FedNow is Here, and the Federal Reserve Says it’s Not a CBDC (But it Would Make One Easier to Implement)

The Federal Reserve has asserted that the FedNow Service, its latest instant payment offering for organizations, is unrelated to the concept of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). The new service is expected to revolutionize the payment landscape by offering real-time gross settlement (RTGS), a departure from traditional methods, which can take up to a few days.

Yet, while FedNow isn’t a CBDC and isn’t yet tied to one, it certainly makes implementing a future CBDC much easier — and that’s why critics are skeptical.

The central bank has brought on board a mix of 41 financial institutions, 15 service providers, and the US Department of the Treasury to fine-tune the FedNow Service before its roll-out slated for late July 2023.

France: Paris Housing Prices Reach Lowest Level in Four Years Amid Rising Interest Rates

Paris housing prices have experienced a significant downturn, reaching their lowest level in four years as the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and increasing interest rates take their toll.

According to data compiled by Le Figaro, asking prices in June dropped by 4.1% compared to the previous year, falling to €10,936 per square meter. This decline represents the most substantial year-on-year drop in at least a decade and is the largest decrease in Bloomberg’s City Tracker.

Polish Finance Minister: Polish Economy is in Great Shape Despite War, COVID Crisis

Polish Finance Minister Magdalena Rzeczkowska has said that despite the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which both caused the spike in inflation and problems with supply chains, the Polish economy is in very good shape.

According to her, Poland is one of the top countries in which foreign investors want to place their money, and the rating agencies have taken note, giving Poland high marks. Moreover, Poland’s currency, the zloty, is currently appreciating against both the U.S. dollar and the euro.

Inflation forecasts are now optimistic, with 12 percent inflation expected to fall to between 5 and 7 percent next year. Meanwhile, GDP growth is predicted to be 3 percent for 2024.

Rising Prices Push More Germans Into Financial Crisis

More and more Germans are facing financial difficulties due to the steep rise in prices for groceries and other essential needs, reports Focus online. Experts refer to it as a socially unfair crisis, as low-income earners are particularly hard-hit by the inflation. The federal government expects the level of indebtedness to continue to increase. Many households find themselves compelled to finance their expenses through new debts.

The number of over-indebted individuals is significantly on the rise, further deteriorating the economic situation of private households. The escalating costs of living, combined with the inability to save for unforeseen expenses, create a vicious cycle for many affected individuals. The Consumer Protection Minister and consumer advocates advise those affected to seek debt counseling early on to receive support.

The ACC’s legal action was filed against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) over the EPA’s draft assessment of formaldehyde published in 2022. CDC: COVID Shots Caused 338X Increase in Cancers & AIDS

Official data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed that Covid shots caused a disturbing spike in the number of Americans developing diseases that decimate the innate immune system.

The new data from the CDC shows that large numbers of fully vaccinated Americans are developing cancers and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).

The CDC data doesn’t show a phenomenon that’s unique in the United States, however.

Further data made available by the governments of Canada and the UK also suggests that the vaccinated populations in both of these countries are also developing the debilitating condition.

Christians Arrested for Maskless Outdoor Church Service to Get Payout From Liberal College Town

A liberal college town in Idaho is paying $300,000 to three Christian churchgoers who sued the city after being arrested for not wearing masks at an outside service during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city of Moscow announced this week that it would settle with Gabriel Rench, as well as Sean and Rachel Bohnet, who brought a case against city leaders in March 2021 that alleged their rights under the First and Fourth Amendments were violated when they were arrested at an outdoor “psalm sing” conducted by leaders from their church in September 2020.

Moscow, home to the University of Idaho, is a town of approximately 25,000 people about 80 miles south of Spokane, Washington. Christ Church is a local congregation of approximately 1,000 people belonging to the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches.

Cruz-Klobuchar Amendment Would Give Lawmakers Powers to Scrub Private Information From the Internet

In a move that will raise eyebrows amongst transparency proponents, US Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) are gearing up to put forth an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that could provide lawmakers with unprecedented powers to censor a plethora of internet-based information. The proposed change, however, has sparked concerns around potential censorship of news reports and impingements upon freedom of speech.

The proposed legislation would extend the privilege to lawmakers, their family members, select congressional staff identified as high-risk, and individuals cohabitating with lawmakers, enabling them to demand the extensive elimination of certain personal data online, referred to as “covered information.” The amendment enumerates “covered information” to include home addresses, secondary residences, personal email accounts, cell phone numbers, and other personal and sensitive travel details.

Furthermore, the amendment equips lawmakers with the power to obliterate private data amassed by digital devices, including apps.

Democrats Sue to Reinstate Absentee Drop Boxes in Wisconsin

A new lawsuit filed in Wisconsin by a national Democratic law firm seeks to once again allow voters to return absentee ballots in drop boxes, a practice that was barred by the state Supreme Court last year following criticism by former President Donald Trump.

The lawsuit filed Thursday by the Elias Law Group comes less than two weeks before the Wisconsin Supreme Court flips from a conservative to liberal majority. Election law challenges like this one are among many issues the new liberal-controlled court is expected to rule on in the coming months.

Ex-Deputy Blames Anti-Law Enforcement ‘Bias’ After Jury Acquits Man Who Beat, Shot at Her: ‘Knife in the Back’

A former California sheriff’s deputy says anti-law enforcement bias is to blame after a jury acquitted a man seen on video beating her to the ground and trying to shoot her with her own weapon.

Former San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy Meagan McCarthy told “Fox & Friends First” Thursday that recent reforms to California’s jury selection process allowed jurors with an “expressed bias” against law enforcement to decide her case.

“If you express an implicit bias towards law enforcement, you are allowed to sit on a jury. And that has never been the case before,” McCarthy said. “So in my situation, we had many jurors who expressed this bias towards law enforcement, and they were still allowed to decide guilty or not guilty on my suspect.”

Grassley said he had released the document so that the American people can “read this document for themselves without the filter of politicians or bureaucrats.”

The document is an FBI-generated FD-1023 form, which Grassley acquired through legally protected disclosures by Department of Justice whistleblowers, according to the senator’s office.

Jan 6 Protester Sues CNN for Defamation, Demands $37 Million From Network

A protester arrested for entering the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021, is suing CNN for defamation.

Jacob Hiles, a charter boat captain from Virginia Beach, said he went to Washington, D.C. to protest on Jan. 6 to “express his support for President Donald Trump by exercising his 1st Amendment rights guaranteed to him under the United States Constitution.”

However, like many of those arrested over Jan. 6, Hiles was smeared by the media.

Now he is fighting back and is suing CNN for defamation over an article the network published about him.

Hiles is seeking $37 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages.

According to the lawsuit, a CNN article’s contents were defamatory because the network “falsely accused Hiles of felonious criminal activity of which he was not charged or convicted, either directly or indirectly.”

‘Kansas Two-Step’ Highway Patrol Technique Ruled Unconstitutional for Marijuana Vehicle Searching

The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) has been ordered to stop its infamous “two-step” technique by a federal judge, who said it violated people’s Fourth Amendment rights. The technique centered around vehicle searching for marijuana in Kansas from out-of-state drivers, mostly from Colorado and Missouri — states where pot is legal. It is illegal to possess marijuana in Kansas.

In the order filed Friday, U.S. District Judge Kathryn H. Vratil wrote that patrol’s tactics in traffic stops violated the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment, which protects individuals from “unreasonable searches and seizures.”

The “two-step” is a technique, allegedly taught to officers by KHP Superintendent Herman Jones, where officers end a routine traffic stop, begin to return to their cruiser and then turn around to begin a separate effort to gain entry into a vehicle and search for marijuana.

Private Search Engine Mojeek Adds Openverse, a Search Tool for Openly-Licensed Images

In a move to enhance its user experience and broaden the scope of image search, private search engine Mojeek has incorporated Openverse, a platform dedicated to openly-licensed media. This latest feature marks a new chapter in Mojeek’s journey to remain independent of Big Tech, an ethos that has been deeply ingrained since its inception.

Until recently, Mojeek’s image search function relied on Pixabay and Bing, platforms incorporated back in 2018. Pixabay, a repository of over 4 million royalty-free and stock images, was aligned with Mojeek’s values of independence, simplicity, and usability. However, to cater to users requiring a broader search, Bing was added to the mix, albeit without making it the default choice to maintain Mojeek’s core value of independence from Big Tech.

Twitter Wants to Subpoena Senator Elizabeth Warren for Communications With Government Agencies

Twitter has stated its intention to serve a subpoena on US Senator Elizabeth Warren. This move, which was announced via a court filing this past Thursday, comes as the social media giant continues to contest the validity of a consent order reached with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the preceding year, in relation to its handling of data breaches.

The consent order that Twitter is looking to void stemmed from allegations of privacy mishandling and data leaks. The request for annulment, which accuses the FTC of bias and unwarranted intervention, was lodged in a federal court in San Francisco.

This week Warren, a member of the Senate Banking, House, and Urban Affairs Committee, sent a letter to Gary Gensler, SEC head, to open an investigation into Tesla and its board of directors’ alleged “failure to manage the actions of CEO Elon Musk in his dual role as CEO of Twitter and Tesla.”

‘Tyre Extinguishers’ Target Royal Oak Man: ‘They Put Lentil Beans in the Stems’

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (FOX 2) — A man who walked out to his GMC pickup in Royal Oak recently found he suddenly had four flat tires, allegedly deflated by an eco-activist group.

It was Thursday morning when the man walked out and found his four flat tires. Typically, this would be a minor inconvenience

“I want people to be aware of this so it doesn’t happen to them or they could catch them in the act,” he told FOX 2’s Hilary Golston.

Along with the flat tires was a flier that read “Attention, your gas guzzler kills. We have deflated one or more of your tyres. You’ll be angry, but don’t take it personally. It’s not you it’s your car.” The flier cited big vehicles as a “disaster for our climate.”

Video of Deserted Mall and Streets in Downtown San Fran Reveals Democrats Destroyed City

A recent poll commissioned by Probolsky Research found 60% of voters in San Francisco “disapprove” of Mayor London Breed’s performance, and only 22% believe she deserves re-election.

There’s plunging confidence among the business community that progressive leadership in the crime-ridden metro can revive the poop-infested downtown area. Businesses are closing up shops in droves, while some building owners have stopped payments on malls and hotels as the city’s economic recovery appears bleak.

San Francisco Chamber of Commerce CEO Rodney Fong recently drew a dire historical parallel of the faltering metro area to the 1906 earthquake: “We have a lot of work to do as residents are more pessimistic than ever.”

Europe at the Polls: What’s at Stake in the 2024 EU Elections?

Next year’s elections might provide a historical opportunity to correct the leftist imbalance of the European Parliament, but the conservative revival of Europe depends on voters realizing that their voice matters. This was the conclusion of an insightful panel discussion at Tusvanyos, a conservative political gathering in Transylvania on Wednesday, July 19th.

The panel, organized by the conservative think-tank MCC, included Rodrigo Ballester, the head of the Center for European Studies at MCC and a former EU Commission official; Mick Hume, a senior writer for The European Conservative; and Thomas Fazi, a journalist at Unherd.

With less than a year until the next European elections, the panelists discussed whether a populist revolution is really possible, what effects it would have in Brussels, and how we could all make it happen.

The report showed that though windmill installation was speeding up, “the expansion falls short of the requirements for reliably achieving an expansion target of 115 GW in 2030.”

German Climate Extremists Escape Criminal Organisation Classification

‘Letzte Generation’—or ‘the Last Generation’—Germany’s leading extremist climate alarmist group, will not be classified as a criminal organisation despite having engaged in as many as 580 criminal offences since 2022.

On Wednesday, July 19th, the Berlin Senate Justice Department announced the result of its reviews into the activity of the group and stated that it did not believe it was needed to classify Last Generation as a criminal organisation, according to a report in Die Welt.

Germany has recently been cracking down on the antics of certain extremist climate groups whose members engage in disruptive protests, such as glueing themselves to roads and, more recently, glueing themselves to runways in airports in the cities of Düsseldorf and Hamburg, causing major air traffic disruptions.

Germany: Chancellor Scholz’s Cool Demeanor Hides Deep Coalition Troubles

Halfway through its mandate, Germany’s traffic light coalition is beset with both internal strife and the fast rise of the opposition party Alternative for Germany (AfD), and Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s outwardly cool facade can only do so much to mask the problems, Hungarian news and opinion portal Mandiner writes.

Opinion polls show that voters are not very satisfied with the policies of the three parties.

Three-quarters of German citizens are not at all or only slightly satisfied with the work of the federal government, and it seems that if the elections were held now, the three parties would no longer be able to win a majority.

Unprecedented Decline in Birth Rate in Switzerland for 100 Years

Switzerland is witnessing the most striking decline in birth rates in over a century.

Interest in potential impact of Covid vaccination on fertility

Given these alarming birth rate decline figures, a question is being quietly raised across Europe. Due to the prevailing narrative, any discussion about a potential connection between the birth rate decline and Covid vaccination is often considered taboo.

Findings on spike protein in testes

However, some studies have arrived at a noteworthy result that has yet to be publicly acknowledged. The spike protein has been exclusively detected in the testes of some men who received the Covid vaccine. This discovery has led to further investigations in Switzerland.

Stable birth rates despite COVID-19

Prior to the pandemic, Switzerland had maintained a stable birth pattern for 100 years. Covid-19 had no impact on this pattern, emphasized by the retired Dutch professor, Pierre Capel.

Unexpected decline in births after vaccination campaign

Only nine months after the start of the vaccination campaign, Switzerland’s statistics show an unexpected decrease in the birth rate. “This has not happened in 100 years,” says Capel.

Pentagon Has Determined That Some of the Western Weapons Supplied to Ukraine Were Stolen

Part of the Western weapons sent to Ukraine was stolen, but Ukrainian intelligence agencies have exposed the channels of theft. This information comes from a report by the Pentagon cited by CNN.

According to the report, from February to September 2022, the Americans did not have the ability to monitor the supplied weaponry and only sent a commission to Ukraine at the end of October. Additionally, tracking systems were installed on the equipment.

Initially, the U.S. European Command attempted to request receipts from the Ukrainians, and they made “good faith efforts” to provide them. However, by the time the investigation was completed, the personnel did not provide the inspecting group with confirming documents, as noted in the report.

As a result, “criminal organizations managed to steal some amount of weapons and equipment.” CNN cites cases of theft.

Polish Army General: Ukrainian Counteroffensive is a Myth

Polish General Leon Komornicki has said that the so-called Ukrainian counteroffensive that the globalist-owned western press has hailed is a myth since Ukrainians are engaged in tactical not strategic maneuvers.

General Komornicki gave his comments in an interview with the Polish news outlet Nowa Konfederacja. The retired general admitted that the Ukrainians are making very little if any progress at all in taking back Russian-held territory, Dorzeczy reported.

This means that Ukraine does not possess the required numerical or logistical superiority to be able to break through Russian defensive positions and make significant territorial gains, Komornicki said.

He thinks Ukraine simply does not have the assets and resources to launch a proper counteroffensive.

‘Some Will Starve, Many May Die,’ U.N. Warns After Russia Pulls Out of Grain Deal

Threats against civilian vessels in the Black Sea are “unacceptable,” a senior U.N. official said Friday following statements by Moscow and Kyiv after Russia withdrew from a key grain export deal.

Russia announced on Monday that it was pulling out of the initiative, which allowed the safe export of Ukrainian grain, effectively ending the agreement signed in July last year between Moscow, Kyiv, Istanbul and the U.N. Russian authorities then announced they would consider any ships heading for Ukrainian grain ports on the Black Sea as military targets.

Ukraine responded by issuing a warning to ships heading for Russian-controlled ports.

“Threats regarding potential targeting of civilian vessels navigating in the Black Sea waters are unacceptable,” the U.N.’s under-secretary-general for political affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, told the U.N. Security Council.

“We are also concerned about the reports of sea mines laid in the Black Sea, endangering civilian navigation,” she added. “We strongly urge restraint from any further rhetoric or action that could deteriorate the already dangerous situation.”

While U.S. Diplomats Negotiated With China, China Hacked Them

by Daniel Greenfield

In June, America and China traded hacks.

Secretary of State Blinken traveled to Beijing in a visit that had been delayed for a few months after the public learned that China had been flying a spy balloon over America. After days of “high-level talks”, the Biden administration official claimed that the trip was a success.

“We have made progress and we are moving forward,” the State Department official declared.

Meanwhile, China had been hacking.the State Department. While Secretary of State Blinken and State Department officials prepped for the biggest Chinese diplomatic exchange of the administration, Chinese hackers pulled off an ingenious targeted attack aimed at accessing the emails of State Department and other government officials including Blinken’s own messages.

The Biden administration and China had different definitions of “moving forward”.

Secretary of State Blinken learned that China had tried to hack his emails a day before he was set to visit Beijing, and he chose to go ahead with the trip without making any public mention of it, not wanting to spoil the photo op. The previous scheduling of the trip had been bumped because of China’s spy balloon and Blinken chose to demonstrate to the enemy that no amount of abusive behavior was going to stop the Biden administration’s appeasement.

The Biden administration’s idea of diplomacy was talking to China, while the People’s Republic wanted to know what Blinken and other top officials were going to say before they got there. Besides targeting Blinken and State Department officials, Chinese hackers also came after Commerce Secretary Raimondo and members of her department. That won’t stop Raimondo from visiting China later this year. No Chinese attack or provocation will stop the appeasement…

AfD Foreign Policy Spokesman Petr Bystron: Carola Rackete Belongs in Prison, Not in the EU Parliament

Left-wing extremist and human trafficker activist Carola Rackete, who is the captain of the sea vessel Sea Watch 3 that shuttles illegal migrants from North Africa to Europe has been placed on Germany’s Left Party list for the EU elections in 2004, prompting harsh criticism.

The foreign policy spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group, Petr Bystron, described Rackete as a “common criminal” who “belongs in prison” and “not in the EU Parliament”. Bystron is one of the leading prosecutors of the criminal smuggling of migrants into Europe. As early as 2019, the member of the Bundestag filed criminal charges against the organization Sea-Watch and other NGOs registered in Germany.

Carola Rackete, as the “captain” of the tugboat Sea-Watch 3, has been repeatedly criticized since 2019 for so-called “sea rescue operations” off the coast of Libya. On June 12, 2019, she took almost 50 migrants from the Mediterranean on board to bring them to Europe as quickly as possible.

France: National Rally MP Introduces Bill to Preserve Women’s Athletics

A lawmaker from the National Rally introduced a piece of legislation earlier this month that, if passed by the National Assembly, would assure the preservation of women’s athletics in France, making it so athletes are required to compete in categories that correspond to the biological sex that appears on their birth certificate.

The legislation, seen by the press on Tuesday, July 18th, was presented to the French chamber by National Rally MP Julien Odoul, who has repeatedly decried what he calls the “transgender drift” in women’s sports. The text’s primary aim, he says, is to “preserve women’s sport” and rectify a situation that allows transgender ‘women’ to “win competitions because of their physiological advantage,” BFMTV reports.

Odoul likened the rules that are currently in place, which allow biological males who have ‘transitioned’ into transgender ‘women,’ to “a form of legalized doping.”

As Slay News reported, Country Music Television (CMT) pulled Aldean’s song from the airwaves after caving to the mob.

The Left has been bashing the song and pushing false claims about its lyrics while calling for boycotts.

But today, Billboard is reporting that the song hit number one on the US iTunes charts.

The YouTube video has also received 4.9 million views in less than a week.

A novel by Houellebecq partly depicts Sweden’s current situation

    21/7-23

It is Sweden that lets fiction become reality

    By: Hans Rustad / SNAPHANEN.DK
    From Danish by LN.

People have stopped reading novels because they don’t feel the authors are in step with the time. But Michel Houellebecq is the exception. His 2015 novel ‘Submission’ is about to become a reality.

In the 2022 French presidential elections, the Muslim Brotherhood will come to power. We are now a year late, but in Sweden, on the other hand, fiction is about to become reality.

A Muslim-infiltrated, Western country collapses not with a bang, but with a whimper. There is no sign that the Swedish government will challenge Muslim demands for submission, for that is what respect for the Koran is really all about.

Notice how the regime-controlled media is paving the way for Islam by starting to call the Koran a holy book. This is no accident. Next year, cities will be decorated for Ramadan just as they are for Christmas.

Islamization is happening at such a frighteningly fast pace, so fast that it should almost feel like a liberation to finally submit.

That’s the whole point of Houellebecq’s book: there were initial hints of an impending civil war, but then it all died down. There was no strength in the politicians to prevent it. It was much easier to just surrender.

This is descriptive of all politicians in Western Europe right now. There are rumblings in Italy, Spain and Germany, but when the media and politicians beat the drum, they conjure up fascism. They think it will help – and be enough…

But they are not beating the drum to eradicate Islam. They do not even understand what is meant. They have long since mentally prepared themselves to surrender.

We remember how in 1938 the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain handed over the Sudetenland to Hitler, who shortly afterwards marched in and took the whole of Czechoslovakia. It was done by force of arms and could not be ignored.

But today’s politicians have passed hate laws that prohibit the publication of what is happening. In that light, we are much worse off than we were in 1938. These laws are designed to keep the population in check. Politicians and the media have realized that the resistance is much stronger than what appears on the surface.

    What could happen?

Soldiers could sit quietly and watch as the city is burned and looted.
Civil war could break out in France. During the Intifada, there were soldiers in civilian clothes assisting the police. These were soldiers on active duty who could not sit still and watch the city being burned and looted.
It does not take much of a coincidence for someone to be shot and for the unrest to escalate in a few moments.

The media immediately went after the soldiers who wanted to defend their homeland. The media are on the side of the Muslims. They portray all resistance as right-wing extremism.

Sweden could be the first country to fall like a ripe fruit. The Muslims will not take over openly. But they will have a hand on the wheel, they will be let in. Erdogan is pushing for concessions that the Swedes do not dare to oppose. In practice, Sweden will have capitulated.

It doesn’t take many moves until Sweden has crossed that line.
A law against Koran desecration would be an important step along the way.

This is just around the corner, and if Sweden leads the way, Denmark and Norway will follow.

    • FREESWEDEN: It’s interesting to see Houllebecq “Submission” beaten up in Amazon’s reviews. This must mean the novel is 100% on target.
