44 Facts About the Death of the Middle Class That Every American Should Know

What is America going to look like when the middle class is dead? Once upon a time, the United States has the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world. When I was growing up, it seemed like almost everyone was “middle class” and it was very rare to hear of someone that was out of work. Of course life wasn’t perfect, but most families owned a home, most families had more than one vehicle, and most families could afford nice vacations and save for retirement at the same time. Sadly, things have dramatically changed in America since that time. There just aren’t as many “middle class jobs” as there used to be. In fact, just six years ago there were about six million more full-time jobs in our economy than there are right now. Those jobs are being replaced by part-time jobs and temp jobs. The number one employer in America today is Wal-Mart and the number two employer in America today is a temp agency (Kelly Services). But you can’t support a family on those kinds of jobs. We live at a time when incomes are going down but the cost of living just keeps going up. As a result, the middle class in America is being absolutely shredded and the ranks of the poor are steadily growing. The following are 44 facts about the death of the middle class that every American should know…

1. According to one recent survey, “four out of five U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives”.

2. The growth rate of real disposable personal income is the lowest that it has been in decades.

Youth Unemployment Rises to 39.1% in Italy

Over half a million seeking work

(ANSA) — Rome, July 31 — The youth unemployment rate for Italians aged 15-to-24 rose to 39.1% in June, up 0.8% compared to May and 4.6% year-on-year, the country’s statistics agency Istat said on Wednesday. Among the country’s youth, 642,000 under-25s are looking for work.

Apple to Introduce Fingerprint Sensor on New iPhone

Apple to Introduce Fingerprint Sensor on New iPhone On Monday, iOS 7 code posted on the internet by London programmer Hamza Sood revealed the new Apple iPhone expected in September will likely contain a fingerprint biometric sensor.

iPhone home button to contain fingerprint sensor (found in beta 4) pic.twitter.com/tUlZ6xjeer

— Hamza Sood (@hamzasood) July 29, 2013

“Fingerprint sensor in iPhone 5S is much more than a gimmick. This + iCloud keychain = end of passwords,” Bulgarian developer Pavel Simeonov tweeted on Tuesday.

It was reported earlier this year that Apple had delayed production of the next iPhone because it was unable to find a coating material that did not interfere with the fingerprint sensor. Following Apple’s acquisition of network security company AuthenTec last year, it has been speculated that Apple would move to integrate biometric technology on its popular devices.

Fifty Shades of Grey — Not the Koran — Is ‘Most Requested Book at Guantanamo Bay’

The Fifty Shades of Grey series of erotic novels are the favorite reading material among former CIA captives being held at the notorious Guantanamo detention camp, it has emerged.

U.S. congressman Jim Moran made the revelation after touring Camp 7, the top-security facility that holds more than a dozen ‘high-value’ prisoners.

The Democratic Representative of Virginia said the bestselling book by British author E. L. James was the most requested book — even beating the Koran.

How to Use ObamaCare to Scam Taxpayers

Looking for a little extra cash? If you’re interested in defrauding taxpayers, it might be as easy as writing down a number on a form.

The number is your income. The form is the Obamacare application.

If you do not have an “affordable” employer-sponsored health insurance and your income is between about $31,800 and $94,200 for a family of four (that is, between 138 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty level), you qualify for an insurance subsidy through Obamacare.

But when you apply for coverage in the Obamacare insurance exchange, it’s up to you to report your income accurately. It turns out that the IRS won’t be checking everyone’s Obamacare applications.

Heritage health care expert Chris Jacobs ran the numbers to show what a difference a little fraud can make. He took a hypothetical family of four with $90,000 in income who were eligible for coverage through the exchange. If this family were honest, they would receive a subsidy of $2,997 to help cover their insurance premiums.

But if that same family put down $35,000 as their income instead, they would receive $10,175 from taxpayers. Even if they were caught, they would have to pay back only $2,500 of their ill-gotten subsidy, due to a loophole in Obamacare.

Will anyone be checking? It’s doubtful, Jacobs writes:

Supporters of the law claim this scenario will not happen, due to the penalties associated with misrepresenting information on application forms and tax documents. But with government auditors noting the exchanges have missed critical deadlines, and Obamacare anti-fraud investigations being cancelled, will the federal government really have the resources necessary to enforce the law, much less ensure taxpayer funds are not being abused?

Illinois Moves to Confiscate Firearms

Cook County follows in California’s footsteps

Police in Cook County, Illinois are demonstrating that, contrary to gun control proponents’ reassurances, a gun registry does eventually and inevitably lead to confiscation.

Last week, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that the Cook County Sheriff’s office has formed a special task force assigned to seek out Cook County suburb residents whose Firearm Owner’s Identification Cards have expired.

“The Chicago Police Department conducts regular missions to recover revoked FOID cards and seize guns from the holders, but there wasn’t a concerted effort to do that in Cook County’s suburbs,” Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart told the Sun-Times.

In February, the team confiscated 160 FOID cards and more than 160 guns from citizens whose cards had been revoked due to any number of circumstances, including newly discovered “mental illnesses,” felonies and protection orders, which morphs their non-violent firearm ownership into unlawful activity.

According to the Sun-Times, Sheriff Dart has influenced the Illinois General Assembly to include language in a new FOID law that gives sheriffs and local police the power to obtain warrants and invade the homes of expired permit holders in order to seek out their firearms.

In most cases, firearm owners who were legal one minute and deemed “illegal” the next will not be afforded the opportunity to explain their situations.

Nobody is Coming to Save and Protect You — Police Motto Misleading (Video)

How the police motto “to protect and serve” has mislead a generation…

On Feb 12th of 2011, 42-year old Joseph Lozito was riding the subway in New York City when he was attacked by Maxim Gellman, a knife wielding madman who police had been on the lookout for in connection with a drug-fueled 28-hour killing spree. The two police officers who were in the same subway car as Lozito retreated into the locked motorman’s cabin and watched as Lozito was brutally attacked by Gellman. Lozito, a martial arts enthusiast, was able to subdue his attacker, but not before receiving several stab wounds. Once the attacker had been disarmed and subdued by Lozito, the two officers advanced from the locked motorman’s cabin to take over and arrest Gellman. Lozito sued the NYPD in 2012 for injuries he received during the attack, claiming that the NYPD was negligent, as officers did nothing to help him and instead watched the attack. The case was recently dismissed by judge Margaret Chan because “no direct promises of protection were made to Mr. Lozito,” the police had “no special duty” to protect him. (check out the full story here).

Let’s hear that one more time… just to be clear… The police have no duty to protect an individual… just the public at large. I’m not arguing over the law here, my objective is to make as many people as possible aware of what the NYPD officer’s legal obligations were in this situation.

What makes this so ironic and infuriating, is that politicians who time and time again act to remove, or strictly limit the right of the individual to protect themselves with firearms, tasers, pepper spray and the like will often cite statistics regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement personnel to respond to “save you.” What they fail to mention, is that it matters not how “fast or efficient” an officer’s response time is, if they have no legal obligation to protect you, or intervene when they get there.

Social Security Administration Now Hiring for Counterintelligence Operations

Why does the Social Security Administration want to hire specialists in “counterintelligence operations” for supporting “homeland security?”

A recent job posting on USA Jobs shows two vacancies for the Intelligence Operations Specialist position at the SSA’s headquarters in Woodlawn, Maryland.

The job listing says that the position is responsible for “complex assignments” to establish and maintain the SSA’s “defensive counterintelligence operations, collaboration, intelligence and information sharing missions.”

Some of the Intelligence Operations Specialist duties include working with members of law enforcement and “resolving counterintelligence” that presents a “credible threat” to the SSA.

The Two-Party System — The Great Deception

“There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.” — John Adams

Over the past four decades, the so-called “right” has been capitulating to anti-American socialists/communists who attempt to force their agendas on the American people.

Nowadays, America’s “right”, in many cases, is as corrupt and destructive as the “left.”

Today’s conservatives are yesterday’s liberals, and as the un-American agenda goes forward, who loses?

The American people do.

The Three Amigos of Racial Discord: Sharpton, Holder, Obama

On Monday, MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton and other “civil rights” leaders met with President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. They were purportedly discussing voting rights, but, in reality, they were discussing how to perpetuate voter fraud.

None of these so called leaders are in favor of voter identification laws, which require individuals to present a picture ID at voting polls. Somehow, mandating voter identification is supposed to be racist and akin to a poll tax that will “disenfranchise” minority voters. Such views are plainly ridiculous as many states have programs to provide free voter identification cards to their citizens. For example, Texas has implemented a plan to distribute free picture ID’s to any interested voter, but that has drawn the ire of Sharpton, Holder and Obama.

The Three Amigos are upset that Texas will require anyone seeking a free voter ID to present verification of their U.S. citizenship and identity. Of course, anyone interested in voter integrity and fair elections would agree that non-citizens should not be allowed to vote. Sadly, Sharpton, Holder and Obama disagree and are not interested in combating fraudulent voting. They want more illegal aliens to vote, which translates into more votes for the Democratic Party.

U.S. Welfare Food Shipped Offshore in Huge Barrels to be Sold on Black Market in Developing Nations

(NaturalNews) Waste, fraud, and abuse are the three things taxpayers hate more than the taxes themselves, because they stand for a blatant misuse of resources provided by coercion: Pay your taxes or else go to jail.

So it is beyond maddening when taxpayers learn that government-enforced charity, which is the base concept behind all welfare programs, is being exploited by the very people such programs were designed to “help.”

A recent case in point involves rampant welfare fraud in New York City. What’s more, as reported by the New York Post, “food stamp fraud [in the city] has turned into foreign aid — to black-market profiteers in the Dominican Republic.”

Prior, the paper reported that welfare recipients in New York were buying food with their benefits cards, then shipping it in blue barrels to relatives in the Caribbean. But not all of them are distributing the food to the needy; some are selling the taxpayer-funded fare for a profit on the city streets in the DR.

US Government Spending $500k to Push HPV Vaccine That Keeps Killing Young Women

(NaturalNews) Amid all the budget cuts and sequestration measures being taken by the federal government these days, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has somehow procured more than half a million taxpayer dollars to spend on pushing more people to get vaccinated for human papillomavirus (HPV). As reported by CNSNews.com, NIH recently awarded $544,188 to the University of California (UC) school system to research new propaganda tactics that may help sway more mothers to have their underage daughters vaccinated with Merck & Co.’s Gardasil jab.

Even though countless thousands of young girls around the world have been seriously injured or killed as a result of being poked with Gardasil, according to the latest available statistics, NIH is concerned that not enough young girls in California’s Los Angeles County are getting the shot — the vaccine industry is presumably concerned as well. So, the federal agency has tasked UC with evaluating new methods that might convince more mothers of underage girls to have their daughters vaccinated, all on the taxpayer’s dime.

Z Street vs. The IRS

an interview with Lori Lowenthal Marcus by Jerry Gordon (August 2013)

The American public was aroused by allegations and documentation of political discrimination by The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released in hearings before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in May and later hearings before the House Ways and Means Committee in June and July 2013. The hearings were triggered by a report released on May 14, 2013 from The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, “Inappropriate Criteria Were Used to Identify Tax-Exempt Applications for Review.” The report revealed a broad pattern of discrimination against several hundred conservative groups who had filed for tax exempt status under Section 501 (c) (4) of the Internal Revenue Code. President Obama was appalled, Congressional committees were angered and soon a parade of witnesses including retired and former IRS Commissioners appeared. One senior IRS official, Lois Lerner, look the Fifth Amendment in her appearance. A House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Hearing on July 18, 2013 had appearances by both current Cincinnati and recently retired Washington, DC senior tax personnel that appeared to tie the disputed special reviews to a political appointee, IRS General Counsel, William Wilkins.

This is particularly acute for Z STREET, because the active discrimination in processing its application well over three years ago led to a filing of a cause of action against a former Commissioner of the IRS, Douglas Shulman in August 2010. The filing accused the federal tax agency of viewpoint discrimination in violation of the First Amendment. That preceded disclosures in May 2013 about similar activities by the IRS against conservative political groups with titles like, “Tea Party,” “Patriots” and others…

Archaeology: The Milk Revolution

When a single genetic mutation first let ancient Europeans drink milk, it set the stage for a continental upheaval.

In the 1970s, archaeologist Peter Bogucki was excavating a Stone Age site in the fertile plains of central Poland when he came across an assortment of odd artefacts. The people who had lived there around 7,000 years ago were among central Europe’s first farmers, and they had left behind fragments of pottery dotted with tiny holes. It looked as though the coarse red clay had been baked while pierced with pieces of straw.

Looking back through the archaeological literature, Bogucki found other examples of ancient perforated pottery. “They were so unusual — people would almost always include them in publications,” says Bogucki, now at Princeton University in New Jersey. He had seen something similar at a friend’s house that was used for straining cheese, so he speculated that the pottery might be connected with cheese-making. But he had no way to test his idea.

Bank of England Helped Reichsbank Sell Its Nazi Gold

We previously showed hard evidence of the Bank of England’s complicit hiding of the truth about the quality of Bundesbank gold stored in the Fed’s vaults. A few weeks later in a “completely unrelated” action, the Bundesbank dramatically shifted its recent stance, and demanded that its gold be repatriated into its own vaults (and we now know the impact that has had on the paper-physical paper markets). However, in yet another one of the ‘darkest episodes in central banking history’ the FT reports, the Bank of England facilitated the sale of gold that was looted by the Nazis after their invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1938. Of course, judging today’s central bankers by this ethical (and potentially criminal) behavior of over 70 years ago is unfair but it is notable that the pattern of whatever-it-takes and at-all-costs decisions, coupled with pervasive opacity and stark unaccountability, appear to have been formed a long time ago.

France: Marseille Warns Government Over Crime Emergency

To Interior Minister Valls, whole city priority security zone

(ANSAmed) — PARIS, JULY 31 -Marseille, facing a growing crime emergency, needs a special statute to guarantee security, according to an appeal launched by the president of the urban community in France’s second-largest city, Eugene Caselli, in a letter to Interior Minister Manuel Valls.

Caselli asked the government to include the whole city in the list of the so-called priority security zones (ZSP), a statute normally attributed only to specific crime-infested districts including areas of Paris’ banlieue.

‘Confronted with a new wave of violence which struck Marseille in the night between Monday and Tuesday, I wrote to Minister Valls to ask for more police and for the whole city to be listed as a priority security zone’, said the Socialist politician, who is also running in the primaries with which Marseille residents will choose the left-wing candidate competing in the 2014 municipal elections. ‘I am worried and angry’, said the president of Marseille Metropole, which is this year European capital of culture. ‘The situation is such that the response must be as significant as the emergencies we are facing’.

Shortly before midnight on Monday the body of a young man killed by a head wound was found in the port city. The same evening, two 30-year-olds were wounded after a man riding a scooter opened fire in the Saint-Pierre neighbourhood.

Italy: Chieti Public Official Allegedly Extorted Sex for Housing

Women seeking State assistance coerced, say police

(ANSA) — Chieti, July 30 — A public official in the central Italian city of Chieti was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly asking for sex in exchange for State housing allocation.

Ivo D’Agostino, 51, from the centrist UDC party reportedly sent text messages and made telephone calls soliciting sex from five women suffering economic difficulties and seeking housing assistance.

Police said that most of the women were young mothers and some were foreigners living in Italy. D’Agostino is under house arrest and could be charged with extortion, attempted extortion and sexual assault.

Probes began in November 2011 after one of the women reported D’Agostino, showing his text messages to police.

His phone was then tapped by investigators, who recorded him soliciting women for a sex-for-housing exchange.

Italy: Fonsai Asks Ligresti Family for Larger Damages Payout

Insurance company seeks 32 million in damages

(ANSA) — Bologna, July 30 — Italian Insurance company Fonsai is seeking another 32 million euro in damages from former shareholders, the Ligresti family.

The demand approved Tuesday comes in addition to a 245 million euro payout approved in March.

Earlier this month, three members of the Ligresti family were arrested on in relation to a probe into alleged fraud at Fonsai.

They are suspected of false accounting and market manipulation for alleged involvement in cooking the books to the tune of 600 million euros in the 2010 balance sheet.

The Ligresti family are the former majority owners of the Fonsai and Milano Assicurazioni insurance companies.

Shareholders voted in favour of the additional demands for damages from the Ligresti family, in relation to what were classified as involving “minor operations”.

The bulk of those concern a real estate transaction in Florence, the restructuring of a hotel in Madonna di Campiglio and marketing contracts with the company Gilli.

Salvatore Ligresti, the family patriarch and former honorary chairman of Fonsai, was recently put under house arrest along with two former executives from the insurance company.

Italy: Alfa Romeo Production Could Move Abroad, Says Fiat

Marchionne says conditions ‘impossible’ in Italy

(ANSA) — Turin, July 30 — Production of Italy’s storied Alfa Romeo automobiles could be moved abroad, Sergio Marchionne said Tuesday.

“The conditions in industrial Italy remain impossible,” said Marchionne, chief executive of Fiat group, during a conference call with media and analysts. Marchionne said Fiat could produce new models of Alfa Romeo outside the company’s Italian base.

“We have the necessary alternatives to achieve Alfa anywhere in the world,” he said.

His comments came shortly after the Fiat-Chrysler Group announced a first-half net profit of 435 million euros, up from 239 million euros in the first six months of 2012.

It also confirmed targets for 2013: turnover should come in between 88 and 92 billion euros; trading profit at 4 to 4.5 billion euros; net profits between 1.2 and 1.5 billion euros; net industrial debt around 7 billion euros.

But Marchionne appeared to be still smarting from a recent court ruling in favour of the left-wing FIOM trade union, which has clashed bitterly with Fiat several times in recent years.

Italy’s Constitutional Court ruled in favour of FIOM, the metalworkers’ arm of Italy’s biggest trade-union confederation CGIL, which petitioned against being excluded from Fiat’s company union representation body (RSA) for not having signed labour agreements.

Last week, Fiat warned that court ruling could have an impact “on its industrial strategies in Italy”.

Italy: Kyenge Says Anti-Racism Action Plan Set for November

‘Time to apply laws on the books’ says integration minister

(see related) (ANSA) — Rome, July 30 — The government in November will review a national action plan against racism and intolerance prepared by Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge, the same minister said Tuesday. “The plan we’re working on comes from requests from civil society,” said Kyenge, who is collaborating with Junior Minister Cecilia Guerra on the project. “Given recent acts of racism and violence, I believe it’s time to apply legislative measures that already exist and, if necessary, to reinforce them.

“Before making new laws, let’s start applying the ones we have”. Since her appointment in April, the Congolese-born minister has been the victim of repeated outbursts of racism, especially by members of the anti-immigrant Northern League. Earlier Tuesday Kyenge called on the party’s leader, Lombardy Governor Roberto Maroni, to forcefully condemn the slurs against her, which by now she finds “intolerable”.

Italy: Roman Artefacts Found in Raid on Ex-Berlusconi Minister

‘Scajola can explain’ says lawyer

(ANSA) — Imperia, July 30 — Police searched the home of former cabinet minister Claudio Scajola Tuesday, one of two raids against his client on the same day, his lawyer said.

Marco Mangia said the first raid was by police specializing in protecting the cultural heritage of the Savona region of northwestern Italy.

They were searching for and found amphorae dating to Roman times.

The second search was carried out by finance police, the lawyer said.

Mangia said that Scajola can justify to Italy’s superintendent of cultural heritage his possession of these ancient objects.

“My client has provided explanations and documentation for the superintendent,” said Mangia.

Giuseppa Geremia, chief prosecutor for Imperia, said the searches relate to an investigation launched in April into illegal financing of political parties.

Scajola served as industry minister under ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi and is under investigation in other cases, including a real-estate deal in Rome and for alleged corruption concerning Brazilian contracts for Italian defence giant Finmeccanica.

A driver in court for speeding at 165mph told judges ‘I’m still going to drive; catch me if you can’ as they banned him from the roads for three years.

Shiad Mahmoon, 24, was going so fast that police needed a helicopter to keep up with him, a court heard.

The driver was clocked speeding on the M57 in Merseyside in a hired Audi R8 Spyder by police who videoed him in the helicopter.

Liverpool Magistrates’ Court was told the speed was the fastest ever recorded by Merseyside Police.

Mahmoon, who is unemployed, may have recorded an even higher top speed as police estimated his average was between 144mph and 165mph on the stretch of motorway.

UK: Boy, 4, Starved and Beaten to Death by Mother as Authorities Looked Other Way

[WARNING: DISTURBING CONTENT.]

A series of appalling blunders by police, social workers, teachers and NHS staff allowed a boy of four to be starved, tortured and beaten to death by his mother and her lover.

Daniel Pelka resembled a ‘concentration camp victim’ and weighed less than a toddler when he died following an ‘incomprehensible’ campaign of cruelty carried out by the evil pair.

‘Callous and wretched’ Magdalena Luczak, 27, and stepfather Mariusz Krezolek, 34, imprisoned the little boy in a locked box room, force-fed him salt and held him underwater in a bath until he was unconscious…

He was so frightened of Krezolek — who forced him to perform punishment exercises such as squat thrusts — that he would wet himself when spoken to by an adult man.

At the time of the abuse, Krezolek and Luczak were both drinking heavily and taking drugs, including cannabis and amphetamines…

  • Daniel Pelka of Coventry died after suffering massive blow to the head
  • Magdalena Luczak and Mariusz Krezolek found guilty of murdering him
  • Daniel forced to scavenge food from school bins in final weeks of life
  • He arrived at school with black eye and looked ‘like a bundle of bones’
  • Broken arm suffered 14 months before he died was investigated by police
  • But despite looking ‘like an old man’ and often injured he was not saved
  • Schoolboy’s biological father says he hopes the boy’s killers rot in jail

UK: Manhunt Launched After Girl, 12, Is ‘Pinned Down and Raped by Two Teenagers’ In Midnight Attack

A manhunt has been launched after a 12-year-old girl was raped by two men.

The girl was in Walthamstow, east London, between 12.15am and 12.30am on Saturday when she met three men, Scotland Yard said.

She was taken to a garage area at the end of Hibbert Road, near Theydon Street, where she was pinned down and raped by two of the men.

The girl managed to call a friend who came to the scene and they left together. The suspects then left the area.

The trio are described as being between 17 and 19 years old.

The first was dark-skinned and of mixed race, with a diamond stud in his left ear and a London accent. He told the girl his name was Mo and that he was 17.

He had big brown eyes, short hair, was very skinny and wore a black puffa-style jacket with a hood, black chinos, black trainers and a grey/black T-shirt.

The second was described as black and very tall with big lips. His hair was partly shaven and he wore black trousers and a red and blue shirt.

The third, who did not rape the girl, was black and had a moustache. He wore a blue-coloured hooded top and a red and blue cap, and told her his name was Miles.

Detective Inspector Simon Ellershaw, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘This was a very nasty attack on a vulnerable girl just 12 years old by a group of older males who engaged her in conversation before leading her to a secluded area.

‘She was pinned down and two of the males then brutally raped her.

‘I would appeal for anyone with information or any witnesses to please contact police as soon as possible.’

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0208 217 7408 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

UK: Man Who Revealed Tattoo of a Mosque Being Blown Up During EDL March is Arrested on Suspicion of Inciting Racial Hatred

A man who allegedly revealed his tattoo of a mosque being blown up at an English Defence League rally in Birmingham has been arrested.

Sean Reah, of South Shields, South Tyneside, has been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred.

The 39-year-old was reportedly recently pictured lifting up his T-shirt to reveal an image of a Muslim place of worship with ‘BOOM!’ displayed across it.

The picture was taken during a demonstration organised by the English Defense League in Birmingham city centre on Saturday, July 20.

A spokesman for West Midlands police said: ‘A 39-year-old man has been arrested in South Tyneside on behalf of West Midlands Police on suspicion of using words or behavior, or displaying written material with intent to stir up racial hatred.’

The image sparked outrage after it was posted online.

It was taken at a demonstration in Birmingham, according to The Sun, where police made 20 arrests after officers came under attack on Saturday.

A 20-year-old woman has been charged with violent disorder and was due to appear in court earlier this week.

Two men were also charged with offences connected to the EDL rally and a counter-protest in Birmingham city centre.

Officers made a total of 20 arrests, mainly for public order breaches, after being pelted with cans, bottles, stones and other missiles during sporadic disorder.

Two men aged 26 and 22 have been bailed to appear before Walsall Magistrates’ Court on August 9 charged with possessing offensive weapons.

A police spokesman said: ‘Police enquiries are ongoing to see whether any other offences were committed during the demonstrations.

‘The wealth of exceptional quality CCTV within the area is likely to provide significant investigative opportunities to bring a large number of offenders to justice for what, at times, appeared to be serious offences.

‘There were a total of three hospital admissions for minor injuries, one of which was a police officer who received head injuries after being hit by bricks.

‘He was treated at hospital and later discharged.’

UK: Police Won’t Hand Stolen Caravan Back to Couple to Protect Human Rights of the Travellers Living in it

A couple whose £30,000 caravan was stolen have been told a traveller family now living in it cannot be removed because it would breach their human rights.

Kathleen McClelland and her partner Michael Curry spent their life savings on the top-of-the-range camper and were devastated when it vanished from the secure site where they kept it.

When police eventually found the 26ft-long Bailey Louisiana caravan 18 months later, its owners were told a traveller couple and their two young children were living in it only ten miles from their home in Surrey.

Their initial relief turned to outrage, however, when the police said they had ‘no lawful powers’ to get it back.

They were told their only option was to begin costly civil proceedings against the family, which they say they cannot afford.

Mrs McClelland and Mr Curry had spent £10,000 improving the £20,000 caravan, including putting in a widescreen TV. They bought the vehicle on hire purchase — and still have to make monthly payments of £250 for the next two years.

Hospital ward clerk Mrs McClelland, 68, said: ‘Why should we have to pay for someone else to live in our brand new caravan? That was for our pleasure in our older years.

‘The police said that removing the family would breach their human rights and that they would have to be rehoused before it could be seized. We spent all our retirement money on that caravan because we thought it would last us a lifetime. We’re absolutely devastated. It seems as though no one cares about our human rights.

‘I’ve worked all my life and saved up, surely I have the right to enjoy my retirement? When that caravan was stolen, our right to a happy retirement was stolen.’

The couple, who live in a semi-detached home in Tongham, Surrey, were in between insurance policies at the time of the theft in 2011 so were not covered for a payout.

In an apologetic letter, PC Karen East of Hampshire Constabulary told them the matter was out of the force’s hands. It read: ‘Unfortunately it has transpired that we have no lawful power to recover the caravan. It will be the responsibility of you as the owner to start civil proceedings against the current occupier.’

The letter added: ‘I sincerely apologise for this decision and I am sure that you feel the onus has been put back to you but my hands have been tied due to police powers.’

Last September police located and identified the caravan in Hook, Hampshire, after interviewing a suspect for an unrelated offence. But because officers did not have evidence that the current occupier knew the caravan was stolen when he allegedly purchased it, he could not be prosecuted and the force said it was unable to seize it.

Mr Curry, 53, who gave up his job as an HGV driver after being diagnosed with diabetes, said the police refused to reveal the caravan’s exact location.

‘I just cannot comprehend it,’ he said. ‘If I was stopped by the police and it turned out my car, which I had brought in good faith, was stolen, it would be confiscated and I would lose my money.’

Mr Curry said they bought the caravan in 2007 and would use it for family weekends away in Cornwall, Cumbria, Scotland and the south coast. It was stolen from a secure storage site in Crookham, Hampshire, after thieves disabled the alarm and cut through a wheel clamp and lock.

When the caravan was eventually found the couple were asked to provide proof of ownership, a logbook and photos.

They learned that the family found living in the caravan had taken it all over the country before temporarily settling down ten miles away from them.

Mr Curry said: ‘Apparently they had a receipt for it and had paid a guy £300 in a pub for it.

‘They had no proof apart from a handwritten note on a scrap of paper, while we had everything proving it was ours. If they wanted a caravan, why not save up for it like we did?

‘I have lost all faith in the police. It seems that they have completely let us down and turned their backs on us.’

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: ‘A 22-year-old man from Hook was arrested and interviewed on suspicion of theft, however there was insufficient evidence to prove he had been involved in the theft, or would have known the caravan was stolen when he bought it. He was released with no further action.

‘We have no police powers to seize the caravan and have advised the owners to seek civil action in order to recover it.’

UK: Surgeon Faces Being Struck Off for Conning Wealthy Widow Who Inherited £1.4million After Starting Relationship When Her Husband Died

A leading surgeon faces being struck off after he conned a wealthy widow out of hundreds of thousands of pounds by persuading her to ‘invest’ money into joint bank accounts and funding his children’s school fees.

Dr Ashraf Elnazir, a leading colonic specialist based at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, befriended Gabriella Adler-Jensen after her husband Harry died, leaving her a £1.4m estate.

The father-of-three persuaded her to buy property, land and ‘invest’ money in joint bank accounts between 2003 and 2006, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service has heard.

Dr Elnazira also suggested she transfer large sums of cash into foreign bank accounts then misappropriated the funds for his own gain.

Mrs Adler-Jensen’s financial position diminished ‘in direct proportion’ to the doctor’s own wealth increasing, the hearing was told.

Tunisia: Al Qaida Victims Commemorated, Ennahda Criticised

Thousands desmontrate in Tunis

Several women took part in a demonstration in Tunis to commemorate the eight soldiers killed

(ANSAmed) — TUNIS — Thousand of people commemorated on Tuesday night eight soldiers killed on Mount Chaambi by Islamic militants.

Demonstrators gathered in small groups in front of the defence ministry building, at the Kasba, many carrying candles and national flags. A great number of youths and women participated, many could not hold back tears.

When the square was full, demonstrators recited a fatiha, a prayer to commemorate the murdered soldiers. Human rights advocate and lawyer Leila Ben Debba addressed the crowd and then a minute of silence was observed, before the national anthem was sung by participants. But once demonstrators finished singing, a number of people started chanting slogans against Islamic party Ennahda and its leader Rached Gannouchi, slammed as an ‘assassin’.

In several parts of the Kasba’s great square demonstrators had lit up candles and recited prayers. Security in the area was tight and the crowd began walking towards Bardo square, where the Constituent Assembly is based and where a sit-in by government opponents has been ongoing for days.

‘We Want Divine Payback for Spanish Cops’

A terrorist video demanding the “divine punishment” of the Spanish policemen who last month arrested eight terror suspects in Spain’s African enclave of Ceuta has led the Spanish government to open an investigation.

Spain’s Civil Guard and National Police arrested the eight men on suspicion of being part of an Al Qaeda network recruiting jihadists from Ceuta and Morocco to fight in countries such as Syria.

Madrid’s National Court said in a written ruling last month that at least five of those sent by the group to Syria had died there carrying out suicide attacks.

Among the suspects the court named Karim Abdeselam Mohamed, 39, as the leader of the network.

The operation, which began in 2009, led Spanish police to search various houses in Ceuta in June.

Ammunition of varying calibres and videos inciting Muslims to wage the holy war of Jihad were found after the raids, Spanish daily El País reported.

A month after the arrest of the eight suspects, a YouTube video thought to have been filmed in Ceuta’s Benzú mosque has caused concern in the Spanish government.

Ceuta’s government official Francisco Antonio González told online daily 20 minutos it wasn’t the first time radical calls to arms had been filmed in the Ceuta mosque.

Spanish authorities are still seeking the head of the group, who lives outside Spain but has family roots in Ceuta.

New English Review: Rebellion Against the Arab Spring Inflames the Middle East

by Jerry Gordon and Mike Bates with Jonathan Schanzer and Shoshana Bryen (August 2013)

Egypt’s military led by Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi eclipsed the short autocratic reign of (Former) President Mohammed Morsi on July 3, 2013. The coup came in response to the rebellion of millions in major cities across Egypt representing the Tamarod, organized by four opposition group leaders. Hundreds have been killed in the ensuing violence by Muslim Brotherhood, opposition, military and security police. One of those casualties was an American college student, Andrew Pochter, killed as a bystander at an Alexandria demonstration outside a local Muslim Brotherhood office. Secretaries Kerry and Hagel expressed concern over the Egyptian Military’s inability to rein in the violence stressing the necessity of including all groups, a reference to the Muslim Brotherhood, in a new government. The US Department of Defense has put a temporary hold on delivery of four F-16s to Egypt under the provisions of the 1979 Camp David Accords. What Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies called a “coup-volution” may have been in the planning stages for some time. The timing of Morsi’s ouster may have been triggered by the massive street demonstrations of opposition forces versus Muslim Brotherhood supporters of now ousted President Morsi. He and other former officials of the Muslim Brotherhood are now charged by the interim government with sedition.

Former Muslim Brotherhood leader Morsi was Egypt’s first freely elected President after decades of leadership by military strongmen like Gens. Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak. Those strongmen had suppressed the Muslim Brotherhood, which had spent decades underground creating a network of health and social welfare agencies and forming a political party in Egypt.. The overthrow of Gen. Mubarak in February 2011 arose from mass demonstrations in Cairo’s Tahrir Square. A jailbreak organized by the Muslim Brotherhood with the aid of Hamas and the Hezbollah in Egypt freed hundreds, including Morsi, in January 2011. That became the springboard for the electoral campaign that brought Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood to power in June 2012…

Nigeria: Christians Murdered

A man accused of helping a Saudi woman convert to Christianity was sentenced to six years in prison and 300 lashes. The daughter was also sentenced to six years and 300 lashes, causing her to flee, reportedly to Sweden, where authorities are trying to find her and extradite her back to Saudi Arabia.

Nigeria continues to be the most dangerous nation for Christians—where more Christians have been killed last year than all around the Muslim world combined. In one instance, Boko Haram Muslim militants stormed the home of a Pentecostal pastor and secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and opened fire on him, instantly murdering him.

Separately, other Boko Haram gunmen killed 14 Christians, including the cousin and two nephews of the Rev. Moses Thliza, head of a Christian organization dedicated to preventing AIDS and caring for AIDS patients and orphans: Said Thliza: “My cousin, Bulus [Paul] Buba, was dragged out at gunpoint from his house by the Boko Haram members. They collected his car keys, demanded money and asked him three times to renounce his Christian faith, and three times he declined to do so [prompting them to execute him]. The attackers met three guards on duty, killed two of them by cutting their necks with knives, and then proceeded to take the third guard, Amtagu Samiyu, at gunpoint to lead them to where the keys of the deputy governor’s house is.”

As for some Christians observing a wake two kilometers away, Boko Haram Muslims asked to know know what was going on there, and when they learned that people were saying prayers for an elderly Christian woman who had died, they charged in and shot into the crowd. “The attackers went there and shot indiscriminately at the worshippers, killing eight Christians—two women and six elderly men,” said Thliza. “In all, we buried 14 Christians. Some were injured and taken to the hospital.”

Despite all this, when the Nigerian government tried militarily to confront and neutralize Boko Haram, the Obama administration criticized it, warning it not to violate the “human rights” of the Islamic terrorists.

Categorized by theme, the rest of May’s roundup of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed by theme and in country alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity:

100 War Criminals Apply for UK Asylum in a Year: Border Agency Blocks Claims Made by Suspects Accused of Genocide

Nearly 100 suspected war criminals applied to stay in Britain last year — and barely a handful have been sent home.

The figures prompted warnings that this country could be turned in to a ‘retirement home’ for torturers and murderers.

Some 800 suspected war criminals have applied to remain here over the last eight years.

However, human rights laws invariably mean that the worse their crimes, the more difficult it is to send them home.

After confessing what they have done, war criminals can then claim they face death or torture if they were to be returned home.

EU Border Agency Alarmed at Migrant Arrivals to Italy

Up to 1,300 migrants landed in last week, says Frontex

(ANSA) — Brussels, July 31 — European Union border agency Frontex expressed alarm on Wednesday at a recent wave of migrant arrivals on the southern coast of Italy.

“In the last week, 1,300 migrants landed in Sicily and Lampedusa,” said Frontex.

“It is a worrying signal that requires continuous monitoring”.

Many migrants fleeing north Africa often arrive by sea at the Port of Lampedusa or in Sicily, their first European ports of call.

But the crossing is dangerous and many drownings are reported.

Earlier this month, Pope Francis visited Lampedusa to raise awareness of the plight of migrants.

Giant Amnesty: Will GOP Embrace or Discard Blue Collar America?

“The Republican Party did not disparage the ruling class, because most of its officials are or would like to be part of it. “ — Angelo Codevilla

John O’Sullivan clarifies central issue of the Amnesty bill:

In a letter to fellow-Republicans on the Hill today, Senator Jeff Sessions declares with admirable straightforwardness that the GOP establishment’s main argument for the Gang of Eight immigration bill — that ‘the great lesson of the 2012 election is that the GOP needs to push for immediate amnesty and a drastic surge in low-skill immigration’ — is quite simply ‘nonsense.’

He is, of course, correct.

That is true, moreover, of every other argument advanced in favor of the bill by the Gang of Eight and the GOP establishment. All these arguments have been investigated to death, generally by Mark Krikorian

[…]

And as Mickey Kaus points out, its organizer, former Bush II commerce secretary Carlos Guterriez, more or less admits that this is a struggle between Republican donors and Republican voters. In fact it’s worse than that. This struggle pits a political coalition of the Republican and Democrat establishments versus blue-collar workers in both parties and of all ethnicities. And the electoral realities of such a struggle don’t favor the establishments.

Non-EU Immigrants in Italy Rise by 127,000 People in a Year

Total reached 3.7 mln, more Moroccans, Albanians, less Tunisians

(ANSAmed) — ROME — The number of non-European Union immigrants present in Italy grew by 127,000 people between January 1 of this year and last, the Italian statistics agency Istat revealed on Tuesday.

The total number of non-EU immigrants legally residing in Italy on the first of this year was 3,764,236.

Moroccans were present in the largest number, with 513,374 citizens living in Italy. Albania came next with 497,761 people — nearly 20% of the population living in the tiny Adriatic nation.

There were 304,768 Chinese, 224,588 Ukrainians and 158,308 Philippinos.

The Chinese community was growing at the fastest clip, gaining nearly 10% in a year and adding more than 27,000 people to their ranks.

The number of Tunisians fell.

Women represent 49,3% of foreigners.

Long-term residents — foreigners with open-ended residency papers — are constantly on the rise from the 1.896.223 registered in 2012 to 2.045.662 in 2013, making up 54,3% of regular immigrants. The percentage of long-term residents is particularly high in regions in the Centre-North, in particular among Albanians, Tunisians, Moroccans and Egyptians.

Between 2011 and 2012 instead the number of non-EU citizens entering the country had significantly dropped. According to Istat’s report, 263.968 new permits were issued in 2012, almost 27% less from the previous year. The drop in new arrivals affected 33% of men and 19.5% of women. New working permits dipped the most in that period — 43.1% less than in 2011 while those for families only dropped 17%.

Common Core, State Standards: You’re Letting Globalists Brainwash Your Kids

The propaganda on “Common Core Standards” is that it is a state-sponsored initiative when in fact it is totally run and developed by liberal individuals that are deeply embedded in federally-driven K-12 curriculum. It’s mission statement reads as follows:

“The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.”

It sounds all warm and fuzzy until you start reading who is behind Common Core. The list of liberal educators, think-tank luminaries and wealthy Obama supporters tell the tale. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation put up the lion’s share of the money to develop the standards. By some estimates the foundation donated $100,000,000. The group that is charged with developing the standards is Achieve, Inc. Achieve, Inc.’s president is none other than first-class liberal Michael Cohen…

Aspen’s president, one Walter Isaacson, is a flaming liberal along with most of their Board of Directors and yet on their website they have the gall to say that they are neutral and non-political. Walter Isaacson, a Harvard graduate, is “… chair emeritus of Teach for America, which recruits recent college graduates to teach in underserved communities. He was appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate to serve as the chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which oversees Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, and other international broadcasts of the United States, a position he held until 2012. He is vice-chair of Partners for a New Beginning, a public-private group tasked with forging ties between the United States and the Muslim world. He is on the board of United Airlines, Tulane University, and the Overseers of Harvard University.”

Italy: SEL Walks Out Over Northern League ‘Sodomite’ Jibe in House

Legislators leave in protest over slur

(ANSA) — Rome, July 30 — Elected members from the Left Ecology Freedom (SEL) party walked out of the Lower House in protest Tuesday after a Northern League member claimed they represented a “sodomite lobby”.

Gianluca Buonanno of the Northern League, a group in continual hot water over some members’ racist political statements, accused the SEL of representing “the sodomite lobby”.

Elected members of SEL, whose leader Nichi Vendola is gay, said that Buonanno’s comment insulted parliament as well as party members.

“We will leave this House whenever Buonanno uses insulting remarks that offend not only homosexuals, but Parliament and its institutions”, said the SEL.

Erasmo Palazzolo of the SEL said his colleagues would not return until the House officials censure Buonanno.

Ettore Rosato of the Democratic Party denounced what he called the “indecent” attitude of the Northern League which has been associated with several racist comments against Italy’s first black cabinet minister.

Northern League Deputy Senate Speaker Roberto Calderoli is being investigated for aggravated defamation and incitement of racial hatred for comparing Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge to an orangutan.

Calderoli made the comparison, which he called “a joke”, during a rally for the anti-immigrant Northern League at a festival near his home city of Bergamo.

And earlier this spring Mario Borghezio, who was an Italian member of the European Parliament where he represented the League, apologized for racist comments he made about Kyenge.

“I feel I must express my apologies to the minister,” he said.

ObamaCare Supporters Sign Petition for “Mandatory Euthanasia” of Senior Citizens (Video)

People eagerly sign as activist tells them “We’re going to put them to sleep like you would your dog”

A video clip posted to YouTube by activist Mark Dice shows supporters of Obamacare blindly signing a petition calling for “mandatory euthanasia” under the new health law.

Dice was able to gather several signatures for the fake petition, telling people in San Diego that they were signing to support putting senior citizens “to sleep” in order to save healthcare costs.

“All I needed to do was mention the key words ‘Will you help Obama’ and people sign just about anything,” Dice noted.

In one exchange with a young male passer by, the Social commentator states “This is supporting a euthanasia program to kill senior citizens.” The man responds with the question “if I sign this am I helping to kill old people or helping not to kill them? When Dice explained that “yeah, you’re going to help put them down like you put down your dog,” the man grabbed the petition and said “yeah lets do this,” signing his name with glee and telling Dice “awesome, thank you.”
