Food Bank Usage Set to Climb as Canadians Cope With Inflation, Higher Prices

Desperate times call for desperate measures, as more Canadians will access food banks than in previous years to put food on the table.

In March 2023, Canadians visited food banks over 1.9 million times — a 32% increase year over year, reads a Food Banks Canada report.

A separate study corroborated that the demand for food banks remains high and is expected to increase by 18% this year. It says the result of higher demand will force more than a third (36%) of food banks to turn hungry Canadians away.

Canadians rejoiced when the federal government pledged to counter food inflation last fall. After lower-income Canadians received a one-time grocery rebate, but nothing further, that enthusiasm diminished greatly.

More Canadians Choosing to Live Abroad Due to Affordability Crisis

The cost of living is driving many Canadians to live abroad for better work, a new study finds.

Canada is also struggling to retain new citizens, as evidenced by onward migration — people who leave Canada after immigrating here — jumping up by 31% between 2017 and 2019, according to a new study.

The study, released Monday by the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, revealed that the primary reason so many newly naturalized Canadians decide to leave the country after “four to seven years of arrival” is an inability to take part in economic opportunities.

Biden Administration Puts Hold on US Ammunition Shipment to Israel: Report

The Biden administration last week halted a shipment of US-made ammo that was slated to go to Israel — a decision that reportedly sent members of the Israeli government into a tizzy as they tried to figure out why the delivery has been withheld.

The move marks the first time since Hamas’ deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attack that the United States has hit the brakes on a weapons shipment to its longtime Middle East ally, according to Axios, which learned of the decision from two Israeli officials.

When questioned, a White House National Security Council spokesperson told Fox News that the administration has supported Israel since Hamas’ assault, which left 1,200 Israelis dead.

CAIR Asks Prosecutors to Lock Up Journalists Exposing Hamas Supporters

Weeks after the Hamas murders, rapes and kidnappings of Oct 7, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) began meeting with attorney generals around the country.

Beyond CAIR’s existing effort to establish that Muslims, not Jews, were the real victims, the Islamist organization whose roots are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of Hamas, were persuading top state prosecutors to go after Jewish anti-terror activists.

CAIR’s San Francisco Bay Area staff and Islamist allies met with California Attorney General Rob Bonta and urged him to enforce laws against what the group claimed was “doxxing”. Under California law, doxxing can be punished by up to a year in prison. Bonta has been considering running for governor and might be amenable to doing what it took to win Islamist support.

Shortly afterward, CAIR’s Massachusetts chapter met with Attorney General Andrea Campbell and urged her to create an “anti-doxxing task force” to target pro-Israel and Jewish groups. CAIR MA’s legal director claimed that it had met with Campbell to “flesh out what current laws might apply and what possibly new ones might help in these situations.” The attorney general’s office expressed concern about “harassment”, but fell short of promising to lock up journalists.

There’s no word on whether that task force was ever created, but the obvious target would have been the Jewish activists, organizations and journalists investigating antisemitism at Harvard.

CAIR was worried about anyone exposing its support for terrorism and it had good reason to be.

Cognitive Decline: Biden Campaign Says They Will Shorten His Speeches

Fetterman Says Anti-Israel Campus Protests ‘Working Against Peace’ in Middle East, Not Putting Hostages First

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., on Sunday slammed the anti-Israel protests that have taken over college campuses nationwide as working against peace in the Middle East, adding that he’s frustrated that those taken hostage by Hamas during the Oct. 7 attack on Israel have not been put first.

Fetterman, who has been outspoken against the protesters, wondered why they are demonstrating against Israel and not Hamas, which he says has refused a recent cease-fire deal during his appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“These kinds of protests haven’t been helpful, and ironically, they are actually working against peace in the Middle East as well,” Fetterman said. “And it’s also very strange to me that they’re not actually protesting for a cease-fire now. There’s been a very valid cease-fire that’s been on the table now and Hamas has refused to take that on.”

Moderna Promises Investors ‘Next Generation’ Vaccines Will Surge Profits

Pharmaceutical giant Moderna has promised investors that a coming “next generation” of vaccines is going to reward them with massive profits.

The pledge came following an earnings report which showed the company posted a first-quarter loss of $1.2 billion.

The huge losses are down to dwindling demand for the company’s Covid mRNA injections.

In the first three months of 2024, sales of the company’s Covid shots were a mere $167 million.

During the same period last year, however, Moderna took $2.8 billion in profits from the experimental injections.

mRNA Inventor: Globalists Are Pushing ‘Death Agenda’ to ‘End Humanity’

Dr. Malone, the inventor of the mRNA technology used in Covid shots, warns that world leaders and globalist organizations such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) and United Nations (UN) want to depopulate the planet so they can replace humans with artificial intelligence-powered machines.

As Slay News has reported, the WEF has frequently promoted this anti-human agenda.

WEF members argue that most of civilization will become “useless” when industries are powered by an AI-driven workforce.

Malone raised the alarm about the plot during an interview on the Alex Jones Show.

Pritzker Doubles-Down With $827 Million Taxpayer Handout to Troubled EV-Maker Rivian

Authored by Mark Glennon via Wirepoints.org

At $1.5 million per job, this new incentive package from the state is at least 15 times the norm. For this much money, the state could have just handed out a million bucks to 827 people, instead of creating 550 jobs.

Gov. JB Pritzker announced Thursday that the State of Illinois will provide an $827 million incentive package for Rivian to invest $1.5 billion to expand its electric vehicle factory in Normal, Illinois. The expansion is expected to create at least 550 full-time jobs within the next five years, and will build Rivian’s next model EV, the R2. Rivian initially got $49.5 million under Gov. Bruce Rauner in 2017 to create 1,000 jobs at the same location.

The new deal gives $1.5 million per job created, which is astronomical in the world of location incentives. Estimated average location incentives paid by state and local governments around the nation range from $13,000 to $84,000 per job, though sometimes go as high as $100,000 per job for capital intensive projects. Even using that high end, Rivian’s package will be 15 times what’s typical.

Reporter Stunned by Biden Voters’ Comments on Economy: ‘Nostalgia for Trump Years … Really Shocking to Me’

President Biden is facing an uphill battle to convince voters the November election is a “referendum” on Donald Trump because even Democratic voters have “nostalgia” for the Trump years, a reporter argued on ABC’s “This Week.”

NPR White House correspondent Asma Khalid confessed that the Biden campaign would have trouble selling its message on Trump because “many voters are looking at this election as a referendum on [Biden].”

Tensions Run High During Dueling Pro-Palestinian, Pro-Israel Protests at DePaul’s Lincoln Park Quad

CHICAGO (WLS) — DePaul University issued an alert on Sunday morning asking students to avoid the Lincoln Park Quad amid dueling pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian protests.

Tensions ran high on the sixth day of the pro-Palestinian encampment at DePaul as dozens of pro-Israel demonstrators showed up to counter-protest.

Counter-protesters said they wanted to stand up for Israel and combat what’s happening on college campuses across the country.

Dozens of Chicago police officers lined the sidewalk outside of the quad, standing in between both sides to prevent further escalation.

Officers said protesters were throwing things at one another and getting physical at one point.

Anti-Israel University of Ottawa Protesters Obey Handler Instructions to Ignore Reporters, Disrupt Interviews

Almost all protesters at Saturday’s Worker Solidarity With Palestine demonstration in Ottawa, ON, refused to speak with Rebel News after being directed by minders not to speak with news media.

The protesters congregated at the University of Ottawa, which is now becoming an encampment resembling similar protests seen at New York University, Columbia University, and McGill University. Tents were seen at the protest location.

The protests regularly feature claims of “genocide” being committed by the Israeli government against Palestinians and calls for the state of Israel to somehow be dismantled or destroyed.

Immediately after Rebel News‘s arrival at the demonstration, a protest handler — a white middle-aged man identified as Clayton Goodwin — advised other protest organizers to disrupt any interviews with attending protesters. These disruption techniques included the creation of noise via bullhorns, whistles, and drum banging in the vicinity of interviews to distract participants and destroy the quality of audio recordings.

Appeal Could See Pastor Artur Pawlowski Exonerated on All COVID-19 Charges

The enforcement of draconian COVID-19 measures saw several churches shuttered and numerous pastors arrested across Canada, so much so that United States Senator Josh Hawley suggested that Canada should be added a U.S. religious freedoms watchlist.

Alberta was one of the worst offenders when it came to persecuting Christians during COVID-19, which came as a surprise to many as then-premier Jason Kenney, a practicing Catholic, had been a champion of international religious freedoms as a federal politician prior to breaking his own promise on vaccine passports and jailing pastors for keeping their churches open to all.

Kenney, somewhat ironically, recently spoke at an event tackling global religious persecution despite his actions throughout the ‘pandemic’.

Pastor Artur Pawloski was undoubtedly one of the most prosecuted men in Canada and he amassed a litany of legal charges all for daring to feed the homeless, keep his church open and for preaching a message of peace to the Coutts truckers during their protest at the Alberta-U.S. border.

Hamas Says Latest Cease-Fire Talks Have Ended. Israel Vows Military Operation in ‘Very Near Future.’

JERUSALEM — The latest round of Gaza cease-fire talks ended in Cairo after “in-depth and serious discussions,” the Hamas militant group said Sunday, reiterating key demands that Israel again rejected. After earlier signs of progress, the outlook appeared to dim as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to resist international pressure to halt the war.

Israel closed its main crossing point for delivering badly needed humanitarian aid for Gaza after Hamas attacked it. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant claimed Hamas wasn’t serious about a deal and warned of “a powerful operation in the very near future in Rafah and other places across all of Gaza.”

Israel didn’t send a delegation to the talks mediated by Egypt and Qatar. Egyptian state media reported that the Hamas delegation went for discussions in Qatar, where the group has a political office, and will return to Cairo for further negotiations on Tuesday.

Another threat to talks came as Israel ordered the local offices of Qatar’s Al Jazeera satellite news network to close, accusing it of broadcasting anti-Israel incitement. The ban did not appear to affect the channel’s operations in Gaza or the West Bank.

Hamas Armed Wing Claims Responsibility for Deadly Attack on Israel-Gaza Crossing

CAIRO, May 5 (Reuters) — The armed wing of Palestinian Islamist group Hamas claimed responsibility on Sunday for an attack on the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza that Israel said killed three of its soldiers.

Israel’s military said 10 projectiles were launched from Rafah in southern Gaza towards the area of the crossing, which it said was now closed to aid trucks going into the coastal enclave. Other crossings remained open.

Hamas’ armed wing said it fired rockets at an Israeli army base by the crossing, but did not confirm where it fired them from. Hamas media quoted a source close to the group as saying the commercial crossing was not the target.

More than a million Palestinians are sheltering in Rafah, near the border with Egypt.

Shortly after the Hamas attack, an Israeli airstrike hit a house in Rafah killing three people and wounding several, Palestinian medics said.

Israel Raids Al Jazeera Offices, Pulls the Plug on Broadcast Operations

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the government’s decision to terminate Al Jazeera’s operations in Israel, citing the Qatari-owned network as a provocateur of “incitement.” The closure was unanimously agreed upon by the cabinet. Reacting strongly, Al Jazeera labeled the Israeli government’s action as “criminal.”

The restrictions also extend to foreign journalists, notably barring them from entering Gaza, leaving Al Jazeera’s personnel among the few reporters present on the ground. This decision has been informed by longstanding accusations from Israeli authorities of the network’s alleged anti-Israel bias. The criticism has escalated following the deadly Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Russian Troops Capture Another Key Donbass Stronghold — MoD (Video)

by RT

Russian troops continue to make gains in Donbass, and have captured the strategically important village of Ocheretino to the north of Donetsk, the Defense Ministry has said.

In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said the Russian “Center” group of forces had “completely liberated” the settlement “as a result of active [battle] actions.” Ocheretino is located some 25km northwest of the town of Avdeevka, which was taken by Moscow’s troops in February.

Earlier reports suggested that Russian forces captured the southern part Ocheretino as they advanced along a local rail line. Due to its infrastructure and geographical position, it played a major role in Ukraine’s defense in the area, as it helped to provide supplies to Kiev troops. Western media have suggested that after capturing Ocheretino, Russia could try to envelop Ukrainian troops in the neighboring sectors of the front.

According to Deep State, a Ukrainian analytical Telegram channel, the collapse of the defense in the area was triggered by a rotation blunder. The outlet claimed that the Ukrainian 115th Mechanized Brigade failed to relieve the 47th Brigade in time, leaving a portion of the front wide open to Russian attacks. The leadership of the 115th Mechanized Brigade has denied the accusation.

Moscow’s gains in Ocheretino appeared to be confirmed last month by a video circulating on social media showing a Russian flag being raised over an administrative building in the village.

In an interview with the Economist at the start of May, the deputy head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Vadim Skibitsky, said he expected Russia to continue its offensive in Donbass, noting that Kiev was struggling to fight back due to a lack of weapons. “They always knew April and May would be a difficult time for us,” he said, in an apparent reference to delays in Western assistance.

He also suggested, as quoted by the outlet, that it is “probably a matter of time” before Chasov Yar, another Donbass high-ground stronghold, would fall just like Avdeevka. Chasov Yar is located not far from Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine), a scene of bitter fighting last year.

The latest developments on the battlefield come after Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said in April that Moscow’s troops were firmly in control of the initiative in the conflict, and steadily pushing Ukraine’s forces back. Earlier this month, he estimated Ukrainian military losses at 111,000 this year alone.

India: Plan to Kill Hindutva Leaders With the Help of Pak Handlers

A Maulvi arrested by Gujarat Police

Shivam Chaturvedi | HENB | New Delhi | May 4, 2024:: A Muslim cleric (Maulavi) was arrested in Surat in Gujarat on Saturday for allegedly planning to murder the leaders involved in Hindu organisations and threatening the chief editor of Sudarshan television channel as well BJP’s Telangana MLA Raja Singh and the party’s former spokesperson Nupur Sharma in connivance with his handlers from Pakistan and Nepal, a senior police official said.

Surat police commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot identified the arrested accused as Maulvi Sohel Abubakr Timol (27), who worked at a thread factory as a manager and offered private tuition on Islam to Muslim children.

He was found to be conspiring with people from Pakistan and Nepal to offer Rs 1 crore ‘supari’ (contract for killing) and procure weapons from Pakistan to kill the national president of Hindu Sanatan Sangh Upadesh Rana, said Gehlot.

“After his detention, we found several objectionable contents in his mobile phones, including the one regarding offering Rs 1 crore for the murder of Updesh Rana. For this, he was in continuous touch with persons/numbers from Pakistan and Nepal,” Gehlot told PTI.

Antecedents reveal that Sohel Abubakr Timol is also supposedly involved with the plan of targeted killing of other Hindutva faces like Sudarshan television channel editor Suresh Chavhanke, BJP’s Telangana MLA Raja Singh and BJP’s former National spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

“Timol was also found to be involved in issuing threats to Rana in March this year. The accused used a virtual number from Laos to issue threats to the target by connecting numbers from Pakistan and Nepal in his group call,” Gehlot said…

Aus Police Shoot 16-Yr-Old Boy After He Stabs Man

A 16-year-old boy armed with a knife was shot dead by police after he stabbed a man in the Australian west coast city of Perth, officials said on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of a hardware store in suburban Willetton on Saturday night. The teen attacked the man and then rushed at police officers before he was shot, Western Australian Premier Roger Cook told reporters on Sunday.

“There are indications he had been radicalized online,” Cook told a news conference.

“But I want to reassure the community at this stage it appears that he acted solely and alone,” Cook added.

A man in his 30s was found at the scene with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition, a police statement said.

Police and Australian Security Intelligence Organization agents have been conducting a counterterrorism investigation in the east coast city of Sydney since another 16-year-old boy stabbed an Assyrian Orthodox bishop and priest in a church on April 15.

That boy has been charged with committing a terrorist act. Six of his alleged associates have also been charged with a range of offenses, including conspiring to engage in or planning a terrorist act. All remain in custody. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he had been briefed on the latest stabbing in Perth by Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw and ASIO Director-General Mike Burgess, who heads the nation’s main domestic spy agency.

A Large Number of Turkish Citizens Are Moving to Germany as Refugees

Since July 2022, the number of asylum applications from Turkish citizens in Germany has sharply increased. Last year, over 61,000 applicants from Turkey arrived in Germany, although in 2022 there were slightly less than 24,000, and in 2021, around seven thousand. This year, around 15,000 people have already arrived in Germany from Turkey, with two-thirds of them being men, according to Bild.

However, German authorities respond to many asylum seekers with rejection: refugee agencies consider over 60% of asylum applications from Turkish citizens as “clearly unfounded.” Only one out of twelve applicants (8.4%) is granted refugee status.

Other Canadians will continue to pay $151.25 for a season’s pass for up to seven family members or $75.25 for an individual season’s pass that is good for any federally owned park. A day pass for what is perhaps the best-known national park in Canada — in Banff, AB — is $11 a day.

Inside Trump’s Plan to Deport ‘Nearly 20 Million’ Illegal Migrants From the US

Donald Trump has vowed to deliver the “largest mass deportation effort” in American history if he gets back into office next year, targeting millions of illegal migrants across the country.

The Trump 2024 campaign has not gotten into the details of what resources would be needed to find, detain and deport the “nearly 20 million” illegal migrants they say are currently in the US.

Rwanda Refuses to Guarantee How Many UK Migrants it Will Take Under £290 Million Deal as Government Says Living in the ‘Beautiful’ East African State ‘Is Not a Punishment’

The Rwandan government today refused to guarantee how many migrants it will take from the UK under Rishi Sunak’s flagship deportation scheme.

The Prime Minister’s plan to deal with asylum seekers arriving in the UK via irregular routes including the English Channel crossing is to place them on a one-way flight to Kigali.

He hopes that the five-year deal will deter other small boats attempting the journey from France and boost Tory poll numbers before the general election later this year.

Elon Musk Asks J.K. Rowling to Move on From Posting Trans Hot Takes on X — But ‘Heartily Agrees’ With Author

Elon Musk has asked J.K. Rowling to stop posting her views about transgenderism on X, suggesting the “Harry Potter” author instead focus on creating “interesting and positive” content on the social platform he owns.

“While I heartily agree with your points regarding sex/gender, may I suggest also posting interesting and positive content on other matters?” the billionaire, 52, wrote on X on Saturday in response to a nearly month-old post by fellow billionaire Rowling in which she offered up her definition of a woman.

Rowling, 58, has long been vilified by trans rights activists for her views on sex and gender, which she frequently shares on the platform, placing herself on the receiving end of both boycotts and death threatsover the years.

Largest Review on Transgender-Youth Medicine Finds Insufficient Evidence for Medicalization

Authored by Marina Zhang via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

England may be the third country to withdraw from a “gender-affirming” treatment pathway due to recommendations from a long-awaited report.

In April, the country published the Cass Review, “most comprehensive summary on transgender-youth medicine,” psychologist Erica Anderson, who identifies as transgender and has a doctorate in clinical psychology, told The Epoch Times.

The review, chaired by Dr. Hilary Cass, British honorary physician, consultant in pediatric disability, and former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, stated that there is insufficient evidence to demonstrate the long-term benefits of medicalizing children who want to identify as a different gender. Instead, the review recommends focusing on psychotherapy.

For some clinicians and researchers, this recommendation was a long time coming. Others are concerned that it potentially threatens medicalization—currently the primary treatment—for gender-incongruent youths.

The National Health Service (NHS) England, which commissioned the report in 2020, stated it would be committed to following through on the recommendations.

  1. Re: “In other news, a 16-year-old boy armed with a knife was shot dead by police today after he stabbed a man in the Australian city of Perth. The boy is said to have been ‘radicalized’.”

If we are to assume that the perpetrator had a 100% Mohammed coefficient, then yet again we see that the mainstream media there are either ignorant of the true nature of Islam, or knowing it, choose not to tell the truth about it. Either way, what good are they for ordinary people as conduits for information?

One sees the same lack of honest report across the West and Anglophone world, almost as if a deliberate campaign of disinformation was being waged. It may just be group-think mixed with the usual leftist cowardice when it comes to truth-telling, but in the end the result is the same.

And it bears restating that the “Red-Green Alliance” is very real, the unlikely combination of allies and ideological bedfellows which are the communists and the believers of Islam. United by their shared agenda of the destruction of western civilization and hatred of Christianity, they have allied themselves under the principle that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

Returning to the young man in question who was gunned down by police, calling him radicalized does a disservice to the truth, since that young man was simply doing what his Islamic faith commanded, namely, the waging of jihad or holy war against the infidels, as commanded by the prophet.

Mohammed lived some 1,400 years ago, but during his lifetime, he stated to his followers that the waging of jihad was so central to the practice of Islam that it ought to be counted as the “sixth pillar” or obligation of the faith, alongside the five established ones taught to all believers.

And the importance assigned to it within the faith can also be measured by the reward promised to those men who perish while waging jihad against the infidels ~ the immediate ascent to paradise upon one’s death.

Western apologists for Islam, and simply those who lack knowledge of it entirely, say that jihad of the sword isn’t central to Islam, or that the word “jihad” simply means internal struggle and not actual warfare and bloodletting, but this is at best ignorance speaking, and at worse, out-and-out deception. The so-called “verses of the sword” in the Koran put the lie to these commonly-offered rationalizations.

When George W. Bush was president of the U.S., he told Americans after the 9-11-2001 attacks that “Islam was a ‘religion of peace,'” and that the members of al-Qaeda did not represent “real Islam.” These were bald-faced untruths, lies of an epic nature, which placed the members of the group at some violent and extreme periphery of the faith, when in actuality, what al-Qaeda did lies very close to the heart of the creed.

Far from being “extremists,” these attackers were devout soldiers of Allah doing as the Koran, Hadiths and the Sira commanded them to do.

The West will continue to lose this struggle against a determined enemy until it ceases living in a fantasy-land of comforting myths and untruths about the war itself and the adversary it faces. You cannot win a war in which you are involved yet refuse to acknowledge, against an enemy you refuse to name.
