Eight Questions for Modern Multicultural Malmö

The following questions from an unknown Swedish writer were rearranged and translated by Hans Erling Jensen at Eticha.dk.

Some really good questions — hard to answer!

Dear readers,

Since Multiculturalism apparently has come to stay, and all the political parties present in Parliament except one are fighting to outdo each other in arguments for expanding immigration to Sweden, regardless of which country or which part of the world the new “Swedes” comes from, I thought that we maybe could go to Malmö and check out the conditions on that continental and Multiculturalism-fortified city!

I myself live in another part of Sweden, far from Stockholm and Malmö, and in my town there is still a relatively stable monoculture, although there are some areas that are more enriched than others.

Since Multiculturalism here in Sweden has been highlighted so often by our politicians during the last thirty years for producing so many splendid results, I would obviously like to know what prosperity and success I can expect when my town one fine day becomes just as multicultural as Malmö. Therefore I would like to ask some questions of you — who are reading this — and obviously I hope that some politicians also read this, so the answers will be more qualified.

I want to state that I will not appreciate ironic answers. If one wishes to make a point in serious cases like this, it is better if it is done — in my opinion — effectively and objectively.

The first question is actually quite simple:

1. How large a profit does Malmö make in relation to other Swedish cities?

I imagine that the economy must be fairly good, considering the great advantage the city has due to its huge numbers of immigrants and the high degree of enriching Multiculturalism which precisely characterizes Malmö.

So, is Malmö one of the wealthiest municipalities in Sweden?

2. In what ways can I expect my municipality’s revenues will increase when Multiculturalism expands?

I have read that immigration will lead to more exports and exchanges of goods and valuables with other countries, and thus higher tax revenues for both state and municipality. To give this question more relevance, I pray that someone can tell me more about what we in Sweden export to Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan, so I might have an opportunity to climb aboard the train? Also I would like to ask if there are other resources — that are not tax-funded — that will benefit myself and my community?

3. I wonder how it goes with segregation in Malmö?

I imagine that our intensive integration policy has meant that there are many mixed areas, where Swedes and Kurds, Afghans, Somalis, Jews, Iraqis, Palestinians and others live side by side in one big happy family…?

4. How can I expect that multiculturalism in the future will enrich me and my community more than the visible signs that exists today: pizzerias, Chinese restaurants, sharwama and kebab outlets and tobacco kiosks and greengrocers with leftover fruit from the auction hall?

How will my life be improved within the next decade, when thousands of Somalis, Afghans, Palestinians and Iraqis move in to my community? What is it we are missing in my town today, so that life can move forward and that we should be able to make such progress that has already been implemented and exists in Malmö?

5. How much has crime decreased, and how much has security improved, since Malmö some decades ago was predominantly mono-cultural?

Since Multiculturalism, according to the information I have been given, equips us with a feeling that we are primarily a people with high attachment to each other instead of separate cultural or ethnic groups, I assume that everyone takes care of each other and ensures that everyone is doing well. It surely cannot fail to have a positive impact on crime rates, can it?

6. How do the schools in Malmö work?

I imagine after what I hear about the benefits of Multiculturalism that the free exchange between cultures should lead to a massive sharing of knowledge and progress — in contrast to the usual monotonous training, like I myself and my children were been forced to go through. Back then it was only the ordinary subjects that mattered: mathematics, English, Swedish, history, geography and such things.

7. Does the large influx of new settlers and the consequent Multiculturalism in Malmö naturally lead to better development, innovation, international exchange, progress, openness between cultures and ethnic groups, and many other benefits, if I understand our politicians correctly?

Of course I understand that the relative monoculture in my town leads to stagnation, xenophobia, lack of entrepreneurs and inventions, and similar drawbacks. I have not personally seen it yet, but it is an inevitable fact that we will be left completely behind if we do not immediately open the municipality’s boundary and allow a massive invasion from the most far away places, regardless of culture or ethnicity.

Let us learn from you in Malmö! Tell us what areas in Malmö, which is under the influence of Multiculturalism, that you, as a local from Malmö, are most proud of? If I can learn the answer to that it will be much easier for me, who am a total outsider, to identify the progress that our small community can expect in the future!

8. Finally, I would also like to ask if there are areas in Malmö, where — God forbid — Multiculturalism has led to any disadvantages?

Are these inconveniences in this case caused by a failed integration policy, and what resources are needed to address these shortcomings?

Rounding up!

By the way, here at the very end: Why don’t our politicians not use Malmö and other well-functioning multicultural cities much more intentionally to inform us about all the benefits of Multiculturalism and mass immigration?

Surely that would smash any arguments put forward by the many xenophobic reactionaries who, thanks be to God, are not allowed to go on TV or to write in the real newspapers, although they have so much power on blogs and other disreputable places!

Thank you in advance for your sagacious answers!

  1. In order to answer these questions for you I suggest you contact “annonomous” who posted several times in the comment section of “Socialists on Ice.”
He/she seemed to know all the answers.

    Annonomous states:

“The party is commonly referred to as the Moderate Party. Their youth organization is the Swedish Young Conservatives.
Our popular support has doubled in ten years, surpassed the social democratic party and now we rule. I would expect you to be at least vaguely aware of who we are. Considering that we are the strongest political force in Scandinavia…”

This is clearly the person and party that would have very positive remarks to make regarding the advent of mulitculturalism in your community/district. I feel confident that they would be able to explain to you the benefits of the current societal situation in Malmo and how it would help your community as well.

Although, I must say that the fact that “annonomous of the Moderate Party” failed to even present his/her remarks with a “nic” was somewhat troubling.

  2. It has always been one of the puzzling elements in the agenda of social planners that they can easily see that the decisions they want will not be achieved without the institution of strong government mechanisms to mandate preferences (in this case, vastly increased immigration of certain nationalities), but cannot seem to guess that the reason that this would not happen without such preferences is because the results of those decisions are not very desirable.

  3. Too funny (and yet sad) but I’ll jump

    1. None. Or maybe a little deficit.

    2. No, but you can always visit Pakistan, and we’re looking forward to hear from you.

    Pakistan Security Pakistan,
    Travel Advice on Pakistan

Security & safety has always been questioned and people have always had wrong ideas about the situation in Pakistan. We do believe and wish to assure all tourist in Pakistan of the following things.

    1. There is no threat to lives or goods of any foreign tourist in any area of Pakistan. There are no purse snatchers , Nor there are any kind of hatreds or dis-likeness to foreign tourist in Pakistan

    2. Pakistan being a Muslim country has a liberal atmosphere for women. Women are free to go out in bazaars, mosques or any where they want but as it is norm of the Muslim society, we do recommend modest dress for both Men & Women. A t-shirt with full pants or Long Skirt is fine. T shirt with half sleeves is also OK.

    3. There had been some troubles lately in the country but all that is in a part of Pakistan where there is no interest of tourist nor some one ever needs to go or pass bye. Secondly Government is taking very strict measures to cut this problem.

    4. The Interior of Sindh is culturally a very rich province and has no problems as such . When you are there in Moen Jo Daro or any other place you are well taken care of by the friendly locals and our staff.

    5. Khyber pass & other tribal areas have a system of tribal jury and sometimes there are clashes among the tribes but they can not be witnessed on the main road where Tourist travel. Yet we provide proper security guards for the tours in these tribal areas.

    6. The Mountainous areas of Hunza, Gilgit, Chitral, Swat, Karakorum Highway & Skardu are very safe and there is no violence or ant major trouble in these areas. Tourism is main source of income in these areas and people want more and more tourists.

    3. Excellent. They love each other to bits. Literally.

    4. Yes, there are no Chinese pizzerias in your neighbourhood. We are working on it.

    5. A lot.

    6. You go to school and you come back from school. Or do you need schooling?

    7. I’m not a local, so I’ll pass.

    8. None. Everything is perfect.

  4. I love these questions! I often ask my multiculturalist friends things like these. We need to remember that in our opposition to multiculturalism we are actually empiricists.

I would like to add a few more
    – Can you name a time or place where religious minorities had equal rights, in both theory and practice, in an islamic majority country?

    – Can you name the scientist or theory which proved that there is absolutely no variation in brain structure among ethnic groups?

    – Do you acknowledge that buddhists have the lowest crime rates? Do you know which religion has the highest?

    Zarathustra

  5. “And now we rule”sounds very anti-democratic to me ,but natural for a marxist, who love the common man as long as they are allowed to issue him with orders, and restrictions on his speech, choose his friends, surround him with violent aliens, tell him where to work, for how long, how many children he may have and what he may spend his pocket money on,who needs democracy?

  6. Here in the UK property prices give a good indication of how desirable an area is to live in. So, given how wonderful multicultural areas are supposed to be you’d obviously expect the most multicultural places to have the highest prices.

Well, here’s the thing: it just isn’t the case. For example, average property prices for Luton (heavily multicultural) and Hitchin (15 miles away and relatively monocultural) are:

    Luton £165K
    Hitchin £285K

    Or how about:

    Slough £259K (multicultural)
Windsor £432K (a mere 5 miles away but monocultural)

    See: http://www.zoopla.co.uk/heatmaps/

So, how come the received wisdom that multicultural areas are the most desirable hasn’t filtered through to the general population?

Why haven’t we seen a massive exodus of people from monocultural to multicultural areas?

  7. #8 Anonymos
sorry to disappoint you, but Thailand has an extremely high crime rate, murder in first place. We should however not feel too concerned about it, because tourists are not targeted and most are crimes “of passion”.

  8. In addition to my post above at #2 I wanted to add that the apparently abductions and forced conversions and marriages are just bad rumors circulated by the Afghan tourism offices in order to steal our guests.

  9. Great read very sagacious. We need more of it. Watling you also made an excellent point about the price of real estate. Another one would be, if its so necessary and so great why don’t our politicians who make this happen and force it on us as if good medicine, live in these neighborhoods. If it is so desirable? why don’t the put some affordable housing zones in their way? Why do they tend to live in homogeneous neighborhoods, oh is it the price?
Well according to leftist political jargon and logic which they talk bit do not walk; shouldn’t it be considered economic discrimination even if by default and shouldn’t they be forced to have a quota of families moved next door to them? Why are all these political quotas and affirmative actions enacted upon the middle class or other classes who honestly can least afford them both economically and culturally?
Of course we know the answer before we ask the question.
