Make Room! Make Room!

Now that the latest wave of Afghan “refugees” has reached Germany, there is an urgent need for new accommodations at migrant reception facilities.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from PolitikStube:

Also in Baden-Württemberg: All initial reception facilities are jam-packed

Not only in Brandenburg and Saxony, but also in Baden-Württemberg, the initial reception facilities are fully occupied. Those who offer the best social benefits also get the most care-seekers, although there may not be a need for help when the trip to Germoney leads through umpteen safe third countries, some of which are handsomely rewarded. This asylum package tourism is likely to intensify with the new red-green government and the yellow appendage, at least until the pressure-cooker lid blows up.

Zeit online:

The initial reception facilities are fully booked, said CDU Migration State Secretary Siegfried Lorek to the Heilbronner Voice and the Südkurier (Saturday). “We urgently need more space.” He assumes that the Corona restrictions in the asylum accommodation will last longer because the people arriving there are usually not vaccinated.

The number of refugees has recently increased significantly again. According to Lorek, a total of 9,170 asylum seekers came to Baden-Württemberg in the first three quarters of 2021. Most of the refugees currently come from Syria and Afghanistan because of the political tensions.

According to Lorek, the country wants to expand its initial reception capacity by around 800 additional places this year. “Our goal is to create around 800 new initial reception places across the country this year,” he told the newspapers. In the long term, 400 new places should be created in Freiburg, and 1,650 new places should be added at several locations in Karlsruhe.

Fake News, Fake Interpreters, Fake Refugees

It seems that just about every more-or-less secular Afghani has stood up, raised his hand, and said, “I, too, was an interpreter for the Bundeswehr!”

At least that’s the way it looks as the Afghan “refugees” pour into Germany, aided and encouraged by various factions of the German government.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Tichys Einblick:

Fake local staff!

An Afghan unpacks: Good contacts brought me to Germany

In Brandenburg it turned out that more than half of the evacuated Afghans were not German local workers. The reception centers were bathed in the sloppy politics of Berlin. At the same time, unbelievable stories came to light and were silently swept under the carpet

Brandenburg remains a target country in several ways. Not only do hundreds of irregular migrants arrive at the Polish border every day, the Berlin-Brandenburg airport also regularly brings more “visitors” into the country, also from safe transit and countries of origin such as Turkey or Greece. Everyone is currently backing up in the Brandenburg asylum system, whose employees are unlikely to have any breathing space.

In addition, as early as August some of the “local staff” from Afghanistan and their relatives, who had initially landed in Frankfurt am Main, were distributed to the federal states by buses. All in all, 266 Afghans came to Brandenburg this way. Now it turns out that only 25 of them had actually been local government employees in Afghanistan. That was the result of the examination by the Brandenburg immigration authorities. A total of 91 relatives had entered the country. This in turn means that more than half of those flown in were neither local workers nor some of their family members — even though the federal government has expanded its definition of local workers more and more in recent weeks. The term ‘local force’, which has now become politically contaminated, has been obscured more and more in the past few weeks, filled with new content, and meaningless.

Residue-free removal of one’s own work

Strictly speaking, “local staff” are to be understood as the employees of the Bundeswehr during an assignment abroad. To this day, the Ministry of Defense insists that local staff can only be those who “worked for a department on the basis of an employment contract”. For the Bundeswehr, a spokesman for the Bundeswehr Operations Command told TE , this means that around 1,300 people worked for the Bundeswehr during the entire twenty years of the Afghanistan mission. That’s a relatively limited number, and not all of them — maybe only half — would be eligible under today’s rules.

However, not all ministries are so strict about evacuation. It was the Foreign Office under Heiko Maas that expanded the term local staff to include “people from the fields of science, politics, judiciary, NGOs, culture and the media” and thus completely devalued it. If it’s up to the Foreign Office and the accommodating Ministry of the Interior, tens of thousands of Afghans now have a right to humanitarian protection in Germany. In the end, this endless expansion serves only one goal: the most complete possible relocation of the new Afghan intelligentsia to Germany. But what have you been committed to for twenty years, only to remove the results of your own work today with practically no residue? Shouldn’t one rather advertise that parts of the former “civil society” keep their place under the Taliban and thus ensure a somewhat pluralistic Afghanistan? Can’t we at least expect this much heroism from the champions of the Western way of life in Central Asia?

Nice Work If You Can Get It

It seems that German politicians can expect golden parachutes. Maybe even platinum ones.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Bild:

“Pension With 60” ++ €1100/Month Per Year of Work

You have to be an ex— (Government) Minister ! An average earner would have to work for 132 YEARS

Pension from 60, more than 1100 euros per month on account and mini-deductions in the event of early retirement! Sounds like a pension land of milk and honey, but it really does exist: You would have to be a minister of the outgoing federal government…

There are these extra special pension favours for departing ministers. Amount: After four years of office, there is currently around €4500/month as a pension — so €1100 per year [of work]. If the Bundestag is dissolved prematurely, the pension is already available after two years of office! For comparison: an average earner would have to work for 132 YEARS!

Retirement age: Officially, ministers also have to raise their retirement age to 67 years. But: on request, you can collect your pension at 60. In comparison: employees can only retire after 35 years of work, at 63 at the earliest.

Nine of the ministers still in office could benefit from the “retirement at 60”. Including the Union Ministers Helge Braun (Chancellery), Anja Karliczek (Education), Julia Klöckner (Agriculture), Andreas Scheuer (Transport) and Jens Spahn (Health).

Discounts: These also exist for ministers, but they are capped at 14.4%. If ministers were treated like retirees, the discount would actually have to be 25.2% if retirement were brought forward by seven years. Even in politics, the pension privileges for ministers are viewed critically. The FDP applied for the abolition of some extra special pension favours last year, but failed in the Bundestag. As a likely future ruling party, it could now ensure that the federal ministers also arrive at the pension reality.

Do you Love to Hate?

Our Israeli correspondent MC sends this essay on the dire excesses of contemporary public policy, including the “vaccine” situation in Israel, which suffers from one of the worst cases of the Coronamadness.

Do you Love to Hate?

by MC

Any private view that deviates from the approved ‘liberal’ meme is now labelled as hate. I hate Islam, for example; I do, I do.

They send these missiles over and they explode near me and my family, but although the firing of missiles at civilians is a war crime, it is an acceptable war crime because Islam is a religion of peace and lurve. Isn’t it?

I have to say it is because to point to the world-domination aspects of Islam is ‘Islamophobia’ and Islamophobia is a ‘hate’ crime.

In 1941, in operation Barbarossa, the Nazi armies swept across the Russian Steppes, raping, looting and burning as they went. Liberals (modern day Nazis) would have those peasants whose livelihood had just gone up in flames smile and accept their fate for the greater good. A freezing winter of starvation and death is not an excuse for ‘hate crimes’; to be a hate crime, the action must fall into a violation with very narrowly defined victim and perpetrator groups.

To criticize Islam is a hate crime, full stop. To criticize Judaism is less black and white. To criticize and demean Israel, the only Jewish State, is to be encouraged.

If you come to Israel you will find that the majority of people are of Mediterranean appearance, with very dark Ethiopians, and very light Russians, but to liberals Israel, and all Jews, are white supremacists, no matter what their skin colour. Since most Jews in the USA are Ashkenazi Jews of European extraction, then Jews in Israel must therefore be ‘white’ and ‘supremacist’ (living in the ‘holy land’ as ‘occupiers’ claiming to be the ‘chosen race’, regardless of their origins).

Everybody knows that God in his wheelchair, just before he died, anointed all liberals to carry on his works of lurve, compassion and coercion. After all, it is ‘right’ and ‘just’ to make people conform for the benefit of all of us. Forcible conversion is a major part of the socialist creed.

For a Liberal, there are two ways of doing things; the Liberal way and the wrong way. To do things the wrong way violates Liberal principle and is thus implied criticism; a hate crime because ‘liberalism’ is one of the defined victim/perpetrator groups.

We no longer debate issues; we just manoeuvre our opponents into the treacherous quicksand of mudslinging. Any dialogue can be reduced to a monologue by just a few well-placed liberal epithets invoking ‘racist’, Nazi, Fascist, hate and conspiracy theory.

Recently we have seen quite a few so called ‘conspiracy theories’ prove to be accurate. When somebody puts two and two together and gets four, when they were supposed to get five, if we then yell “CONSPIRACY THEORY” for all we are worth we can make it all go away.

The so-called conspiracy theory was once the domain of the loony left, but has morphed over the last few decades into a weapon to suppress logical speculations. Here is some logical speculation:

  • China released the COVID-19 virus at the Armed Forces Games in Wuhan in October 2019.
  • Releasing a dangerous bioweapon of mass destruction is justification for war.
  • In December 2019 General Milley was worried that President Trump might declare war on China, so he took steps to acquire the power of the Commander-in-Chief for himself.
  • Milley tells his counterpart in China that he will give them a heads-up if the POTUS decides that China has committed an act of war.

If we put these points together we can logically draw the following conclusions:

Why is China so Dangerous?

H. Numan sends this follow-up to his earlier essay about China.

Why is China so dangerous?

by H. Numan

A response from a reader encouraged me to continue my essay about China. His points are valid, and will be exploited to the max by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the near future. China is a dangerous dragon, despite having fairly blunt teeth and very short claws. It remains a terrible danger, simply because of its size. 1.4 billion people can’t be wrong, though they may not have it right.

Let’s look at the People’s Liberation Army. The whole lot of them, army, navy, air force, rocket force and the auxiliary navy. The last are civilian registered ships, operated by navy personnel under military command disguised as fishing trawlers. Yes, the PLA is a powerful force on first glance. However, first looks are deceiving. What they lack is combat experience. They have no veterans. None whatsoever.

You can train someone to become a soldier, easily. But you can’t train someone to become a veteran soldier. Only combat does that. No matter how hard you try. Lots of very promising cadet officers proved to be worthless under fire. Not just freshly-minted lieutenants; it happens to generals, too. Especially if they themselves avoided any hazardous duties, managing desks from as far away as possible, and got promoted based on their relatives, not on experience. In other words: all Chinese generals, admirals and air-marshals.

The current price for three stars (lieutenant general) is 2.5 million dollars. Any Chinese with the right connections and at least that amount of money can become a general. That kind of corruption seeps through down below. A corrupt general (that’s all of them) isn’t going to promote a bright keen honest colonel over his not so bright but corrupt and therefore controllable colleagues. That would be suicide. That bright keen incorruptible colonel cannot be influenced, and makes everybody look bad. Imagine that pest becoming general! What hell can he unleash? Corruption breeds corruption. Only officers with enough money get promoted. Almost the same goes down the line: you need $25,000 to enter the cadet school. Even joining as a humble private costs you hefty $2,500. Which is good news for us: if need be, you simply buy a few generals! It happened in the past. Sun Tzu wrote about it, as a valid strategy in The Art of War [pdf].

Next, almost as bad, is the total lack of experience. China hasn’t fought a war since 1979. A war they lost. All officers, noncoms and soldiers with any kind of experience have since retired. And… they are treated like dogs**t Chinese civilians. Veterans regularly don’t get their retirement. It’s pocketed by the Veterans Administration. So often, that veterans have to demonstrate to get something. Demonstrating is not something you do for fun and games in China. High-ranking officers have often complained about it to the party leadership. With zero results. You think US veterans have it bad? That’s nothing compared with Chinese veterans.

The only reason one joins the People’s Liberation Army is career advancement and material profits. If a bright ambitious officer cadet longing to die for China doesn’t realize that when his parents shell out $25,000 to get him into the academy, he will long before graduation. He’s got two choices: either he coughs up $75,000 for a nice comfy posting in Beijing. Or he doesn’t, and will be posted to the dark side of the moon (Tibet). Where he remains a second lieutenant, until either he finds the required $75,000, resigns or dies. Whichever comes first. The PLA is truly democratic: the same applies to all ranks. With progressively lower fees, of course. Loyalty does not exist in China, least of all within the PLA.

Remember when Germany invaded Austria, in 1938? People were lining the streets with flowers and cheering the invading Wehrmacht. It was even better than a walk in the park! Of course the official poll where 99.75% voted in favor of unification was rigged. It was not only stupid; it wasn’t even necessary. Almost every party was in favor of unification anyway. At least 60% would have voted yes. Probably a lot more.

However, the Wehrmacht couldn’t take that for granted. It was possible (though unlikely) some units of the Austrian army might resist. Or that parts of the crowd might turn hostile. What do you do then? What if a truck or an armored car breaks down? Do you leave it there or repair it on the road? Or do you tow it? Do you need to post guards around it? Fair questions they simply couldn’t answer in advance. Something you have to experience, and decide on the spot. Only then you can write a combat manual about it. The peaceful invasion of Austria gave the Wehrmacht its first real combat experience since 1919. Something that’s worth gold.

Notice the utter lack of PLA units operating in UN peacekeeping forces. Asians don’t like losing face. That’s worse than stepping into a fat smelly turd with your bare feet. Why do Western units participate? Simply to gain valuable experience. Sure, you’ll make mistakes. Lots of them. Some of them even tragic. But overall they gain lots of combat experience with very little fighting.

Dominion Over the Vote

Whatever happens, we have got
The Maxim gun, and they have not.

— Hilaire Belloc, from “The Modern Traveller”

A reader named Ron Hartman left a comment on H. Numan’s essay in which he said, in part, “…we all can still save our country but we must stand up against our politicians and vote them out of power while we still can.”

I’m probably not the only person who thinks we have no chance whatsoever of voting the oligarchs out of power. As I wrote last May, the shenanigans of last November 3 — or, strictly speaking, in the early hours of last November 4 — should have convinced even the most hardened skeptic that our elections are now completely rigged. I expect them to remain that way in perpetuity, or at least until its internal rot causes the entire system to collapse.

When Virginians go to the polls next month, I expect Terry McAuliffe to squeak by and become our next governor. I’m certain that the Democrat-controlled machines in Loudoun and Fairfax counties and the cities of Arlington and Alexandria can scare up enough votes to put him over the top, especially considering how many illegal aliens are resident up there.

And when the midterms roll around next year, you can bet that there will be enough upsets in key races to allow the Democrats to retain control of the Senate (and probably increase their numbers to give them an actual majority). And even if the Republicans manage to take back the House, I expect certain important conservatives to unexpectedly lose, so that the RINOs — of which there are plenty — make sure that Democratic Socialism isn’t significantly impeded.

And in the presidential election of 2024, even if the Republican candidate is Donald Trump, it won’t matter who runs against him. At this point the Democrats can elect a ham sandwich.

If not enough voters can be raised from the dead, and the illegal immigrants don’t turn out in sufficient numbers, and not enough boxes of identical mail-in ballots can be discovered in closets… Well, there’s always the Dominion voting machines.

In the middle of the night in certain key states the count for the Democrat candidate will suddenly and mysteriously increase. And there will be lots of votes cast by fractional people, just as there were last year. We can expect to see a graph of the tally the following morning that looks a lot like the one from last winter’s senatorial runoff in Georgia:

We’ll need to update Hilaire Belloc’s ditty for the occasion:

Whatever happens, they have got
Dominion machines, and we have not.

Medical Tyranny and Climate Tyranny

Our Israeli correspondent MC weighs in on the two great shibboleths of modern political correctness: COVID-19 and climate change.

Medical Tyranny and Climate Tyranny

(Or the confessions of an inveterate kludge)

KLUDGE (Klooj) — N. Disparaging term for genetically unmodified human being; see also “uber”.

These are words that blend nicely: Medical tyranny is fear of what will happen in ten days’ time; climate tyranny is fear of what will happen in ten years’ time.

In a godless environment these are real and morbid fears, fully justified when mankind boasts invincibility but cannot hold back the waves of nature. “DO SOMETHING — ANYTHING” people scream at their leaders, and expect a response.

People get very angry when they go to a doctor and don’t get a bunch of pills to pop. Prescribing placebos is not uncommon so I am told.

About three years back I had a heart attack, not a big one, but painful and a shock. Cardiovascular disease is a symptom of an underlying failure. Modern medicine assumes it is all to do with ‘cholesterol’, at least that is what it tells its clientele, and cholesterol is what has, in the past, been taught at med school. First it was all cholesterol, and we had to give up butter and chicken skins. Then it was low-density cholesterol, and we all had to take statins. Then along came vLDL and we all had to lose weight. The cholesterol-centric view is outdated, but is still mainstream in the doctor’s surgery and in the pharma advertising. The underlying inflammation causing the cholesterol/plaque is largely ignored.

So I was given a handful of pills and told to make a will. There was no attempt to find out what the underlying cause(s) might be. Modern medicine is a profit-making concern, so it treats the symptoms, and is not the least interested in ‘healing’. To heal, one must find the cause, and that is not instantly profitable.

Luckily, I could afford private medicine. I went to a real healer: my daughter is studying to be a naturopath. I asked her advice, and I subsequently met Etti.

I spent almost a whole morning with Etti going through my back history, starting with childhood problems.

She then arranged for me to have a full GI tract analysis. It came back with a surprise: malnutrition — fat malabsorption, and subsequent problems with fat soluble vitamins A,D,E and K. The vitamin D deficiency was serious and debilitating and had been so for many years.

I was a scrawny child, so much so that my mother took me to the doctor as a ‘fail to thrive’ problem. The doctor was dismissive — “children don’t starve themselves.” Nobody bothered to ask me; I could have described the gagging (GERD) and the overwhelming tiredness, the aches and pains in my limbs…

This was within ten years after the end of the war — British society had all sorts of consequential hang-ups over food, and a little boy gagging and vomiting was just prima-donna behaviour.

I came to dread mealtimes, at school and at home. I had a reputation which I just could not live down.

It was sixty years later that Etti found the problem, Celiac disease — to me the gluten in wheat, barley and rye is poisonous and over time, stops the small from intestine digesting food and causes leaky gut syndrome and its subsequent cytokine storm and rabid inflammation.

The Rude Awakening is Yet to Come!

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Epoch Times:

The rude awakening is yet to come!

German inflation rate over four percent mark

Fueled by high energy prices, inflation in Germany exceeded the four percent mark for the first time in almost 28 years.

Consumer prices rose in September compared to the same month last year by 4.1 percent, as the Federal Statistical Office announced on the basis of a preliminary calculation. The Wiesbaden statisticians last determined a four with a decimal point in December 1993 at 4.3 percent.

Higher inflation weakens the purchasing power of consumers because they can then buy less for one euro than before. Rising inflation rates are also bitter for savers who, for example, park money in low-interest overnight money accounts. The bottom line is that your balances lose their value.

According to preliminary data, consumer prices remained unchanged in September compared with August. Inflation has been fueled by rising energy prices for months. In the course of the economic recovery after the Corona crisis, the demand for crude oil has increased significantly, which is driving prices up.

In Germany, since January, €25 per tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2) that is created when diesel, gasoline, heating oil and natural gas are burned have come due. Both are causing energy prices to rise.

Inflation rate of five percent possible

In September, consumers had to pay 14.3 percent more for household energy and fuels than a year earlier, according to preliminary data. Food prices rose 4.9 percent. Services cost 2.5 percent more than in September 2020.

The withdrawal of the temporary VAT cut is now having a full impact on the inflation trend. In order to stimulate consumption during the Corona crisis, the federal government had temporarily reduced VAT from July 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The regular VAT rates have been in effect again since January 2021, so goods and services are tending to become more expensive again.

Inflation rates of around five percent in Europe’s largest economy are considered possible this year. However, economists see the rise in inflation as a temporary phenomenon.

They currently do not see the increased risk of a prolonged or even out of control price spiral. In the coming year, inflation is likely to weaken again, in their opinion.

“As long as the wage agreements remain moderate, there is not much to suggest that we run into permanent inflation,” said Veronika Grimm recently, for example.

How Mentally Retarded do You Have to Be?

The AfD (Alternative für Deutschland, Alternative for Germany) did extremely well in Saxony in last Sunday’s general elections in Germany. As a consequence, Antifa activists want to abolish Saxony.

Antifa mobilizes against AfD: “Saxony must die”

According to the Leipziger Zeitung, Antifa mobilized more than 150 demonstrators against the AfD on Monday. They traveled through Leipzig under the motto “Saxony must die so that we can live”.

The anti-fascist demonstrators called for the city of Leipzig to leave Saxony. The AfD was the strongest force in Saxony in the federal election on Sunday. The party won ten of the 16 direct seats and secured 24.6 percent of the second votes.

We Have Ways of Making You Not Talk

Germans went to the polls today to vote in a general election. YouTube announced in advance that it would be censoring any videos that depart from the official government line on the election results, including any speculation on what might have influenced the vote.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Boris Reitschuster’s website:

YouTube announces censorship after the federal election

Google subsidiary continues to tighten thumbscrews

The video platform company YouTube, which belongs to the Google Group, has announced that it will adopt strict censorship after the general election on Sunday. Here is the wording of the explanation from YouTube, which many users have received — myself included:

Hello Boris Reitschuster,

We’ll also give you some up-to-date advice on YouTube’s guidelines, which deal with misinformation about elections. We will apply our guidelines on the legality of elections and election results to misinformation about the outcome of the federal election as soon as the final results have been confirmed by the federal returning officer.

Important information related to the Legality of Elections and Election Results Policy:

  • Content that falsely claims that the outcome of the Bundestag election in Germany was influenced will be removed from YouTube. This applies to misinformation about the outcome of the Bundestag election, the formation of the new government or the election and appointment of the next Federal Chancellor.
  • YouTube videos that refer to content with incorrect information about the election result outside of YouTube (e.g. on an external video platform) will also be removed.
  • These guidelines only apply to videos uploaded to YouTube on or after the day on which the Federal Returning Officer confirms the final result.
  • In order for creators to prepare for the change, videos that violate this policy will be removed within 30 days of the day the results are confirmed, but the associated channel will not receive a warning.

For more information about the Election Misinformation Policy, see this article in YouTube Help: Elections Misinformation Policy: YouTube Community Guidelines

That is remarkable and a new form of censorship. It weighs particularly heavily because, according to German jurisprudence, as a de facto monopoly, YouTube is bound to protect basic rights and is not allowed to censor freely based on a domiciliary right.

In the past, many elections in Germany resulted in mistakes and mishaps — as, ironically enough, you can find out from Google, of all places, which also includes YouTube. The guidelines are formulated very ambiguously: Does the description “widespread” only refer to cases of fraud, or also to errors and glitches?

Who decides whether claims about errors and glitches are “false” or not? Does YouTube have an instance of truth here? Tax-subsidized so-called “fact checkers”?

Get the Jab, or Lose Unemployment Benefits

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from the Austrian tabloid Heute:

Only €237 minimum income for vaccine opponents

Those who refuse vaccination are now even threatened with the cancellation of the minimum income. It is to be reduced gradually — to a limit of €237 per month.

Vaccination refusals are not only threatened with the loss of unemployment benefits , the minimum income can also be cancelled. These plans became known on Saturday and made headlines not only in Austria, but also in Germany. As it says in Profile, there is already a step-by-step plan on the table. If someone refuses to take work, “in a first step we will automatically cut salaries by 25 percent,” said the spokesman for the Vienna State Social Councilor Peter Hacker, Mario Dujakovic.

Then there are gradual cuts by 50 percent and at the end by 100 percent. Children, retirees or physically handicapped people should not be affected, but people who are able work but refuse jobs because they have to be or would have to be vaccinated may be affected. According to the magazine, this is around 46,500 out of 128,000 subscribers in Vienna. Full recipients would then remain at €237 per month — the residential component of 25 percent of the minimum income, which remains unaffected by the sanctions.

AMS blocks unemployment benefits

Der Standard reported on Thursday that there are new restrictions on the unemployed from the Ministry of Labor under Minister Martin Kocher (ÖVP). If they reject a reasonable position only because they would have to be vaccinated against Corona for it, their remuneration, specifically unemployment benefits, should be blocked. The same applies if you do not even apply for this reason.

According to Heute‘s information, the background is that the AMS repeatedly has to deal with people who refuse a job because they do not want to be vaccinated against Corona. The AMS therefore asked the Ministry of Labor how to deal with these people. In doing so, reference was made to the current legal situation by means of a letter (not by decree, as initially assumed).

Merkel’s Blackshirts Are Rallying

In Leipzig yesterday the black block built burning barricades, bashed banks, and bopped burghers with bottles. The anti-fascist allochthons of alliteration were allegedly allowed to allot allopathy to all.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Bild:

Antifa Demo Escalated in Leipzig

Black block builds burning barricades

The Black Block pushed its way through Leipzig today.

An estimated 5000 participants protested from the center to the Connewitzer Kreuz on Saturday, wrapped in billows of smoke and fog. A martial act. And one that escalated and got visibly out of control. Because: Autonomous people hurled bottles, stones and firecrackers at police officers. Eventually barricades burned.

“We are all anti-fascists: inside — we are all linX” was the motto of the elevator from Johannisplatz to Connewitzer Kreuz. The initiator of the demonstration and member of the state parliament, Juliane Nagel (42, left), actually wanted to prevent excessive violence during and after the demonstration — as was most recently the case ten months ago.

“We have good, experienced stewards and our message to the participants is clear: We want to remain peaceful,” said the member of the state parliament. This wish remained unfulfilled.

The demonstration stopped at the police headquarters for a short time. Objects, bottles, firecrackers and paint bags rained down on the entrance. A Commerzbank branch was attacked a few hundred meters away.

About 5,000 left-wing extremists were on the train on the Karli. They were only colorful at the head of the demo. The Black Block marched farther back, lighting flares incessantly. Radical protesters demolished several parked cars.

Around 2,000 officers from three federal states as well as the federal police, water cannons and helicopters were on duty. The police held back during the demonstration, relying on de-escalation.

The deployment was not only explosive because it took place a week before the general election, but also because a few days ago the criminal trial against the Connewitz left-wing extremist Lina E. (26) began.

“We are not the solidarity alliance for Lina E.,” Juliane Nagel assured BILD. “Our initiative was founded at the beginning of the year; we are only concerned with anti-fascism!”

In addition, they wanted to “take a stand against the shift to the right” before the election. However, there were a number of “Free Lina” posters held up during the demonstration.
