Canada Heading for Prolonged Decline in Living Standards: Study

Despite what Chrystia Freeland wants Canadians to believe about the economy, Canada’s living standards have declined since 2019.

According to a study by the Fraser Institute, if per-capita GDP does not recover this year, it will mark the longest and largest decline in per-person GDP over the last four decades.

Inflation-adjusted per-person GDP, a broad measure of living standards, declined from $59,905 to $58,111, or by 3% from April 2019 to the end of 2023, the study found.

Signed Into Law: Alabama Abolishes Income Taxes on Gold and Silver

Via Money Metals

(Birmingham, Alabama — May 14, 2024) — Alabama Governor Kay Ivey last week signed a bill that removes all income taxes on capital gains from the sale of gold and silver, enabling the state to take an important step forward in reinforcing sound money principles.

With this move, Alabama joins a growing number of states prioritizing the protection of citizens against the deleterious effects of inflation, currency debasement, and mounting federal debt.

Enactment of Senate Bill 297 makes Alabama the 13th state in the nation that does not impose capital gains taxes on sales of gold and silver.

Under the new law’s provisions, any profits or losses arising from the sale of precious metals, as reported on federal tax returns, will be excluded from the calculation of an Alabama taxpayer’s adjusted gross income (AGI). This measure effectively shields individuals from punitive taxation on transactions involving constitutional forms of currency.

Adams Praises NYPD’s ‘Commendable’ Conduct at Raucous Anti-Israeli Protest — as Accused Cop-Kicker Freed Without Bail

Mayor Eric Adams on Monday called the NYPD’s conduct at a raucous anti-Israeli protest in Brooklyn “commendable” — as a marcher accused of kicking a cop was freed without bail over prosecutors’ objections.

Adams took to various morning talk shows to defend the cops against allegations of excessive force during the Bay Ridge protest, while acknowledging authorities would look at an “isolated incident” of a cop caught on video pounding a demonstrator pinned to the ground.

“Those police officers did a commendable job under very difficult circumstances,” Hizzoner told 1010 WINS radio.

Baltimore Bridge Collapse: Dali Moves for First Time in 55 Days

Dwarfing the tugboats to which it was tethered, the container ship Dali returned to the Port of Baltimore Monday morning after crews freed the vessel that had been stranded in the Patapsco River since it struck and collapsed the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26. Crews had refloated the vessel around 6:40 a.m, and 20 minutes later, the ship started moving slowly, almost imperceptibly. By 8:40 a.m., tugboats had guided the 984-foot ship into the Seagirt Marine Terminal, still bearing on its lacerated bow a chunk of the pavement from the bridge.

“We took an enormous step forward in our mission to recover from the collapse,” Gov. Wes Moore said in a statement.

Moore, who watched the operation from a boat about 500 feet from the Dali, lauded those who have worked safely and speedily in the massive and ongoing recovery effort led by the Key Bridge Unified Command. That’s the multiagency effort led by the Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland Transportation Authority and Maryland State Police.

The Dali’s slow-motion, 2.5-mile journey on Monday returned it to the port it had left 55 days earlier. Shortly after leaving the port, it lost power and careened into one of the bridge’s support pillars, plunging the span into the river. Six construction workers who were repairing potholes on the span died in the catastrophe.

Biden Risks American Lives to Protect Hamas

The United States of America has been conducting backchannel talks with Hamas to ask the Islamic terrorist organization not to attack American soldiers helping deliver aid to Gaza.

We “passed that message back through the appropriate channels to Hamas,” the White House spokesman admitted. Rather than warning Hamas not to attack or it will suffer the consequences, Biden is pleading with it from a position of weakness.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recently admitted at a congressional hearing that American soldiers operating Biden’s disastrous “aid pier” for Gaza could come under attack from Islamic terrorists.

Biden has not sent a single soldier to recover American hostages being held by Hamas, but there are now soldiers in the line of fire in order to send aid to Gaza.

In the event American forces on the pier come under attack, they would be allowed to fight back, Austin promised. But based on the rules of engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan, all the terrorists have to do is attack from a mosque or from behind civilians, and American soldiers would be banned from fighting back.

And those are the ways that Hamas tends to attack.

Biden Admin Moves to Bolster Deep State to Prepare for Trump Win

President Joe Biden’s administration is moving to bolster the bureaucratic deep state in preparation for the likely event that the Democrats will lose control of the White House after the November election.

With the 2024 election season heating up and President Donald Trump showing impressive strength in the polls, the administration is taking steps to make it difficult for Biden’s preferred regulations to be unwound in the event of a Democrat loss.

To that end, the Biden White House is working overtime to implement a host of new rules ahead of November in hopes of thwarting Trump-directed policy reversals.

These steps are particularly focused on boosting the unelected administrative deep state, as Breitbart reports.

Court Ruling Means California Schools Can Violate Students’ Rights When Following Public Health Orders

Authored by Kristin Lang via The Epoch Times

As we near the end of the school year, a new court ruling may have some parents rethinking whether they want to enroll their children in California’s public schools this fall.

Those of you living in Southern California will likely remember the case of Aidan Palicke. An academically-gifted Yorba Linda High School student and captain of the track team, Aidan was forced to take his exams outside in 40-degree weather wearing only a t-shirt. School officials singled out Aidan for wearing a formerly acceptable mesh face mask to school during the COVID era.

“I was freezing, and all of the other students were looking at me through the window,” Aidan told me.

“My fingers were in so much pain from the cold that it was hard to concentrate on my exam.”

HCSO: 23 Juveniles and 6 Adults Arrested After Canceled After-Party at Astro Skate Leads to Riot

BRANDON, Fla. — Almost 30 people were arrested Saturday night after a fight broke out in the parking lot of a Tampa-area skating rink.

Around 9:20 p.m. Saturday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a call from off-duty deputies working at Astro Skate of Brandon requesting help with a large crowd fighting in the parking lot.

According to HCSO, the fight happened after a planned after-party was canceled. Astro Skate requires people hosting private parties to hire an off-duty deputy for the event. When the party organizers did not do that, the party was canceled.

Following the cancellation of the party, the group went on social media and asked people to come and riot at the business and confront law enforcement, according to HCSO.

Deputies said approximately 400 to 500 people gathered at the Astro Skate parking lot. They issued warnings and told people to leave.

One group left the parking lot and attacked a juvenile inside the Time Out Barber Shop. The victim was beaten and thrown through a glass window, according to deputies. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries and had a severe cut on the hand, according to deputies.

Another group went into a convenience store, damaged wine bottles worth $500, and stole an unknown amount of merchandise. Officials said the crowd was involved in fighting, damaging businesses, stealing, and disrupting normal business operations.

Missouri Man Allegedly Helped in Suicide Attempt: Prosecutor

Prosecutors charged Christopher R. Crownover of Randolph, Missouri, with attempted voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action for allegedly helping in a suicide attempt.

A Randolph, Missouri, man is facing a charge of attempted voluntary manslaughter after he allegedly assisted in a suicide attempt, prosecutors said in a news release.

Clay County Prosecutor Zach Thompson also charged Christopher Ryan Crownover on Friday with one count of armed criminal action.

Prosecutors allege that Crownover “knowingly assisted” in an attempted suicide by instructing the victim to kill herself, selecting the knife and filming her as she stabbed herself.

Clay County Sheriff deputies responded about 11:45 p.m. Thursday to a home in Randolph, a small town in Clay County near Interstate 435 and the Missouri River, according to redacted copy of the affidavit, which describes why someone is charged with a crime. There, deputies found a person lying on the ground with a knife impaled on the left side of her body.

Crownover allegedly told deputies he had video of the person stabbing herself on his cellphone. Crownover allegedly said, “I was going to kill her if she didn’t kill herself,” and that he was the one who got the knife for her. Because the affidavit was redacted, it was unclear to whom he made the comments.

Mortgage Brokers Leak Sensitive Data to Facebook

Another big source of Facebook’s “bread and butter” — namely, people’s personal data — has been highlighted in a new investigative report, which identified that source as the online mortgage brokers industry.

These are companies that act as intermediaries between borrowers and lenders, and when people either apply for a loan or seek refinancing, they give up highly sensitive information, trusting that it will be used by those firms alone.

But The Markup reveals that this data, in an alarming number of cases (over 200 out of about 700 tested broker websites), gets “shared” with Facebook.

Oakland Locals Blame Homeless Encampment for City Removing Traffic Lights to Stop Copper Thieves

A California city removed the traffic lights from a four-way intersection as the city grapples with thefts attributed to a massive homeless encampment nearby.

Oakland has been experiencing high crime and theft, including people stealing copper wires and the city’s infrastructure, according to locals who spoke to CBS News. The city attempted to thwart criminals tampering with its electrical boxes by placing cement barriers over them — to no avail. Now, the city has taken to removing the traffic lights at a busy intersection and replacing them with stop signs.

“It’s just telling us that the city is giving up on us,” said Tam Le, owner of Le’s Auto Body & Engine Repair, nearby the intersection, told CBS News. “If you really want to fix the stop sign, I think you really have to clean up this homeless encampment.”

Pro-Palestinian Protesters at Drexel Ignore Call to Disband as Arrests Nationwide Surpass 3,000

Pro-Palestinian protesters ignored a request by Drexel University’s president to disband their encampment on Monday as arrests linked to campus demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas war surpassed the 3,000 mark nationwide.

Drexel’s Philadelphia campus remained on lockdown, with classes being held virtually as police kept watch over the demonstration on the school’s Korman Quad. Many Drexel employees were told to work from home.

In a statement issued a day earlier, Drexel President John Fry said as many as 60 protesters were at the encampment, lambasting it as “intolerably disruptive to normal university operations.” He said there were “serious concerns about the conduct of some participants, including distressing reports and images of protestors subjecting passersby to antisemitic speech, signs and chants.” Fry threatened disciplinary action against Drexel students participating in the protest.

RFK Jr. Says He Would Give Black Farmers $5B in Reparations — Despite Ruling That it’s Unconstitutional

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has said he will support giving black farmers $5 billion in reparations once in office — throwing his weight behind a provision in President Biden’s American Rescue Plan that was struck down by a court as unconstitutional.

“When I’m in the White House… I’m going to get rid of those people in USDA and get that money,” Kennedy told John Boyd Jr., the founder of the National Black Farmers Association, in a recent episode of his podcast.

“That $5 billion is not money, that is an entitlement,” the 70-year-old added. “It’s money that was a loan that black farmers were entitled to way back when and was stolen from them through discrimination.”

Trump Says Judge Merchan Has Way to Gain Back ‘Respect’ Despite Presiding Over ‘Witch Hunt’ Trial

NY v. Trump had a whirlwind day in court, including Michael Cohen admitting he stole thousands from Trump Org

Former President Donald Trump said the judge presiding over the NY v. Trump trial, Juan Merchan, can earn back “respect” if he rules to dismiss the case.

“This case should be dropped by the judge. I think the judge, if he did, that … could gain the respect back. The appellate court has to step in, something has to happen. Think of it, the Republican Party, one of the two great parties, nominates somebody to be their candidate. And that candidate now has been sitting here for almost five weeks in a freezing cold icebox listening to this stuff,” Trump said Monday following a whirlwind day in court.

“I think the case is going very well. We’ve asked for termination of the case. This case should be terminated. This shouldn’t go anywhere. It should be terminated right now. And New York State has to build up its system again. New York State can’t let this happen. We can’t let this happen. There were no crimes. We did nothing wrong. And I want to get back to campaigning. I’m representing millions and millions, hundreds of millions of people,” Trump later added.

Waco Police: 14-Year-Old Boy Stabs 9-Year-Old, 10-Year-Old Boys

Waco police say a 14-year-old boy stabbed two younger boys — one 9, the other 10 — on Sunday night, but the victims should be OK.

That’s according to KWTX News, which cited Waco police in reporting that the 14-year-old stabbed the other boys — both of whom he knew — around the corner from Dollar General, 4012 Bosque Blvd.

After getting stabbed, the 9-year-old ran about a half-mile to the store to ask for help, according to KWTX. Police were called out to the scene at around 8:18 p.m.

The 10-year-old was later found nearby, and both victims were taken to the hospital to treat the non-fatal stab wounds. The 14-year-old has been taken to a local juvenile detention center.

Jewish Community Rallies Around Young Student Too Unsafe to Walk to School

The safety of a young Jewish student was at risk walking to school, prompting the community to gather around him and act as protection.

Calls for a community support walk were posted Friday morning, about an hour before a student was set to walk to school.

The young Jewish elementary school student was repeatedly attacked by his schoolmates. He allegedly received death threats that included threats “to do to him what Hamas did to Israel.” The boy had experienced having rocks thrown at him on his way to school, according to the post calling for the community’s help.

“Our community must act… If the school can’t keep our kids safe, we will,” read the post.

The post to X confirmed that the young boy’s parents had asked for help.

The walk was set to take place about an hour after the post was published. Despite this, approximately 150 people showed up to walk the student to school and act as protection.

“Simply being a Jewish child is now a safety risk in Canada,” read the post.

‘Day of Shame’ as Inquiry Slams ‘Successive Governments’ for UK Infected Blood Scandal

The UK prime minister issued an apology in the House of Commons, promising to compensate victims for the government’s failings.

An inquiry report into the UK’s infected blood scandal in the 1970s and 1980s documented a series of failures by “successive governments” and medical professionals in the UK.

Roughly 3,000 people are believed to have died as a result of being infected with HIV and hepatitis from blood transfusions during what’s seen as the deadliest scandal to afflict the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) since its inception in 1948.

“It will be astonishing to anyone who reads this Report that these events could have happened in the UK,” reads the inquiry report’s introductory summary.

EU Leaders Offer Iran “Sincere Condolences” and “Solidarity” Following Death of ‘Butcher of Tehran’

Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran, has died in a helicopter crash, according to state media. Brussels officials have described the crash as “tragic” and have offered their “sincere condolences” and even “solidarity” to the Islamic Republic of Iran, despite Raisi’s role in sentencing thousands of political prisoners to death in the 1980s, which earned him the moniker ‘Butcher of Tehran’.

Raisi was a longstanding close ally of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. As president of the country since 2021, he supported Houthi attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea; backed Iraqi militias attacking and killing American soldiers; and helped Hamas fight its genocidal war against Israel—to list just a few egregious examples.

At home, Raisi oversaw an increased enforcement of the ‘hijab and chastity law,’ under which women face 10 years in jail for “inappropriate” dress. The United Nations recently found that his administration was responsible for the “physical violence” that led to the 2022 death in custody of Mahsa Amini, who had been arrested for allegedly breaking this law. His officials then responded brutally to the nationwide protests her death prompted.

Italy: Two Lega Activists Hospitalised After Brutal Attack

A vicious assault on two supporters of the Italian right-wing Lega party over the weekend has been roundly condemned by conservative Italian MPs.

The father and son activists, aged 60 and 15 years respectively, had been handing out leaflets on behalf of Lega’s Andrea Tragaioli, mayor of Rivoli, a commune in the municipality of Turin, on Sunday morning. After being surrounded by a group of seven people, the Lega supporters were attacked and beaten with bats.

Both suffered injuries to their backs and faces, with the 15-year-old, who also suffered an eye injury, being sent for a CT scan at a nearby hospital due to head trauma. The identities of the assailants are so far unknown. Both Lega supporters were kept in hospital for further observation.

Polish ‘Eastern Shield’ — Tusk’s Border Policy Was Initiated by Previous Conservative Government, Points Out Former Defense Minister

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a “great project to build a safe border”, but as leader of the Conservatives (PiS) parliamentary caucus and former defense minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, observes, that policy was already in place thanks to the last PiS government.

Tusk took to the stage in Kraków during the 80th-anniversary ceremony commemorating the Battle of Monte Cassino to announce a program to strengthen the eastern border. “We have decided to invest PLN 10 billion (€2.35 billion) in our security, and above all in a safe eastern border. We have started this work so that the Polish border will be safe in times of peace and so that it will be an impassable border for the enemy in times of war,” announced Tusk in Kraków.

The Polish prime minister has called this national defense and deterrence plan, “Eastern Shield,” adding that it would protect Poland “against attacks from the east and provide a deterrent.” The fortifications are to be built along a 400-kilometer stretch of the border with Belarus and Russia.

Seven Times ‘Yes’ for Poland — PiS Leader Announces Positive Plan for Poland in the EU

The head of the Law and Justice (PiS) party Jaroslaw Kaczynski spoke at a rally in Tomasz Mazowiecki, central Poland, in the run-up to the European elections. He chose to repeat the approach his party had successfully taken during the recent local government election campaign, which saw it come first in the regional council elections.

Kaczynski concentrated on a positive seven-point plan to build consensus about the future of Poland. He described it as “seven times yes for Poland,” chiming well with the fact that the PiS list has drawn number seven on the list of parties in the European parliamentary elections.

The first point on the list was a yes to major capital investment projects such as the central airport (CPK), the container port in Swinoujscie, making the Oder River navigable, and nuclear power, including large and small nuclear reactor construction programs.

Slovakia: Fico’s Shooter May Not Have Acted Alone

Slovakia’s interior ministry is starting to work on the assumption that the suspect in the attempted assassination of Prime Minister Robert Fico may not have acted as a “lone wolf,” as was previously believed.

Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok said on Sunday that “the crime may have been committed by a certain group of people,” rather than a lone disgruntled citizen. This view has been given credence by the fact the suspect’s online “communication history” was deleted just two hours after the attack. This deletion was not carried out by Fico’s attacker, nor by his wife, who reports say “is not technically proficient enough to be able to delete the communication.”

Officials also said on Sunday that Fico is now out of immediate danger but remains in intensive care after he was shot several times at point-blank range by 71-year-old Juraj Cintula.

UK High Court Allows Assange to Challenge US Extradition

Julian Assange, the man behind WikiLeaks, has successfully been granted permission by the UK’s High Court to contest his extradition to the United States on espionage allegations. Assange is currently under prosecution in the US, suspected of conspiring activities aimed at acquiring and sharing classified defense material involving hundreds of thousands of leaked documents dating from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, that showed alleged war crimes.

Assange was absent from the hearing in London due to health concerns.

The risk of his swift removal and actions taking place towards his extradition would have escalated significantly if his plea for an appeal had been denied. However, his defense team is firmly committed to bringing a halt to his extradition and is prepared to lobby the European Court of Human Rights for an urgent injunction to prevent it.

Tyson Fury Says Split Decision in Favor of Oleksandr Usyk Motivated by Sympathy for Ukraine

Tyson Fury, moments after losing to Oleksandr Usyk by split decision in a fight for the undisputed heavyweight title, threw one last punch.

Fury intimated that judges awarded the right to Usyk, the Ukrainian boxer, because Ukraine is at war. The country was invaded by Russia more than two years ago.

Rishi Sunak Says Britain is ‘Leading the Charge’ in Tackling Illegal Migration — as Austria Looks to Replicate Rwanda Scheme

Britain is ‘leading the charge’ in tackling illegal migration, Rishi Sunak said last night ahead of talks with his Austrian counterpart to agree closer cooperation.

They are set to agree that Rwanda-style models are part of the solution to tackling the ‘pan-European’ challenge of migration.

UK: Record Illegal Migration Shows Rwanda Plan Isn’t Working

Rishi Sunak’s ‘Rwanda plan’—meant to deter Channel crossings by sending asylum seekers to the East African nation to have their claims processed—will not work. Sunak himself has always known this, despite his persistent claim that “the plan is working.” Illegal migrants know this too, and are so undeterred that they are still crossing the English Channel into Britain, now in record numbers.

It was revealed on Friday, May 17th, that 9,681 migrants made the perilous journey in the first five months of this year. This is higher than the total for the first five months of any previous year since records began. And officials reckon the figure will top 10,000 this week.

It is no wonder that migrants continue to pay people smugglers to get them across the Channel; they know that once inside, the chance of them being deported to Rwanda is not just slim but almost non-existent. In turn, it is clear that the smugglers are the main customers for a thriving market in custom-made ‘small boats,’ commissioned to make a single trip across the English Channel. Everyone involved in the process exudes confidence — except for the UK electorate.

Pope Francis Backtracks on Blessings for Same-Sex Couples

ROME — Pope Francis has added to the confusion regarding the blessing of same-sex couples, now insisting that only the individuals may be blessed and not the couple.

In a conversation with CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell that aired on 60 Minutes on Sunday, the pontiff seemed to reverse a Vatican text from last December that explicitly allowed for the blessing of same-sex couples.

“Last year you decided to allow Catholic priests to bless same-sex couples,” O’Donnell said to the pope. “That’s a big change. Why?”

“No, what I allowed was not to bless the union,” Francis replied. “That cannot be done because that is not the sacrament. I cannot. The Lord made it that way.”

“But to bless each person, yes. The blessing is for everyone. For everyone. To bless a homosexual-type union, however, goes against the given right, against the law of the Church. But to bless each person, why not? The blessing is for all.”

But if you are interested, I can provide links in Russian.

  2. I’m sorry that RFK Jr has shown himself to be a grifter and race baiter. His views on the false vaccines and “Dr” Fauci are sound. Everyone lets you down eventually.

We are not used to thinking of our leaders and authorities as corrupt, we may even have a psychological aversion to it, but look at these English examples, which we must assume are partly comparable to Danish conditions. There is no one that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has not poured millions of pounds into.

    Edward Dowd: The Pandemic Scorecard
“My estimate is that 8-17 million have died and 60 million have been injured/disabled worldwide. In the USA alone, 33 million are either sick, disabled or dead.”

In a brand new interview, Dowd brings us up to date with what’s been happening lately. He calls the behavior of those responsible “attitude step dancing” as more and more truths leak out. “Trust in politicians, institutions and authorities will plummet, and perhaps that is even the intention of the globalists.”

Canadian Kayla Pollock ended up in a wheelchair after vaccine injury. I had her story on March 28:Covid-vaccinated Kayla Pollock suffered a spinal cord injury. Here she is with Jim Ferguson, who is convinced that those responsible will pay for their misdeeds.

The virologist Geert vanden Bossche is also completely sure that they will not get away with it unpunished. After all, he has a theory that the next virus will come within a few months, and will hit all vaccinated particularly hard, as their immune system cannot defend them against death and disease. He says that politicians must prescribe Ivermectin and other antivirals to avoid mass death, and that this must be consumed immediately when the virus debuts, whether it is on the other side of the world. One must not hope that he will be right, but we will know soon, and he has staked all his honor on it.
