Tommy Robinson: “This Has to Stop”

In this excellent rant, Tommy Robinson — the former leader of the EDL, and now one of the leaders of PEGIDA UK — talks about recent events in Cologne, as well as what happened in Rotherham and other culturally enriched locations in Europe.

In this clip Tommy talks about his plan to participate in the Silent Walk in Birmingham on February 6. However, given today’s announcement that police plan to re-arrest him, chances are he will be sidelined until after the Europe-wide demonstrations that day — after which the charges will undoubtedly be dropped:

The New Leadership of PEGIDA UK

Yesterday the new leadership of PEGIDA in the United Kingdom held a press conference to talk about their plans for upcoming events and answer questions from the media.

The new leaders:

Tommy Robinson was a co-founder of the English Defence League, and has spent eleven months in prison on trumped-up politically motivated charges.

Anne Marie Waters is the founder of Sharia Watch UK and a former UKIP candidate for Parliament.

Paul Weston is the chairman of Liberty GB. His website is here, and his political Facebook page here. For his essays, see the Paul Weston archives.

During the question and answer period after the leaders’ statements, Tommy was asked about the likely response of the authorities to the launch of PEGIDA UK. It’s only been one day since then, but we already know what the response will be: Tommy is facing arrest. Or, more accurately, re-arrest.

The last time Tommy was in prison, a Somali inmate tried to attack him with boiling water. Tommy was charged for his response to that attempt (he fought back), but the charges were later dropped.

Now those charges are being revived. According to The International Business Times:

Ezra Levant Interviews Tommy Robinson

On New Year’s Day Ezra Levant of TheRebel.media interviewed Tommy Robinson, the former leader of the English Defence League. Tommy has just published a book, Enemy of the State, which tells the story of his efforts to resist the Islamization of Britain, and the trying consequences his stance has had for himself and his family.

Ezra Levant’s long introduction presents material that will be familiar to most readers, including video clips of some of the arrests and violence directed at Tommy. The second half of the program features Mr. Levant’s skype discussion with Tommy:

Tommy Robinson’s “Enemy of the State”: Chapter 17

Thanks to our commenter, dev, for the information that Tommy Robinson’s book is available now in the U.S. on Kindle.

Tommy Robinson: Enemy of the State

I’ve barely begun Enemy but did promise I’d report on Chapter 17, titled simply “Quilliam”.

First of all, anything I say here has to be with the proviso that I’ve not read the preceding sixteen chapters. Thus I will no doubt be less-than-accurate in my appraisal.

Second, I’d taken in with great interest what the Baron said about his meetings with Tommy during his visit to London. He found TR to be intelligent, genuine, personable, and harried, constantly on the go. It seemed to him that everyone wanted a piece of Tommy and not all of those waiting for their own personal pound of flesh were well-intentioned. He (the Baron) worried that Tommy wouldn’t survive.

I’ve often contemplated what the Baron said on returning home. Especially did I think about Tommy when he was in prison on those trumped-up charges. It hurt my heart to think what he must be enduring as he worried about the lives and welfare of his children while he rotted in gaol. Every time I read some piece by Douglas Murray or the other middle class toffs who can speak with impunity, it made me even angrier, sadder. England was sinking beneath a sea of Islamic slime and no one really cared except for the few patriots who paid a steep price for their loyalty to a country that doesn’t exist anymore.

Why is Tommy’s flogging so up close and personal, so relentless? Because whether he likes it or not, he’s charismatic. People find him personally appealing in part because he goes more than halfway in liking them first. How can you resist someone who so obviously wants to like you? Tommy Robinson has the Irish genius for people, and those in charge recognize how dangerous that can be when embodied in a man like this. If he were middle class he’d be leading a revolution. If he had money, he’d be doing serious damage to the GroupThink that is English politics today.

But he’s poor — the police have taken his bank accounts and destroyed his business, effectively impoverishing him — so he’s at the mercy of the Whim Theory under which government operates.

That’s all I knew before beginning Chapter 17 on Quilliam. If I’ve read the chapter correctly, both parties had something the other wanted. Quilliam wanted to get the credit for “converting” Tommy and being the party responsible for his leaving the EDL. When he did leave, they crowed about having decapitated the English Defence League. They pretended ignorance when he bellowed in response to their wording. Lee Rigby had just been decapitated at the time, didn’t they realize what they were saying?? His ire was waved away: it was just a word.

In return for publicly aligning himself with Quilliam, they promised to support his wife and children while he was in prison. But after a couple of months they cut their support drastically, not giving his family enough to survive while he served his time. Back then he thought he’d be in prison for years, so their failure to follow through disturbed him deeply. As it turned out, he was let go early so the question of “support” became moot.

He begins Chapter 17 this way:

“This Current Immigration is an Invasion”

It was a year ago this week that PEGIDA was born in Dresden, and its first anniversary march and rally took place tonight. 40,000 people reportedly showed up for the occasion, filling up Theaterplatz square in front of the Opera House to listen to the speakers. Tommy Robinson, the founder of the English Defence League, was a surprise guest-speaker at the event.

The recorded live feed from the demonstration is here; look for Tommy’s speech at 2:27:07.

The Daily Mail has extensive coverage of tonight’s demonstration in Dresden, with numerous excellent photos. Below are excerpts:

‘Do not let Germany be dragged back to chaos and destruction’: EDL founder Tommy Robinson speaks to 40,000 strong crowd at the Pegida anti-immigrant rally in Germany

The founder of the EDL has addressed a 40,000-strong crowd in Dresden tonight, as Germany’s far-right celebrates the first anniversary of the anti-refugee group Pegida.

Tommy Robinson, who set up and led the English Defence League, looked out over the crowd of tens of thousands of Germans as police braced themselves for violence.

Despite quitting the far-right group two years ago, after a realisation that his group was ‘part of the problem’, this is Robinson’s second appearance at a Pegida rally this week after appearing at a Pegida anti-Islam rally in Holland last weekend.

The 32-year-old told the assembled crowd: ‘Do not let Germany be dragged back to chaos and destruction. All of your progress is now threatened.

‘Your current chancellor, Angela Merkel, seems to be handing out the birth right of German citizens like she is handing out candy to children.’

“We Stand Together to Save Our Culture, Save Our Countries, and Save Our Future”

“Now is the moment and now is the time. Europe is now ready.”

Tommy Robinson, the former leader of the English Defence League, paid a visit to Utrecht yesterday. He met up there with leaders of Dutch PEGIDA, and Lutz Bachmann, the founder of German PEGIDA.

Below is a video of Tommy’s rousing speech at the demonstration in Utrecht. The sound quality is not the best, but you’ll get the gist with no problem:

Anne Marie Waters: Response to Ridiculous Claims of HnH

Anne Marie Waters is the founder of Sharia Watch and one of the leading organizers of the Draw Mohammed event coming up in London on September 18. The left-wing establishment in Britain seems to be alarmed by Ms. Waters’ successful counterjihad activism, and has sicced its fice dog, HOPE not hate, on her.

Anne Marie Waters has now published a response to the coordinated attacks against her. The following essay was originally published at Sharia Watch.

Response to ridiculous claims of “Hope Not Hate”

by Anne Marie Waters

When people become newly involved in political campaigning, particularly any kind involving Islam, they often do so with apprehension. Many are afraid of violence, or of being labelled a racist and therefore ostracised, and they invariably fear losing their jobs. This fear is partly caused by deceitful, and particularly nasty, attacks from people and groups on the extreme left. The left’s attacks on its opponents can be venomous. It’s important to note that I said attacks on its opponents there, because rarely do leftists trouble themselves with political discussion of issues actually raised, nor does it often concern itself about whether or not the ammunition it will use for its attack contains any truth.

So today I was left with the rather tedious job of picking apart a little bundle of lies produced by the hate-spreading extreme-left organisation that so ironically calls itself “Hope Not Hate”.

The lies began early, as did Hope Not Hate’s directions as to what we are and are not allowed to say about Islam. The report is built on one acutely egregious lie — that I, and others, are using the Mohammed Exhibition deliberately to whip up violence and incite “civil war”.

This is all based on a post by a member of a group called Knights Templar International. He wrote of a meeting he had had with myself, Tommy Robinson and Alan Lake. That meeting did take place – to talk about building a website (which I believe the writer does for a living). If there was any talk of “civil war’, then it will have been by way of conversation, not some cartoon-like plot. In any case, aren’t people allowed to speculate on the potential for civil war?

Regardless of what people do or don’t believe about war in this country is irrelevant to the fact that we were there to talk about a website. There is no evidence whatsoever that I have ever called for, or endorsed, civil war (and if Mr Lowles has some, I suggest he produce it). I have never done so in private or in public, because it is not what I believe in or want. It is to avoid violence that I am keen to include voices that are not being heard because they are not approved of by the left.

The Mohammed Cartoon Exhibit was organised by me, in partnership with Vive Charlie. It has nothing to do with Alan Lake, or Tommy Robinson, and they have no involvement in it whatsoever.

The entire Hope Not Hate report is a self-declared “expose” of something that never happened. I was not “involved in discussions” about civil war, this is pathetic and desperate. I was going to work with Tommy Robinson on Sharia Watch, because he represents a large voice that is ignored by the state; usually at the insistence of groups like Hope Not Hate. If we can agonise over what drives to people to join ISIS, why can’t we talk to people about why they join the EDL? Why don’t we discuss their legitimate and sincerely-held concerns?

Their desperation to smear me has meant that, as usual, their report is full of quotes from other people — but where are mine? And do they have any response to the points I raise or the facts I state?

The “profile’ of me is particularly amusing — they can’t get even the smallest facts right. I don’t know how many times I have to say this, but I stood down from the Basildon and Billericay seat. Again, I stood down, I was not removed. That fact is easy enough to confirm. I did not “introduce” Tommy Robinson at a Passion for Freedom event, the organisers did (I wasn’t one of the organisers, as claimed). I was on the same panel, I too was introduced. More lies include that I have been “speaking regularly at EDL demonstrations”. Presumably Mr Lowles, you can point me to one occasion then? I have never spoken at an EDL rally, which I suspect you know very well.

Particularly disgusting is the photo on page 17 with a caption stating that I, and others, were caught “confronting a Muslim who objected to their speeches”. I remember this man, and he agreed with us. Our “confrontation’ was a in fact a friendly conversation.

Groups like Hope Not Hate are incredibly sinister and dangerous for quite a few reasons. So utterly convinced are they that their totalitarian vision of the world is what’s best for all of us, they do not question the morality of activities they undertake. Their sole consideration is on how much damage they can inflict on to those who disagree with them. Disagreeing with a leftist vision for the world is an unpardonable sin, as Maryam Namazie knows well. Maryam really ought to spend a bit more time wondering why on earth the voluntary life-span of OLFA volunteers is usually so short.

Some extreme left groups, like Hope Not Hate, pretend to care about Islamists and to condemn them. They also believe they are owed congratulations for this. It is easy to condemn beheadings, but until there is condemnation of the fact that a woman’s testimony is worth half of a man’s, or recognition of the nature of the awful Muslim Brotherhood, the position of these groups cannot be taken even remotely seriously.

Hope Not Hate has called for the Mohammed cartoon exhibit to be banned. Of course it has, its members believe that only political campaigning they approve of should get the light of day.

Extreme leftists despise democracy and routinely interrupt the democratic process. They cannot allow voices like mine to be heard (just in case people might agree with us) so instead of facing up to the points raised, or the facts stated, they attack speakers and intimidate people in to not listening.

It’s really got to be understood that the extreme left in Britain represents a real threat to political freedom. They have defined the parameters of speech and a have a tied-and-tested weapon against all who dare to dispute them.

My own thought is that the best way to deal with groups like Hope Not Hate is to make sure they have no bearing on my decisions whatsoever. I won’t let them dictate who I can speak to about a website, or who I can work with on Sharia Watch. Being directed by the lies of groups like this is not an option. I know what my motivations are, and I don’t give a damn what smears Hope Not Hate decides to conjure up.

In the face of their lies, there is only one thing that I, and all who agree with me, can do — carry on.

In Britain’s Aftermath, a Voice from the Rubble…

The newsletter below arrived in our email today. “Britain First” is one of those groups found in any polity that finds itself in the throes of fracturing and breakdown. This sudden “unity” under Prime Minister Cameron may be surprising, but it is not the result of a vigorous electorate or a free public sphere.

We have groups like Britain First here in America, too, and for the same reasons. These are the disaffected who have had the temerity to speak up, only to find themselves kicked to the curb (kerb) or ejected into the outer darkness where they are supposed to stay and — above all — shut up. If I remember correctly, BF was one of those groups which grew out of the screws being turned on the British National Party until it finally cracked under the strain. Britain excels at these tactics; perhaps because all the ornery DNA has either left for colonial lands or has been killed off in two utterly ruinous “world” wars. Those who followed after them don’t appear to value the same things as those whose places they took. Remnants of England are merely that: remnants.

Tommy Robinson an example of someone who was made to shut up and sit down. He was forcibly separated by Britain’s “justice” system from his own English Defence League. Once a group is essentially decapitated in such a manner, it will live on for a while but the charism that breathes life and spirit into a group will eventually be but an echo. The group will fracture and fade without ever having had an opportunity to grow to maturity. England tried that with the colonials but they were separated by time and distance so the punishments they devised couldn’t quite be made to stick effectively. [Tommy Robinson was born too late; he would have made a fine leader in the American Revolution.]

Britain today appears to be owned by powerful interests who make sure nothing of substance can grow in its toxic political soil. That’s how it looks to outsiders. The owners — whoever those shadows are — decide who will be permitted to run for national office. If they want to generate an ominous “atmosphere” they can. Thus voters scurry toward safety, just as they do here in the U.S.

In Britain, can all those native Brits who have been harmed by the massive numbers of non-British immigrants ever believe in justice again? Much harm occurred on Mr. Cameron’s watch; to see him take utter control gives one pause — are we waiting for Lord Acton to speak? In the aftermath, it grows quiet; there isn’t much left to be said, is there? Everyone resigned and left the room to the exultant Mr. Cameron. With the whole field vanquished, with Scotland set to sail, what will become of Britain?

On that note — which may be the wrong one since the tendency to project one’s own situation onto others is always a question in any “analysis” — here is the newsletter from Britain First’s chairman:

As I predicted yesterday, UKIP failed to make a breakthrough into Parliament.

They managed to secure only one seat, despite attracting around 4 million votes, which in itself is a colossal success.

I explained that the “first past the post” system strongly inhibited the chances of up and coming parties to break through into Parliament.

What is even worse is the way the UKIP leadership have handled the expectations of their supporters.

Nigel Farage backed himself into a corner by saying he would resign if he didn’t win in South Thanet, then lost, then resigned.

Right up until election day, UKIP officials overestimated their chances without a thought for the consequences.

Without the charisma, talent and personality of Nigel Farage at the held UKIP will now go into a steep decline and move further to the “Left” to appease the “Centre Ground”.

Without Farage at the helm, UKIP are doomed.

What was in essence just a single battle in a long war of attrition against the establishment, UKIP billed as a boom or bust “last chance” election.

Free at Last — For Twenty Minutes

I first met Geert Wilders in person back in February 2009 at an event hosted by Sen. John Kyl of Arizona (now retired) at the Lyndon B. Johnson Room in the U.S. Capitol. Two years later I encountered him again in Nashville, Tennessee under the auspices of the Tennessee Freedom Coalition.

Yesterday afternoon it was my privilege to be invited to another Geert Wilders event, this one a speech and reception in the Rayburn Building on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Mr. Wilders had been invited to speak by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), and was introduced by Rep. Steve King (R-IA).

Before he spoke, Mr. Wilders mingled with the audience and conversed with some of the people who had come to hear him. I was able to talk to him for a couple of minutes, and he told me that he was aware of our work at Gates of Vienna, and was grateful for it. It had been almost four years since I had last seen him, but he looked exactly the same — buoyant, upbeat, and full of optimism, as always.

During his speech he expanded on some of his recent remarks, notably those last week in the Dutch parliament concerning the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean and the “Australian model” for sending the immigrants back. However, it was his opening anecdote that made the most impression on me. It was off-the-cuff, heartfelt, and even more buoyant than his usual statements.

Earlier that afternoon Mr. Wilders had attended a joint session of Congress in honor (I think) of the Japanese ambassador Prime Minister. During the course of the event, he was invited by a senator to look in on the Senate chamber (if I remember correctly). In order to do so, his security detail had to stay behind, and he had to surrender his phones.

He chatted with the senator for a while, who then said good-bye and left. Mr. Wilders looked around and realized that he was all by himself, with no idea of where he was. No bodyguards — and no phone!

He wandered down a hallway until he came to an exit, and walked outside into the sunlight, into a beautiful spring day in Washington D.C. As it happened, he was on the opposite side of the building from the door he had entered through, and completely by himself. By himself!

LBC Interview With Tommy Robinson

As reported here previously, Tommy Robinson, the founder and former leader of the English Defence League, caused an uproar over the weekend by making public secret video recordings of conversations with a Tory politician named Afzal Amin. Mr. Amin, with the help of a wealthy backer, had offered money to Mr. Robinson and the EDL for their help in the upcoming election.

The following interview with Tommy Robinson aired earlier today on LBC Radio in the UK. In it you’ll hear the former EDL leader discuss the “money man” behind Afzal Amin, his offer to take care of Mr. Robinson financially, and the apparent corruption of the British police:

Corrupt Tories, Corrupt Police

As reported here last night, Tommy Robinson secretly videotaped a Muslim political candidate for the Tories attempting to “buy the EDL”, and offered to set Mr. Robinson up for the rest of his life if he helped him out.

In the following brief call to a BBC TV program, Tommy Robinson discusses Afzal Amin and the shadowy figure who finances him, and also the corruption of the British police:

EDL for Hire? No Way!

Tommy Robinson, the former leader of the English Defence League, and the current EDL leader Steve Eddowes exposed a prominent Muslim Tory politician attempting to make a corrupt (and illegal) deal with the English Defence League.

Afzal Amin, a Conservative candidate for Dudley North, told Messrs. Robinson and Eddowes that he wanted the EDL to announce a fake demo in Dudley that the candidate could take credit for stopping. He also proposed hiring EDL members to canvass on his behalf in Dudley.

Unbeknownst to Mr. Amin, Tommy Robinson recorded last Monday’s restaurant meeting. The Daily Mail obtained a copy of the video and published it tonight for a Sunday scoop:

Exposed: Star Tory candidate plotted with race thugs to stage fake EDL demo in cynical bid to win votes

A key Tory Election candidate was suspended last night after plotting with far-Right extremists to stir up racial hatred in a cynical bid to win votes.

Afzal Amin hatched a scheme to persuade the English Defence League to announce an inflammatory march against a new £18million ‘mega-mosque’. But — as he revealed in secretly filmed footage obtained by The Mail on Sunday — the plan was that the demonstration would never actually go ahead.

And when the phoney rally was called off, the fiercely ambitious Amin, a Muslim, intended to take credit for defusing the situation — winning over voters, and police, in the marginal seat of Dudley North.

In return for going along with the scheme, the former Army captain promised the EDL members he would be their ‘unshakeable ally’ who would help bring their extreme views into the mainstream if he was elected to Parliament.

Amin also wanted EDL members to be paid to canvass on his behalf in Dudley — against election law.

Two-Tier Justice and the Suppression of Free Speech

Last November Tommy Robinson appeared at the Oxford Union, speaking and taking questions from the audience for more than an hour. The UAF and related groups were on hand outside the venue to protest the fact that a “racist” was being allowed to speak.

Below is an excerpt from the back-and-forth discussion at the Union. In it you’ll notice that Mr. Robinson feels severely constrained in his ability to answer the questions fully, due to the conditions imposed on him by his early release from prison:

The full-length video of Tommy Robinson’s appearance at the Oxford Union is available here.

A Typical Week in Dhimmi Britain

Prompted by last Sunday’s culturally-enriched gathering at Downing Street, Paul Weston sends the following observations on the dire situation of Modern Multicultural Britain.

A Typical Week in Dhimmi Britain
by Paul Weston

It is amazing — in a rather horrifying way — to track the antics of the Religion of Peace in what was once Great Britain. News over the last few days serve only to reinforce my belief that British politicians and media journalists have already submitted before Allah, or have large off-shore bank accounts bulging with treacherous blood money as a reward for betraying their country.

If this sounds a bit far-fetched, consider the peculiar behaviour exhibited by our supposedly impartial journalists over the weekend. The EDL held a march in Dudley on Saturday, protesting about the building of yet another mega-mosque which the vast majority of local people are firmly against. Some 1,000 plus patriotic Brits turned out for the event. A peaceful march ensued and a number of speakers outlined why it was not really a good idea to add another propaganda centre for Islam in the town.

Around fifty delightful young chaps from David Cameron’s UAF friends and Antifa also turned out, all dressed in black with balaclavas thoughtfully covering their scowling and hate-contorted faces lest cameras catch their violent behaviour carried out in the name of “anti-racism” — which is something of a misnomer when one considers the virulent racial hatred they feel toward the native British.

Of these fifty upstanding examples of decency and compassion, thirty were arrested (see video) after they attacked the police. Curiously though, all the media headlines were along the lines of “Thirty arrested at EDL demonstration in Dudley”, leading the low-information reader to assume all those arrested were from the EDL. In point of fact, no EDL supporters were arrested at all.

The Birmingham Mail was guilty of blatant propaganda here, but rather foolishly allowed their comment board to remain open. Within a few hours hundreds of people pointed out their story was a tissue of lies and disinformation. Some questioned the ethics of modern day Birmingham Mail journalists and publicly mused as to whether the propaganda they pumped out was in line with the integrity one expects from those who purportedly exist to tell us the unvarnished truth.

Having been caught in-flagrante as it were, the Birmingham Mail took the only course of action available to such an honourable edifice of truth telling… and deleted all the comments whilst making no attempt whatsoever to edit the article in order to reflect truth and objectivity. The editor is a chap called David Brookes who may be contacted at David.Brookes@trinitymirror.com should readers wish to drop him a line…

On Sunday another demonstration occurred, this time held by thousands of Muslims outside Prime Minister David Cameron’s temporary London pied-a-terre in Downing Street. Some people have noticed how hard it is to get large numbers of Muslims onto British streets to state “Not In My Name” regarding paedophile rape gangs, beheaders of British soldiers or blowers-up of London tube trains, and sure enough this large gathering had nothing to say about such errant Muslim behaviour. They were more concerned about abolishing free speech you see, particularly with regard to free speech about lovely, peaceful old Mo by those rascals at Charlie Hebdo magazine.
