Last week Pvt. William Andrew Long was killed — and Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula was wounded — in the line of duty while working at an army recruiting center in Little Rock. Their assailant was a Muslim named Abdulhakim Muhammad, who shot them both as an act of jihad against the United States and non-Muslims.
Vlad Tepes is pressing for a purple heart to be awarded to both men, who were wounded in combat against the enemies of our country:

The Purple Heart differs from all other decorations in that an individual is not “recommended” for the decoration; rather he or she is entitled to it upon meeting specific criteria. A Purple Heart is authorized for the first wound suffered . . .Enemy-related injuries which justify the award of the Purple Heart include injury caused by enemy bullet, shrapnel, or other projectile created by enemy action; injury caused by enemy placed land mine, naval mine, or trap; injury caused by enemy released chemical, biological, or nuclear agent; injury caused by vehicle or aircraft accident resulting from enemy fire; concussion injuries caused as a result of enemy generated explosions.. .A Purple Heart may be issued to a fallen veteran’s next of kin in the event that they are deceased. Issue will be made automatically by the Commanding General, PERSCOM, upon receiving a report of death indicating entitlement. . .Documentation and inquiries should be directed to Commander, PERSCOM, ATTN: TAPC-PDA, Alexandria, VA 22332-0471. Any member of the U.S. Army who believes that he or she is eligible for the Purple Heart, but through unusual circumstances no award was made, may submit an application through military channels, to Commander, PERSCOM, ATTN: TAPC PDA, Alexandria, VA 22332-0471. Application will include complete documentation, to include evidence of medical treatment, pertaining to the wound.

There is a war on and the enemy has penetrated into the homeland with many cells.
This soldier and his wounded friend are clear victims of this war and they and their suffering families deserve the recognition of their loss and any consolation the purple heart can bring them.
How this is going to play out with a President and Commander of the Armed Forces who has a fatal attraction for the enemy if he does not outright share their goals of humbling and weakening the USA is a mystery.
