The Greek debt crisis has been “resolved” yet again, this time with a new loan totaling €30 billion from the EU-16 group of nations. The Greek stock market rose 4.2% in reaction to the news. News reports do not indicate how Greece will be able to repay the new loans any more readily than it could repay the previous batch.
In other news, the new energy-saving light bulbs — which many people have learned to hate — have been found to interfere with television remote controls by flickering at a certain frequency when they are first turned on.
