually, loose monetary policy will damage real savings to the point that the economy can no longer sustain sufficient economic growth. At that point, it will become clear that money printing can’t create economic growth.

“Second Wave” News Intensifies: MSM Pushes the Fear

The news of a “second wave” of coronavirus infections is making its rounds in the mainstream media once again. Are we on the verge of becoming a totalitarian regime like Australia? Will we be facing a second draconian lockdown?

Infectious-disease experts are warning of a potential cold-weather surge of coronavirus cases — a long-feared “second wave” of infections and deaths, possibly at a catastrophic scale, according to The Washington Post. A few months ago, the mainstream media attempted to ramp up the fear of a second wave, but since not many were getting sick and the death toll began to drop astronomically there was no way that narrative was going to stick. It sure looks like they are trying it once again.

Attorney General Barr Says New York Violence Spike Due to Bail Reform

Attorney General William Barr on Wednesday blamed soaring gun violence and murder in New York City on the state’s bail reform law, which he said allows the near-instantaneous release of suspects who then seek retribution.

Barr blamed the reform law, which passed last year and was amended this year, as he celebrated a one-month halving of Chicago’s murder rate following the deployment of federal agents in the multi-city Operation Legend.

Deaths by Suicide Continue to Rise. Mental Health Workers Worry About the 2020 Effect.

Not every person who plans to jump from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is the same, said Sgt. Kevin Briggs, a former California Highway Patrol officer who helped people experiencing mental crisis come away from the bridge alive.

In the decade he was assigned the bridge detail, Briggs typically rode a motorcycle, and he would stop 10-15 yards away from the person, and gently walk toward them on the 4-foot pedestrian lane. He would first raise his right hand and ask their permission to talk. “Hi, I’m Kevin,” he’d say. “Is it OK if I come up to talk to you for a while?”

He’d wait for an answer.

“It really sets a good tone for the event; you can’t try to grab them, but you want to go up there and develop a rapport,” he said. “Find out what’s going on with them. Ask how did they get to this point today; why do they want to end their life? See if you can get their story.”

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S., with more than 43,000 Americans dying by suicide in 2018, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. That same year, there was an estimated 1.4 million attempted suicides.

Mark Zuckerberg Says Apple “Deserves Scrutiny”

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has added his criticism to long-standing accusations targeting Apple’s App Store policies.

Apple has some rigorous rules in place in its store, allowing it to exercise a great deal of control over apps and their developers, and collect a 30% cut from all in-app purchases that must be implemented via the store.

Apple, that is one of the world’s largest companies, is in a position to dictate how and if smaller entities can do business, and another common criticism is that it abuses this near-monopoly status to stifle competition and limit user choice by banning apps that compete with its own.

Mayor, NYPD Tout Uptick in Gun Arrests as Shootings Continue Citywide

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — There were more shootings across New York City on Wednesday as the NYPD continues to combat rising gun violence.

An NYPD chopper circled overhead Wednesday afternoon after there was more gunfire in Brooklyn. A bullet hole pierced a storefront window on Marcy Avenue.

Tuesday night, nearby on Marcy Avenue, police say around 10:30 p.m., a 42-year-old man was shot in the hand and a 46-year-old woman was shot in the leg after a man started firing a gun at someone else. That person was also hit. The couple was out walking their dogs.

Just after 9 a.m. Wednesday in Red Hook in the area of Bay and Clinton streets, police sources say a 50-year-old woman who had just completed a motorcycle road test was walking back to her car when she heard shots and felt pain.

The woman, a nurse at a hospital on Staten Island, sources say, was struck in the shoulder by a 9mm bullet fired from about half a mile away.

They say she was hit after two men fired at another man. All three took off.

It’s believed to be gang related.

In the 24-hour period Tuesday, police say there were seven shooting incidents and 12 victims.

Republicans Pressure Platforms With New 230 Bill

A group of Senate Republicans introduced a new bill Tuesday aimed at chipping away some of the protections provided to social media companies through Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

The Online Freedom and Viewpoint Diversity Act, introduced by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), would strip away the liability protection provided by Section 230 if a platform restricted access to content without providing specific rules that it violated. The bill would require platforms to have an “objectively reasonable belief” that content violated a specific policy in order for it to be removed, or they could be held liable for their moderation actions.

The bill would also amend language in the original law, changing vague terms like “objectionable” with “promoting terrorism” and “unlawful” as guidance for moderating content.

‘Transforming’ The U.S. — Into What?

At least 13 US cities “have cut funding from police department budgets or decreased officer numbers with several more in the process,” according to a recent report by Forbes. Austin, Texas, one of the recent additions to the list of cities defunding police, cut $150 million, nearly a third of its police budget.

Austin joined a list of major cities that have already voted to defund police. New York and Los Angeles made cuts mere weeks after the current wave of protests began, and in Seattle, the first black police chief of the city, Carmen Best, resignedafter the city council “voted to strip the police department of some resources, including cutting around 100 jobs.”

Several cities however, voted in recent months to increase funding for their police departments, according to a July report by the Wall Street Journal.

Will the Bureaucracy be the Downfall of American Freedom?

Most Americans have no idea as to the scope and power of the federal, state and local bureaucracies. Although all bureaucracies grow by their vary nature, local government has grown the most. From 1990 to 2010 federal government employment has stayed relatively steady. In the same period, state government has grown by about 1,000,000 employees, or a growth rate of almost 24%. Local government on the other hand has grown by 3,700,000 employees, or a whopping 34.3%. The growth rate is directly related to the passage of more laws and the explosive growth in social services.

In the Open the Books Oversight Report entitled “Mapping the Swamp” that analyzed federal employment in 2016, the following observations were made/

Italy: Black Woman Rips Salvini’s Shirt and Rosary Off

At election rally near Florence

(ANSA) — PONTASSIEVE, SEP 9 — A 20-year-old woman from Congo on Wednesday pushed and shoved rightwing League leader Matteo Salvini, ripping his shirt and breaking off the rosary around his neck, as he arrived for an election rally at Pontassieve near Florence.

The young woman was in “a clear state of psycho-physical excitation”, police said.

They said her actions did not appear to have been premeditated.

They said she found herself alongside Salvini as she was returning from work.

Separately, a group of young leftists and anarchists protested Salvini’s visit.

The woman was part of a crowd that had gathered for the League leader’s arrival.

The League is a populist and nationalist anti-migrant and Euroskeptic party.

Salvini said his assailant “should be ashamed of herself”.

He said “anyone can have political, footballing, and religious ideas that are different, but violence no: I can buy another shirt, but ripping from my neck a rosary that a priest gave to me is something out of this world”.

The League leader often kisses his rosary in public, and has been criticised by Italian bishops for making political capital out of his professions of faith.

“The nice thing I take away from Pontassieve,” Salvini went on, “is not that poor woman, but a lady who told me ‘Matteo, I don’t think like you, but I apologise on behalf of that idiot, if you want I’ll buy you a coffee’.” Tuscany is one of seven Italian regions going to the polls to elect new governors and a new government on September 20-21.

Elections will also take place in Val d’Aosta, Campania, Liguria, Marche, Puglia and Veneto.

Elections will also be held in 1,137 out of 7,904 Italian municipalities, including 18 provincial capitals.

They are: Agrigento, Andria, Aosta, Arezzo, Bolzano, Chieti, Crotone, Enna, Fermo, Lecco, Macerata, Mantua, Matera, Nuoro, Reggio Calabria, Trani, Trento and Venice.

Three of these are also regional capitals: Aosta, Trento and Venice.

In a referendum over the same two days, Italians will be asked whether they approve a law that amends the Italian Constitution to reduce the number of MPs in parliament, from 630 to 400 in the Chamber of Deputies and from 315 to 200 in the Senate.

Parties are divided on the reduction in MPs, which will bring their numbers down from 945 to 600.

Some, like government partners the 5-Star Movement and the Democratic Party, see it as a necessary streamlining and cost-cutting of politics.

Others say democratic representation is at risk.

Slovakia Bans Mosques Nationwide, Effectively Banning Islam From Country

Slovak legislation forbids Islamic mosques being established in country

Slovakia has banned mosques from being established anywhere in the country, effectively banning Islam from the Central European nation.

Slovak legislation, established in 2016, makes it impossible for Islam to be a state-recognized religion.

Slovakia has introduced measures making it the country with the toughest laws against Islam in all of Europe.

In 2016, two-thirds of deputies, including opposition ones, voted in favor of legislation submitted by the governmental Slovak National Party (SNS).

The laws required religious groups in the country to have 50,000 followers to run their schools, open religious establishments or qualify for government subsidies.

Previously, the law only required 20,000 signatures.

According to official sources, Islam, which was primarily targeted by the law, has less than 5,000 followers and zero mosques in the landlocked country in the center of Europe.

In 2016, then Prime Minister Robert Fico said in an interview, “I’m sorry, Islam has no place in Slovakia.

“It is the duty of politicians to talk about these things very clearly and openly.

“I do not wish there were tens of thousands of Muslims.”

‘This is What Turkey Wants’

by Lorenzo Vita

The dangerous waters of the eastern Mediterranean have once again brought Turkey under the spotlight. The succession of events in the quadrant stretching from the Aegean to the seas around Cyprus is still looking murky.

The Current Situation in the Eastern Mediterranean

Ankara has sent the survey ship Oruç Reis with an escort of military craft to explore the seabed. Greece reacted with a series of military maneuvers and opened an anti-Turkish blockade in Mare Nostrum with France as one of its leading partners. The challenge is leading to an increasing deployment of air-sea forces with the risk that the slightest spark could trigger a conflict whose boundaries and effects are hard to predict.

But what matters is to understand why this escalation has come about. Why are tensions rocking the Aegean and the Levant, and why are Greek, Turkish, French, Italian and American ships and UAE fighters scrambling to active duty stations?

Czech PM Babis to Der Spiegel: EU Needs Its Own Ellis Island for Migration

In an interview with German Der Spiegel Magazine, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis said that the Czech Republic is a role model for other countries, proposed an idea for an Ellis Island for Europe, and discussed how to make the European Union strong again.

“The Czech Republic is a model for the future. Many foreigners — from France and elsewhere — come to us. They live here and feel safe,” said Babis in the interview.

According to him, Czechia was one of the most industrialized countries in the world before the Second World War, and he wants it to be one of the “best” again. To achieve that, Babis believes that country should be run like a family business.

The German magazine presents the Czech prime minister to the readers as a man who “spent most of his life becoming a billionaire.” According to the journalist who interviewed Babis, their meeting was not off to a good start as Babis printed out a list of articles published in the magazine and accused Der Spiegel of lying about him.

In the interview, the Czech Prime Minister admitted that Czechia is one of the most Euroskeptic countries in the EU.

“It will get better — in part because of me: I am pro-EU and criticize just specific aspects,” Babis said.

Dutch MEP Calls for Hungary to Leave the EU Over Border Closure Decision

After Hungary closed its borders on Sept. 1 in attempt to slow down the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, MEP Sophie In’t Veld of the Dutch Democrats 66 party, which is part of the Renew European Parliament faction, essentially called upon Hungary to leave the European Union or respect its rules.

Hungary’s border closure was a deliberate move to “provoke the EU”, she told Euronews in an interview and said Prime Minister Viktor Orban should “really, really consider whether he wants to be a member of the EU”.

“I don’t know what the justification is for this border closure,” In’t Veld said following the Aug. 28 announcement on Hungary’s border closure. The day before the border closure was implemented on Sept. 1, at a regional forum held in neighboring Slovenia, Orban said his country would exempt nationals of the Visegrad Group, which includes the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, from the ban, which in turn prompted two EU commissioners to complain that the second Hungarian move was discriminatory against other EU citizens.

  2. The orcs of Moria have succeeded in burning their filthy lair to the ground as a response to being locked down. Reportedly they threaten to do it again if the camp is rebuilt or they are not allowed into Europe.

It is long past time that these ungrateful invaders of the West were forced back into the sea from whence they arrived at the point of a spear or a muzzle of a gun. Almost as good would be to dump every one of them in the middle of Berlin where they could sell drugs and rape German women and boys to their hearts content, and in so doing be the wedge that finally destroys the fragile coalition of leftists that is keeping Comrade Merkel in power.

  3. UK: Grooming Gang Rape Victim: Mohammed Ali Sultan and Shahmeel Khan Turned Me Into an Inhuman ‘Sex Thing’. Nothing new here, English women get gang raped by Blacks and Muslims, British men get beaten up, emasculated, and dominated by them. It has been going on for decades even in puny towns like Telford and the police have been actively covering it up, even arresting victims for speaking out. I don’t know what British law has to say about crime statistics broken down by ethnicity, but it’s always young Blacks storming little restaurants and pubs with machetes or a sex slavery underworld headed by immigrants and other things of that nature whenever specific details are exposed. I know in France there actually is a law banning the mere mention of Race, Ethnicity, and Religion in any and all official statistics which makes it impossible to expose the perpetrators, French law dictates that there is no such thing as “foreign origin” if you are a French citizen, you are considered French 100% no matter what and the statistics reflect that, there is no such thing as non-white or migration background, in terms of data France’s demography is a dark hole of nothingness we know little about, just vague third party estimates that Maghrebis alone make up about 5 to 6 million or 10% of the population, and a similar number of Black Africans.
