Statistician: UN Climate Treaty Will Cost $100 Trillion — to Have No Impact

Danish statistician Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, the President of the Copenhagen Consensus Center: ‘We will spend at least one hundred trillion dollars in order to reduce the temperature by the end of the century by a grand total of three tenths of one degree…the equivalent of postponing warming by less than four years…Again, that is using the UN’s own climate prediction model.’

‘If the U.S. delivers for the whole century on the President Obama’s very ambitious rhetoric, it would postpone global warming by about eight months at the end of the century.’

‘But here is the biggest problem: These miniscule benefits do not come free-quite the contrary. The cost of the UN Paris climate pact is likely to run 1 to 2 trillion dollars every year.’

Anti-Trump Operatives Poison Insider Roger Stone

Roger Stone has sensationally claimed he was poisoned by political enemies who wanted to kill him before he could ‘debunk’ their ‘lie’ that he knew Russians would hack the US election.

The longtime Trump supporter claimed to have been told by doctors that a mysterious and debilitating virus he was suddenly struck with in December was in fact polonium poisoning.

At the time, Stone had just been accused by the Obama administration of having prior knowledge Vladimir Putin was planning to meddle in the election.

He says the poisoning was an attempt to stop him from testifying at a Congressional Hearing where he claimed he could prove the accusation was a lie.

‘I believe I was poisoned to stop me from exposing the Russian Hacking LIE b4 the Congressional Investigation,’ Stone, 64, told his Twitter followers.

Appearing on fellow Trump loyalist Alex Jones’s Info Wars earlier, he said he was targeted by the ‘deep state’ who wanted to stop him from revealing the truth.

‘I became extremely ill. This manifested itself in over 14 days of high fever, delirium, night sweats, I had lesions on my chest and my face…

‘The general consensus is I was poisoned. I was poisoned with polonium or a substance that has the characteristics of polonium and this made me exceedingly ill,’ he said.

Cartapping: How Feds Have Spied on Connected Cars for 15 Years

The rapid spread of connected devices that can listen and locate has been a boon for law enforcement. Any new technology hooked up to the web has the potential to become a surveillance device, even if it’s original purpose was benign, as shown in a 2016 Arkansas murder investigation where Amazon was asked to hand over audio from a suspect’s Echo.

But such information and much more, I’ve learned, has long been retrievable from cars. Indeed, court documents reveal a 15-year history of what’s been dubbed “cartapping,” where almost real-time audio and location data can be retrieved when cops order vehicle tech providers to hand it over.

Corrupt California AG Labor Board Chair Resigns; Gov. Reappoints Crooked Former Chairwoman

Removing all doubt that the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board is a Marxist tool for unionization, William B. Gould IV, Gov. Jerry Brown’s appointed Chairman of the board, announced his resignation Friday, in a cranky letter complaining that farm workers don’t want to join the United Farmworkers Union.

Gould’s resignation also proved that he never was an unbiased arbiter of the the agency, despite proclaiming his “commitment to the principles of the Agricultural Labor Relations Act of 1975.”…

The real story is about Gerawan Farming, and its 5,000 employees, targeted since 2012 for unionization by the United farm Workers Labor Union. But the Gerawan workers fought back against unionization, even holding an ALRB election to try to decertify the labor union — largely because most farm workers have no interest in “organizing,” and losing 3 percent of their pay as mandatory dues. While most of Gerawan’s employees are well-compensated full-time workers, many farm workers are seasonal and work in various locations around the state. I have been told by many workers they don’t see any advantage to the union “stealing” their hard-earned income for dues.

When the UFW couldn’t convince Gerawan’s employees to join them, the union leaders turned to Gould and his ALRB minions to force them into the union.

Gingrich: Obama ‘Arrived With a Set of Very Radical Left-Wing Beliefs’

“If Barack Obama had set out to deliberately undermine and weaken America, what has he missed? I mean what else would he have done? It is unimaginable how much damage he has done. North Dakota May Eliminate Penalties for Running Down Protesters Who Block the Freeway

We’ve all seen the clips. A mob of protesters rioters shuffles down the center of a three-lane highway like a scene from The Walking Dead. They block traffic, delay safety and rescue vehicles, and generally cause havoc in the name of their cause du jour. Many have wondered “what happens if you just plow into them?” Well, usually what happens is you go to jail. However, in North Dakota, that may soon be a thing of the past.

OK, not exactly. Before you go all David Carradine in Death Race 2000, you should know that purposely running protesters down will still be a crime. But, if a new bill makes it through the North Dakota legislature, there may be no penalty for negligently hitting someone who is willfully obstructing a public highway.

NY Cardinal Invited to Participate in Presidential Inaugural Has ‘Some Reservations’ About Trump

A mere three days before the historical Presidential Inauguration of Donald N. Trump, a Catholic Cardinal from New York who’s reading Holy Scripture at the ceremony has expressed some ‘reservations’ about Trump. While I am a faithful professed and practicing Catholic, LibertyFight.com has reported twice on Cardinal Dolan previously, neither of the instances favorable. In 2015 Dolan whined that immigrants are “are scorned and rejected.” That same year, he criticized critics of police abuse as a “shrill but tiny minority” whom “might try to malign” the ‘heroic’ police. WORST OF ALL, Cardinal Dolan praised Bill Donohue of ‘The Catholic League,’ who had falsely maligned of SNAP, Survivors Network of those abused by Priests, as a ‘phony victims’ group.’

Obama Pushes $111.2 Billion in ‘Midnight’ Regs in 5 Days

The Obama administration published a whopping $111.2 billion worth of regulations in the last five days, according to a new report.

Regulators published $111.2 billion in total costs with $5.7 billion in annual burdens, compared to $71.9 billion in benefits,” writes Dan Goldbeck, a policy analyst at the right-leaning American Action Forum (AAF).

“The main drivers of regulatory burdens included a proposed rule on ‘Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications’ and an Affordable Care Act final rule on home health agencies,” Goldbeck reported.

The Department of Transportation “Vehicle-to-Vehicle” rule is the biggest driver of regulatory costs in the last week. That rule alone is expected to cost automakers $109 billion, or about $5 billion a year.

O’keefe: Media Ignoring Radical Threats Against Trump

The mainstream media is refusing to cover news regarding the radical group Disrupt J20’s plan to commit violence and acts of domestic terrorism at both the inauguration and Deploraball, says Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe.

“They do not want to report on the fact that people are going to cause havoc and violence on Thursday and Friday,” O’Keefe said on The Alex Jones Show Tuesday. “It’s criminal what the media is doing.”

Instead of investigating the videos released by Project Veritas, the mainstream media is running with the notion that O’Keefe was inciting them and the video showing the Disrupt J20 group plotting violence is actually an elaborate “prank.”

“It’s not just a prank, this butyric acid is a flammable material, it could burn your lungs, it could cause a stampede out of the National Press Club,” O’Keefe said. “It’s considered terrorism.”

“And if this stuff actually happens, the media is now complicit,” he pointed out. “It’s criminal for them to try and turn it around on the person who is exposing the violence.”

The Disrupt J20 group responded to the undercover video by saying they were just “punking” O’Keefe in an effort to downplay the severity of the footage.

“It’s a laughable, kind of cover-your-ass excuse, trying to say this was all a joke,” O’Keefe said. “When in fact, the FBI has their name and number.”

“It’s kind of ironic that the anti-fascists are gassing people,” he added.

Scientists Determine Moon’s Age

The moon is much older than previously thought

When the astronauts of Apollo 14 returned from the moon more than 45 years ago, they brought back nearly 100 pounds of rocks and soil from the lunar surface — and an answer to a cosmic puzzle.

The astronauts, Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell and Stuart Roosa, all have died now, but their cargo reveals a fresh story of the moon’s birth from the early time when Earth and our solar system were new.

Sponsors of Anarchy

The violence and mayhem that lies ahead this weekend.

Lee Stranahan, an independent journalist and blogger who covers protest movements for Breitbart, adds: “It’s important that Americans not be lulled into a false sense of security by such an oversimplification. While it’s been proven that funders like (billionaire George) Soros and the Democrat party have paid protest organizers and some protesters, groups like the violent Black Bloc typically aren’t motivated by money, but instead come to protests because of their anti-American ideology, base criminal desires and thrill seeking.”

Opponents of President-elect Donald Trump’s have accused him of “inspiring violence” and bringing out the worst in people. Wrong. The active and passive sponsors of left-wing political mayhem are the ones guilty of enabling it over the past quarter-century. Restoring peace and justice starts with restoring law and order. Either you’re against the rule of the mob or you’re with it.

With the goal of driving the inauguration of Donald Trump on Friday inside the Capitol, a group calling itself Disrupt J20 plotted to use violent means to shut down intersections and train lines in Washington, D.C., and even to plant a stink bomb at an inauguration-eve party, two undercover Project Veritas videos have revealed.

Worksheet on ‘Sharia Law’ Irks School Parents

Parents in Southern Indiana are upset by a middle school worksheet’s portrayal of “Sharia law,” which they say casts the Islamic code in a positive light while ignoring human rights violations and the oppression of women.

Ontario’s Crisis of Unaffordable Energy

It’s important to recognize the high electricity prices in Ontario are not simply the result of forces beyond our control — this is not caused by some global spike in fuel prices.

Rather, misguided policy choices have contributed greatly to price increases.

Consider Ontario’s Green Energy Act (GEA) of 2009, which contributed to higher energy prices by guaranteeing rates above market prices for wind and solar powered electricity.

A recent report from Ontario’s auditor general showed that in 2014, Ontario’s guaranteed prices for renewable energy were about twice as high as the average cost paid in the United States for wind, and three times the American average price for solar.

The predictable consequence is that we’ve wound up paying an awful lot of money for not much power, driving prices even higher.

Crucially, many of the policies that have pushed electricity prices skyward have been enacted in the name of environmental protection.

Of course, protecting the environment is an important government responsibility.

But governments should meet this responsibility in smart, cost-effective ways.

Recent policy choices by Ontario governments failed these tests.

Biggest 2017 Threat for Sweden is ‘Lone Wolf’ Islamist Attacks — Report

Individual attacks performed by radicalized Islamists is considered the biggest threat in Sweden for 2017, according to country’s special security force report.

The document was compiled by Nationellt Centrum För Terrorhotbedömning (NCT), a group consisting of staff from Sweden’s security police.

The report named Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) the main threat, but notes that terrorist attacks are likely to be carried out by someone inspired by the terrorist groups’ actions, rather than orchestrated by an organization.

Germany’s New Propaganda Bureau

Officials in Germany’s Interior Ministry are urging Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière to establish a “Defense Center against Disinformation” (Abwehrzentrum gegen Desinformation) to combat what they call “political disinformation,” a euphemism for “fake news.”

“The acceptance of a post-truth age would amount to political capitulation,” the officials toldMaizière in a memo, which also disclosed that the bureaucrats at the Interior Ministry are eager to see “authentic political communication” remain “defining for the 21st century.”

One wonders whether by “authentic political communication,” the officials of the Interior Ministry are referring to the way German authorities scrambled to cover up the mass sexual attacks on women on New Year’s Eve a year ago in Cologne? At the time, German police first claimed, surreally, on the morning of January 1, 2016, that the situation on New Year’s Eve had been “relaxed.” Cologne Police Chief Wolfgang Albers later dryly admitted, “This initial statement was incorrect.” Alternatively, perhaps they are referring to the decision of Germany’s public broadcaster, ZDF, not to report on the attacks until four days after they had occurred? Even a former government official, Hans-Peter Friedrich, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Interior Minister from 2011 to 2013, accused the media at the time of imposing a “news blackout” and operating a “code of silence” over negative news about immigrants. How is that for “authentic political communication”?

Merkel Says She’s Ready to ‘Fight a Generational Battle’ With Trump to Preserve Liberal Democracy and Trade

Shortly after Germany retaliated to Trump’s overnight press attack, when German economy minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Monday morning that Germans would gladly buy US automobiles if only America could “build better cars”, and that — responding to Trump’s criticism of Germany’s “catastrophic” refugee policy — he said there “is a link between America’s flawed interventionist policy, especially the Iraq war, and the [European] refugee crisis”, Merkel fired her own shot across the bow of Trump’s proposed protectionism, when she told industry leaders late on Monday that she would remain committed to free trade, rebutting Trump’s comments about a border taxes on car imports.

Taking advantage of the anti-populist wave stirred by Trump, Merkel, speaking to the German Chamber of Commence and Industry in Cologne, urged industry leaders to remain supportive of the German government in the forthcoming Brexit negotiations between Britain and the European Union. “We can’t let anyone divide us,” she said quoted by Reuters.

As far as free trade and open markets go, Merkel told the industrialists her government was prepared to fight to preserve them.

“We’ve got to fight this battle, if for no other reason than principle,” Merkel said, referring to Germany’s commitment to the free trade, and asking German business to “join her in defending liberal democracy and trade”, saying “in every generation one has to fight for one’s ideals.”

“I’m ready for that,” Merkel added.

“I have the impression that we are once again at a crossroads,” Merkel tells a business chamber gala in Cologne, hinting at an ideological crusade to rid the world of backward-looking protectionists.

How the U.S. Enabled ISIS to Take Deir Ezzor

The city of Deir Ezzor (Deir ez-Zur) in east-Syria is on the verge of falling into the hands of the Takfiris of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). More than 100,000 civilian inhabitants of Deir Ezzor and thousands of soldiers defending them are in immediate danger of being murdered by the savage ISIS forces. The current situation is a direct consequence of U.S. military action against the SAA and non-action against ISIS.

Deir Ezzor is besieged by ISIS since September 2015. But the city was well defended by its garrison of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and all further attacks by ISIS were repelled. Supply to the city was hauled in by air through the Deir Ezzor airport and through air drops by the Syrian and Russian airforces. Relief by ground forces and ground supplies are not possible as Deir Ezzor is more than 100 km away from the nearest SAA positions west of Palmyra and as the desert in between is under the control of ISIS.

Four days ago a new attack by ISIS on Deir Ezzor was launched and has since continued. ISIS reinforcements and resupplies had come over months despite air interdiction from the Russian and Syrian airforces. Yesterday ISIS managed to cut off the airport, where the local SAA command and its main supplies are hosted, from the city proper. It is now attacking in full force from all sides. Bad weather makes air support from the outside sporadic and difficult. Unless some unforeseen happens it is only a question of time until the airport and the city fall to ISIS.

The U.S. has condoned and/or even actively supported the imminent ISIS taking of Deir Ezzor by (at least) three measures:

a massive U.S. air attack on SAA forces in September 2016 enabled ISIS to take a controlling position and to cut off SAA resupplies a U.S. attack against a power station in January disabled the last electricity supplies to the city U.S. non-intervention enabled ISIS reinforcements from Mosul and west Iraq to Deir Ezzor in east-Syria

All Aboard the China-to-London Freight Train

It’s not on a boat, it’s not on a plane, it’s on a train. The newest way to send your freight from China to Europe involves spending 15 days on a train that doesn’t have a buffet car in sight.

On 3 January in Yiwu in eastern China, a bright orange locomotive pulling 44 containers laden with suitcases, clothes and an assortment of household goods set off on a 7,500-mile (12,000km) journeyto western Europe.

Ten containers were taken off at the German cargo hub of Duisburg. The rest made up the first cargo train from China to arrive in London at Barking’s Eurohub freight terminal.

London is the 15th European city to find its way on to the ever-expanding map of destinations for China’s rail cargo. Last year, 1,702 freight trains made the voyage to Europe, more than double the 2015 figure.

Communist Chinese Move to Fill Global Leadership Role

Global elite join hands with communists

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s strong defense of globalization at a speech at the World Economic Forum was depicted here as an effort to fill a vacuum being created by the U.S. stepping back from a global leadership role.

Mr. Xi was seen as reacting to growing concerns that the incoming U.S. administration of Donald Trump would shift the world’s largest economy toward protectionism.

He also acknowledged that while economic globalization had boosted global wealth, the consequence had also been growing inequalities.

John Kerry’s Return to Vietnam

With mere days remaining in office, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry returned to Southeast Asia to reminisce with his Communist friends and ideological soulmates in Vietnam.

He was welcomed with open arms in Vietnam, still a Communist dictatorship after all these decades. And why shouldn’t he be? He’s one of the reasons the United States lost the war there.

Kerry’s vicious lies about the behavior of the U.S. military during the Vietnam War launched a thousand draft-card burning ceremonies.

It’s a wonder he wasn’t awarded the Vietnamese equivalent of America’s Presidential Medal of Freedom for his service to Vietnamese Communism.

Throughout his adult life, Kerry has instinctively sided with America’s enemies. After serving in the Vietnam War, Kerry made a long, profitable career out of bashing America, insulting and belittling U.S. troops — even going as far as promoting false stories about them committing war atrocities, and aiding hostile foreign powers.

In 2005, Kerry falsely accused U.S. forces of “terrorizing” the Iraqi people. He Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation”: “And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women…”

A liar and a useful idiot whose Botox obsession has turned his face into a Halloween mask, Kerry is the man who sent American singer James Taylor to France to sing soothing songs to the French people after brutal Muslim terrorist attacks while refusing to acknowledge the attackers were Muslim.

Obama Lifts Sudan Sanctions While President Bashir Perpetrates Jihad

Lt. General Abakar M. Abdullah and Jerry Gordon

Add to the list of foreign policy failures by the departing Obama Administration is his last minute executive order partially lifting sanctions on agricultural and transportation trade. It also unfreezes assets in the US of the corrupt regime of indicted war criminal President Omar Bashir. The sanctions for Darfur will remain with the only condition left to the incoming Trump Administration a so-called 180 day ‘look back’ provision that might ‘snap back’ sanctions. The move by the Obama administration was “welcomed” by the Arab League in a Qatar Tribune report. This was a dramatic ‘sea change’ from a President Obama who campaigned during his 2008 election on “ending the slaughter in Darfur.”

US UN Ambassador Samantha Power rationalized the lifting of economic sanctions, imposed since 1997, at her farewell press conference, saying there was “progress on counterterrorism and cease fires.” She attributed ‘progress’ on counterterrorism to Sudan ending its harboring of the murderous child soldier movement of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). All while evidence mounted in reports of New Year’s attacks by the Bashir regime’s Jihadist militia in Darfur, the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile region. These actions breached cease fires, threatening a renewal of ethnic cleansing of indigenous peoples and fomenting monumental humanitarian crises…

They are being questioned through an interpreter of the Pashto language, one of Afghanistan’s official languages. They reportedly wanted to get to Germany or to Belgium.

Muslim Translators Are Deliberately Mistranslating Migrants Who Convert to Christianity to Get Them Deported, Claims German Pastor

Iranian and Afghani migrants converting to Christianity after arriving in Germany are having their words deliberately misquoted by Muslim translators in a bid to ruin their asylum applications, a pastor in Berlin has claimed.

Converting to Christianity greatly boosts a migrant’s chances of winning asylum by allowing them to claim they would face persecution if sent home to a Muslim country.

Vote Bans Cops From Taking Part in Pride Parade

A raucous and aggressive group of gays and lesbians voted at the Pride AGM Tuesday night to capitulate to Black Lives Matter (BLM) Toronto and ban police from marching or participating in future parades.

But asked after the vote whether Pride Toronto still welcomes the free police security offered to the yearly parade and other events, board co-chair Alica Hall told me “of course.”

(In 2016, Toronto taxpayers subsidized Pride with $512,000 worth of free police security. That figure does not include the cost of pay-duty police, which is subject to privacy laws.)

Brain Study Reveals Why Society is So Easily Controlled by Politics — Differing Views Seen as ‘Threats’

A new scientific study shows why people readily abandon rationality for political beliefs. It also underscores how well Establishment forces have been able to push the populace into an ‘us vs. them’ mindset.

Researchers at the Brain and Creativity Institute used functional MRI — a revolutionary technique that maps the brain by coupling cerebral blood flow and neuronal activation — to find out what happens in the brain on politics.

“When people’s political beliefs are challenged, their brains become active in areas that govern personal identity and emotional responses to threats, neuroscientists have found.”

This would certainly explain how a hyper-partisan atmosphere breeds knee-jerk hostility, and agreement on anything becomes out of reach.

Not Moderate; Not Radical: Simply Islam

I remember several years ago reading the words of the late and much missed Dr. Conor Cruise O’Brien. The good doctor was referring to the erroneous belief that there is such a thing as moderate Islam set against radical Islam.

This eminent statesman known as “the Cruiser” was one of the most remarkable scholars, historians, authors, intellectuals and politicians that modern Ireland ever produced. O’Brien who was born in Dublin in 1917 and who died in 2008, declared that for the past two centuries Islam has been dominated by the “House of War” (dar al-Islam) which calls for unremitting warfare against all non-Muslims.

He pointed out that it is intolerable to Muslims that Islam is not ascendant enough and that the remedy is jihad, not the struggle for inner peace that Muslim apologists falsely claim, but rather the violent struggle against non-believers which is a religious obligation imposed by Mohammad upon all Muslims.

  1. “Record numbers of Hungarian secondary school students are signing up to join the new border patrol service as soon as they finish school.”
Of course, good income, excellent benefits and as perk you can capture muslims and boot them back where they come from. What’s not to like?

  2. 1984. That is all I can think. It is so […] depressing that to take news not read about all the turmoil and heartbreak in the news. at some point it really becomes too much.

Baron and Dmpnha I don’t know how you do it but I admire you for your bravery and courage.

Would that I had such, but with a stroke victim for a husband and other problems, I just want to hide n the closet. Except it’s full of shoes so no room for me.

Well, we all do what we can do. All I can do is contribute funds to you and you will find a check from me soon. Keep up the good work. someone has to do it and not all of us are capable of doing it. Thank you so much for “doing” it!

    • I agree with you, Maria_dee. The world news is quite depressing. But a look at world history shows war to be the norm and the pockets of “peace” in America are not the norm for much of human history. Our technology for war has greatly improved, though.

For comparison between the past and present, here’s a list of the wars in Europe:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_conflicts_in_Europe

A prefatory note before the list (which starts in BC) says:

This is a list of conflicts in Europe ordered chronologically, including wars between European nations, civil wars within European nations, wars between a European nation and a non-European nation that took place within Europe, and global conflicts in which Europe was a theatre of war.

Of that seemingly endless list, fewer than 10 are not hyperlinked to a fuller explanation of the particulars. You could spend some weeks just clicking the links there and reading about each one listed.
      ————————————–
      There is another list,

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outline_of_war#History_of_war

showing the various kinds of warfare technology human beings have developed and utilized over thousands of years. Come to think of it, a factoid about Islam that I read well before 9/11 (perhaps in Mark Twain’s work somewhere) asserted that the only thing Islam ever wanted from the West was its war weapons…or things they could turn into weapons, like, say, cell phones.

[A tangential point: the first printing press allowed into Islam didn’t happen until 1841 when Iran ordered one that was to be used solely for mass printing the Koran.]

Maria_dee, it’s inherent in the human condition: war – and the poor – will always be with us. These are two sad truths conservatives have long known, but liberals refuse to accept. For the latter, a central delusion has always been the notion that mankind can be perfected.

Liberals will never accept the reality of human nature even though science long ago figured out that our species is born far too soon – i.e., born long before we are able to communicate our basic needs to those on whom we are forced to depend because of our infant dependence on others to keep us alive. Thus it is that we can simultaneously love and hate our parents: because their attempts to meet our needs will sometimes fail. Fortunately for parents, we only need be (a) “good enough” to raise our kids and, (b) resilient enough to accept our mistakes.

Fortunate is the child who understands his parents’ good faith intentions towards him.

War is a natural state, my dear. Always has been and always will be. “Peace”, however brief, seems miraculous. Our problem in America is that we’ve been insulated by those two huge oceans which serve to keep Europe’s problems in Europe. Poor Europe doesn’t have our luxury of isolation.

War has arrived again on our continent, this time in the form of isolated acts of terrorism. It will get worse, far worse before it gets better. And even when it’s “better”, strife and conflict will continue. Once we accept the hard truth that aggression is not a bug in our system but a feature of human existence, the less likely will it be that full-scale war will ever blossom here again. But don’t count on it.

Since you’re a Christian, Maria_dee, perhaps you can take heart from a definition of Christian belief that one of my theology professors told the class. We’d been studying the rationale for the ‘war’ that flourished between Paul and the Jerusalem Church – at least it flourished until 70 AD, when Rome destroyed the temple – see here…

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Jerusalem_(AD_70)

Usually, no matter how much I’d like to remember quotes they’re in one ear and out the other. But this one has stayed down the years:

For me, Christianity means that love is possible, evil is reversible, and I can live freed from my past.

That doesn’t free me from conflict, though.
