It has been almost a year since a 12-year-old French girl named Lola Daviet was raped, tortured, and murdered in Paris, allegedly by a young Algerian woman named Dahbia Benkired. A deportation order had been issued against Ms. Benkired, and she had been ordered to leave the country within thirty days. After the grace period had expired, the authorities failed to deport her, and little Lola was the alleged victim of their failure.
Below is an update on the Lola case, featuring remarks made by the dead girl’s older brother. Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from Le Figaro:
Murder of Lola: The principal suspect, Dahbia Benkired, “should have been expelled,” the brother of the little girl believes
October 6, 2023
In an interview with the media Factuel, Jordan Daviet, 29, revisits the murder of his younger sister, Lola, almost one year after the tragedy that shook France.
It’s a rare word. Almost one year ago, the murder of the young Lola in the 19th arrondissement of Paris shocked France. This Friday, October 6, as the fatal anniversary approaches, Jordan Daviet, the older brother of the 12-year-old girl, expressed himself to the media Factuel. In this interview the young man of 29 revisits the “political exploitation” which, according to him, has followed the murder of his little sister.
Jordan Daviet thus explains that up until now he “was not yet ready to respond to the press,” out of fear that he would “speak out of anger and say things he would later regret,” and today he recognizes that he “no longer feels that much anger, but rather incomprehension.” He hopes that the trial, which should be held next summer, will bring answers in the dark areas that still surround the tragedy.
“Apolitical”
At the time of the events in October 2022, Lola’s brother nevertheless claims that he did not “suffer” from the massive media exposure, which he says was “much more focused on his father and stepmother.” He notes that he did not want to get involved in the “political aspect” which inevitably affected the matter, and claims to be “apolitical”. “Lola was a little girl of 12 years; she had nothing to do with all that,” he states.
At the time the profile of the suspect, Dahbia Benkired, residing illegally in France and under an order to leave the country (OQTF), particularly caused a reaction. The executive branch then recognized that it had to “do better” in terms of expulsions of illegal immigrants. At the same time, Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin also announced plans to include the expulsion order in the files of wanted persons.
If today the brother of Lola says he doesn’t wish to “get involved in the politics of his sister’s death,” as was done in the past, he maintains that the alleged perpetrator of his sister’s murder, Dahbia Benkired, “should have been expelled.”
The 24-year-old Algerian national was charged with murder and rape on October 17, 2022, a few days after the events. Benkired, who admitted the murder of the little girl during her court hearing, is at present hospitalized in a unit for difficult patients in the psychiatric hospital in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne). Since then a psychiatric assessment has taken place, and more are expected in the coming months to determine the criminal responsibility of the accused.

Re: “In an interview with the media Factuel, Jordan Daviet, 29, revisits the murder of his younger sister, Lola, almost one year after the tragedy that shook France.”
The word “tragedy”implies an act of God, as people used to call unfortunate but more-or-less random events, i.e., a tornado or a flood which cost people their lives; an outbreak of a deadly disease, and so on.
A wanton killing of this kind, a murder, is not “tragic” at least not in the sense of how the ancients understood that word. Rather, it was a vicious crime and an atrocity. This exceptionally vicious and sadistic act was preventable, moreover, which is one more reason it ought to be considered an atrocity and an affront to the values our civilization once held dear.
Words matter; their meanings… which ones are chosen, which ones are not chosen. It is vital that we understand that there is a long-standing attack being waged upon our language and means of communication. How so? It is simply that if the powers-that-be can change the words we use, they know that they can ultimately change how we think as well.
Given the intimate link between language and thought, attacks upon our words and language are ultimately an attack upon our thoughts themselves. In other words, a form of psychological warfare. And this campaign has had no little success thus far, alas, which can be seen in the original choice of the word “tragedy” to describe such a cruel and vicious crime.
It is dismaying to read that the brother of poor Lola Daviet “does not wish to get involved in the politics of his sister’s death,” because that means the perpetrator may very well get away with this heinous act. Proving yet again the late Iris Chang’s observation that atrocities tend to occur in pairs – first, the actual act of violence, and then the cover-over and denial.
regarding cover over and denial, the statement of the authorities that we could do better is in the same category as lessons have been learnt
The purpose of these lies is firstly to shift responsibility to some amorphous entity, and secondly to shift focus to the future.
Every person with an ounce of responsibility in them knows that doing better is simple, to the degree that not doing better requires an extraordinary explanation. Clearly the State wants what it has produced, and the question is then why?
The brother of Lola is already involved, whether he likes it or not. Waving the white flag is hardly going to help. He should have kept quiet and acted.
Mass migration requires massive investment in mental hospitals. They need to house millions in these mental hospitals and will need many more migrants to staff them.
Perhaps Europe can become one great big mental asylum. Is that what “seeking asylum” really means? They are looking for a “mental asylum”. All the European fools think they are looking for a “new life” LOL
What a joke!
The spineless jellyfish of a brother really does amaze me. If that had been one of my sisters my wrath would be epic.
Absolutely! Nothing could hold me back.
