Another Step Toward Auditing the Federal Reserve

Representative Thomas Massie kicked off the legislative New Year on January 3 with H.R. 24, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. This bill is the latest in a series of bills introduced by the likes of Massie and former Congressman Ron Paul calling for a congressional audit of the Federal Reserve, an event that has never taken place in the Fed’s 105-year history. Once politically unthinkable, the drive to audit the Fed has gained considerable momentum in recent years as many Democrats and even some influential far-left progressives, such as Bernie Sanders, have signaled their support. With a president in the White House who has made no secret of his dislike for the Fed, there is a real possibility that Massie’s bill — should it ever pass the House and Senate — could become law.

At Least 73 People Killed, Dozens Injured in Mexico Gasoline Pipeline Explosion

At least 73 people were killed in central Mexico after a ruptured gasoline pipeline exploded Friday evening, the governor of the State of Hidalgo, Omar Fayad, said Saturday in a news conference in Mexico City.

At least 74 people were injured, with seven of those under the age of 18 and one was 12 years old, Fayad said. He said some of the minors will be transferred to Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas.

Alejandro Gertz Manero, general prosecutor of Mexico, said Saturday night that the investigation has just started but that a “preliminary belief” is that static electricity from the clothing of people around the pipeline may have caused the blast.

He noted a large number of people were around the pipeline, some of whom were wearing clothes made with synthetic fibers that could “generate electric reactions.”

He said no arrests have been made and that witnesses will be interviewed Sunday.

FRENCH border police have revealed two men have been arrested in the northern port town of Calais over allegations they were trying to smuggle an Iraqi migrant woman and a child from France to England by sea.

The two suspected smugglers, also from Iraq, were arrested on a Calais beach as they were about to help send the two migrants — whose age and identity have not been disclosed — reach the UK by boat, Fabien Sudry, prefect for the Pas-de-Calais region, said in a statement. The surge in crossings — possibly driven by the UK’s imminent exit from the EU — has been described as a “major incident,” with extra patrols deployed to help deal with the situation. The two men were already known to police and linked to a separate smuggling investigation.

  1. re: only 10K for Women’s March

    Good and surprising news.

Nice to see even many Leftist public figures and the DNC condemn the anti-semitic ties.

  2. re: Youtube abortion videos

    Some videos contained “graphic content.”

They don’t want women to see the actual barbaric horror.

This is common in abortion clinics where many, perhaps all, don’t allow the woman to watch the procedure.

Clinic Nurses and doctors who have ‘blown the whistle’ on the industry say that nearly everytime that a woman sees the butchery, she experiences extreme regret at best and mental illness or suicide at worst.

  3. I can not find the exact information on this news:

As I wrote earlier, the criminal comes from the Muslim region of Russia – Bashkiria (Bashkortostan, as they call themselves)
Today in the news it was that he received a Russian passport relatively recently. The name and nationality of the criminal is still unknown.

    • Personally, I don’t consider such people as Russians and I think many here in the West do not think so either.

  4. Yesterday, the Orthodox celebrated Baptism – plunged into the ice font.

Here is more news from the Muslim region of Tatarstan.

In the village of Kuyuki, Pestrechinsky district of Tatarstan, soldiers of the Kazan special forces detachment “Bars” of the Volga District Rosgvardia, soldiers of the Kazan Tank School and cadet students became participants in traditional Epiphany bathing

… Not only Orthodox, but also Muslims became participants in Epiphany bathing. One of the servicemen plunged into the hole with shouts of “Allah Akbar!” And “For the Airborne Forces!”.

    Madhouse, right?

    • I guess it continues to cost something to be a Christian in Russia!!

The Russians are a tough people.

I had a can of fish from Russia and found inside a large jaw bone with fierce sharp teeth.

      • I once found a piece of some mechanism in a can of Spanish olives. This does not mean anything. You just had no luck.

But seriously, I do not know what is in the brains of Russian Orthodox people.
When I read Russian classics – these are sane people, whose motives are clear to me.
I recently spoke with an Orthodox woman. She completely, to hysterics, denied the ugly social society of pre-revolutionary Russia. Although all this is in the books of his contemporaries. It is also the followers of Stalin deny the gulag.

        • This strange phenomenom of denial appears to be the main problem we have as humans and why we now have all these problems with immigration.

  5. Currently enjoying Thomas Massie as my congressman in Kentucky. Previously lived in Ohio and represented by Jim Jordan. I must be doing something right!

    • It’s about time the Federal Reserve is under scrutiny.

Andrew Jackson railed against it in the 1830’s:

“You are a den of vipers. I intend to rout you out and by the Eternal God I will rout you out. If the people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system, there would be a revolution before morning.”
