Syrian wedding party in Molenbeek gets out of control: Two seriously wounded in shooting and knife fight.

The events took place in the Salle (Hall) Excellence in Molenbeek

A Syrian wedding on Tuesday evening in Molenbeek got entirely out of hand. Two people were injured: one of them by a bullet in the leg and the second by a stab in the back.

The events unfolded around 11:30pm at Mariemontkaal in Molenbeek. In the banquet hall, a Syrian wedding party was in progress when a big argument broke out, which ended in a shooting and a knife fight. “According to the initial results of the investigation, two men were injured. One of them got a knife in the back, the other a bullet in the leg,” the Brussels Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.

The reason for the argument is, at this moment, not known. Though the two victims were transported with serious injuries, they are not reported to be life-threatening. The Prosecutor’s Office has begun an investigation, but as yet, nobody is under arrest.
