Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/16/2023

Losing my phone and Internet for most of the day put me behind the eight ball, so that I don’t have time to post anything tonight but the news feed. To complicate matters, tomorrow I will be going in to get the periodic injection in my eye to treat wet macular degeneration, which always interferes with my productivity. So be patient: the other stuff will get posted, but it may take a couple of days.

The most interesting item I noticed in this batch is that Hungary vetoed €500 million in EU weapons funds for Ukraine after Ukraine sanctioned Hungary’s largest bank.

To see the headlines and the articles, click “Continue reading” below.

Thanks to Caroline Glick, Daniel Greenfield, Dean, DV, McN, Reader from Chicago, SS, and all the other tipsters who sent these in.

Notice to tipsters: Please don’t submit extensive excerpts from articles that have been posted behind a subscription firewall, or are otherwise under copyright protection.

Caveat: Articles in the news feed are posted “as is”. Gates of Vienna cannot vouch for the authenticity or accuracy of the contents of any individual item posted here. I check each entry to make sure it is relatively interesting, not patently offensive, and at least superficially plausible. The link to the original is included with each item’s title. Canada: Taxpayers Group Gives Notley’s Proposed Tax Hike a ‘Failing Grade’

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is giving the Alberta NDP’s plan to hike taxes a “failing grade,” with Alberta Director Kris Sims calling it a “reckless thing” to do in a province that’s booming and hiring thousands of people.

The NDP released a costed economic platform on Tuesday, which forecasts a $3.3-billion surplus over three years, including an increase to the corporate tax rate from 8% to 11% to increase revenue.

The CTF says revenue collected by the government from the business tax is actually increasing under the lower tax rate introduced by the United Conservatives.

Author Salman Rushdie Says Freedom of Expression is Under Attack in the West

Novelist Salman Rushdie has warned that countries in the West face the most-severe threats to freedom of expression and freedom to publish in his lifetime, speaking nine months after a man repeatedly stabbed him while he was on stage in New York.

Rushdie, 75, was awarded the Freedom to Publish award by The British Book Awards earlier this week.

“We live in a moment, I think, at which freedom of expression, freedom to publish, has not in my lifetime been under such threat in the countries of the West,” Rushdie said in a video message from New York broadcast to the awards ceremony.

“The freedom to publish, of course, is also the freedom to read and the freedom to write, the ability to write what you want … to be able to choose what you want to read and not have it decided for you externally.”

California’s reparations task force, created by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2020 with members appointed in 2021, to study the economic effects of slavery and discrimination is demanding to have veto power over the state’s real estate decisions in order to give black people first priority in the renting and buying markets, Daily Mail reports.

The reparations task force is asking California lawmakers to give them control of local land use decisions so they can approve plans based on whether or not they decrease or maintain segregation, stating that, “Residential zoning ordinances have been used for decades in California to prevent African Americans from moving into neighborhoods, thereby maintaining residential segregation.”

Caroline Glick: Rashida Tlaib’s Hatefest in the Senate

Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (D-MI) calling card is Jew-hatred. She’s built her career around it. And for four years, not only did she pay no price for her vile bigotry; she was rewarded for it.

Last September, Tlaib promised that she would “push back” against people who both claim to be progressive and support Israel’s right to exist. In her words, “Among progressives it has become clear that you cannot claim to hold progressive values yet back Israel’s apartheid government, and we will continue to push back and not accept this idea that you are progressive except for Filistin (Palestine) any longer.”

Progressive Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) strongly protested Tlaib’s statement. The Florida congresswoman said that calling people’s progressive credentials into question over their support of Israel is “an outrageous litmus test” and “nothing short of antisemitic.”

Progressive Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) agreed.

But Tlaib paid no price. She was protected. Wasserman Schultz and Nadler, on the other hand, were pilloried. One senior blogger at MSNBC referred to their protests of Tlaib as “Trumpian misinformation.”

In 2019, commenting on the genocide of European Jewry during the Holocaust, Tlaib said, “There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust.”

She went on to explain that it was due to the Holocaust that her ancestors “lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, (and) their existence in many ways.”

Here too, in the face of criticism of her from the American Jewish community, Tlaib’s supporters in the media attacked the Jewish congressmen for criticizing her appalling bigotry. The Washington Post and Snopes both rushed to Tlaib’s defense.

Previously, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) never censured Tlaib for her obvious Jew-hatred. Like her Jew-hating colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Tlaib was rewarded for her antisemitism: Pelosi endorsed Tlaib in her primary race against a non-antisemitic opponent last year.

Given the backdrop of Tlaib’s long winning streak on the Jew-hater ticket, it was a relief last week when she finally suffered a setback. Tlaib had planned to host an event marking the so-called “Nakba,” the “catastrophe” of the modern state of Israel’s establishment in 1948, at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Visitor’s Center. But after the event was reported, and after receiving a request from a rabbinical group, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stepped in last Tuesday and blocked the event…

It has been revealed that a number of Chinese donors contributing money to the University of Pennsylvania between 2018 and 2022 had ties to the Chinese Communist Party and Hunter Biden-linked companies.

While none of the donations were made directly to the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, which is located on campus, the rise in donations coming from China during that time period with links to Hunter Biden has raised some questions.

Copyright Chaos: High-Stakes YouTube Lawsuit Headed for Trial

Musician Maria Schneider’s class action lawsuit against YouTube for copyright infringement is heading to jury trial next month. The lawsuit claims that smaller artists are denied access to YouTube’s anti-piracy tools while alleged infringers benefit from Content ID matches within the YouTube system. The trial will take place in San Francisco, and YouTube will defend itself with its safe harbor provisions under the DMCA, through fair use, express licenses, and time-barred claims. The plaintiffs are seeking $750 to $150,000 per infringed work and, if successful, they will seek orders preventing YouTube from withholding any known content match over 10 seconds in length and directing YouTube to provide all matches over 10 seconds to any pre-existing or subsequently uploaded video.

Elon Musk Says George Soros, Who Just Dumped His Tesla Stock, ‘Hates Humanity’

George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist often the target of antisemitic conspiracy theories, recently sold all of his Tesla stock after having pumped tens of millions of dollars into Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company. Musk lobbed a characteristically lame attack at Soros Monday night. “Soros reminds me of Magneto,” he wrote, referring to the Marvel supervillain.

Musk wasn’t done. After it was pointed out that both Soros and Magneto survived the Holocaust and that Soros “gets attacked non-stop for his good intentions,” Musk objected: “You assume they are good intentions. They are not. He wants to erode the very fabric of civilization. Soros hates humanity.”

How to Make Your Murder Matter

by Daniel Greenfield

If you want your murder to matter, you need to be shot, not stabbed. How much coverage did the four University of Idaho students stabbed to death in their apartment last year get? Even though theirs was the first murder in Moscow, Idaho in 7 years, you probably didn’t hear about it.

Mass stabbings don’t have the same sexy cachet as mass shootings. Unlike the UK, no one responds to mass stabbings by proposing to ban chef’s knives. (Yet.)

But not all guns are equal.

If you really want people to notice your murder, you had better arrange to be shot by an AR-15 or some mean-looking gun that Democrats want to ban as a “weapon of war”. Handguns are used in 78% of mass shootings. Like the kind that happen every weekend all over Chicago. And you don’t want to be just another statistic among the “15 shot over a bloody Sunday afternoon”.

Handguns don’t count. If you want your murder to matter, don’t get stabbed or shot with a pistol. Remind the shooter that if he doesn’t invest in an AR-15, he won’t make the evening news…

Journalist David Faber Can’t Understand Why Elon Musk Won’t Censor His Speech to Cede Control to Advertisers

CNBC journalist David Faber found himself in an unexpectedly candid conversation with Tesla CEO and Twitter owner, Elon Musk. The interview highlights the problems with the news media and how it’s beholden to advertisers — with journalists so quick to subscribe to the idea that it’s normal for advertisers to have power over speech.

Musk’s bold proclamation — that he doesn’t censor his speech for advertisers — seemed to confuse Faber.

Musk told Faber, “I’ll say what I want, and if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it.”

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running in second place to incumbent President Biden in the 2024 primary sweeps, told Fox News that his once antiwar party has made a 180-degree turn as middle-class Americans struggle to live with a hurting economy.

ESG investigating has fallen under scrutiny from conservatives who fear the practice may constitute a violation of a firm’s fiduciary duty to its investors.

Teenage Gunman, Three Elderly Victims ID’d in New Mexico Mass Shooting

Three elderly women — including a 97-year-old mother and her daughter — were identified by police Tuesday as the victims killed at the hands of New Mexico teenage gunman Beau Wilson.

The 18-year-old — armed with three guns — fired indiscriminately as he walked through a quarter-mile stretch of the city of Farmington Monday morning, killing Gwendolyn Schofield, her 73-year-old daughter, Melody Ivie, and 79-year-old Shirley Voita, cops said.

Six others, including two police officers, were injured in the shooting before cops killed Wilson.

Police believe the violence was “purely random” and that Wilson did not know any of his victims.

“The amount of violence and brutality that these people faced is unconscionable to me,” Farmington Deputy Police Chief Kyle Dowdy said at a press conference.

Separatists Fed Up With Trudeau Want Province to Break Away From Canada, Become 51st State

An advocacy group in Alberta, Canada, is trying to educate residents of the province about what it argues would be the benefits of breaking off from the country to join the U.S. as its 51st state.

“I find myself having an affinity toward the U.S. more than Canada because of the freedom, Constitution and just the entire republican system versus the monarchy here, which is really a pseudonym for dictatorship,” a source with the Alberta 51 Project told Fox News Digital.

Founded in 2022, the project is “dedicated to supporting education to all Albertans on why we should become the 51st state of the United States of America,” according to its website. About one-fifth of Canadians in various provinces believe they would be better off under the U.S. government, according to a poll done by Research Co. earlier this year.

Apple Investigated for ‘Planned Obsolescence’

The Paris Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into Apple’s alleged efforts to render its own devices obsolete in order to force users to upgrade. The complaint follows successful judgments against the California tech giant in France and Italy.

“Following a complaint, an investigation was opened in December 2022 into deceptive marketing practices and programmed obsolescence,” the office said in a statement on Monday, adding that the complaint was filed by an activist group called ‘Halte a L’Obsolescence Programmee’ (HOP).

The group’s complaint centers around the practice of ‘serialization’, whereby spare parts like microchips or speakers are matched with serial numbers to a specific generation of iPhone. This prevents third-party repairers from using generic parts, and as models are phased out by Apple, so too are the associated spares, forcing customers to shell out for a newer model.

Apple, HOP claims, can detect when a phone has been repaired with unauthorized parts and can remotely “degrade” its performance.

An earlier complaint by HOP led to Apple being fined $27 million by a French consumer watchdog in 2020 for slowing the performance of older iPhones via mandatory operating system upgrades. A similar decision was made in Italy a year earlier, with the country’s antitrust authority imposing a fine of $10.8 million on the California company.

Germany to Order 123 Leopard Main Battle Tanks in Effort to Rebuild Military

Determined to show a more decisive image than his predecessor, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is moving forward to begin aggressively working on fixing the deplorable state of his country’s military.

The Bundeswehr is in such a poor state that many experts believe piecemeal measures cannot help and it must be practically rebuilt. On the one hand, Pistorius has taken a firm stance in favor of increasing the German defense budget above the NATO requirement of 2 percent of GDP, and on the other, he has immediately started to buy weapons, a task that his predecessor had completely neglected. Now, the German armed forces are attempting to rearm at breakneck speed to make it Europe’s leading military power.

Poland: ‘Third Way’ Electoral Alliance Announced as Alternative to Ruling Conservatives and Opposition Liberals

The official name of the electoral coalition between the Polish People’s Party (PSL) and Szymon Holownia’s Poland 2050 has been revealed as “Third Way.”

It is an alliance that will seek to undermine the governing Law and Justice (PiS) and the opposition liberals, and will attempt to instill a more centrist political agenda.

The leaders of the Polish People’s Party (PSL) and Poland 2050, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz (PSL) and Szymon Holownia (Poland 2050), said that the Third Way will be a choice for the greater good rather than the lesser evil. It will reflect the desire for Poles to have a less confrontational approach to politics, claimed the two leaders, both of whom were adamant it would not be a return to the pre-2015 policies pursued by the coalition of the liberal Civic Platform (PO) with the PSL.

‘This is an Attack on Hungary and Therefore NATO’ — Ukraine’s Plan to Blow Up Pipeline Supplying Hungary With Oil Would Constitute Article 5 Violation, Says Security Expert

Ukraine’s plan to blow up the Druzhba pipeline carrying crude from Russia to Hungary could invoke Article 5 of the NATO treaty and would also constitute an act of terrorism, Hungarian security policy expert György Nógradi told daily Magyar Nemzet in an interview.

“They figuratively wanted to attack a NATO country by blowing up the Friendship oil pipeline in order to put Hungarian industry in a difficult situation,” Nógradi said in the interview.

As Remix News recently reported, according to leaked documents from the United States intelligence agencies, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed at a February meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko that Ukraine should blow up the pipeline in order to incapacitate the part of the Hungarian energy infrastructure reliant on Russian oil.

Russia Claims Its Armoured Trains Are Succeeding in Preventing Ukrainian Saboteurs Blowing Up Railways

Russia is attempting to claim a victory over Ukraine after it was embarrassed by a series of explosions destroying trains carrying supplies for their war machine in the past month, now claiming their fleet of armoured trains has “successfully repelled all the Ukrainian saboteurs’ attacks”.

A Russian freight train came off the rails and exploded in a ball of flame earlier this month, followed by another the following day. In both cases, an “explosive device” was involved, and the work of saboteurs was suggested. Given how crucial railways are to Russia’s war effort — moving troops, tanks, and supplies by train is essential as Russian roads are not up to the task — it is not surprising perhaps that the Kremlin has now hit back with a story claiming they are proactively preventing further such explosions.

Former ByteDance Executive: China Has ‘Supreme Access’ to All TikTok Data

A former executive at ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, says the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had “supreme access” to all data held by the Chinese tech company, including on servers in the United States.

Yintao “Roger” Yu, a former head of engineering at Bytedance in the United States, says the CCP had a special office inside the company, called the “Committee,” which monitored Bytedance and its TikTok subsidiary and “guided how it advanced core Communist values,” according to the complaint obtained by CNN.

“The Committee maintained supreme access to all the company data, even data stored in the United States,” Yu’s wrongful termination lawsuit, which was filed on Friday in Superior Court in San Francisco, read.

The suit also claims that Bytedance made user data accessible to the CCP via a backdoor channel, and that it didn’t matter where the in the world the data was located.

Yu also said that he had witnessed Bytedance being “responsive to the CCP’s requests” to share, elevate, and even remove content. The former executive also described the Chinese tech company as “useful propaganda tool” for Beijing’s communist leaders.

More Than 2 Dozen Injured After Explosion at Tijuana, Mexico, Building

Part of the building was red-tagged and was not meant to be inhabited, the Tijuana Civil Protection Agency said

More than two dozen people were injured after an explosion in Tijuana, Mexico, a few miles south of the San Ysidro Port of Entry Tuesday morning, prompting a large response from rescuers from various local agencies.

A boom shook the Blancas building in Tijuana’s East Zone at around 9:35 a.m. The building houses a print shop, a furniture store, a car detailing shop and a spare parts store. Atop the businesses were apartments that were not meant to be inhabited, according to the Tijuana Civil Protection Agency.

It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion.

Tijuana fire crews evacuated several people from the building and began rescue work. Authorities initially reported two people were believed to be trapped at the scene. After an hour and a half of work, firefighters were able to free one person who was trapped in the basement. The individual suffered first- and second-degree burns and was one of several transported to area hospitals, the agency said.

At least 25 people were injured, according to the Tijuana Fire Department — four with serious injuries, six in moderate condition and 15 with minor injuries. Rafael Cabillo, Tijuana’s fire director, told Telemundo 20 that the search for other victims continues.

Acknowledging that you have been so deceived and incited by the news, talk shows, universities and ministers also requires a willingness to deal with the resulting loss of trust in the institutions – and with your own shame. Everyone is welcome to take this path out of the lie. It is also highly recommended for the sake of one’s own health… Because those who have to use more and more energy to ward off reality end up in more and more inner conflicts, which can lead to obsessive-compulsive disorder and neuroses.

Extract from Dr. Gunter Frank’s book “The State Crime – Why the Corona Crisis Will Only End When Those Responsible Stand Trial”.

    The global crisis lobby

A comprehensive legal clarification is also urgent for society as a whole, and not only for reasons of justice. Not for revenge, but for prevention, as follow-up campaigns are already underway. The powerful network described in chapters 4 and 5 is part of a global crisis lobby whose business model is based on inflating normal human problems into doomsday disasters. Thus, in the context of a supposed rescue, tangible powers and huge profits are imposed. National self-determination and democratically rooted institutions are gone.

The protagonists are particularly happy to meet at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where world leaders gather every year. The head of the WEF is Klaus Schwab, who in 2020 described in his book “Covid-19: The Great Reset” how the elites there imagine the solution to all problems: All ordinary people give up their self-determination to a global central power, because it knows much better what is good for everyone. This is how the problems of hunger, migration, war and climate change are solved.

Anyone who thinks his own ideas make more sense is an incorrigible redneck who should be identified by surveillance before he does any harm. Afterwards, he should be made to conform to the greater wisdom by depriving him of his rights. I am exaggerating slightly – but only slightly.

The next hype is being prepared

Meanwhile, there are countless organizations and programs that all want to save the world in some way. In reality, large sums of money move through them and supporters are provided, mostly from public funds. Such as the EcoHealth Alliance, which in reality operates as a money launderer for biological weapons research. Anyone reading the texts of these organizations cannot help but get the impression that everything seems somewhat one-dimensional, not to mention stupid. But they are serious. Deadly serious. When Karl Lauterbach and the architects of the Jeremy Farrar corona conspiracy fantasize about the century of pandemics in Davos in January 2023, you should prick up your ears. Blame climate change, what else. The next hype is already in the air. Once again, there are calls for more government involvement in the preparation and development of new ‘vaccines’.

The nonsensical, technically unjustified link to natural climate fluctuations offers a special opportunity to create the necessary suffering pressure. For example, according to the WEF and the United Nations (UN), in the future, if completely irrational climate targets are missed, citizens will be forced to restrict their freedom of movement with electronic road closures and heavy fines.

Oxford will introduce the ’15-minute city’ from 2024, Berlin wants to follow suit. The judgment of the Federal Constitutional Court in March 2021 places fundamental rights under a climate reservation as a precautionary measure. Federal Parliament Vice-President Katrin Göring-Eckardt (Greens) is bracing herself for climate shocks:

How the US left will help Magdalena return to power

In April, Social Democrat party chair Magdalena Andersson and her press secretary, trade unionist Tobias Baudin, traveled to the United States to learn from the Biden regime and Democratic Party spin doctors how to win elections. This is because Andersson sees the SD-backed Tidö government in Sweden as an import of “Trumpism”, which she accuses of seizing power by “lying through its teeth”.

Dagens Nyheter formally retains its designation as an independent supporter of the Liberals. In practice, under the leadership of the often heavily criticized Peter Wolodarski, the paper campaigns for an S-led left-wing government and has done so for a number of years.

On Thursday, the newspaper published a several-page long and richly illustrated follow-up report on S-leader Magdalena Andersson’s study visit to the US just under a month ago. The purpose of the trip was to learn from the American left in general and the Joe Biden regime and the Democrats’ spin doctors in particular how to deal with “Trumpism”, which Andersson believes has made its way into Sweden and Rosenbad through the Tidöparti’s election win.

In the US to learn from Biden how to regain power
The question that Magdalena sought an answer to in the US is how the Social Democrats can take back government power and win against a political opponent who she says “lies like crazy”. This without being “dragged into the lying machine”.

Not everyone shares the S leadership’s view of the political situation in Sweden. On the contrary, among the majority who voted out Magdalena Andersson & Co. last fall, there is a widespread perception that it was the Social Democrats who lied rampantly and the parties that now govern Sweden, especially the Sweden Democrats, who served up the bitter truths in areas such as migration, crime and energy policy.

Nor is there any basis for comparing the return of conservatism in Sweden and the challenge to left-wing liberalism with the US and Donald Trump. Politics in Sweden is not conducted in the same way as in the great country to the west, and no one at national level has adopted Trump’s rhetorical style. All the more, they say, there were those who, with varying degrees of success, tried to imitate Obama and his long art breaks.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s in Sweden, one was said to be “progressive” if one had radical left-wing ideas about how society should be changed, preferably through revolutionary methods of violence. The term has since disappeared from Swedish political terminology, but is still widely used in the US for left-wing politics in general, both radically subversive and more reformist.

The importance of portraying oneself as good and the opponent as evil
One of the forums that Magdalena Andersson was very interested in attending during her visit to the US to hear left-liberal profiles present their political strategies was the Center for American Progress, which is affiliated with the Biden government. There were also left-minded long-distance travelers from other countries, ready to learn how to maintain or regain power from “right-wing populism”.

A key element of the left-liberal “progressive” strategy taught in the US is to describe politics as a battle between good and evil as in the world of fairy tales, comic books and computer games. Magadalena Andersson listened with great interest to Alejandro Verdin’s speech about how he, as a spin doctor for the left-wing judge Janet Protasiewicz, managed to get her into the state of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court and thus secure a left-wing majority there.

This is considered important as the federal Supreme Court now has a conservative bias, which has opened up the infected abortion issue in the US for debate and decision where the lid has long been on under left-liberal dominance. During this period, being “pro-life” has been portrayed as a marginal and extreme opinion, but is now proving to be as common in many places, even among women, as being “pro-choice”.

Angry Magdalena Andersson to Bilderberg meeting

This year, Swedish oligarch Marcus Wallenberg is taking Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson to the shady elite meeting with the Bilderberg Group.

At the annual Bilderberg meeting, hand-picked members of the world’s elite meet to secretly talk about various issues, completely unseen by the media or the public.

This year, the meeting will take place in Lisbon on May 18-21.

The third Swede invited this year is Anna Borg, the CEO of state-owned Vattenfall, according to the list of participants.

In recent years, the Bilderberg Group has started releasing the list of participants only when the meeting starts, to avoid journalists asking critical questions when they arrive.

Among the discussion topics on this year’s agenda are AI, the banking system, China, NATO, Russia and ‘US leadership’.

According to the Bilderberg Group’s ‘Chatham House Rule’, none of the participants can reveal afterwards anything that other participants said during the meeting.

  3. .
    part 2

Protasiewicz has been prominently pro-choice and, according to Verdin, it was by framing her campaign as “a battle between good and evil” with “heroes, villains and victims” that she was able to win. According to Verdin, this is a recipe that the left can apply in all politics and something that Magdalena Andersson has adopted and started to use frequently after returning to Sweden.

This rhetorical borrowing also includes talking about the political arena in the US in this way, with Biden as the hero and Trump as the villain, and making comparisons with the political contradictions in Sweden. In DN’s campaign article for the Social Democrats, Donald Trump is described in a boxing match analogy as “increasingly aggressive” and Joe Biden as “increasingly fragile”. Another way of looking at it – and the more established one, according to US voter surveys – is to see Trump as still vital and Biden as increasingly demented.

Practicing the skills in a recent opinion piece
As part of the DN campaign for the Social Democrats, the newspaper has also published an opinion piece in which Magdalena Andersson demonstrates the rhetorical skills she honed during and after her American study trip. The headline already describes the Tidö government as “SD’s right-wing regime that threatens the foundations of our democracy”. It then continues according to the black-and-white template of a battle between good and evil with epithets on SD’s political opponents as “authoritarian” and “right-wing extremists” in the process of brutally silencing both the media’s free speech and university scientific research.

The government of the day is “spreading hate” and “singling out” those it dislikes, Andersson writes. Political changes that do not go in the same direction as the previous S-government’s policy are described as “cleverness” and the proposal that the Social Democrats should no longer be the only Swedish party allowed to rip off poor pensioners with a lottery sale that has been shown to be conducted with age-crime-like methods is portrayed by the S-leader as an attempt to “strangle an individual party’s funding”, without mentioning that the S, like all other parties, receives state party support and by virtue of its size a higher one than any other party.

“Sweden is today governed by politicians who have long been modeled on totalitarian regimes, and now we see how the totalitarianism of their dreams is beginning to take shape,” writes Andersson, whose party ruled Sweden continuously for 43 years with the help of the Moscow-loyal and Moscow-financed communists in the Communist Party of Sweden (VPK), and during those decades allowed the party to grow together with the state in a way that has serious totalitarian models.

Appropriating conservative nationalist phrases about “the soul of the nation”
The opinion piece ends with claims that could be criticized as “outright lies” that no one in the Tidö government in Sweden “is allowed to question power” and that it is trying to kill “the soul of our country”. Talking about the “soul of the nation” is also something Andersson picked up from Joe Biden in his speech where the “Maga extremists” were singled out as its champions. Before that, this kind of expression was more associated with nationalists, but now the S-leader dares to incorporate it into his rhetoric.

An alternative description of reality, which is also one of the main reasons why voters last fall voted out the S government, is that it is the left-liberal policy of Magdalena Andersson that is the real existential threat to Sweden’s soul through an unprecedentedly high level of immigration bordering on population exchange from geographically, culturally and value-wise distant countries.

However, during her trip to the US, Andersson stated that it is her party that “has opponents who lie like crazy”. Andersson had her press secretary Tobias Baudin with her on the trip. Before the election, he was a trade unionist in the S-controlled LO. During the election campaign, the LO announced that Ulf Kristersson would abolish health insurance for cancer patients if he was elected to form a new government. The claim was voted the biggest lie of the election campaign, and it was made by the Social Democrats themselves.

Did not want to test her skills against conservatives in the US
During her visit, she deliberately chose not to visit any strong conservative strongholds. They did not want to engage in any discussions with Republican voters or opinion leaders and risk tarnishing their image of them as the bad guys and themselves as the good guys.

  4. .
    part 3

A common thread in the left-wing identity politics rhetoric is that everyone has the right to define themselves, their gender and so on. But political opponents are the exception that proves the rule. With great interest, Magdalena Andersson listened to how Alejandro Verdin, in his speech at the Center for American Progress in Washington, as he put it, “managed to nail down the opponents” by not letting them define themselves but imposing the more pejorative definitions of the left, such as “right-wing populists”, “authoritarian”, “right-wing extremists”, “racists” or even worse.

“You have to define your opponent for the voters before they define you. Then you can run the campaign you want”, Verdin emphatically stated, and Magdalena Andersson’s opinion piece after returning from the US is a textbook example of just that. Nowhere are the terms used by SD, M, KD and L applied to themselves, only the derogatory and evil-associated ones chosen by the Social Democrats.

Magdalena “Trump-angry” about being called “Angry Andersson”
It is also important to criticize your opponent when they do the same thing as you. With regard to smearing by putting derogatory epithets on her political opponents, Magdalena Andersson, after having intensified this method herself, is now attacking the Tidö parties who have launched the relatively nice alliterative nickname “Arga Andersson” for the S-leader.”

It is clear that they are adopting Trump’s working methods of smearing their opponents”, comments Magdalena’s party secretary Tobias Baudin. The right-wingers counter by describing Magdalena’s increasing problems with maintaining calm in political debates now that she is in opposition as being “Trump-angry”.

Not the first time Swedish politicians imitate the US
This is not the first time that the Social Democrats in Sweden have tried to copy their left-liberal colleagues in the US to win elections. It was already done before the 1994 parliamentary elections when the then S leaders Ingvar Carlsson and Mona Sahlin were styled as American presidential candidates. The method was heavily criticized but was deemed successful within the party because they won the election. During Göran Persson’s time as party leader and prime minister, Bill Clinton was a mentor.

The Social Democrats are not alone in copying the American political model. As early as the 1960s, the Moderate Party, then still called the Right Party, chose Yngve Holmberg as party leader because of his visual resemblance to John F. Kennedy. However, Holmberg did not have the gift of speech of the American president who had been assassinated a few years earlier, and the experiment ended in electoral flight and failure.

In the 1980s, the then newly elected moderate party leader Ulf Adelsohn more successfully staged large party rallies of the spectacular kind that are a prominent feature of American election campaigns. Fredrik Reinfeldt later also looked to the US, and his shift from ultra-libertarian to triangulation tactics is considered a major reason why the Alliance became a successful recipe for defeating the Social Democrats. The Christian Democrats also purged much of their conservative values to fit into a more conformist liberal government constellation.

Left-liberal hegemony the basis for the return of conservatism
This was the basis for the success of the Sweden Democrats. The party could justifiably claim that the other parties constituted a ‘seven-leaf clover’ where it no longer mattered which bloc governed Sweden. It was all about winning the centrist voters, and on the bourgeois side, conservatism was discarded in a way that was out of step with the voters, especially those outside the big cities.

This is not unique to Sweden, and it is not only here that left-wing liberalism is now running into conservative patrols after a number of decades of wearing the wool and pushing society in a considerably more liberal and “progressive” direction than people felt comfortable with. Magdalena Andersson admits to DN’s reporter that “SD and Trumpism” are part of a global movement, but for her it is not a question of a healthy and understandable counter-reaction but of a formless evil on the rise.

The US is one of the countries where the conservative backlash has been most pronounced and has lasted longer than in most countries. It is also here that the left-wing liberals have come furthest in developing and updating their methods for dealing with conservatives. In her debate article, Magdalena Andersson writes a lot about how she believes that conservative forces threaten democracy. But in the US there is a widespread perception that it is instead the left-wing liberals who are increasingly dismantling democracy with lawfare, cancel culture and deplatforming. And these methods are now also becoming more common among left-liberal actors in Sweden.

  5. .
    part 4

In interviews with DN’s accompanying journalists during the US visit, Magdalena Andersson said that she thinks “there are many similarities in how they [the parties of the Tidö government] use hate and threats” with how Trump supporters “stormed” the Capitol. It is with such a portrayal of their political opponents that the Social Democrats and their partners in government have been successful in demanding more censorship on social media and other measures that limit the reach of conservative voices.

During her visit to the US, Andersson also attacked the new government’s decision to replace directors general and other senior civil servants who have a red party book and who have also clearly engaged in left-wing activism. But according to Magdalena Andersson, whose party has a record of placing its party loyalists in key positions in the public administration, the Tidö government is “hanging people who have been apolitical civil servants all their lives as activists”.

“People-to-people exchanges” a political hot potato
Recently, the word “population exchange” has been a hot topic of discussion. Statistics from Statistics Sweden and the Swedish Migration Agency show that immigration continues at an extremely high level and is dominated by people from cultures with values that differ markedly from those of the Swedes in terms of views on democracy, the place of religion in society, gender equality, the rights of sexual minorities, etc.

Swedes are already a minority in many parts of the country and in some areas they are almost completely absent. Simple extrapolating mathematics also shows that if this trend continues, Swedes will be an ethnic minority throughout Sweden before the end of the century. It is also a widely acknowledged fact that integration is not working and that the ongoing demographic change therefore also means that Sweden’s “soul” is changing dramatically to become more like that of the Muslim world. It is furthermore indisputable that this is a societal development that has not only happened by itself but has been guided by several decades of active political decisions at the highest level.

    Just a “far-right conspiracy theory”
However, according to Magdalena Andersson and the Social Democrats, it is still a “right-wing conspiracy theory” to talk in terms of “population exchange” and “Islamization” and that it is an “elite” that has consciously decided that the multiculturalist society should be implemented.

When leading Sweden Democrats now say, with the support of facts and research, that “Swedes are becoming a minority in their own country” and that this is “a mathematical fact”, Magdalena Andersson and her party claim that SD has been radicalized and therefore deserves to be attributed all kinds of pejorative epithets.

According to the S leader, the purpose of presenting facts about Sweden’s demographic and cultural transformation is “to scare the population and sow division and distrust between people”. Critics object that it is precisely this multicultural development and societal idea that the Social Democrats have long championed as something positive and enriching, but now that others are pointing it out, but in more negative terms given how the project has gone so far, they want to hide or even deny it as just a conspiracy theory.

In contrast to reality, Andersson says that what the Sweden Democrats are doing is portraying “ordinary Swedish citizens” – immigrants who have integrated well into Swedish society, work and pay taxes – as “not real Swedes”. However, the SD has been clear that its principle of ‘open Swedishness’ actually celebrates those who come here and adapt and do the right thing. Unfortunately, however, they are not in the majority, they point out, backed up by facts. The question of who is actually “lying through their teeth” is raised again.

Climate policy the next major area of conflict
The migration debate is just one of the issues where there is disagreement about who is lying and who is telling the truth. One of the major areas of conflict today is in climate policy, where more and more people now believe that the left-wing liberals are moving too fast in a way that affects welfare and prosperity and threatens both household and business finances.

Contrary to the way they have moved in migration policy, the left is not ready to reconsider its climate policy. Rather, they are moving even more in what many voters consider to be a cult-like climate alarmist and radical direction where it is argued that democracy must be abolished to implement the green transition because voters do not really understand that the end of the world is otherwise at the door. Andersson believes there is no need to listen to the critical voices because they are part of the “culture war”.

In this episode of ICIC, Dr. Reiner Fuellmich talks with Karen Kingston, a former Pfizer employee and current analyst for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and Hedley Rees, managing consultant of PharmaFlow in the pharmaceutical supply chain industry, about the unconventional manufacturing processes of the genetically engineered covid injections sold by the pharmaceutical industry as „vaccines.“

They discuss questions such as: What happens in the manufacture of these substances, and what are the quality assurance standards, if any? In what ways and for how long were the so-called novel „vaccines“ tested? What happened to the results of these studies, e.g., the placebo groups, and what does the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) have to do with all this? Why were previously completely unknown and unsuccessful companies such as the German company Biontech entrusted with the production and demonstrably funded by Bill Gates and his foundation even before the so-called „corona pandemic“?

Karen Kingston and Hedley Rees give us detailed insights and reveal inconceivable quality and safety flaws not only in the production of the vaccine doses, but also in the testing of adults and children. Pfizer whistleblower Karen Kingston presents explosive documents (emails and contracts) that prove Pfizer apparently deliberately disregarded all legal and health standards and collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). This suggests that this was a long-planned and perfectly orchestrated attack with dangerous bioweapons on humanity, especially children. Because according to the documents, Pfizer knew exactly about the numerous side effects of the so-called „vaccinations“. As well as about the fact that children were not affected by getting sick or even dying from Covid.

    No news from the Berlingske

Trump and the 2016 presidential election.

    18/5-23

    By Lars Hedegaard / snaphanen.dk

After four years of investigations into the background of the FBI and Justice Department’s espionage and intrigue against Donald Trump based on his alleged collusion with Vladimir Putin in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, respected Attorney General John Durham concludes in a 300-page report that there was not the slightest basis for the allegations against the former president.

Contrary to the dominant media’s persistent narrative of Trump’s rogue behaviour, Durham writes that both the Department of Justice and the FBI failed in their duty to treat everyone equally regardless of political opinion.

In other words, they were biased in their treatment of the Republican presidential candidate and later president, effectively acting as political actors and agents of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party.

The FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation and espionage against Mr Trump should never have been launched because it was based on false allegations from the beginning.

Durham thus confirms that Trump and his supporters were right in claiming that they were victims of a vicious campaign of lies.

As one might expect, the same media that has bombarded Americans year after year with fantastic stories concocted by Hillary Clinton’s inner circle has done its best to dismiss the Durham report as irrelevant or as Trump propaganda. These media have no shame. Some of them have even gone so far as to use former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and former FBI agent Peter Strzok to discredit Durham, even though they were among the main perpetrators of the Russia dossier.

Most of the establishment media have never been interested in reporting the facts, but have acted as political activists for the left, and because they continue to refuse to deal with the truth, millions of Americans will continue to believe that Trump won the 2016 presidential election because he colluded with Putin.

The same is of course true in Denmark, whose media have slavishly repeated the lies of the Democratic Party. So how should they frame their stories today about the Durham report and the swamp of false accusations against Donald Trump that it reveals?

    How about headlines like:

Russia-gate was a lie from start to finish.

FBI participated in conspiracy against Trump

Hillary Clinton caught in gross lies

Danish media gave a false picture of American politics

But we shouldn’t expect such headlines, because that would mean that the Danish media would stand with their pants down and admit that they can’t be trusted.

Therefore, Berlingske chose to publish a Ritzau telegram today with the following headline:

“Heavy criticism of FBI gives Trump ammunition for election campaign”.
Note the focus, which is no longer on the FBI’s role in the Russia scandal, but on what the vile crook Trump will refrain from using it for.

At the bottom of the article we read:

“This report will play a big role. Because Trump will use it to paint with this brush that he is innocently persecuted”.

So says a Danish ‘expert’ on US issues. Trump may also use the report to “support his narrative that he is being witch-hunted”.

Readers of Berlingske must realise that it is an ugly thing for Trump to point out that he has been subjected to a witch hunt, when that is exactly what he has been subjected to for the past eight years.

After this bias, Berlingske can now return to what it does best: lying about American politics. And the organisation will certainly not be the only one doing so.
