South Carolina Legal Tender Act Would Treat Gold & Silver as Money

Authored by Michael Maharrey via The Libertarian Institute

A bill prefiled in the South Carolina House would make gold and silver coins legal tender in the state. Passage of this bill would take a step toward creating currency competition in South Carolina and undermine the Federal Reserve’s monopoly on money.

Rep. Stewart Jones filed House Bill 4678 (H.4678) on Nov. 20. Under the proposed law, “gold and silver coins minted foreign or domestic shall be legal tender in the State of South Carolina under the laws of this State. No person or other entity may compel another person or other entity to tender or accept gold or silver coin unless agreed upon by the parties.”

Alleged Antifa Member Attempts to Block Road, Smash Someones SUV — But He Picked the Wrong Guy to Mess With

Last week, video surfaced showing an alleged Antifa member attempting to block an SUV in the road and harass someone before getting taught a lesson he won’t forget anytime soon.

The video, originally posted on LiveLeak, shows the agitator wearing the usual black mask getup seen on Antifa members and wielding some sort of weapon reminiscent of a baseball bat. Whatever it is, it ends up being completely useless to him.

Andy Ngo Remains Suspended From Twitter for Truthful Tweet

Yesterday, journalist and The Post Millennial editor-at-large Andy Ngo was suspended from Twitter for the following tweet directed at Chelsea Clinton: “The US is one of the safest countries for trans people. The murder rate of trans victims is actually lower than that for cis population. Also, who is behind the murders? Mostly black men.” Ngo has been banned from Twitter for saying a true thing. As a journalist, his job is to expose the truth. Twitter has deemed the speaking of facts to be “hateful conduct.”

Ngo’s tweet was in response to Clinton’s Trans Remembrance Day post honouring murdered trans women. He showed that Clinton’s tweet was misleading. There has been much talk about how many trans women have been killed for being trans in the United States. Many trans activists claim that it is an epidemic. It should go without saying that harming someone for any reason, other than self-defence, is not acceptable, but in the facts vs. feelings war regarding the murders of trans people in the States, facts have been getting the short end of the stick. America is actually the safest place for trans people to live.

Exclusive: Autistic College Student Clears Name After Frivolous Allegations

Marcus Knight—a student with autism, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities—has prevailed in his lawsuit against Saddleback College, according to exclusive documents obtained this Sunday by TPM.

After being accused of sexual misconduct, Knight filed the lawsuit to clear his name.

Knight first came to national attention in 2018 after his attempts to make friends landed him in his college’s office for sexual misconduct (also known as a Title IX office). As a young man with autism, making friends has always been difficult for him, he told me.

Florida Man Accused of Trying to Recruit ISIS to Attack College Deans

A Florida man was arrested after allegedly trying to recruit ISIS to attack the deans of colleges he formerly attended.

Salman Rashid, 23, was arrested on charges of soliciting another person to commit a violent crime, according to a Monday release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. Rashid allegedly attempted to call on ISIS members to target two deans from Miami-Dade College and Broward College.

The FBI began tracking Rashid in April 2018 after his public Facebook posts indicated support for a “violent overthrow of democracy” and institution of Islamic law, according to court documents cited in the release.

Google Fires Employees Who Helped Organize Labor Protests

Google on Monday fired four employees, including a staffer, who were actively involved in organizing labor protests at the company, according to an internal memo.

The decision came amid rising tensions between Google employees and leadership as the company grapples with giving workers freedom of speech and controlling protests over issues such as climate change, its work with China and the company’s handling of sexual harassment.

The tech giant fired the employees for “clear and repeated violations of [Google’s] security policies” after they shared calendars and documents related to a protest against the company’s decision to hire a firm known for anti-union efforts, the memo published by Bloomberg read.

The incident, which took place at Archibald’s Gentlemen’s Club in Washington, DC, late last year, represents the most recent alleged drug use by Biden, 49, who has acknowledged six stints in rehab for alcoholism and addiction that included a crack binge in 2016.

Russian Trolls Have Virtually No Effect on US Twitter Users: Duke University

A recent study from Duke University appears to support former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s February 2018 announcement that Russian internet trolls did not affect the outcome of the 2016 US election — a campaign which the New York Times described as “the Pearl Harbor of the social media age.”

Researchers analyzed the “6 distinctive measures of political attitudes and behaviors” of 1,239 Republican and Democratic Twitter users from late 2017 over a one-month period.

Lead researcher Chris Bail notes that while “many studies have analyzed the content and strategy of these campaigns,” hardly anyone has looked at their actual impact.

Update: Calgary Flames Head Coach Under Investigation for Racism

Sportsnet reported earlier today that the Calgary Flames fired their head coach Bill Peters after allegations of racism were made by former player Akim Aliu on Twitter.

They were incorrect. They have pulled their original article and clarified that Bill Peters has not been fired but is under investigation.

On Monday, Aliu claimed that Peters, who he referred to as Mike Babcock’s “protege” had used racial slur against him “several times” while Aliu played for the Chicago Blackhawk’s AHL team, the Rockford IceHogs. Peters had previously been Babcock’s assistant coach.

A Meaningful Milestone in Sweden?

When I moved to Norway twenty years ago, a term I encountered often was “American conditions” (amerikanske tilstander). It was always used disparagingly. It referred to such things as urban sprawl, strip malls, inner-city gangs, school shootings and private health care. After Barack Obama became president, I heard the term far less frequently — in Norway, after all, you cannot get too rough on a country with a black president, especially a president to whom you have given the Nobel Peace Prize.

Today, even though Trump-bashing — in Norway as in the U.S. — is the media’s favorite sport, the term does not seem to have come back into widespread use, which perhaps has something to do with the fact that the U.S., among other things, now has the world’s strongest economy and staggeringly enviable employment figures. Meanwhile, there is another term that has become increasingly common in Norway: “Swedish conditions” (svenske tilstander). It really took off about two years ago, when Sylvi Listhaug, Norway’s then Minister of Immigration and Integration, used it after visiting some of Sweden’s worst Muslim enclaves — a reaction that outraged politicians and journalists on both sides of the border.

Pakistan Decides to Raise Sacrilege Issue at OIC, EU

ISLAMABAD.: A day after lodging a diplomatic protest with the Norwegian government over the desecration of the Holy Quran by an Islamophobic and anti-Muslim group, Pakistan announced on Sunday that it would raise the matter at the international forums.

The decision was taken by the core committee of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The sacrilegious act, meanwhile, whipped up nationwide anger as protest rallies were staged in different towns and cities of the country.

“The core committee unanimously condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran and decided to take up the matter in the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the European Union (EU),” said Firdous Ashiq Awan, the special assistant to the prime minister on information and broadcasting, while briefing the media after the meeting. The head of the extreme right-wing group — Stop the Islamisation of Norway (SION) — last week staged a protest against Islam in the Norwegian city of Kristiansand where the group’s head attempted to burn a copy of the Holy Scripture…

Colombians Call for “Peaceful Protest” With 24-Hour Strike Wednesday

The leaders of Colombia’s three largest unions and members of the organizing committee of the national strike called for peaceful protests across the nation as the Paro Nacional enters its sixth day. With Bogota at the epicenter of the Paro, President Ivan Duque met with the National Strike Committee Tuesday morning in the Presidential Palace to address a host of issues; among them respect for the peace accords signed with FARC in 2016, withdrawing from Congress tax and pension reform legislation, corruption and economic inequality.

The “National Dialogue” was called by President Duque to find resolution and compromise to a strike that during five days has resulted in more 500 injured, among them 350 members of the country’s police force. The protests also claimed the life of an 18-year old student, Dilan Cruz, who died in a Bogota hospital after being shot by a member of the police riot squad — Esmad.

Scientists Identify Hundreds of Species in Colombia’s Chiribiquete Park

More than 300 species of fauna and flora have been identified during a scientific expedition last month to the Serrania de Chiribiquete National Natural Park, and whose results will be added to those already registered during previous expeditions, and contribute to the scientific knowledge of this 4.3 million hectare parkland.

The expedition, part of the on-going Heart of the Amazon project by Puerto Rastrojo Foundation, Amazon Conservation Team, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Amazon Institute of Scientific Research (SINCHI) inventories flora, birds and butterflies in terrestrial ecosystems. To identify new species researchers installed cameras in the Puerto Abeja ravine and set up 18 fish sampling stations along the Mesay and Cuñare rivers. The cameras managed to record the movements of 71 mammals, including wild boars and anteaters. Of 12 species of birds recorded, two were curassows, undulated tinamous and trumpeteers.

UK: Anti-LGBT Protesters BANNED by Judge From Campaigning Against Lessons at Birmingham School

ANTI-LGBT protests have been permanently banned from outside a Birmingham primary school, a judge has ruled today.

The ban includes an exclusion zone surrounding the city’s Anderton Park Primary School which has been subjected to weeks of noisy demonstrations.

The legal bid had been opposed by protesters, along with an interim ban first granted at the same court in the summer.

Birmingham City Council was granted an order temporarily banning protesters from outside the school’s gates in June, over safety fears about repeated large-scale demonstrations, often involving people with no direct connection to the school.

The injunction was made against three individuals — the protest’s main organisers Shakeel Afsar and Amir Ahmed, and parent Rosina Afsar, as well as “persons unknown”.

  1. “UK: Kinder, Gentler Politics? Leftist Protesters Throw Eggs at Nigel Farage Rally” Ha, I love this! It’s the same over here. The lefties (who think they’re actually conservative liberal, but their words nor deeds support those claims) always seem to think their morally supperior and that the right (and what they consider far right) are some uneducated brutes. But the reality is the exact opposite: it’s always the lefties who don’t go far for slurs and physical attacks, who disturb events or make a mess at their rallies. And then they go home, patting eachother on the shoulder for how well they did egging the president or booing at other politians and how they protected democracy by doing so, blissfully oblivious to their swamp of immorality that goes against everything democratic.

  2. “Alleged Antifa Member Attempts to Block Road, Smash Someones SUV — But He Picked the Wrong Guy to Mess With” that video was delightful! It’s the only language they’ll understand and simultaneously they don’t expect it. They’re really mostly just overgrown children who don’t understand their actions can cause a reaction. Just don’t be afraid and treat them all the way the man in the video has shown us and Antifa soon won’t be a problem no more.

  3. “Thieves have stolen a billion euros worth of jewels from the Green Vault of the Residenzschloss in Dresden, in one of the biggest heists in German post-war history.” Our media keep mentioning the tiny statue of the thieves and I can’t help but think they were migrant children, child soldiers if you will, made to steal that stuff.
First Notre Dame, now this, it’s clearly an attack on our very history and culture. Hopefully they’ll eventually find the stuff just thrown in a bin somewhere, like they did in Sweden.
