Czechia: Prices for New Apartments in Prague Reach Highest Point in History

Demand for new apartments in Prague is on the rise, with prices for new buildings now reaching a record-high, according to new figures. In the second quarter of this year, the average offering price of new apartments in the Czech capital exceeded CZK 156,000 per square meter. Analysts believe this trend will only continue for the rest of this year.

Demand soars, as do prices

According to a recent analysis from development companies Central Group, Trigema, and Skanska Residential, rising interest in new apartments is attributed to falling mortgage interest rates and the returning deferred demand from the previous two years.

Real Wages in Czechia Have Slumped in the Last Five Years

Czech salary growth is in a dire state, with real wages worth much less today than they were five years ago — despite sizable growth in nominal terms. Based on data from the national Information System on Average Earnings (ISPV), some professions have seen technical pay cuts of up to 30 percent since 2019, mainly owing to Czechia’s high inflation rate.

Worse off, despite higher pay

Using the ISPV figures, Czech media outlet Seznam Zpravy found that inflation, on aggregate, has increased in Czechia by around 38 percent since 2019. Consequently, a large chunk of employees have lost money in real terms. As a result, protests and demands for significant pay increases have erupted across various professions, including police officers, court workers, doctors, teachers, and academics.

“We Don’t Discriminate.” Rumble Shows Economic Pressures and Indirect Censorship Control Advertisers Have on Social Media Platforms

On Tuesday, Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X Corp announced in a video post that the company had initiated a lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), its parent entity the World Federation Advertisers, and several key members including Mars, CVS Health, Unilever, and Orsted. The litigation, which also involves Rumble—a video-sharing site often praised by influencers as a bastion of free speech—accuses these entities of engaging in a boycott of certain platforms, thereby limiting consumer choice and stifling free expression.

Allegations of the advertising cartel acting as a monopoly are at the heart of the lawsuit and Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski this week shared more insight into the issue of advertisers boycotting select video platforms.

Pavlovski posted an email from a representative of Diageo, explicitly saying that they won’t advertise on a platform that hosts Alex Jones and Stephen Crowder, two prominent political and cultural commentators.

Breaking: Trump Reminds Voters Kamala Was the First One Out in 2020 Primaries, ‘She Never Made it to Iowa’

Donald Trump held a presser on Thursday at Mar-a-Lago and slammed Vice President Kamala Harris’ record with voters. He reminded voters that she did not make it to Iowa in the 2020 Democrat primaries when she was attempting to secure the nomination for president on her own merits.

“She had no votes, no support, and she was a bad debater, by the way, very bad debater. And that’s not the thing I’m looking forward to, but she was a bad debater. She did obviously a bad job. She never made it to Iowa.”

The footage comes amid increased tension with the Secret Service for allowing an assassination attempt to take place.

Chicago Allows Anti-Israel Protest at DNC, as Israeli American Council Awaits Approval for Counter-Demonstration

An anti-Israel protest got the OK to go ahead during the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago — as a pro-Israeli group remains in limbo for approval to stage its own demonstration, according to a new report.

The Israeli American Council (IAC), a nonprofit organization that advocates for Israeli-Americans, has yet to hear back on whether it will be allowed to protest at the DNC, which starts in less than two weeks, the Jewish Insider reported.

Anti-Israel groups, meanwhile, have already gotten permission for a “March on the DNC” near Chicago’s United Center after the groups sought a First Amendment lawsuit against the city for attempting to restrict the demonstration.

Exclusive: Senator Bill Hagerty Speaks Out on Kamala: She’s Weak on Terrorism, Aims to Punish Crypto Investors

In an interview with The Post Millennial in Nashville, TN, Senator Bill Hagerty said he was “shocked and dismayed” at Kamala Harris’s unwillingness to call out “terrorism and terrorist supporters.” The Senator condemned the Biden administration’s position toward Iran. Hagerty claims the administration has shied away from assigning responsibility to Iran for destabilizing the Middle East and funding terrorism. “The administration is far more concerned with the domestic politics of states like Michigan and Minnesota than with the national security of our ally, Israel.”

Hagerty claims that the Kamala’s actions have brought Iran closer to developing a nuclear weapon. This development was subsequent to the Biden-Harris administration lifting sanctions that were imposed on Iran by the Trump administration. Hagerty was proud of his role in imposing the “maximum pressure sanctions” on Iran, saying, “My job was getting the Japanese government to stop buying Iranian crude oil, and they did.”

Exclusive: Sex Offender Indicted on Child Pornography After Dems Release Him From Washington ‘Pedo Island’ Facility

A former inmate at a secure prison island in Washington for sex offenders has been indicted for receipt and possession of images of child sexual abuse. This after Democrats passed a law making it easier for offenders to be released from McNeil Island, a facility made for violent sexual offenders.

71-year-old Alan Lewis Meirhofer was indicted this week by a federal grand jury for receipt and possession of images of child sexual abuse. According to US Attorney Tessa M. Gorman, Meirhofer was originally charged in state court after a teen boy saw images of child sexual abuse on a phone he borrowed from the defendant. The teen gave the phone to his mother, who called law enforcement. Meirhofer was later arrested in March 2021 and his devices were seized.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force interviewed Merchant, fingerprinted him and inspected the contents of his electronic devices when he arrived at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, in Houston, but then let him leave with the special parole that expired on May 11, the memos state.

Georgia Election Board Seeks New Investigation Into Fulton County’s Handling of 2020 Election

Georgia State election board on Wednesday night voted to request that state Attorney General Chris Carr reopen an investigation into Fulton County’s counting of the results of the 2020 election.

The request comes after the board closed the matter in May, but voted to install an independent election monitor for the 2024 election, after an independent investigation found that the county likely scanned thousands of ballots twice in a recount of the 2020 election.

The election board approved the new resolution in a 3-2 vote, but Carr has not received the resolution yet. The resolution states that if Carr does not conduct an investigation, the board will try to find an outside lawyer to conduct the inquiry.

High School Football Player Dies After Collapsing at Practice: ‘One of the Most Genuine and Remarkable Students’

A Virginia high school football player has died after suffering a heart attack on the practice field Monday — and his teammates are now paying tribute to the “positive” and “remarkable” athlete.

Sophomore Jayvion Taylor, 15, was about 40 minutes into the practice — and in the middle of light drills — when the young student-athlete took a water break, then dropped to the ground just 10 feet from a coach, a Hopewell High School spokesperson told CBS 6 Richmond.

A pair of coaches performed CPR and called 911, the statement said. Paramedics arrived quickly, and brought Taylor to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

How the Biden Campaign Redefined Misinformation to Control the Online Narrative

Evidence keeps piling up that the use of the terms “misinformation” and “disinformation” has become the ultimate tactic to manipulate and censor people and content, invalidate legitimate arguments, and control the narratives.

Matt Orfalea writes about the case of Joe Biden, and the effort his team put into trying to convince voters that any (as it turned out, completely legitimate) talk about the president’s mental decline was “disinformation.”

A Zoom call between three members of that team has now surfaced, dating to the 2020 campaign, when questions were already being asked about the state of health of then-candidate Biden.

And according to them — the manipulative methods that they discuss, designed to dispel those concerns — supposedly resulted in Biden receiving 200,000 more votes than he would have.

Hunter Biden Was Paid Millions to ‘Influence U.S Government Agencies’, Special Counsel Reveals

Special Counsel David Weiss has revealed in a court filing that lame-duck President Joe Biden’s son Hunter was paid millions of dollars to “influence U.S. government agencies” on behalf of foreign nationals.

Hunter Biden accepted $3,101,258 from Romanian oligarch Gabriel Popoviciu while his father served as Barack Obama’s vice president.

However, Weiss stopped short of accusing Hunter of having “improperly coordinated with the Obama administration.”

Nevertheless, Weiss, who was tasked to investigate the president’s son by Biden’s Justice Department, failed to indict Hunter on Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) violations in 2023.

Jack Smith Seeks Delay on Deadlines for Trump’s Jan 6 Case

Special counsel Jack Smith on Thursday requested more time to consider how former President Donald Trump’s January 6 case can move forward, after the Supreme Court gave Trump a major victory last month.

The Supreme Court ruled that presidents and former presidents are exempt from prosecution when it comes to core presidential actions, and presumptive immunity for other official acts. But the Supreme Court sent the January 6 case back to the lower courts to determine what actions constitute “official” acts.

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan has ordered both sides of the January 6 case to jointly propose how to move forward in the case.

Kamala’s Press Corps Gets Private Briefings So They Don’t Complain About Lack of Access: Report

Kamala Harris, the current vice president, has been the Democrat candidate for president for 18 days, and in those 18 days, she has not publicly taken questions from reporters, nor sat for interviews. Politico’s Playbook revealed on Wednesday that Harris has “routinely interacted with the reporters who travel with her,” though speaking only off the record.

Playbook noted that Harris “often visits with the press pool seated at the back of her plane,” but speaks to them “only off the record.” When she does choose to comment on the record about something, she addresses the pool on the tarmac, but does not answer questions, they said.

Odysee, the blockchain-based video-sharing service, has announced that it will remove all advertisements from its platform effective immediately.

Parody Website Clownstrike Rejects CrowdStrike’s Baseless DMCA Takedown Notice

CrowdStrike — a company that advertises itself as stopping breaches using “AI-native cybersecurity” — recently failed to deliver in a spectacular fashion.

One of its faulty updates (for Windows) caused a massive global outage across different industries and services, including hospitals and airports.

This latest poster child for “single point of failure,” and why IT systems should not be centralized to the degree they are, now apparently sees making false copyright claims, thus abusing the DMCA, as one way of damage control.

The recipient of the takedown attempt is a parody site, ClownStrike. Created by IT consultant David Senk, clownstrike.lol went online on July 24, in the wake of the embarrassing and costly (damages are said to run into billions) episode caused by CrowdStrike.

Texas Man Set Off Explosions by Booby-Trapping Bathrooms in Businesses, Police Say

A Texas man is accused of booby-trapping toilets in the bathrooms of two car washes with “pressure-activated” fireworks.

Paul Moses Alden, 46, was arrested Aug. 1 on a charge of “arson causing reckless damage — bodily injury,” the San Antonio Police Department said. He was released from jail the same day on $50,000 bond.

Alden allegedly placed fireworks under restroom toilet seats, which caused injuries when a person sat down, police said.

A police affidavit cited by KENS 5 said multiple people were hurt when the fireworks detonated.

The first incident was reported July 20 at The Wash Tub, a car wash in Helotes, Texas. A man was seen on surveillance video entering a unisex bathroom before a small explosion occurred. A woman was injured, authorities said.

Six days later, a girl and an employee at a Wash Tub in San Antonio were injured from exploding devices attached to a toilet seat. Remnants from the fireworks were found in the bathroom, police said.

In each case, authorities say, Alden was captured on security cameras entering and leaving the bathroom, sitting in the lobby watching the bathroom door and then leaving the area after the explosions. Employees said they were able to identify him because he is a regular at the car wash who used his membership card.

Tim Walz’s 30-Year Relationship With China

With the United States and China engaged in a heated trade war, the US-China Peoples Friendship Association (USCPFA) scheduled its national convention in Minneapolis.

Minnesota’s soybean trade made it China’s best leverage against President Trump’s tariffs and the regime was fortunate to have one of its own in the governor’s residency.

Gov. Tim Walz was the highest ranking elected official with the broadest ties to China. And so it surprised no one when the US-China Peoples Friendship Association listed him as one of its speakers at the convention alongside notable Communist influence operation figures.

Earlier that year, Walz had gone on a foreign trip to Asia along with his Lt. Gov: leaving no one in charge of Minnesota. While the trip was ostensibly undertaken to find alternative trading partners to China, it was actually a propaganda move to stir up opposition to Trump’s trade war.

In September 2019, Gov. Walz returned claiming that the state’s farmers ‘remain in desperate need of a U.S. trade deal with China.’

“There’s just no substitute for 1.6 billion consumers who are hungry to get our China trade negotiations normalized,” he claimed.

And next month in October, it was time for the USCPFA convention. While the USCPFA represents itself as an alliance of ordinary citizens seeking better relations, it had started out as a Communist front group. Revolution magazine wrote that “Communists, members of the Revolutionary Union (and later the Revolutionary Communist Party) were instrumental in the formation of the earliest local Friendship Associations in 1971 and played a significant role in the creation of the national association and in the building of locals across the country.”

In his book ‘Red Destinies’, historian Colin B. Burke wrote that the USCPFA “like the Party’s front organizations of the 1930s and 1940s it was advertised as a liberal, non-political organization supporting peace and cultural understanding. But in 1971, the founders had other missions: Advance the interests of Communist China and world communism.”

Tim Walz Dubbed ‘Enemy’ of Italian Americans Over Rioters Tearing Down Columbus Statue

An Italian American civil rights group lashed out at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, dubbing him an “enemy” of the community and imploring him to drop out of the race, according to its board member.

The Italian American Civil Rights League (IACRL), which was founded in New York City and endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 election, blasted Walz over his approach to rioters who tore down a statue of Christopher Columbus.

“Tim Walz did nothing to stop radical vandals from targeting the most prominent symbol of Italian-American culture in a flagrant hate crime,” IACRL board member Mike Crispi said in a statement.

“He knew they were coming and he did nothing to protect the statue,” Crispi added.

Tim Walz Claimed He Served in Afghanistan — He Didn’t: Iraq Vet

Kamala Harris’ VP pick, candidate Tim Walz, has previously described himself as “a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom,” which is the official name for the US government for the war in Afghanistan after the Sept. 11 attacks, per the Washington Free Beacon. This is despite him never serving in Afghanistan. The office never got back to an Iraq veteran who called him out on it.

Walz was called out for using the label in 2009 by Iraq war veteran David Thul, who was also a sergeant in the Minnesota National Guard. Thul filmed the encounter with staff at Walz’s office in Mankato, Minnesota: “Operation Enduring Freedom is limited to Afghanistan and the airspace directly above,” Thul told the aide. “Congressman Walz is clearly claiming … to be an Enduring Freedom veteran.”

Trump: Harris ‘Doesn’t Do Interviews Because She Can’t Answer Questions’

President Donald Trump has noted that there’s a very good reason that Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s handlers are keeping her hidden from the press.

Trump noted that Harris “doesn’t do interviews because she can’t answer questions.”

The 45th president made the remarks during a Fox News interview on Wednesday.

It comes as Harris has avoided questions in the weeks following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he is not running for re-election.

Trump Says Biden Had the ‘Right to Run,’ But Dem Party ‘Took it Away’

Former President Trump said President Biden had “the right to run” for re-election and the Democratic Party “took it away” from him, while blasting his new opponent Kamala Harris as the “least admired, least respected, and worst vice president in the history of our country.”

Trump held a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday afternoon after holding off-the-record meetings with major media outlets. The Trump campaign said the Republican presidential nominee wanted to address the media “while they were already in Palm Beach because he’s the most transparent candidate in history.”

Trump said Thursday that the U.S. is in “the most dangerous period of time I’ve ever seen for our country.”

Walz’s 2020 COVID Snitch Hotline Sparks Debate Amid VP Bid

In 2020, as the reaction to the Covid pandemic tightened its global grip, the administration of Minnesota’s Democratic Governor, Tim Walz, controversially initiated a hotline encouraging citizens to report non-compliant neighbors, opening a Pandora’s box of surveillance reminiscent of dystopian literature.

This move has once again sparked discussion about Walz, following his newly-minted status as the running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris in the imminent 2024 presidential election.

Serving a dual purpose, the hotline — referred to by critics as the Covid snitch line — enabled thousands of Minnesotans to both voice their concerns about perceived health risks and expose those allegedly flouting the restrictive coronavirus-sensitive rules revolving around gatherings and social activities.

‘Who’s Got Eyes on Him?’: Body Camera Video Shows Moment Officer Spotted Gunman at Trump Rally

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 has obtained body camera footage from Butler Township police showing the moments before and after Thomas Crooks opened fire at a rally for former President Donald Trump.

The new video shows the moment an officer arrives at the scene and asks to be lifted up onto the roof where Crooks had planted himself and his belongings.

The officer can be seen holding his hand out to be hoisted onto the roof. Though no sound could be heard in the video, the officer exchanges some words with a Butler Township officer who helps him onto the roof.

Sound could not be heard on some of the video due to the way it was recorded, according to police.

The officer later drops down from the roof and then begins running towards other law enforcement.

When the audio begins to play, the officer is grabbing his gun and telling others where Crooks is. The timecode for the body camera footage is marked as 18:12:37, or 6:12 p.m.

X and Rumble’s Lawsuit Topples Alleged Censorship Cartel

The Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) has announced it will cease operations. This decision followed a lawsuit filed by Elon Musk’s social media company, X, and video-sharing platform Rumble.

GARM, a nonprofit led by the World Federation of Advertisers, faced accusations of orchestrating a boycott against X, leading to their inability to sustain operations financially while engaged in legal battles.

GARM has faced serious accusations from various stakeholders in the digital content and advertising sectors. Allegations against GARM suggest that it operated like an advertising cartel, effectively controlling which creators and news outlets could secure advertising revenue, leading to widespread demonetization.

Austria: Islamist Teenagers Planned Bloodbath at Taylor Swift Concert

A 19-year-old man arrested in Vienna on Wednesday had been planning a suicide attack at a Taylor Swift concert in the Austrian capital, local intelligence services announced on Thursday, August 8th.

“He said he intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives. His aim was to kill himself and a large number of people during the concert, either today or tomorrow,” the head of the domestic intelligence agency, Omar Haijawi-Pirchner told a news conference. He was referring to three concerts by the U.S. pop singer that were supposed to take place at the Ernst Happel Stadium on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but were cancelled due to the terror threat.

About 65,000 spectators were expected at each show, and as many as 30,000 onlookers outside.

Authorities arrested the 19-year-old, an Austrian with North Macedonian roots, in the town of Ternitz, an hour’s drive from Vienna. His accomplice, a 17-year-old with Turkish-Croatian roots, was detained in Vienna. The former had pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State terror organisation in recent weeks and began working on his attack plans in July. He is said to have quit his job some time ago.

Canadian North Korea Expert Reportedly Detained in Switzerland on Espionage Charges

The reports were part of a joint investigation by the German news outlet Der Spiegel, the Swiss media company Tamedia and North Korea-focused website NK News.

The Swiss attorney general’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the case.

The suspect regularly travelled to China for his work as an environmental consultant before being arrested earlier in the spring on espionage charges, said NK News, an online outlet that has staff in the US, Europe and South Korea.

It said it did not publish the official’s full name as he has not been convicted and authorities have not made public charges against him.

The person, in his 50s and a resident of Geneva, was in pretrial detainment for several months pending the conclusion of an investigation by the Swiss attorney general’s office, the NK Newsreport said.

He is referring to the approval of the EU’s recent migration pact.

On June 7th, the assailant by chance encountered Frederiksen at Kultorvet, a public square lined by cafes and restaurants in the center of Copenhagen’s pedestrian area. He approached and punched the PM with a closed fist on her right upper arm, which pushed her aside and made her lose her balance. The assailant was drunk at the time and, according to witnesses, said something angry and incomprehensible to Frederiksen.

London ‘Peace’ Rally Marred by ‘Cut All Their Throats’ Rhetoric, Labour Politician Suspended

British legacy media came together to celebrate an evening of left-wing activists turning out across the country to confront a “far-right” that didn’t seem to meaningfully exist, but one of the largest rallies, billed as “preaching a message of peace”, saw one of its speakers shout a call to kill.

An activist said to have been identified as Labour Party politician Councillor Ricky Jones has been suspended by the party after apparently calling for political opponents to have their throat cuts at a left-wing rally in London on Wednesday night. The development has somewhat dented the establishment media narrative that the evening had seen a flowering of brotherly and open-minded feeling across England, in defiance of days of riots.

Netherlands: More Young People in Social Isolation

More and more young people in the Netherlands are ending up in social isolation, sometimes not leaving their rooms for years on end, Nieuwsuur reports. The program spoke to 15 therapists from mental health institutions throughout the country, and 12 reported an increase. They suspect growing pressure to perform, social media, and the impact of social distancing during the pandemic play a role in the increase.

This phenomenon is not unique to the Netherlands. In Japan, the problem of young people isolating themselves has become so great that there is a word for it — hikikomori, which means to “pull in” or “lock oneself away.” In Japan, an estimated 500,000 young people are severely isolated.

Quran Burner Charged With Hate Crime in Swedish Court

Rasmus Paludan, the dual Danish-Swedish citizen who has protested Islamism by burning the Muslim holy book the Quran in several European countries, will be charged with “incitement against an ethnic group” in Sweden. Charges were filed Wednesday in Malmö district court for statements made by Pauldan in connection with a 2022 Quran burning outside Malmö.

One of the statements seen by the prosecutor as a violation of Swedish law was:

Freedom of speech means that you are allowed to say things that others in the country do not like to hear. And you can say it without others assaulting or trying to kill you.

The prosecutor’s interpretation of this is “that Muslims don’t like Western democracy and freedom of speech”—which is then in turn deemed to be offensive to the group (that is not explicitly mentioned by Paludan).

A second statement considered in violation of the law is that there could “be a problem” if someone “likes, for example, to use violence as a means of communication” because “it is only God’s word that counts.” This statement, too, was interpreted as denigrating to Muslims.

Israeli Group Practices Red Heifer Ritual in Front of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Via Middle East Eye

A group of religious Israelis have been pictured practicing the ritual of the red heifer, which is meant to herald the building of a new Jewish temple on the site of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to Jewish tradition, the ashes of a perfectly red heifer cow are needed for the ritual purification that would allow a third temple to be built in Jerusalem. That temple, say radical Jewish groups, must be constructed on the raised plateau in Jerusalem’s Old City known as the Temple Mount, where Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock shrine stand today.

Some believe this will herald the arrival of the messiah and possibly even the end of the world.

Israel Attacks Airbase in Central Syria Known to House Russian Troops

Following late night explosions being reported in the central Syrian region of Homs, state media SANA has subsequently confirmed that an Israeli airstrike has wounded at least four soldiers and caused “material losses” at the Shayrat Airbase.

The Israeli attack came from the direction of northern Lebanon. It has become common for Israeli jets to use undefended Lebanese airspace from which to attack targets inside Syria. Images showing a series of large explosions have circulated on social media.

Shayrat Airbase has long been well-known also as a base of Russian troop operations over several years. It remains unknown if Russians were present at the base when it was struck late Thursday night. Some Israeli sources have said ammo storage depots were hit, or else ‘Iranian assets’ were targeted — as is the usual refrain after such operations.

‘Nobody Cared About Us’: Russians Condemn Moscow as Ukrainians Counter-Invade

Russians living in the border region of Kursk are criticizing the slow and confused response by civic and military officials to the Ukrainian military incursion that began Tuesday.

“Nobody cared about us,” said an angry Kursk resident quoted by the Moscow Times on Thursday. “The refugees from ‘that country’ were given everything at once … and [local] people left for nowhere and with nothing.”

This was essentially a complaint about ethnic Russians fleeing into Russia from the ersatz “republics” of Donetsk and Luhansk, unilaterally declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin when he invaded Ukraine in February 2022, receiving far more care and assistance than Russians who suddenly find themselves on the receiving end of Ukrainian artillery.

Russia’s Biometric Boom Faces Rising Data Security Fears

The Russian government is intensifying its drive to expand the use of biometric technologies across the nation. This push comes amid growing fears over personal data security, highlighted by a surge in data breaches in recent years. In 2023 alone, RBC, a Russian research agency, reported that data breaches at Russian financial institutions escalated 3.2 times compared to 2022, with about 170 million personal records compromised.

Despite these security challenges, the Russian state has placed a significant focus on biometrics. In 2018, authorities established the Unified Biometric System (UBS), a pivotal element in Russia’s digital infrastructure which was later designated as a state information system. Maksut Shadayev, Russia’s minister of digital development, noted that biometric data submissions have been noteworthy, with figures continuously climbing. As of now, approximately 18 million Russians have comprehensive biometric profiles, with 70 million having submitted some form of biometric data to various state or private institutions, according to Riddle Russia.

Russia Says Troops Are Battling to Push Ukrainian Forces Back After Cross-Border Incursion in Kursk

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian troops are battling to push back Ukrainian forces from the Kursk region on the third day of one of the largest cross-border incursions of the war, the Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday.

A ministry statement said the Russian military and border guards have blocked Ukrainian forces from pushing deeper into the region in southwestern Russia. It added that the army is attacking Ukrainian fighters trying to advance into the area from Ukraine’s Sumy region.

“Attempts by individual units to break through deep into the territory in the Kursk direction are being suppressed,” the ministry said.

Ukrainian troops had advanced as much as 15 kilometers (9 miles) into Russian territory, according to the Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank. The data that hasn’t been officially confirmed.

Ukraine Penetration of Russian Federation Sparks Europe Energy Fears

A Ukraine invasion of internationally recognised Russian territory has sparked energy concerns.

Officials in Kyiv remain tight-lipped about the incursion into the Kursk Oblast — an undisputed part of the Russian Federation — though third-party sources say that the offensive is sizeable, and could involve over 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

Fighting in the region is said to have drawn dangerously close to a major natural gas transmission hub in Sudzha. Natural gas prices in Europe have risen as a result.

According to Reuters, this is the last operational trans-shipping point for Russian natural gas to Europe via Ukrainian territory, though representatives from Ukraine’s national gas operator insist that supplies continue to flow normally through the pipeline network as of the time of writing.

Venezuela: Maduro Orders Mass Arrests of Opposition Leaders

The regime of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro is conducting mass arrests of opposition leaders following nationwide protests over elections that campaigners believe the regime has stolen.

The situation across the country is continuing to deteriorate after the presidential election on July 28. The electoral authority, which is controlled by the government, declared Maduro the winner, but the opposition says it has proof that its candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, won by a landslide.

The electoral council has so far declined to publish a detailed breakdown of the result. The Maduro government has blamed a cyberattack for the delay.

Protesters took to the streets across the country after the result declaration, in what many saw as the biggest challenge yet to 25 years of socialist rule. The protests have, for the time being, subsided, but arrests of leading opposition figures have continued in an operation dubbed “Tun Tun,” or “Knock Knock.”

Germany Considers Reintroducing Permanent Border Checks

Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s German Government is under increased pressure from both within and outside his ruling coalition to reintroduce nearly all the hard borders around Europe’s largest country. A growing number of lawmakers see it as the only way to curb the inflow of illegal migrants—reinforcing fears that the EU’s failure to prevent illegal crossings at the bloc’s external borders will eventually result in the death of Europe’s precious Schengen area.

Germany, along with a few other North Western European countries, is the primary destination of illegal migrants coming to the EU from North Africa and the Middle East. Illegal entries into the country reached a seven-year high in 2023, leading to temporary border checks with Austria, Poland, Czechia, and Switzerland being reintroduced last fall.

That was not enough, it seems. The opposition Christian democratic CDU recently called for permanent hard borders to be reinstated around Germany. According to party leader Friedrich Merz, it is one of the measures “that do not cost money, but could very quickly change the mood in the country for the better.”

Germany Considers Reform to Publishing Nationalities of Criminals Amid Spike in Migrant Crime

Germany’s liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), the smallest party in the governing coalition, is proposing that law enforcement authorities should be obliged to disclose the nationality of suspected criminals throughout the country.

The initiative has been endorsed by the opposition CDU/CSU, while the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD), although supportive of it in theory, believes it does not go far enough.

Oh No! Anyway… Ex-Scottish Leader Humza Yousaf Threatens to Leave UK Over Migration Riots

Failed left-wing politician and former Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf has said that he is considering leaving the United Kingdom with his family as a result of the anti-mass migration riots that have erupted over the past week in Britain.

Humza Yousaf, a member of the far-left Scottish National Party (SNP) and who served as Scotland’s first minister, said that he has questioned if his family can have “an existence” in the UK. Unrest and violence broke out last week in response to the mass stabbing at a children’s ‘Taylor Swift’ dance party last week in Southport, which left three young girls dead and several others seriously injured.

Despite no riots occurring in Scotland so far, the Member of the Scottish Parliament toldThe News Agents podcast: “It is a strange feeling when your very sense of belonging is questioned.

Spanish Police Federation Calls for Urgent Action as Madrid Airport Saturated With Migrants After Spike in Mauritanian Nationals

Madrid airport is running out of space in the designated holding areas for illegal migrants due to a surge in newcomers in recent weeks, the Spanish Police Federation (CEP) has warned.

The organization cited a large number of Mauritanian nationals leaving Morocco as a challenge currently facing border staff. Apparently, many undocumented migrants are landing in Spain, throwing away their passports, and claiming asylum.

Spanish police said the situation had started to become worrying at the end of June when arrivals of Mauritanians increased by 350 percent compared to the previous month.

They added that most of the arrivals are men under the age of 30. There are also some who claim to be minors, hoping that this will speed up the processing of their asylum applications.

UK: Sir Keir Starmer is Accused of Having ‘No Plan’ for Reducing Migration After Dodging Questions About Small Boat Crisis During Visit to Birmingham

Sir Keir Starmer was yesterday accused of having ‘no plan’ for reducing migration as he dodged questions about it in the wake of the riots. The Prime Minister was asked whether now was the time to acknowledge ‘underlying tensions’ in communities over record migration levels in recent years.

But during a visit to a mosque in Solihull, Birmingham, he failed to answer the question, simply saying: ‘The first priority is safety and security of our communities.

‘I was very keen that we were able to demonstrate that if you’re involved in disorder, within days you’ll be in the criminal justice system and with some people starting long terms of imprisonment.’

Bulgarian Parliament Approves Ban on ‘LGBTQ Propaganda’ in Schools

The Bulgarian Parliament has approved a ban on “LGBTQ propaganda” in schools to tackle what it called “incitement” to “non-traditional sexual orientation” or “gender identity other than the biological one”.

On August 7, with 159 in favour, 22 against and 12 abstentions, the parliament passed changes to the education law, much to the anger of NGOs and human rights activists.

The bill was proposed by the pro-Russian Vazrazhdane party, which called the result “a historic breakthrough”.

Kostadin Kostadinov, Chairman of the party, said that it has opened an opportunity for other political organisations in the European Union to do the same.

Ottawa Pride Calls Out Islamophobia, ‘Pink-Washing’ in ‘Solidarity’ With Gaza Ahead of Parade

Ahead of Ottawa’s annual pride parade, the parade’s organizer, Capital Pride, has issued a “Statement in Solidarity with Palestine”—including accusing Israel of “ongoing genocide against Palestinians.”

This comes in the wake of numerous Canadian pride parades and festivals being disrupted, re-routed—and even ground to a halt—because of pro-Palestinian groups staging protests in the path of the celebrations. For instance, 30 protestors managed to end the Toronto Pride parade entirely by sitting in the middle of the parade route, with signs that included “Pride partners with genocide.” In Victoria, BC, Pride was re-routed when anti-Israel activists used the same tactics. And just last week, Vancouver’s parade, too, ended early because of pro-Palestinian protests. In Halifax, the disruptions ended with parade goers and protestors shoving one another.

Two Male Boxers Easily Advance to Gold Medal Matches in Women’s Events After Crushing Female Opponents

Two male boxers have easily made their way to gold medal matches in their respective weight classes at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan and Imane Khelif of Algeria are both banned by the International Boxing Association (IBA) after DNA tests proved they are men.

Nevertheless, the Olympics permitted both fighters to compete in women’s boxing on the governing body’s “transgender” policies.

However, neither Lin nor Khelif “identify” as transgender and both insist they are “women,” despite gender tests showing they have XY chromosomes, meaning they are male.

Lin and Khelif have notably dominated female opponents.

Rasmus Paludan is now charged with incitement against a group of people after two incidents in Malmö 2022

    7 AUGUST 2024
The so-called far-right politician Rasmus Paludan is charged with incitement against a group of people and insult after two incidents in Malmö two years ago.

The indictment concerns events in Malmö in April and September 2022, Malmö’s Prosecutor’s Office writes in a press release.

“My assessment is that there are sufficient reasons to bring charges and now the district court will hear the case,” says senior prosecutor Adrien Combier-Hogg in the press release.

The dispatch also states that the prosecutor will not be available to the media or make any comments about the prosecution.

    “Is about interpretation”
When SVT Nyheter Skåne reaches Rasmus Paludan, he says that he has not received any information about the prosecution. He says that he was interrogated in Denmark by both Danish and Swedish police and by Swedish prosecutors.

    – From what I understand from those interrogations, I have not said anything that is criminal, but it is about how others can interpret it. That makes it difficult for me to take a stand on what I said, he says.

    – But if you as a politician are to be prosecuted, it is better to be prosecuted for something you said than for something criminal you did.

    Want to stay in Denmark
Rasmus Paludan has previously said that he does not want to come to Sweden, because he himself believes that it is dangerous for him to stay in Malmö.

REVEALS: Rasmus Paludan was wanted in Sweden for a year

    Published 2024-08-08

Rasmus Paludan was wanted in Sweden for a whole year. Samnytt can now reveal that. He was flagged in the police system, and all officers had orders to arrest him if they encountered him – for example, at a traffic stop. It was in May of last year that information leaked to the media that Rasmus Paludan had been arrested in Sweden while he was out. Claim: Rasmus Paludan arrested in

Rasmus Paludan is now under arrest in Sweden in his absence. Aftonbladet claims that. The Danish-Swedish politician has been suspected since March of this year of incitement against a group of people, assault against an official and insult due to last year’s Koran riots.

When Samnytt calls Paludan, he questions whether the information in the social democratic newspaper, which would mean that he will be arrested by the police if he tries to travel to Sweden, is true.

    – It is not a particularly serious crime I am suspected of, and if I were to be arrested for it, it would be quite idiotic, he says.

    – If it is really so, then it is possible that I will dispute it because it is completely idiotic.

    Criminal suspect
Since March this year, Rasmus Paludan has been suspected of incitement against a group of people, assault against an official and insult in Sweden.

The first criminal classification concerns the fact that on April 16 last year he set fire to a Koran at the Skånegården rest area by the Öresund Bridge. A demonstration that the Malmö police then gave the go-ahead to, but almost a year later judged could be criminal.

The two other criminal classifications are about Paludan planning to set fire to a Koran outside the tough police and left-wing activist Emelie Kullmyr’s home outside Gothenburg.

The campaign never materialized, but his planned political protest against the illegally acting female police chief is now considered an “assault” against her.

    Want to be questioned
Rasmus Paludan has expressed several times that he wants to be questioned about the criminal charges.

    – I really want to answer. I am innocent, so it is in my interest to answer, he tells Samnytt.

On the other hand, Paludan does not want to go to Malmö for questioning in view of the threat to him, and because the Malmö police do not want to give him personal protection in connection with such a trip. He has offered to instead hold the interrogation via telephone or with the help of Danish police, something that the police in Malmö did not agree to.

The Danish-Swedish politician believes that the authorities in Malmö are being pressured by the city’s large Muslim population to stretch the law to try to get at him.

    – They are threatened by the fact that a large percentage of those who live in Malmö want me to be injured. They can’t do that right away, but they can do what they’re doing now, he says.

    “Real entry ban”
Rasmus Paludan was born in Denmark, but is the son of the Swedish politician and writer Tomas Polvall. When Polvall married Paludan’s mother in 1989, the son also became a Swedish citizen.

Despite his Swedish citizenship, Rasmus Paludan was banned from entering Sweden three years ago, which is against the constitution. It was also a decision that the Malmö police stood behind.

Paludan says that he does not have any plans to visit Sweden, but that the actions of the Swedish authorities are now a way of trying in practice to once again ensure that he cannot travel to the country of which he is a citizen.

    – In real terms it is an entry ban, but the fact that the Malmö police do not want to protect me from being murdered is also an entry ban, he says.

If Paludan is arrested, that decision has been made by a prosecutor. However, Paludan believes that the Prosecutor’s Office in Malmö has “the same challenges” as the Malmö police and is under pressure from the city’s Muslims.

    The prosecutor confirms
Over a year later, on Wednesday this week, prosecutor Adrien Combier-Hogg files his indictment against Paludan. Two cases of incitement against a group of people and one insult. Rasmus Paludan is charged with defending freedom of expression

The Danish-Swedish politician and activist Rasmus Paludan is charged with incitement against a ethnic group and insult. Prosecutor Adrien Combier-Hogg submitted his lawsuit to the Malmö District Court today. Among other things, the indictment concerns Paludan’s defense of Swedish freedom of speech, which the prosecutor believes is offensive to Muslims.

The first sentence in the first indictment concerns that Paludan during one of his Koran burnings in Sweden spoke passionately for freedom of expression.

    – – – – –

  4. 2.

    – Freedom of speech means that you can say things that others in the country do not like to hear. And you can say it without others attacking or trying to kill you. That is precisely what freedom of speech is, he said during a speech at Rastplats Skånegården outside Malmö in April 2022.

A statement that the prosecutor interprets as Paludan saying “that Muslims do not like Western democracy and freedom of speech”, which is therefore considered offensive to the ethnic group.

“Islam makes a lot of mistakes”
The second sentence in the indictment relates to Paludan saying that it could “be a problem” if someone “likes, for example, to use violence as a means of communication” because “only God’s word applies”.

Even the something that the prosecutor means refers to and is disrespectful towards Muslims.

    Facsimile
Several of the indictments relate to Paludan’s warning of an Islamist takeover during his speech.

    – It happened before Islam took over. Then it is very very inconvenient to live in this place, because Islam makes it not very comfortable to live in places. Because Islam makes a lot of mistakes, and there is a lot of unrest and not harmony in those places, he said, among other things.

The prosecutor believes that the statement constitutes illegal criticism of Islam. “Arabs and Africans are so highly intelligent”
The second charge mainly concerns statements about “Arabs and Africans”.

    – If you like Arab and African culture, and like that Arabs and Africans are so highly intelligent, always work and never commit crimes. Yes, but in that case it has been great that two million of that type came here, Paludan said, among other things, as well as:

    – Actually, it has become so good in countries where they used to be that they have left those countries to do great in other countries as well. Because they are so proud of how calm, peaceful and highly developed their own countries are.

    Facsimile
    – Here I am thinking of the highly developed and peaceful, highly civilized countries such as Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia. And also Syria. Wow!

Sarcastic statements which the prosecutor considers to be disrespectful.

    Offended criminal African
Rasmus Paludan is also charged with insulting an African man in his 50s, who is alleged to have called Paludan a “shit boot”.

    – Yes, go your way. Bye then! Back to Africa! Go home to Africa! Paludan shouted at the man.

When the man shouted: “I’m home”, the anti-Islamic activist replied:

    – You are not at home! This will never be your home! You will never be Swedish! Travel home!

The offended man has previously been convicted of a crime, and has been in prison for, among other things, serious assault and serious violation of women’s privacy. He was born in an African country, is now a Swedish citizen and, according to court documents, lives on benefits.

The offended African demands SEK 60,000 in damages from Paludan.

Wants the district court to try
It has been almost two and a half years since Paludan’s demonstration at Rastplats Skånegården. And senior prosecutor Adrien Combier-Hogg is hoping for a conviction for the anti-Islam activist.

    – My assessment is that there are sufficient reasons to bring charges and now the district court will hear the case, he says in a prepared statement.

The prosecutor does not want to give any further comments.

Rasmus Paludan, himself a trained lawyer, denies any crime. He told Samnytt on Tuesday that the prosecution is weak, but that the prosecutor chooses to bring charges anyway in the hope that it will benefit his own career.

    – That prosecutor would very much like to end up in the newspaper. He wants to get to the top. And the easiest way to do that within the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Sweden is to bring charges against Rasmus Paludan, claims Rasmus Paludan.

    The prosecutor confirms
Over a year later, on Wednesday this week, prosecutor Adrien Combier-Hogg files his indictment against Paludan. Two cases of incitement against a group of people and one insult. After the indictment was filed, Samnytt contacted the prosecutor to ask about the arrest last year. At first, he does not want to comment on the task.

    – I have no interest in commenting on it right now. It is a means of coercion that may have been part of the preliminary investigation, and there is nothing that is included in the material that I submitted to the district court, says Adrien Combier-Hogg when Samnytt calls.

Nine minutes later, the prosecutor speaks again, and can now answer the question.

    – I can confirm that he was arrested in his absence, as you mentioned earlier. It was from April 30, 2023 through April 29, 2024. So for almost exactly one year, says Adrien Combier-Hogg.

So if Rasmus Paludan traveled into Sweden and was stopped at a border control, would he have been arrested?

    – – – – –

  5. 3.

    – Yes, exactly. Flagged in the police system
Adrien Combier-Hogg then explains that there are two different forms of arrest in absentia, or absenteeism as it is also called. In the first case, for example before a police operation, the arrested person is not “flagged” in the police system. The arrest exists only to give the police powers to detain the person.

    – Then it is not visible in the system to the outside. Then you don’t want the person in question to be detained in connection with a traffic control or the like, because that could affect the effort, he says. The police chief says: That’s why I took a stand against Paludan
as well as discounts and offers from Samnytt’s partners. In the second case, the person is “flagged” so that the first best police patrol that comes across the arrested person has orders to arrest him.

    – Then it appears in the systems that you must deprive you of your liberty if you come across the person in question, the prosecutor clarifies.

In the case of Rasmus Paludan, what type of arrest was involved? The first case, or the second case where it shows up in the systems?

    – This is the second case, because the person in question was not in Sweden.

    A form of solicitation
Adrien Combier-Hogg then says that the flagging in the police system can be seen as a form of wanted, although that particular word is not something that he uses.

He points out that it is important for him to use the right words, and that wanted is not a term used by prosecutors in Sweden.

READ ALSO: Police took Paludan into custody in response to Muslim riots

    – It’s not a word I usually use. You get connections to the film world when it comes to “wanting”, he says.

    – But in layman’s terms you can certainly draw a parallel. Wanted is not a word I use, but in practice it probably means the same thing, says Adrien Combier-Hogg.

    Paludan: “It’s crazy”
It is no news for Rasmus Paludan that he was arrested last year while he was out. Something that is news, however, is that he was wanted right up until April 29 this year.

    – I didn’t know about it, he says to Samnytt.

    – It’s crazy because I had the final hearing in February. So if I was still under arrest at the end of April, that is illegal and insane.

The Islamophobic activist points to the actions of the Swedish police as a reason why he stayed away from Sweden.

    – I have told you and others that I did not want to come to Sweden. It was not only because of threats from terrorists, but also because the Swedish police are dangerous, says Rasmus Paludan.
