Yesterday’s stock market boost — kicked off by the Fed’s announcement that it will be buying more T-bills — didn’t last. Today the Dow dropped 2.5%, and the Nasdaq 3%. The economic outlook remains somewhat grim.
In other news, a large Iraqi militia has switched sides, and is working for Al Qaeda again. Rumor has it that Al Qaeda outbid the Iraqi government with its salary offer.
